A Study on the Crack Response and Waterproof Properties of High-Functional Water-Based Acrylic Paints for Exterior Walls (고기능성 외벽용 수성 아크릴계 도료의 균열 대응성 및 방수 특성 평가 연구)

  • In this study, a comparative test was conducted on a specially developed elastic waterproof paint and general water-based paint for the purpose of responding to cracks occurring on the outer wall of concrete structures and improving watertightness. Through the comparative experiment, it was confirmed that the watertightness could be improved by securing the crack shielding property, and it was also confirmed that about 10 times more crack responsiveness was secured compared to general water-based paint. In addition, it was confirmed that the adhesion performance of at least 1.3MPa and resistance to a water permeation pressure of 0.1MPa were possible, confirming that stability was secured from a waterproofing perspective.

  • Research has begun to change the waterproofing design of domestic underground structure parts from the current negative-side waterproof design to the positive-side waterproof design. For this, active review from the design stage to prevent the ingress of external ground water into the waterproofing measures of the underground of apartment buildings is needed. Therefore, in this study, proper waterproofing method for the major leaks identified in the previous studies and a waterproofing method for the waterproof design of the underground floor and the outer wall is proposed. It is hoped that a follow-up study, such as a review of field applicability, for the proposed methods will provide an alternative to secure leakage stability in waterproof design.

Experiments on Flow Characteristics of Asphalt Seal Composite Waterproofing Method for Underground Concrete Structure Exterior Wall Waterproofing (지하 콘크리트 구조물 외벽 방수용 아스팔트 씰재 복합방수 공법의 흘러내림 특성에 관한 실험)

  • With the changing trend of the building construction to high rising and large scaling, the underground structure has been increased, and its usage also increased and variety. Hence, to protect the underground structure against underground water, various water proofing methods has been developed. Among the many water proofing methods, the combined water proofing method using both asphalt seal and sheet has been widely used to secure the sufficient performance and decrease the construction failure. However, during the summer period of extremely high temperature conditions, the asphalt sealing materials were separated and leaked into the structure. Therefore, the aim of the research is to provide the quality standard of asphalt sealing material based on the various temperature changes depending on seasons. According to the experimental results, the temperature of the sealing materials applied on the slab was increased up to $54^{\circ}C$ which was $3^{\circ}C$ higher than the structure temperature of $51^{\circ}C$. Based on the melting test for asphalt sealing materials applied on the outside wall of the structure, in the case of water-dispersing typed materials showed significant melting down due to its slow evaporation and low viscosity. Furthermore, from the accelerated test conducted indoor conditions, a solvent-type and water-dispersing typed materials showed significant melting down due to their low viscosity and melting point in ambient conditions. Based on these results, viscosity and melting point are found as the important factors on asphalt sealing materials' quality, and it is necessary to designate the quantitative level of the viscosity and melting point for quality control.

  • In this study, the performance evaluation of waterproof sealant materials applied to the outer wall of PC apartment houses was conducted. The sealant for PC members must have resistance to movement, and since it is exposed to outside air, weather resistance and water resistance are required.

  • The present study investigated the characteristics of vertical sagging down of high temperature in chamber and characteristics of vertical sagging down in the outdoor asphalt sheet and asphalt seal under korea ltimate condition using asphalt seal products of solvent based type, solventless type, water dispersion type, and heat melting type, which are currently applied in Korea. Prior to the investigation of outdoor vertical sagging down characteristics, the assessment of sagging down performance of single use of sealing products at $20^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$ was conducted and the result showed that sagging down did not occur at $20^{\circ}C$ but some solventless type, water dispersion type specimens at $40^{\circ}C$ had sagging down up to 10 mm. In addition, some solventless type, water dispersion type specimens had sagging down up to 55 mm at $60^{\circ}C$. For specimens to which asphalt seal and renovated asphalt sheet were layered over the outdoor concrete vertical surface, sheet sagging and sagging down occurred up to 50 mm in water dispersion specimens after three month later since the construction in summer.

  • In this study, the possibility of seismic performance design was proposed and the quality verification test method was reviewed as part of the design of waterproof performance in underground walls under accelerated environment conditions for waterproofing materials, which are barrier and finishing material that can prevent ingress or overflowing water from inside and outside of a building by attaching all of the construction materials used in construction structures. Considering the current state of earthquake-resistant design of construction materials in Korea and abroad, seismic product groups are rare and mostly dependent on construction methods because there are no regulations on materials, although there are still regulations on earthquake-resistant design in the building process under the current law. Overseas, it was possible to confirm that various building materials that gave seismic performance to non-structural materials, such as Japan, Canada, and Germany, are being developed. If it is possible to have a complementary response to earthquakes in the advanced external waterproofing materials, it can be expected to be applicable as leak prevention and prevention technology along with the seismic designed structure.

  • This study introduces and demonstrates the application of an experimental regime for anti-seismic performance evaluation of waterproofing materials to used for concrete pile walls. Concrete pile walls are subject to high degree of seismic load, and the occurring stress can affect the waterproofing integrity of the structure, but there is currently no existing methodology or standard for evaluating this property of waterproofing materials. To propose and conduct this evaluation, a new testing apparatus was designed and manufactured intended to be able to test an installed waterproofing material's seismic resistance performance.

Leakage Situation and Main Leakage Areas of Domestic Residential Building Underground Parking Lots (국내 공동주택 지하주차장의 누수 실태 및 주요 누수 부위 조사)

  • This paper studies the leakage situation of domestic residential building underground parking lots and main leakage areas. 18 complexes were studied and the results showed that 80% of buildings with exterior waterproofing had no leakage, but all buildings with interior waterproofing had leakage. According to a survey among professionals, water leakage problems are considered to be severe in underground parking lots and a preventative measure is required by the government. By comparing the survey and the actual situation at hand, the results showed that the lowest floor slab, wall construction joints, and floor expansion joints were the most prone to leakage. Based on the results, further study to develop a design manual for the appropriate prevention of leakage is deemed necessary.

  • Generally, the envelope of a freeform building is composed of a structure made with rectangular or C-shaped steel pipe, and steel or aluminum panel finishes on the structure. However, these construction methods increase material loss and cost and time. There are also numerous cases of misunderstanding of design and difficulties in construction, which frequently cause construction errors. Such construction errors decrease construction productivity, resulting in poor construction quality and the need for rework, as well as cost and time overruns. To solve the problem, this study proposes a 3D coordinate control technology for freeform structure implemented through a CNC(Computerized Numerical Control) Twisted tube method, and by extension, develops a BIM-based envelope construction method for freeform building.

  • The Crack, occurred in the concrete structure, is a major cause of function deterioration such as strength, durability and waterproof. Therefore the need for crack reduction will continue as long as there is concrete structure. But, it is not easy to reduce or prevent crack cause of impact factor of it. There are so many factors of crack such as material, construction and maintenance environment, and structure, and these are acting in combination. So, this study derives a correlation between the cracks and members through reviewing member crack occurred. And member's attribute, related crack, is analyzed by it. It consider that the basic attribute of member is similar when its requirements are similar. Through this study, therefore, foundation of countermeasure of crack will be provided by prediction of crack shape through member's attribute.
