A Comparative Study of Different Color Space for Paddy Disease Segmentation (벼 병충해분할을 위한 색채공간의 비교연구)

  • The recognition and classification of paddy rice disease are of major importance to the technical and economical aspect of agricultural industry over the world. Computer vision techniques are used to diagnose rice diseases and to efficiently manage crops. Segmentation of lesions is the most important technique to detect paddy rice disease early and accurately. A new Gaussian Mean (GM) method was proposed to segment paddy rice diseases in various color spaces. Different color spaces produced different results in segmenting paddy diseases. Thus, this empirical study was conducted with the motivation to determine which color space is best for segmentation of rice disease. It included five color spaces; NTSC, CIE, YCbCr, HSV and the normalized RGB(NRGB). The results showed that YCbCr was the best color space for optimal segmentation of the disease lesions with 98.0% of accuracy. Furthermore, the proposed method demonstrated that diseases lesions of paddy rice can be segmented automatically and robustly.

Object Analysis on Outdoor Environment Using Multiple Features for Autonomous Navigation Robot (자율주행 로봇을 위한 다중 특징을 이용하여 외부환경에서 물체 분석)

  • This paper describes a method to identify objects for autonomous navigation of an outdoor mobile robot. To identify objects, the robot recognizes the object from an image taken by moving robot on outdoor environment. As a beginning, this paper presents the candidates for a segment of region to building of artificial object, sky and trees of natural objects. Then we define their characteristics individually. In the process, we segment the regions of the objects included by preprocessing using multiple features. Multiple features are HSI, line segments, context information, hue co-occurrence matrix, principal components and vanishing point. An analysis of building identifies the geometrical properties of building facet such as wall region, windows and entrance. The building as intersection in vertical and horizontal line segment of vanishing point extracts the mesh. The wall region of building detect by merging the mesh of the neighbor parallelograms that have similar colors. The property estimates the number of story and rooms in the same floors by merging skewed parallelograms of the same color. We accomplish the result of image segmentation using multiple features and the geometrical properties analysis of object through experiments.

  • The BIM (Building Information Modeling) model created in the design stage can be used for prior review and schedule management for the construction stage. However, in the case of actual BIM application cases, additional work is required, such as creating a new model suitable for the construction stage, rather than using the 3D model in the design stage, due to the difference in the purpose of use between the design stage and the construction stage. Therefore, in this study, a division function of BIM model is proposed as a method of recycling it in the construction stage without a remodeling process. In addition, the application to the actual BIM model and the 4D CAD system linkage of the divided object and the comparison with the existing division method are used to verify the usability.

A Meshless Method Using the Local Partition of Unity for Modeling of Cohesive Cracks (점성균열 모델을 위한 국부단위분할이 적용된 무요소법)

  • The element free Galerkin method is extended by the local partition of unity method to model the cohesive cracks in two dimensional continuum. The shape function of a particle whose domain of influence is completely cut by a crack is enriched by the step enrichment function. If the domain of influence contains a crack tip inside, it is enriched by a branch enrichment function which does not have the LEFM stress singularity. The discrete equations are obtained directly from the standard Galerkin method since the enrichment is only for the displacement field, which satisfies the local partition of unity. Because only particles whose domains of influence are influenced by a crack are enriched, the system matrix is still sparse so that the increase of the computational cost is minimized. The condition for crack growth in dynamic problems is obtained from the material instability; when the acoustic tensor loses the positive definiteness, a cohesive crack is inserted to the point so as to change the continuum to a discontiuum. The crack speed is naturally obtained from the criterion. It is found that this method is more accurate and converges faster than the classical meshless methods which are based on the visibility concept. In this paper, several well-known static and dynamic problems were solved to verify the method.

전자장 해석에의 경계요소법 응용

  • 1960년대 후반 유한요소법인 전자장 수치해석에 응용되기 시작한 후 전기기기 특성해석, 성능예측 및 설계에 많은 도움을 주었다. 그동안 실제 모델에 응용된것은 거의가 2차원 문제에 국한되었다. 그러나, 최근 들어서는 각종 전기기기가 경량화, 소형화, 고효율화 됨에 따라 점차로 3차원 전자장 수치해석에 대한 요구가 급증하고 잇다. 앞서 언급한 바와 같이 유한요소법은 영역법의 일종으로 영역을 적절히 요소분할 하는데 어려움이 있다. 따라서 근래에 영역법의 문제점을 보완하기 위하여, 또한 영역법으 대용으로 경계법에 대한 연구가 점차로 증대되고 있다. 경계요소법은 주어진 지배방정식에 대한 Green 함수를 반드시 알아야만 하는 단점을 갖고 있으나 근래에 들어서는 광범위한 분야에 걸쳐 Grem함수가 이미 발전되어 있기 때문에 실제 응용에는 별 문제가 없으리라 생각된다.

Extraction of Facial Feature Component using Section Segmentation of Block-units (블록단위 영역분할을 이용한 얼굴 특징 요소 추출)

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴의 특징 추출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 입력 영상을 이진 영상으로 처리한 후, 얼굴 요소 후보 블록의 면적, 둘레, 원형도, 종횡비를 이용하여 불변하는 눈, 코, 입의 특징 요소를 추출한다. 사람의 얼굴에 대한 특징 요소를 추출하기 위하여 우선 이진 영상을 생성한다. 하나 하나의 고립된 영역으로 분리하기 위하여 화소 레이블링을 한 후 만들어진 얼굴 요소 후보 블록 단위로 면적을 구하고, 윤곽선 추적 방법에 의하여 둘레를 구한 다음 면적, 둘레, 원형도 및 종횡비의 유사도를 구한다 블록의 종합 유사도, 대칭적 거리, 위치의 유사도를 활용하여 눈, 코, 입을 추출한다. 추출된 각 특징 요소간의 거리와 각도를 이용하여 12개의 특징 인수를 구하는 제안 알고리즘을 수행함으로써 얼굴의 특징 인수들을 추출한다. 각 특징점 사이의 거리와 각 거리간의 기울기를 이용하여 100명으로부터 획득한 297개의 원 영상을 대상으로 12개의 특징 파라미터를 추출한 결과 92.93%의 추출 성공률을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 외부 환경의 영향을 덜 받는 눈, 코, 입의 위치 관계의 블록을 근거로 특징 요소를 추출할 수 있도록 제안 알고리즘을 구성하였던 것으로 판단된다.

  • This paper describes the numerical analysis techniques using the Combined Integration/Matrix Method to calculate ground potential rise which can be occurred in the various grounding systems. Combined Integration/Matrix Method is used to reduce the error and computation time with the analytical integration equation and the proper segmentaion of earth embedded conductor. To do it, optimal segmentaion method for the buried conductors is presented through error analysis which is capable of applying the practical scaled various grounding systems. The optimum length of segmented element is much co-related with the buried depth of grounding electrode and the maximum length of buried electrode. As a result, less 3 precent errors was obtained by proposed model. The proposed model is applied to verify an effect of multi-grounding problems which was aroused much controversy with separated or common grounding between the high power grounding system and low power grounding system such as signal and telecommunication grounding.

  • A three dimensional adaptive finite element refinement algorithm is developed for non-linear magnetostatic field problems. In the method, the edge elements are used for finite element formulation, and the local error in each element is estimated from the fact that the tangential components of magnetic field intensity and the normal components of magnetic flux density should be continuous at the interface of the two adjacent elements. Based on the estimated error, the elements which have big error are divided into several elements using bisection method. The effectiveness of the developed algorithm is proved through numerical examples.

  • 경계 요소법을 이용하여 Finely-focused ion beam 시스템을 위한 전계형 시뮬레 이터를 개발하였다. 경계 요소법을 시뮬레이터에 적용함으로써 기존의 유한 요소법, 차분근 사법에서는 피할 수 없었던 내부격자망 구성이 불필요하게 됨에 따라 계산속도를 현저히 줄 일 뿐만 아니라 불규칙 경계에 대한 요소분할이 가능하게 되어 최적렌즈구조 설계의 새로운 요소인 전극구조의 모양을 자유롭게 시뮬레이션 할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 개발된 시뮬레이 터를 이용하여 최적조건을 만족하는 구조를 제안한다. 이때 렌즈설계조건은 beam half-angle 3.0 mrad, working distance 50mm, 빔에너지 퍼짐 (beam energy spread) 10eV, 가속에너지 35keV이다.
