Verification of VIIRS Data using AIS data and automatic extraction of nigth lights (AIS 자료를 이용한 VIIRS 데이터의 야간 불빛 자동 추출 및 검증)

  • 해양 관측과 위성 원격탐사를 이용하여 시공간적으로 다양하게 변하는 생태 어장 환경 및 선박 관련 자료를 획득할 수 있다. 이번 연구의 주요 목적은 야간 불빛 위성 자료를 이용하여 광범위한 해역에 대한 어선의 위치 분포를 파악하는 딥러닝 기반 모델을 제안하는 것이다. 제안한 모델의 정확성을 평가하기 위해 야간 조업 어선의 위치를 포함하고 있는 AIS(Automatic Identification System) 정보와 상호 비교 평가 하였다. 이를 위해, 먼저 AIS 자료를 획득 및 분석하는 방법을 소개한다. 해양안전종합시스템(General Information Center on Maritime Safety & Security, GICOMS)으로부터 제공받은 AIS 자료는 동적정보와 정적정보로 나뉜다. 동적 정보는 일별 자료로 구분되어있으며, 이 정보에는 해상이동업무식별번호(Maritime Mobile Service Identity, MMSI), 선박의 시간, 위도, 경도, 속력(Speed over Ground, SOG), 실침로(Course over Ground, COG), 선수방향(Heading) 등이 포함되어 있다. 정적정보는 1개의 파일로 구성되어 있으며, 선박명, 선종 코드, IMO Number, 호출부호, 제원(DimA, DimB, DimC, Dim D), 홀수, 추정 톤수 등이 포함되어 있다. 이번 연구에서는 선박의 정보에서 어선의 정보를 추출하여 비교 자료로 사용하였으며, 위성 자료는 구름의 영향이 없는 깨끗한 날짜의 영상 자료를 선별하여 사용하였다. 야간 불빛 위성 자료, 구름 정보 등을 이용하여 야간 조업 어선의 불빛을 감지하는 심층신경망(Deep Neural Network; DNN) 기반 모델을 제안하였다. 본 연구의결과는 야간 어선의 분포를 감시하고 한반도 인근 어장을 보호하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 지구온난화에 따른 우리나라 주변 환경의 변화와 최근 중국 불법 어선의 연근해 어업 자원의 고갈 등으로 인해 우리나라 연근해 어족자원을 보호할 필요성이 증대되고 있으며, 지속 가능한 어업을 위해서는 어획물의 종류와 양을 정확히 파악하고 불법 어업에 대한 철저한 감시 및 관리가 필요하다. 이러한 시공간적으로 다양하게 변하는 생태 및 어장 환경 정보와 선박에 대한 정보를 통해 해양관측과 위성 원격탐사를 동시에 이용함으로써 근해와 원양 생물자원 실태를 관측하는 것이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 NOAA-20 위성의 VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) DNB (Day & Night Band) 영상을 기반으로 추정한 야간 불빛 자료를 활용하고자 한다. DNB 불빛 영상은 낮은 조도의 불빛을 감지하여 그 정보를 보여 준다. 야간 불빛 자료에 포함된 구름 부분을 마스킹하기 위해 NASA의 신규알고리즘이 적용된JPSS-JRR-CloudMask 기술을 이용하였다. 이번 연구에서는 구름의 영향이 없는 날짜를 선별한 후 AIS 정보에서 어선의 정보를 추출하여 검증 자료로 사용하였다. 실제 선박의 정보를 이용한 위성 불빛 자료의 검증을 통해 위성자료의 신뢰성을 확보하고 향후 불빛과 선단 규모의 상관관계 분석 및 어선의 분포 경향 분석을 통하여 우리나라의 어장환경 분석에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

A Performance Comparison of Land-Based Floating Debris Detection Based on Deep Learning and Its Field Applications (딥러닝 기반 육상기인 부유쓰레기 탐지 모델 성능 비교 및 현장 적용성 평가)

  • A large amount of floating debris from land-based sources during heavy rainfall has negative social, economic, and environmental impacts, but there is a lack of monitoring systems for floating debris accumulation areas and amounts. With the recent development of artificial intelligence technology, there is a need to quickly and efficiently study large areas of water systems using drone imagery and deep learning-based object detection models. In this study, we acquired various images as well as drone images and trained with You Only Look Once (YOLO)v5s and the recently developed YOLO7 and YOLOv8s to compare the performance of each model to propose an efficient detection technique for land-based floating debris. The qualitative performance evaluation of each model showed that all three models are good at detecting floating debris under normal circumstances, but the YOLOv8s model missed or duplicated objects when the image was overexposed or the water surface was highly reflective of sunlight. The quantitative performance evaluation showed that YOLOv7 had the best performance with a mean Average Precision (intersection over union, IoU 0.5) of 0.940, which was better than YOLOv5s (0.922) and YOLOv8s (0.922). As a result of generating distortion in the color and high-frequency components to compare the performance of models according to data quality, the performance degradation of the YOLOv8s model was the most obvious, and the YOLOv7 model showed the lowest performance degradation. This study confirms that the YOLOv7 model is more robust than the YOLOv5s and YOLOv8s models in detecting land-based floating debris. The deep learning-based floating debris detection technique proposed in this study can identify the spatial distribution of floating debris by category, which can contribute to the planning of future cleanup work.

  • With the development of information and communications technology (ICT) and big data technology, anyone can easily obtain and utilize vast amounts of data through the Internet. Therefore, the capability of selecting high-quality data from a large amount of information is becoming more important than the capability of just collecting them. This trend continues in academia; literature reviews, such as systematic and non-systematic reviews, have been conducted in various research fields to construct a healthy knowledge structure by selecting high-quality research from accumulated research materials. Meanwhile, after the COVID-19 pandemic, remote healthcare services, which have not been agreed upon, are allowed to a limited extent, and new healthcare services such as health recommender systems (HRS) equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies are in the spotlight. Although, in practice, HRS are considered one of the most important technologies to lead the future healthcare industry, literature review on HRS is relatively rare compared to other fields. In addition, although HRS are fields of convergence with a strong interdisciplinary nature, prior literature review studies have mainly applied either systematic or non-systematic review methods; hence, there are limitations in analyzing interactions or dynamic relationships with other research fields. Therefore, in this study, the overall network structure of HRS and surrounding research fields were identified using citation network analysis (CNA). Additionally, in this process, in order to address the problem that the latest papers are underestimated in their citation relationships, the GraphSAGE algorithm was applied. As a result, this study identified 'recommender system', 'wireless & IoT', 'computer vision', and 'text mining' as increasingly important research fields related to HRS research, and confirmed that 'personalization' and 'privacy' are emerging issues in HRS research. The study findings would provide both academic and practical insights into identifying the structure of the HRS research community, examining related research trends, and designing future HRS research directions.

Research Trends on Estimation of Soil Moisture and Hydrological Components Using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR를 이용한 토양수분 및 수문인자 산출 연구동향)

  • Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) is able to photograph the earth's surface regardless of weather conditions, day and night. Because of its possibility to search for hydrological factors such as soil moisture and groundwater, and its importance is gradually increasing in the field of water resources. SAR began to be mounted on satellites in the 1970s, and about 15 or more satellites were launched as of 2020, which around 10 satellites will be launched within the next 5 years. Recently, various types of SAR technologies such as enhancement of observation width and resolution, multiple polarization and multiple frequencies, and diversification of observation angles were being developed and utilized. In this paper, a brief history of the SAR system, as well as studies for estimating soil moisture and hydrological components were investigated. Up to now hydrological components that can be estimated using SAR satellites include soil moisture, subsurface groundwater discharge, precipitation, snow cover area, leaf area index(LAI), and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) and among them, soil moisture is being studied in 17 countries in South Korea, North America, Europe, and India by using the physical model, the IEM(Integral Equation Model) and the artificial intelligence-based ANN(Artificial Neural Network). RADARSAT-1, ENVISAT, ASAR, and ERS-1/2 were the most widely used satellite, but the operation has ended, and utilization of RADARSAT-2, Sentinel-1, and SMAP, which are currently in operation, is gradually increasing. Since Korea is developing a medium-sized satellite for water resources and water disasters equipped with C-band SAR with the goal of launching in 2025, various hydrological components estimation researches using SAR are expected to be active.

A Study on the Competitive Analysis of Digital Healthcare in Korea through Patent Analysis (특허분석을 통한 한국의 디지털 헬스케어 분야 경쟁력 분석연구)

  • As IoT and AI have recently developed, interest in digital healthcare is increasing. Therefore, this study aims to identify technology trends through a patent analysis on digital healthcare and present future promising areas by analyzing domestic and foreign technology competitiveness and keywords. The detailed technologies to be analyzed were designated as Health Information Measurement Technology, Healthcare Platform Technology and Healthcare Remote Service Technology, and 61,166 patents were analyzed to identify the patent trends of the world's major patent offices and major patent applications. In addition, the analysis of the technological competitiveness of each detailed technology and Korea's technological competitiveness based on its patent activity, the rate of major market securing, and the uses of the patents showed that Korea's technological competitiveness was lower than global technology. In addition, the key keyword analysis showed that the core promising areas of digital healthcare were expected to require a focused strategy for fostering health care platform technologies in Korea.

A Study on the Research Trends in Unmanned Surface Vehicle using Topic Modeling (토픽모델링을 이용한 무인수상정 기술 동향 분석)

  • Because the USV(Unmanned Surface Vehicle) is capable of remote control or autonomous navigation at sea, it can secure the superiority of combat power while minimizing human losses in a future combat environment. To plan the technology for the development of USV, the trend analysis of related technology and the selection of promising technology should be preceded, but there has been little research in this area. The purpose of this paper was to measure and evaluate the technology trends quantitatively. For this purpose, this study analyzed the technology trends and selected promising/declining technologies using topic modeling of papers and patent data. As a result of topic modeling, promising technologies include control and navigation, verification/validation, autonomous level, mission module, and application technology, and declining technologies include underwater communication and image processing technology. This study also identified new technology areas that were not included in the existing technology classification, e.g., technology related to research and development of USV, artificial intelligence, launch/recovery, and operation, such as cooperation with manned and unmanned systems. The technology trends and new technology areas identified through this study may be used to derive key technologies related to the development of the USV and establish appropriate R&D policies.

  • Smart Grid is the next-generation intelligent power grid that maximizes energy efficiency with the convergence of IT technologies and the existing power grid. Smart Grid is created solution for standardization and interoperability. Smart Grid industry enables consumers to check power rates in real time for active power consumption. It also enables suppliers to measure their expected power generation load, which stabilizes the operation of the power system. Smart industy was ecolved actively cause Wireless communication is being considered for AMI system and wireless communication using ZigBee sensor has been applied in various industly. In this paper, we proposed efficient addressing scheme for improving the performance of the routing algorithm using ZigBee in Smart Grid environment. A distributed address allocation scheme used an existing algorithm has wasted address space. Therefore proposing x, y coordinate axes from divide address space of 16 bit to solve this problem. Each node was reduced not only bitwise but also multi hop using the coordinate axes while routing than Cskip algorithm. I compared the performance between the standard and the proposed mechanism through the numerical analysis. Simulation verify performance about decrease averaging multi hop count that compare proposing algorithm and another. The numerical analysis results show that proposed algorithm reduce multi hop than ZigBee distributed address assignment and another.

  • OSGi(Open Service Gateway Initiative) offers a unique opportunity for pervasive computing as a potential framework for achieving interoperability between various sensors, home appliances, and networked devices. The OSGi framework supports a remote installation of a bundle, which is a unit that installs and deploys services. However, in order for the bundle in execution to migrate, a specific form of bundle such a mobile agent, is needed one which is able to move through a heterogeneous network. This paper proposes a method that can manage bundles like these dynamic agents, in order to ensure the mobility of entities in multiple OSGi framework environments. For our purposes, we have designed the mobile agent management system for managing the lifecycle and mobility of agents in the OSGi framework. The mobile agent management system we are proposing implements a bundle form which can perform in an OSGi framework as well as manage autonomous mobile services. As a result, mobility in a pervasive environment will be supported more efficiently.

Study on the energy-saving constant temperature and humidity machine operating characteristics (에너지 절감형 항온항습기 운전 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The heat recovery system that was applied in this study, is the energy-saving type that can produce the maximum cooling capacity less power in use. In order to have a more precise control function the temperature and humidity of the constant temperature and humidity machine, control algorithm is applied to designed a fuzzy PID controller, and the outside air compensation device (air-cooled) demonstrated excellent ability to dehumidify the moisture, $-20^{\circ}C$ in winter. High efficiency and the low-noise type sirocco fan operate quitely and designed to fit the bottom-up and top-down in accordance with the characteristics of equipment. as a result of experiment data, the conversion efficiency is 95% or more, power recovery time is within 5sec, stop delay time is within 30sec, pump down time is 10sec, pump delay time is 5sec, heating delay time is 5sec, temperature deviation is ${\pm}2^{\circ}C$ (cooling deviation: $2^{\circ}C$, Heating deviation : $2^{\circ}C$), humidity deviation is a ${\pm}5%$ (humidification deviation 3.0%, dehumidification deviation 3.0%). Recently, ubiquitous technology is important. so, the constant temperature and humidity machine designed to be able to remotely control to via the mobile phone, and more scalable to support MMI software and automatic interface. Further, the life of the parts and equipment is extended by the failure.
