The influence on the oral health of dental clinic patients (치과 내원 환자들의 구강건강에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • 본 연구는 치과에 내원한 환자를 대상으로 치아우식증과 치주질환을 제외한 실제 구강건강도에 미치는 요인과 그 비중을 알아봄으로써 개인의 예방줌심 계속구강건강관리제를 운영하는데 기초자료로 이용하고자 한다. 2010년 7월 1일 부터 2010년 7월 30일까지 한 달간 유아기, 아동기, 청소년기, 청년기, 장년기, 노년기를 구분하여 각 연령별 40명씩 조사하여 6단계 연령층으로 총 240명을 대상으로 구강검사와 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 치과 내원 환자들은 연령이 적을수록 구강건강도가 높음을 알 수 있다. 전신질환이 없을수록, PHP가 높을수록, 설태가 없을수록, 구강보조용품을 적게 사용할수록, 음주/흡연을 하지 않을수록 TMJ가 높을수록, 구강감염/점막질환이 없을수록, 저작능력이 높을수록 구강건강도가 높음을 알 수 있다.

  • Dental plaque resides passively at a site and makes an active contribution to the maintenance of health. The bacterial composition of plaque remains relatively stable despite regular exposure to minor environmental stress. This stability, homeostasis is due to a dynamic balance of microbial interactions. However, the homeostasis can break down, leading to shifts in the balance of the microflora. This change can be a sign of initial dental caries. It is proposed that disease can be prevented or treated not only by targeting the putative pathogens but also by interfering with the processes that drive the breakdown in homeostasis. It is essential to understand the plaque as a mixed species biofilm. In this essay I reviewed an extension of the caries ecological hypothesis to explain the relation between dynamic changes in the phenotypic/genotypic properties of plaque bacteria and the demineralization and remineralization balance of the dental caries process. We will have the strategies to impact significantly on clinical practice as understanding dental biofilm.

  • The dental caries experiences of 'K' primary school children, 819 male and 653 female, aged from 6 to 12, total 1472 children was examined and obtained the followings : 1) The dental caries prevalence in primary dentition was 82.05% in male and 84.23% in female, and the average of both was 83.02% 2) The dft Index was 3.79 in male and 3.97 in female, and the average of both was 3.86 3) The dental caries prevalence in permanent dentition was 86.57% in male and 89.28% in female, and the average of both was 87.77% 4) The DMF Index was 3.47 in male and 3.58 in female, and the average of both was 3.58

  • Water fluoridation in conjunstion with wide use of fluoride dentifrices has been a major factor responsible for the decline in dental caries during the second half of the 20th century throughout the world. The history of water of water fluoridation is a classic public health program leading to epidemiologic investigation and community-based public health dentistry program. Although other fluoride-containing products are available, water fluoridation remains as the most safe and cost-effective method of delivering fluoride to omost communities. regardless of age. educational attainment. or income levels,. This review deals with pros and cons of water fluoridation and prospective analysis of state-of-the-art on issues related to the use of fluoride. An "optimal" fluoride concentration of 0.7-1.2 ppm has been recommended for preventing dental caries with a minimal dental fluorosis and no systemic health consequences.

  • 본 연구는 편백 에션셜 오일을 이용하여 치아우식증과 치주질환을 예방하기 위한 효과적인 구강양치액을 연구개발하고자 수행되었다. Streptococcus mutans에 대한 항미생물 효과 및 치면세균막 형성에 미치는 영향을 실험실연구(in vitro)와 전임상연구(preclinical observations)를 통해 조사하였다. 편백에센셜오일은 실험실 연구결과 S. mutans 성장 억제효과와 항미생물 효과를 보였고, 전임상시험 결과 자원자들의 치면세균막 지수가 감소하였다. 편백 에센셜 오일은 뛰어난 항미생물 효과와 치면세균막 억제를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 논문에서는 한국인 아동의 우식치아로부터 S. mutans를 분리하고, acid stress하에서 분리한 S. mutans의 유전자의 발현의 변화를 분석하고자 하였다. 치아우식증의 주요한 요소로 작용하는 치태형성에 기여하는 glucan 및 fructan 합성에 관여하는 세포내 효소인 glucosyltransferase, glucosyltransferase, glucosyltransferase 및 fructosyltransferase의 발현량의 변화를 확인한 결과, lactic acid를 처리하지 않은 control의 경우보다 16배에서 3배까지 감소한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Amino acid ABC transporter, adenylate kinase, fructokinase, 40k cell wall protein precursor에서는 모두 유전자의 발현량이 현저히 증가한 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이들 유전자는 acid stress에 관여하는 특이적 유전자로 추정된다.

The relationship between breastfeeding and early childhood caries (모유수유가 유아기 우식증에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between early childhood caries(ECC) and breastfeeding. Methods : Data of 670 children were derived from the Forth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2007 to 2009. Demographic and socioeconomic data, oral health related behavior, and breastfeeding practice data were collected as independent variables. The ECC was used as a dependent variable. The chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were performed to identify the relationship between ECC and the other variables. Results : Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that ECC was related with age, tooth brushing frequency, and breastfeeding practice. Conclusions : This study confirmed various risk indicators of ECC in Korean children, using Korean national survey data. Parents should begin an early and consistent mouth care regime to decrease the risk of ECC.

학교구강보건교육적측면에서 본 학교불소용액양치사업

  • 국민의 구강건강을 보호 증진시켜, 궁극적으로 복지사회를 실현시키기 위한 구강보건사업은 대상에 따라 모자구강보건 사업, 학교구강보건사업, 성인구강보건사업, 노인구강보건사업 등으로 분류할 수 있다. 그리고, 이들 구강보건사업 중에서 특히, 학교구강보건사업은 앞으로 우리나라의 주빈이 될 2세 국민을 대상으로 한다는 점과 또한, 구강에 빈발하여 구강건강장애를 많이 유발시키는 중대 구강병인 치아우식증과 부정교합은 국민학교 학령기에 빈발하고, 치주병도 치은염으로 국민학교 졸업기에 대개 발생되어, 일생의 구강건강기틀은 국민학교 학령기에 마련된다고 보아야 하므로, 구강보건사업 중에서도 학교구강보건사업이 가장 우선적으로 개발 추진되어야 한다.

  • 150 "K" primary school children, from 6 to 10 years old, have been examined both clinically and radiographically for proximal caries in deciduous canine and deciduous posterior teeth and permanent first molar teeth. 1. 598 proximal cavities were diagnosed 154 (25.75%) were revealed by both examinations. 39 (6.52%) appeared on clinical examination only, but 405 (67.73%) were revealed by radiographic examination only. 2. The dental caries occurance on distal surface of first deciduous molar and mesial surface of second deciduous molar were revealed much higher values in all ages. 3. There is no significant differences observed between right and left arch. 4. Proximal cavities were revealed 1.7 times more in mandible than in maxilla.
