Secondary School Home Economics Teachers´ Educational Needs Analysis on Teaching Competency (중등학교 가정과 교사의 교수 능력에 관한 교육 요구 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to general needs and identify the educational needs for teaching competency of home economics teachers. based on their perception on teaching competency revealed in Previous studies. Data were collected from 1,104 schools selected by stratified sampling. based on school district, ranking and size. The 616 items of survey materials were collected from 417 schools and the levels of importance and performance were measured on Likert scale with 7- and 5- points, respectively. The analysis reveled that the educational needs for improving teaching competency were high in the following three areas out of seven areas. 1) interfacing ability with the local community and diverse human resources. 2) ability managing space and materials for learning 3) ability diversifying lesson development and evaluation ability. In addition. diversifying and professionalizing present development program for home economics teachers made higher score than improving education program for home economics teachers. These two needs of teachers showed significant differences according to their educational experiences and foundation types of their schools.

A Study on Demand and the Supply for Home-based Cancer Patient Management Projects of Public Health Centers (보건소 재기 암환자 관리사업에 대한 환자의 요구도 및 제공정도)

  • Purpose: As a part of the analysis of home-based cancer patients management of public health renters in cities, counties and districts across the nation, this study is to understand the degree of patient demands for that management and the degree and scope of the supply for the patient's demand. Methods: Developed the questionnaire which was constituted of degree of demand and supply for home-based cancer patient management and analyzed data centering on the frequencies and percentages by utilizing SPSS WIN 12.0. Results: The services provided through the home-based cancer patients management project include physical, emotional, spiritual and education/informative services. A survey was conducted for home-based cancer patients about these services, and its result showed that the degree of demand and supply was highest for emotional service, followed by education/informative service, spiritual service and physical service in the order of the demand-supply degree. When main items for each service were examined, it was found that: in the case of physical service, pain control was provided murk lower than its demand, while excretion disorder control and individual hygiene is provided murk more than its demand. In the case of emotional service, the degree of demand was overall higher than that of supply; spiritual service was provided appropriately to the degree of demand. Conclusion: This study examines the home-based canter patients management project of public health centers and compares and analyzes the degree of demand for patient services and the degree of services that are actually provided. The findings could be used as based data for the development of effective programs in future on the basis of actual demands of home-based cancer patients.

Requirements and Self-evaluation of Competencies Necessary to be Effective Nutrition Teachers Perceived by School Food Service Dieticians (학교급식 영양사가 인식하는 효과적인 영양교사의 역량 요구도와 자기 평가)

  • The purposes of the study were to identify a comprehensive competency list related to the jobs of nutrition teachers and to compare the competency needs for nutrition teachers and dieticians' competency levels. Job functional areas and a competency list for nutrition teachers were developed based on a review of literature and revised through expert panel reviews. A total of 53 competency statements associated with 11 job functional areas were specified. Questionnaires were distributed to 457 dieticians engaged in school food service and 148 responses were returned (response rate: 32.4%). Excluding incomplete responses, 142 questionnaires were used for data analysis. Approximately half of the respondents were enrolled in an 1-year nutrition teacher certificate program, 25% in a graduate school of nutrition education, and 19% had completed an 1-year nutrition teacher certificate program. The dieticians highly rated requirements of the competencies related to sanitation and employee safety, nutrition counseling, nutrition education, and teaching practices; in contrary, their competency levels for nutrition education, nutrition counseling, and teaching practices were low. Respondents' competency levels were significantly lower than the required competency levels of effective nutrition teachers in all functional areas. A quadratic analysis based on the requirement and self-evaluation of the competencies revealed that priorities of education programs targeting school nutrition teachers or students preparing to be nutrition teachers should be placed on improving competencies related to nutrition education, nutrition counseling, teaching practices, sanitation and employee safety, menu management, and human resource management. These results can be used to develop curriculum materials for basic and continuing professional education for nutrition teachers. It is necessary to review and update competencies regularly to reflect environmental changes in school food service programs.

Needs and Satisfaction of Cancer Patients on the Medical Services in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (제주지역 암환자의 의료서비스 요구도 및 만족도 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to investigate needs and satisfaction on the medical services of cancer patients in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Methods: Total 174 cancer patients, who visited at the clinic of Jeju National University Hospital, submitted informed consent and participated in this study from July 13 to July 30, 2009. Self questionnaire was used and data were analyzed with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Mann-Whitney U test, ANOVA, and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: Participants expressed the needs of most economical support (3.38 out of 4), followed by counseling of treatment plan (3.22), information of disease (3.07), and disease management except cancer (2.97). Participants were satisfied most with religious counseling (3.41), followed by nursing service support (3.39), employment counseling (3.26), and counseling for family or interpersonal relationships (3.26). The satisfaction of economical support was the lowest (1.98). Satisfaction of men was higher than women, and needs in patients who were living with children was the highest. Patients who were living alone or with children showed the lowest satisfaction about the medical services. There were no significant differences in the general characteristics, however, participants who were older than 60 years of age or had higher income showed lower needs and higher satisfaction. There were no significant differences in the medical characteristics, however, thyroid cancer patients and patients who were treated with radiation therapy or transarterial embolization showed low satisfaction. Conclusion: Cancer patients seemed to need more economical support, information of treatment or disease, and symptom management. Furthermore, there were various needs about the services, depending on family formation or economical support of patients. Therefore, it is certain that patients who were suffering from other cancers, except the 5 major cancers, needed more services. In conclusion, continuous and systemic policy to consider patient's characteristics and needs are needed in community as well as health care system.

Assistive Product Users' Need Analysis on Job Competence of Assistive Product Specialist (복지용구 전문가 직무 역량에 대한 복지용구 이용자 요구도 분석)

  • As the elderly population grows, the use of assistive products that facilitate independent living by the elderly is increasing. Assistive product specialists are important to selecting the correct assistive products. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp the needs of assistive product users. This study was conducted to identify the key tasks that should be prioritized through analysis of the needs of assistive product users of assistive product specialist's job competence Questionnaires were administered to 84 assistive product users in person and by mail. The questionnaire was designed to investigate the importance of work and educational needs based on the job of the assistive product specialist. Based on the results, the priorities of five duties and 12 key tasks were derived. The key tasks are highly demanded by assistive product users and must be included in the performance of the job of the assistive product specialist. Based on this study, it is expected that elderly people will gain independence and improve their quality of life in their homes and communities through an individualized approach.

A Study on the Effects of Server-Side Languages(Perl/CGI, PHP) on the Web Application Development Productivity and Developers' Satisfaction (Perl/CGI와 PHP의 비교를 통한 웹 어플리케이션 개발성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 프로그램 언어(Perl/CGI, PHP)가 웹 어플리케이션의 개발성과에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 정보시스템의 복잡성과 프로그램 언어에 따른 프로그램의 생산성 효과 이론 등과 같은 선행연구(Wrigley & Dexter, 1991; McFarlan, 1981; Ha & McLean, 1985)와 연구 대상인 Perl/CGI와 PHP에 관한 이론을 조사하였다. 이를 바탕으로 프로그램 인어(Perl/CGI, PHP)가 과업의 위험성(개발사 경험, 요구사항의 난이도)에 따라 개발성과 발생산성, 개발사 만족도)에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위한 모델을 개발하고 실험을 통해 이를 검증하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다. 사용 언어에 따른 집단별(초보자집단/전문가집단) 성과의 차이는 요구사항이 간단할 경우에는 초보자집단과 전문가집단 사이에 개발성과의 차이점을 발견할 수 없었다. 그러나 요구사항이 복잡할 경우에는 두 개의 프로그램 언어 모두에 대해 전문가 집단이 초보자 집단보다 개발성과가 높게 나타났다. 또한 사용 언어별 성과에서는 PHP를 사용하는 경우가 Perl/CGI를 사용하는 경우보다 개발자 경험이나 요구사항의 난이도와 관계없이 높은 개발성과를 보여 주었다.

A Convergence Study on the Necessity of General Hospital Workers Hospice Palliative Care Education (일반병원직원의 호스피스 완화의료 교육 요구도에 관한 융합 연구)

  • This study aims to identify the requirement of death, hospice palliative care education targeting nursing assistant and general workers among hospice palliative care private hospital workers convergencely. The survey period is from September 22 to October 21 in 2016, and 158 workers of hospice palliative care private hospitals in Chungnam region have been surveyed. Detailed results of this study are as follows. In terms of importance of theoretical and practical education in hospice palliative care education content, all of the respondents answered that practical had higher importance than theoretical education. The above results of this study are hoped to be helpful in developing customized hospice palliative care education program that is meeting characteristics and requirements of hospice palliative care private hospital workers, especially for nursing assistants as basic data.

Educational Needs and Self-Assessment for Competency of Newly Employed Therapists Using Sensory Integration Intervention (감각통합 중재를 사용하는 초임치료사의 교육요구도 및 역량에 대한 자기평가)

  • Objective : This study aimed to investigate the importance, performance, and educational needs of sensory integration intervention competency for newly employed therapists who use sensory integration intervention. Methods : The general characteristics, importance, performance, and educational needs of sensory integration intervention competency were investigated for therapists with less than three years of experience in sensory integration intervention. Educational needs and rankings were identified through Borich needs analysis. Results : The competency cluster that newly employed therapists perceived as the most important but with the lowest performance level was "Expertise," and the demand of the "Expertise" competency cluster was also the highest in the analysis of educational needs. The difference in importance and performance in all sub-competencies was statistically significant. In the Borich needs analysis, the rank of educational needs was derived as follows: "Evaluation skill" (5.56), "Analysis skill" (5.50), and "Overall knowledge of occupational therapy" (5.47). Conclusion : It was found that the newly employed therapist using sensory integration intervention recognized professional competency as the most important, while also recognizing that their professional competency was low. Accordingly, education to enhance professional competency was most needed. This study presented basic data for the direction of education to strengthen competency in consideration of the educational needs of newly employed therapists.

한국 교사들의 기업가정신 교육 역량 중요도: 실행도 분석

  • 최근 중등교육에서 기업가정신 교육에 대한 필요성에 대한 인식이 확산되면서, 현장에서 이를 실천할 교사의 역량이 중요해졌다. 본 연구는 기업가정신 교육을 실천할 교사들의 역량을 탐색하고 중요도와 실행도 차이를 분석함으로써, 교육 요구도의 우선순위를 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 TPACK(Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, 테크놀로지내용교수지식) 모델에 기반하여 기업가정신 교육 역량을 개념화하고, 이를 측정하기 위한 도구를 개발하였다. 이를 활용하여 기업가정신 교육에 관심이 있는 중등교사 217명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 중요도와 실행도의 차이를 분석하였다. 연구결과, TPACK의 모든 하위 요인에 대하여 중요도의 평균이 실행도의 평균보다 높아 교육적 처방이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 중요도-실행도 매트릭스에서 가장 개선의 우선순위가 높은 요인은 CK(내용지식)인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 교사들의 기업가정신 교육 역량 강화를 위한 시사점을 도출하였다.
