A Study on Buckling Behavior of Shallow Circular Arches (낮은 원호아치의 좌굴거동에 대한 연구)

  • Behavioral characteristics of shallow circular arches with dynamic loading and different end conditions are analysed. Geometric nonlinearity is modelled using Lagrangian description of the motion. The finite element analysis procedure is used to solve the dynamic equation of motion, and the Newmark method is adopted in the approximation of time integration. The behavior of arches is analysed using the buckling criterion and non-dimensional time, load and shape parameters which Humphreys suggested. But a new deflection-ratio formula including the effect of horizontal displacement plus vertical displacement is presented to apply for the non-symmetric buckling problems. Through the model analysis, it's confirmed that fix-ended arches have higher buckling stability than hinge-ended arches, and arches with the same shape parameter have the same deflection ratio at the same time parameter when loaded with the same parametric load.

  • 본 논문에는 Euler매개변수를 회전좌표계로 사용하여 구속된 3차원 기계시스템의 역동학력 해 을 수행한 연구결과가 수록되었다. 해석을 위해 문제에 등장하는 비선형 Holonomic구속조건식 들과 운동방정식들을 Cartesian일반좌표계을 사용하여 표시하였으며, 일반좌표계를 구성하는 각 강체의 좌표계로는 변위를 나타내기 위한 3개의 좌표와 회전을 나타내기 위한 4개의 Euler매 개변수가 사용되었다. 구속조건식들과 미분방정식 형태의 운동방정식들을 결합하여 시스템 전 체의 운동방정식을 유도하기 위해 Lagrange승수 기법을 사용하였다. 각 강체의 주어진 시간에 서의 위치, 속도, 가속도는 기구학적 해석(kinematic analysis)을 통해 얻어지고, 이 자료들을 전 체운동방정식에 대입하여 Lagrnage승수의 값을 계산하여 6개의 자유도를 가진 로봇 기구를 원 하는대로 운전하는에 필요한 각 관절의 토오크를 계산하였으며, 계산결과가 정확하다는 사실이 입증되었다. 연구결과 Euler매개변수를 회전좌표로 사용할 경우 특이 경우(singular case)가 발 생하지 않으며, 이 방법은 역동력학 해석용 다목적 전산프로그램 개발에 광범위하게 응용될 수 있음이 밝혀졌다.

Application of two-term storage function method converted from kinematic wave method (운동파법의 변환에 의한 2항 저류함수법의 적용)

  • The storage function method is used as a flood prediction model for four flood control offices in Korea as a method to analyze the actual rainfall-runoff relationship with non-linearity. It is essential to accurately estimate the parameters of the storage function method for accurate runoff analysis. However, the parameters of the storage function method currently in use are estimated by the empirical formula developed by the limited hydrological analysis in 2012; therefore, they are somewhat inaccurate. The kinematic wave method is a method based on physical variables of watershed and channel and is widely used for rainfall-runoff analysis. By adopting the two-term storage function method by the conversion of the kinematic wave method, parameters can be estimated based on physical variables, which can increase the accuracy of runoff calculation. In this research, the reproducibility of the kinematic wave method by the two-term storage function method was investigated. It is very easy to estimate the parameters because equivalent roughness, which is an important physical variable in watershed runoff, can be easily obtained by using land use and land cover, and the physical variable of channel runoff can be easily obtained from the basic river planning report or topographic map. In addition, this research examined the applicability of the two-term storage function method to runoff simulation of Naechon Stream, a tributary of the Hongcheon River in the Han River basin. As a result, it is considered that more accurate runoff calculation results could be obtained than the existing one-term storage function method. It is expected that the utilization of the storage function method can be increased because the parameters can be easily estimated using physical variables even in unmeasured watersheds and channels.

A Study on Parameters of Soft Recoil Mechanism for Reduction of Recoil Force (주퇴력 저감을 위한 연식 주퇴 메커니즘의 매개변수에 관한 연구)

  • The soft recoil mechanism was an effective mechanism for reducing the recoil force by forwarding momentum. There were some parameters such as the fire angle, firing position, and initial pressure of the recuperator, which influenced the forwarding momentum. These parameters affected the generation of the forwarding momentum in the soft recoil mechanism. To design for the mechanism, the parameters affecting momentum were studied to consider some reasonable conditions. Among the various parameters, the initial pressure of the recuperator and firing position was confirmed as a key factor to have affected the momentum. It was determined that the recoil force had a minimum value when the initial pressure of the recuperator was 180.

Evaluation of Parameter Characteristics of the Storage Function Model Using the Kinematic Wave Model (운동파모형을 이용한 저류함수법 매개변수의 특성 평가)

  • The storage function model is one of the most commonly used models for flood forecasting and warning system in Korea. This paper studies the physical significance of the storage function model by comparing it with kinematic wave model. The results showed universal applicability of the storage function model to Korean basins. Through a comparison of the basic equations for the models, the storage function model parameters, K, P and $T_l$, are shown to be related with the kinematic wave model parameters, k and p. The analysis showed that P and p are identical and K and $T_l$ can be related to k, basin area, and coefficients of Hack's law. To apply the storage function model throughout the southern part of Korean peninsular, regional parameter relationships for K and $T_l$ were developed for watershed area using data from 17 watersheds and 101 flood events. These relationships combine the kinematic wave parameters with topographic information using Hack's Law.

  • This study aims to investigate the interdependence of Korean middle and old-aged couples in the association between exercise and life satisfaction through grip strength trajectory. Data were drawn from the nationally representative Korea Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA) collected from 2006 to 2016. The sample included couples over 45 years of age in the first wave and participated in all six waves of the survey (Ncouple=1,997). There were three steps for analyses: correlation, parallel latent growth curve model, tests of indirect effects of the mediation paths. Covariates included in the models were husbands and wives' characteristics (age, education, work status, chronic diseases, marital satisfaction, contact frequency with friends or neighbors) and couple's household income. Results showed husbands' and wives' life satisfaction and grip strength were interdependent upon each other. Also, exercise participation of both husbands and wives was associated with both husbands' and wives' life satisfaction via the initial level of grip strength of husbands. Moreover, exercise participation of only husbands was associated with wives' life satisfaction through the initial grip strength of husbands. These results suggest the aging processes of middle and old-aged couples need to be understood in the context of gender dynamics and couple interdependence.

  • 현대사회에 유행처럼 자리잡은 웨이트 트레이닝의 부상률이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 가장 큰 부상 원인은 '무리한 동작'으로 자신이 수행할 수 있는 운동강도를 인지하지 못하여 근력 유지가 되지 않아 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 근력 유지 실패를 일으키는 원인인 '근피로도'를 검출하여 개인에게 적합한 운동 강도를 찾는 연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과, MNF 기울기 분석을 통해 운동 반복횟수가 증가함에 따라 근피로도가 커지는 것을 확인하였다. 향후, 잡음에 강한 매개변수를 바탕으로 연구가 이어진다면 웨이트 트레이닝의 부상률이 낮아질 것으로 사료된다.

Determination of the Critical Buckling Loads of Shallow Arches Using Nonlinear Analysis of Motion (비선형 운동해석에 의한 낮은 아치의 동적 임계좌굴하중의 결정)

  • For shallow arches with large dynamic loading, linear analysis is no longer considered as practical and accurate. In this study, a method is presented for the dynamic analysis of shallow arches in which geometric nonlinearity must be considered. A program is developed for the analysis of the nonlinear dynamic behavior and for evaluation of critical buckling loads of shallow arches. Geometric nonlinearity is modeled using Lagrangian description of the motion. The finite element analysis procedure is used to solve the dynamic equation of motion and Newmark method is adopted in the approximation of time integration. A shallow arch subject to radial step loads is analyzed. The results are compared with those from other researches to verify the developed program. The behavior of arches is analyzed using the non-dimensional time, load, and shape parameters. It is shown that geometric nonlinearity should be considered in the analysis of shallow arches and probability of buckling failure is getting higher as arches are getting shallower. It is confirmed that arches with the same shape parameter have the same deflection ratio at the same time parameter when arches are loaded with the same parametric load. In addition, it is proved that buckling of arches with the same shape parameter occurs at the same load parameter. Circular arches, which are under a single or uniform normal load, are analyzed for comparison. A parabolic arch with radial step load is also analyzed. It is verified that the developed program is applicable for those problems.

  • 본 연구는 머리운동 제어 시스템에 대한 생체 물리학적인 모델링과 시뮬레이션을 통하여 모델의 동특성을 조사하였으며, 생체운동(머리-안구)의 상호 관계를 비교하였다. 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 시스템을 구성하고 있는 매개변수의 변화가 출력에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 감도해석법을 써서 감도계수를 구한 결과, 입력 제어신호의 펄스높이(PH), 동근의 펄스폭(PW1), 길항근의 펄스폭(PW2)이, 시스템의 출력특성을 결정하는 가장 중요한 매개변수 임을 알 수 있었다. 2) 비 선형 제어모델의 선형화를 통하여 선형모델의 응답특성과 크나큰 차이가 없음을 알았다. 3) Main-Sequence도를 작성하여 실험 데이터와 비교한 결과, 거의 일치함으로서 모델의 타당성을 입증하였다. 4) 머리운동이 시간최적으로 응답하기 위해서는 bang-bang 제어법칙이 적용되어야 함을 알았다. 5) 머리운동이 목표점에 도달하는 순간에는 길항근의 역제통 펄스가 가해 짐으로서, 길항근이 궤적의 마지막 부분을 지배함을 알았다. 6) 머리-안구운동의 main-sequence도를 비교 함으로서 상호관계를 규명하였다. 앞으로는 이 모델링 법을 개선확장하면, 비행시 파일럿의 생체 시뮬레이션, 헬멧 조준 사격 시스템등의 항공공학, 생체의용공학 연구 및 제어입력을 생체신호로 하는 로봇틱스 연구에 본 연구 방법은 유용하리라 생각된다.

H.는 인체를 다수의 원형 실린더로 단순화하여 스키점프와 사이클 운동복의 항력계수를 각각 측정하였다. 이처럼 원형 실린더에 스피드 스케이팅 운동복을 씌운 모습과 골프공에서 사용하는 딤플의 2차원 형상이 서로 유사한 모양임을 착안하여, 2차원 원형 실린더 표면의 딤플이 유동 현상에 어떤 효과를 일으키는지 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 초기 형상을 토대로 3가지 딤플 형상 변수에 대한 매개변수 설정을 통해 항력계수를 비교하였다. 또한 3가지 딤플 형상 중 가장 낮은 항력계수를 갖는 딤플 형상에 대해서 요철 높이에 따른 항력계수를 비교하였다. 이를 통하여 딤플 형상이 각진 모양보다 둥근 모양일수록 항력계수가 작은 것을 확인하였으며, 요철 높이를 제외한 모든 조건이 동일할 때 최적의 요철 높이가 존재할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
