  • In this paper a development of shaft power measuring system for a small vessel is discussed. It is important that the exact power measurement of marine engine which is used for ship's propulsion since the engine power is related to ship's usage and its shaft design. Two gearwheel and magnetic sensors are adopted to measure torsional angle on the shaft. High resolution encoder is also applied to compensate the output signal from gearwheel. The calculation of shaft power is executed using measured signal and angular velocity of rotating machine and the result is plotted on the monitoring screen.

  • As avionics and mechanical devices have been developed, the size of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is getting smaller. However, the complicated and accurate missions are provided to the UAV. Among various types of UAVs, quadrotors are widely used for their availability by virtue of simple structure and hovering function. However, the control of quadrotor is highly constrained, because the quadrotor is an under-actuated system which has only 4 actuator inputs. To deal with this under-actuated problem, a new quadrotor model with two more actuators in addition to the 4 propeller inputs is provided to make the system fully-actuated. For the proposed model, a controller is designed using feedback linearization methods. To validate the model and to verify the performance of the proposed controller, numerical simulation is performed.

A Study on Knocking Characteristics of a 300 kW Class CNG Engine for CHP (열병합 발전용 300 kW급 천연가스 엔진의 노킹 특성 연구)

  • Among the various prime movers for combined heat and power (CHP) system, the CNG engine is the most commonly used power generation equipment of which power is less than 1MW. The 300 kW class CNG engine for CHP can meet stringent emission regulations with the adoption of stoichiometric air-fuel ratio control and three way catalyst. As the thermal efficiency of the stoichiometric ratio engine is lower than that of lean burn engine, it is necessary to operate the stoichiometric engine at its minimum spark advance for the best torque (MBT). However, knock control should be introduced for the engine under high intake air temperature conditions because MBT operating conditions are generally very close to those of knock occurrence. In this study, engine performances and knocking characteristics were experimentally investigated for the CNG engine that needs to be operated at higher intake air temperature conditions than normal conditions.

Mineralogical Characteristics of the Lower Choseon Supergroup in the Weondong Area (원동지역 하부 조선누층군의 광물학적 특성)

  • This study determined mineralogical characteristics and discussed the meaning of mineralogical changes of the lower Choseon Supergrouop in the Weondong area based on the field geological investigation and the drilling core description using X-ray diffraction (XRD) mineral quantification and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) observation. 100 samples with depth were collected from the core (250 m long) at a site in the study area. Especially, to investigate the changes from the upper Daegi Formation to the lower Hwajeol Formation, the samples were collected closely with the interval of about 0.3 m at this section. All samples were made into power using mortar for XRD. Mineral quantitative analysis was executed using Relative Intensity Ratio (RIR) method with corundum as an internal standard phase. Calcite, $2M_1$ illite and quartz are main constituents in most of samples. Dolomite and siderite are significantly observed in the Sesong Formation. As the results of quantitative analysis for the major minerals, the upper Daegi Formation is dominated by calcite with over 80%. The Sesong Formation includes high percentage of dolomite and siderite with the intercalation of thin layers containing high calcite and $2M_1$ illite contents. Hwajeol Formation is characterized by the alternation between thin layers of $2M_1$ illite and quartz-dominated layer (IQDL) and calcite-dominated layer (CDL). IQDL is more frequent in the lower part, whereas CDL is more common in the upper part. The boundary between Daegi Formation and the Sesong Formation is distinct, whereas the boundary between the Sesong Formation and the Hwajeol Formation tends to be changed gradually in mineralogy. The result of SEM observation shows that quartz and $2M_1$ illite are detrital, and a significant amount of calcite also shows detrital form with some recrystallized one, indicating that the repeated influx of terrestrial materials had changed the mineralogy of the shallow sea depositional environment in the early Paleozoic era.

The Results of Drilling in Weondong Mine Area, the Taebaegsan Mineralized District, Republic of Korea (강원도 태백산지역 원동광산 시추탐사연구)

  • The Taebaegsan Mineralized District is the most prospective region for the useful mineral commodities such as a coal, non-metallic, metallic mineral in South Korea. From a general point of view, Cambro- Ordovician limestone formations, Myobong slate and Pungchon (Daegi) limestone, are the most fertilizable formations in the Taebaegsan Mineralized District. The geology around Weondong mine area consists mainly of Carboniferous-Triassic formations and Cambro-Ordovician formations intruded by rhyolite/quartz porphyry. The great overthrusted fault of N40~$50^{\circ}E$ direction, so called Weondong overthrust fault, is observed in the central part of the mine area and the NS fault system cuts the overthrusted fault. By postulating from the favorable geological and structural condition around Weondong area, the possibility of deep seated hidden ore bodies is expected. In 2010, on the basis of the results of LOTEM and CSAMT survey, the cross-hole survey was performed for the investigation of the hidden polymetallic ore body in the deep parts of the Weondong mine area and the grade of the newly-discovered orebody is as follows; (1) The cut-off grade for lead-zinc 3%; an weighted average grade 5.50% (2.7 m), (2) The cutoff grade for copper 0.1%; an weighted average grade 0.91% (14.65 m), (3) The cut-off grade for iron 30%; an weighted average grade 38.18% (3.3 m), (4) $WO_3$ for each cut-off grade(0.01%, 0.05%, 0.1%); an weighted average grade 0.29 wt. % (8.8 m), 1.15 wt. % (2.1 m), 1.97 wt. % (1.2 m), (5) $MoS_2$ for each cut-off grade(0.01%, 0.1%); an weighted average grade 0.15 wt. % (6.3S m), 0.28 wt. % (3.15 m), (6) $Ta_2O_5$ for each cut-off grade (0.01%, 0.1%); an weighted average grade 0.13% (19.S m), 1.11% (1.8 m), (7) $Nb_2O_5$ for each cut-offgrade (0.01%, 0.1%); an weighted average grade 0.06% 11.5 m), 0.15% (3.0 m).

  • 무선 통신의 발달로 무선 단말기 상에서 서명 생성 및 검증과 메시지의 암호화와 복호화 등의 연산의 필요성이 대두되었다. 하지만, 무선 통신이라는 특성상 적은 메모리 용량을 사용해서 빠른 연산을 수행하고, 적은 통신량을 보장해야 한다. 이러한 무선 단말기의 제약사항은 서명과 암호화를 함께 하는 Signcryption 개념과 ECC 기반의 연산을 수행하여 해결할 수 있다. 또한 네트워크상에서의 정보보안을 위해 설치된 방화벽을 통과하기 위해서는 서명의 검증이 필요한데, 서명된 메시지를 암호화 해서 보낼 경우 서명 검증시 수신자의 비밀키가 있어야 메시지를 복원해서 서명을 검증할 수 있기 때문에 이 점을 보완하기 위해 본 논문에서는 서명 검증시에 평문이 필요없는 ECC 기반의 signcryption 방식을 제안한다.

  • 패스워드 기반 키분배 프로토콜의 가장 중요한 요구사항 중 하나는 사전공격과 같은 패스워드 추측 공격에 대하여 안전하여야 한다. 그러나 지금까지 제안된 패스워드 추측 공격에 대한 안전성은 비밀 서버를 가정하고 있다. 즉, 검증자 기반 방식이더라도 서버에 저장되어 있는 패스워드 검증자가 비밀리에 보관되어야 한다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 방식의 다중 서버를 이용한 패스워드 기반 키분배 방식을 제안한다. 딜리는 사용자에 대한 인증 및 검증자를 각 서버에 전송하는 일을 담당한다. 사용자는 특정 서버와 단독으로 세션키를 교환하지만, 서버는 세션키를 생성하기 위해서는 그룹 내에 있는 모든 서버와 비밀 복원 과정을 거처야만 하는 새로운 방식이다. 사용자와 키분배를 수행하는 특정한 서버는 그룹 내에 있는 다른 서버와 비밀 복원 과정을 거처야만 키분배 과정을 수행할 수 있으므로, 특정 서버의 패스워드 파일이 노출되어 패스워드 검증자가 공격자에게 노출되더라도 비밀 분산 과정을 수행하지 못하는 공격자는 패스워드 추측에 필요한 정보를 획득할 수 없다.

Voltage Control of ULTC and Distributed Generations in Distribution System (분산전원이 연계된 배전계통에서 ULTC와 분산전원의 전압제어)

  • LDC(Line Drop Compensation) is widely used in controlling ULTC(Under Load Tap Changer) output voltage at distribution substation. However, LDC may experience some difficulties in voltage control due to renewable energy resources and distributed generations. Therefore, more advanced voltage control algorithm is necessary to deal with these problems. In this paper, a modified voltage control algorithm for ULTC and DG is suggested. ULTC is operated with the voltages measured at various points in distribution system and prevents overvoltage and undervoltage in the distribution feeders. Reactive power controller in DG compensates the voltage drop in each distribution feeders. By these algorithms, the voltage unbalance between feeders and voltage limit violation will be reduced and the voltage profile in each feeder will become more flat.

  • 콘크리트의 보강재로 높은 인장 강도와 비부식성, 비자기성, 비전기성 등의 장점을 갖는 FRP의 사용에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만 FRP가 갖는 낮은 탄성계수와 취성적 성질로 인해 기존 설계방법을 적용하기에는 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서는 보강비 변화에 따른 AFRP 보강 콘크리트 보의 구조 실험을 수행하여 FRP 보강근을 사용한 콘크리트 부재의 휨 성능 연구에 대한 기초적 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 각 실험체의 결과 데이터를 비교 분석한 결과 균형보강비를 기준으로 저보강 실험체는 FRP의 파단에 의해 급격한 파괴양상을 보인 반면에, 과보강 실험체는 콘크리트가 압괴하는 파괴 징후를 보이며 파괴에 도달하였다. FRP 보강근을 사용한 보 부재의 설계에 균형보강 이상의 설계가 요구되며, 과보강의 경우 고강도 콘크리트의 사용이 요구되는 것으로 분석되었다.
