Power Management System of Base Station Equipment for Mobile Communications (이동통신 장비의 전력관리 시스템)

  • Many studies have been carried out in order to develop a frequency efficient communication system than the current communication system for satisfying the increasing demands of wireless data services in mobile communication systems. Service providers must maintain a lot of base station equipments to meet the increasing demands of wireless data service. Therefore service provider needs a system or method to reduce maintenance costs. The amount of wireless data service are changed according to the time of day, geographical location and so on. Power consumption can be reduced if the supplied power of communication systems is controlled by the amount of wireless data traffics. In this paper, power management system of base station's equipment for mobile communication is designed and implemented. The proposed power management system controls the power supplied to the mobile communication infrastructures depending on the service amount of wireless data. Field test result of the implemented system shows the proposed system saves 26% of the power consumption in the base stations.

  • The large scaled lead-acid battery is widely used for efficient operation of the photovoltaic system in many islands. However, lithium-ion battery is now being introduced to mitigate the fluctuation of wind power and to replace lead-acid battery. Therefore, hybrid ESS (Energy Storage system) that combines lithium-ion battery with lead-acid battery is being required because lithium-ion battery is costly in present stage. Under this circumstance, this paper presents the optimal algorithm to create composition rate of hybrid ESS by considering fixed and variable costs in order to maximize advantage of each battery. With minimization of total cost including fixed and variable costs, the optimal composition rate can be calculated based on the various scenarios such as load variation, life cycle and cost trend. From simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithms are an effective tool to produce a optimal composition rate.

  • 액세스망 기술 분야는 초고속 정보통신 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 유·무선 전달 매체 처리기술, 액세스망 구성 방식 기술, 기존 인프라를 이용하는 고도의 DSL기술 등이 복합되어 사업자의 망 구축 여건에 따라 다양한 형태로 실현되고 있다. MAIN1)은 기존 동선상에서 전화 및 데이터 서비스는 물론 광대역서비스 제공을 위해 VDSL기술을 채용하며, 망 구성방식으로는 ATM/SDH 또는 ATM/PON 기반으로 FTTx 방식의 통합 액세스망 플랫폼이다. 그러나 액세스망은 다수 망사업자와 서비스사업자 환경과 공중망과 사설망이 혼재하며, 새로운 요소기술이 복합되는 망 영역이므로 소요장치의 OAM 뿐만 아니라 망관리에 대한 체계적인 OA&M이 요구되고 있다. 액세스망의 OA&M은 비용 효과적인 액세스망 실현과 실제 망 운용비용과는 상호 상반된 관점을 가진다. 본 논문은 다양한 형태의 액세스망에 대해 통합 관점의 망 관리와 시스템 관리를 위한 체계적인 OA&M 정립을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 통합 엑세스망 플랫폼에 대한 망관리 설계 접근 방법 및 고려사항에 대해 논하고, MAIN의 관리 구조 모델을 제시한다. 또한 MAIN 하드웨어 구조에서 NEL 시스템의 운용관리 및 소요기술에대한 OAM 기능과 망관리 기능 구현을 통하여 MAIN 엑세스망의 OA&M 실현 구조를 조명 함으로서 관련 액세스망 OA&M 구현 시 기본 참조 모델로 제안한다.

A Study on Activation of New Mobile Communication Spectrum in the Environment of Mobile Big Data Traffic (모바일 빅 데이터 트래픽 환경에서 새로운 이동통신 주파수의 활성화 방안 연구)

  • This paper analyses technical and economical conditions which activate the use of mobile communication spectrum not to limit the growth of mobile broadband service because of mobile big data traffic and proposes the method which activate the use of mobile communication spectrum. To activate new mobile communication spectrum the expenditure and income of investment should be balanced. The activation of new mobile communication spectrum to process mobile big data traffic depends on technical and economical conditions, internal and external factors of service provider. The investment expenditure is relate to CAPEX, OPEX which is internal factors of service provider and to spectrum price which is external factor of service. The investment income is relate to tariff system which is internal factors of service provider and to spectrum neutrality which is external factor of service provider. The activation of new mobile communication spectrum can be implemented when the investment expenditure and investment income meet the balance including the spectrum price in the investment expenditure and the tariff system which is able to extend network and the income based on traffic increase by external contents in the investment income.

Implementation and Economic Evaluation of Movable Power Supply Device for Electric Vehicle (EV용 이동형 전원공급장치의 구현 및 경제성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Power quality problems caused by feeder voltage drop and extension construction cost problems can occur with the increasing utilization rates of the existing fixed-type EV (electric vehicle) charger. Moreover, EV users might not be able to access the EV charger due to a lack of EV charging facilities. Therefore, this paper proposes an MPSD (movable power supply device) for EVs to overcome user inconvenience caused by the insufficient number of chargers and extension cost issues. The proposed MPSD was mainly composed of a PV (photovoltaic) system, ESS (energy storage system), EV charging system, and monitoring and control system. Furthermore, there are three operation modes available to enhance the flexibility of the MPSD application, depending on the situation. This paper also presents an economical evaluation modeling using the present worth method to consider the cost and benefit elements. The simulation results based on proposed modeling showed that MPSD is more economical than the existing EV charger. Moreover, its profit can be increased significantly depending on the distance to the installation point.

  • Recently, modular construction method has been widely applied to projects with repetitive processes including dormitory, the residential facility, and the hotel construction due to reduced labor input and shortened construction schedule. Generally, about 40% of total on-site construction cost excluding unit installation cost, is put on exterior finishing work, and thus management of finishing work is deemed important in maintaining the targeted schedule and cost. Since limited equipment is shared so that subsequent activities are not affected while carrying out on-site installation and finishing work, lifting plan becomes more important for modular projects with greater portion of finishing work load. In this regard, tower crane operation plan may take the form of a single cycle or multiple cycles in which equipment efficiency can be affected. However, difficulties exist in evaluating alternatives to tower crane operation plans supporting unit installation and finishing work. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the alternative of tower crane operation method according to the cyclic period setting in modular building site to determine the effect on T/C uptime and process by parameterizing lifting time for unit and exterior finishing material, lift cycle for unit and exterior finishing material and time required for finishing work. Accordingly, this study develops a simulation model that can increase the tower crane efficiency by controlling the work speed. An academic contribution of this study is to suggest a resource leveling method applying the concept of lifting cycle, and further is expected to be managerially used as a basis for an alternative evaluation of equipment plan.

  • 계통운영 보조서비스는 전력계통의 안정성 확보, 전기품질 유지 및 전력거래 활성화를 위한 필수적인 서비스이다. 계통운영보조서비스의 비용요소는 연료비, 운영유지비, 자본비용, 기회비용으로 구분된다. 이의 적정비용규모를 산정하여 보조서비스 제공자에게 보상함으로써 전력의 공급안정성 화보에 크게 기여할 수 있게 된다. 여기서는 국내 전력시장에서 연료비와 운영유지비 측면에서 적정비용규모를 산정하고 현재 운용중인 시장규칙과 비하여 개선방안을 제시한다.

  • 본 논문은 열차제어시스템 유지보수업무의 최적화를 위한 정량적 주기산출방법에 관한 것으로, 특히 전장품과 같이 유지보수업무로 주로 교체업무가 선택되는 경우, 운영비용을 최적화하기 위한 교체주기를 정량적으로 산출하기위한 방법을 제시하고, 장치의 고장분포 데이터를 통해, 철도신호장치의 교체주기를 할당한다. 제시한 방법은 유지보수장치의 운영이력을 분석하여, 장치의 고장데이터를 바탕으로 고장분포를 확률적으로 모델링한 뒤, 정확한 LCC데이터가 적용될 때 새롭게 도입되는 장비 및 시스템의 유지보수업무주기를 할당이 가능하고, 이를 통해여 시스템의 운영안전을 보장하면서, 운용비용을 최적화 할 수 있다.

  • It is very difficult to construct and manager public transit, like subway, in small city. In this paper, we suggest full electric vehicle sharing service framework as a public transit system in small city. The suggested system will reduce environment pollution and increase resource usage efficiency. The simulation result shows that the suggested electric vehicle sharing system can reduce traffic congestion and lower city road stress.

한국의 국방 신뢰성 업무의 발전방안에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 국방 분야의 신뢰성의 제고하기 위한 국방 신뢰성 Master Plan의 구축이 시급하다고 판단하여 우리나라 국방 분야의 신뢰성 업무를 종합하는 기본 계획서인 "국방 신뢰성 Master Plan"을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 소요제기단계부터 설계 및 개발 단계, 양산 및 유지정비보수 단계, 운용단계에 이르기까지 신뢰성을 적용할 수 있게 됨으로써 무기체계의 작전수행능력 제고는 물론, 무기체계의 성능향상, 무기체계의 개발기간 단축뿐만 아니라 막대한 비용 절감 효과가 기대된다. 또한 무기체계의 각 개발 단계의 주요시점마다 신뢰성의 개념을 적용함으로써 체계의 운용유지비용을 획기적으로 절감할 수 있을 것으로 기대되며, 국산무기체계의 국제경쟁력 향상을 통하여 경제발전에도 크게 기여할 것으로 전망된다.
