OntCIA: Software Change Impact Analysis System Based on the Semantic Web (OntCIA: 시맨틱 웹 기술 기반의 소프트웨어 변경 영향분석 시스템)

  • Software change is an essential operation for software evolution. To maintain the system competently, managers as well as developers must be able to understand the structure of the system but the structure of software is hidden to the developers and managers who need to change it. In this paper, we present a system (OntCIA) for supporting change impact analysis for rating and billing domain based on the semantic web technology. The basic idea of OntCIA is to build a domain knowledge base using an OWL ontology and RDF to implement change impact analysis system that would support the managers and software developers in finding out information about structure of large software system. OntCIA allows users to incrementally build an ontology in rating and billing domain and provides useful information in response to user queries concerning the code, such as, for example 'Find the modules which have a role for confirming new subscription'. The strengths of OntCIA are its architecture for easy maintenance as well as semantic indexing by automatic reasoning.

Semantic Video Retrieval Based On User Preference (사용자 선호도를 고려한 의미기반 비디오 검색)

  • To ensure access to rapidly growing video collection, video indexing is becoming more and more essential. A database for video should be build for fast searching and extracting the accurate features of video information with more complex characteristics. Moreover, video indexing structure supports efficient retrieval of interesting contents to reflect user preferences. In this paper, we propose semantic video retrieval method based on user preference. Unlikely the previous methods do not consider user preferences. Futhermore, the conventional methods show the result as simple text matching for the user's query that does not supports the semantic search. To overcome these limitations, we develop a method for user preference analysis and present a method of video ontology construction for semantic retrieval. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than previous methods in terms of semantic video retrieval based on user preferences.

A Constrained Learning Method based on Ontology of Bayesian Networks for Effective Recognition of Uncertain Scenes (불확실한 장면의 효과적인 인식을 위한 베이지안 네트워크의 온톨로지 기반 제한 학습방법)

  • Vision-based scene understanding is to infer and interpret the context of a scene based on the evidences by analyzing the images. A probabilistic approach using Bayesian networks is actively researched, which is favorable for modeling and inferencing cause-and-effects. However, it is difficult to gather meaningful evidences sufficiently and design the model by human because the real situations are dynamic and uncertain. In this paper, we propose a learning method of Bayesian network that reduces the computational complexity and enhances the accuracy by searching an efficient BN structure in spite of insufficient evidences and training data. This method represents the domain knowledge as ontology and builds an efficient hierarchical BN structure under constraint rules that come from the ontology. To evaluate the proposed method, we have collected 90 images in nine types of circumstances. The result of experiments indicates that the proposed method shows good performance in the uncertain environment in spite of few evidences and it takes less time to learn.

A Method for Access Control on Uncertain Context (불확정 상황정보 상에서의 접근제어 방식)

  • New information technologies make it easy to access and acquire information in various ways. However, It also enable powerful and various threat to system security. The prominent database technology challenging these threats is access control. Currently, to keep pace with the new paradigms, new extended access control methods are challenged. We study access control with uncertain context. With respect to access control, it is possible that there is a discrepancy between the syntactic phrase in security policies and that in queries, called semantic gap problem. In our semantic access control, we extract semantic implications from context tree and introduce the measure factor to calculate the degree of the discrepancy, which is used to control the exceed privileges.

  • 기존의 정보검색시스템이 사용자의 질의에 의해 키워드가 포함된 의미 있는 문서를 제공하는 시스템이라면, 질의응답시스템은 사용자 질의에 맞는 정답을 적절한 언어처리 기법을 통해 텍스트로부터 추출하여 제공하는 시스템이다. 이러한 언어처리 기법을 이용한 질의응답 시스템에서 시스템의 성능 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있는 것이, 실세계의 지식을 저장하고 있는 지식베이스라 할 수 있다. 지식베이스가 가지고 있는 실세계의 지식을 어떻게 효율적으로 활용하느냐에 따라 질의 처리 분석과 정답 확률을 향상시킬 수 있는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 실세계의 지식을 어느 정도 체계적 의미적으로 반영하고 있는 것을 백과사전으로 판단하여, 백과사전의 '인물' 범주(category)를 중심으로 백과사전 지식베이스의 틀을 마련하고자 하였다. 또한 어휘의 계층적 구조를 중심으로 한 온톨로지를 백과사전 지식베이스와 유기적으로 연결시킴으로써 보다 의미 있는 지식베이스를 형성하는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다.

Architectural Reference Model for Semantic Library (시맨틱 라이브러리를 위한 아키텍처 참조 모델)

  • The current technological revolution pushes forward the innovation in the library information systems. This study proposes functional requirements and an architectural reference model of Semantic Library, recognized as a prototype of next-generation library information systems, that is a seamless convergence of the library information systems and the Internet technologies. Semantic Library can realize semantic interoperability and integration based on ontology and metadata, and also renovate information services for users with openness, sharing, participation and collaboration. Semantic Library will be effectively implemented by means of service-oriented architecture and the logical structure of FRBR. In this study, a reference model of Semantic Library consisting of 6 horizontal layers and 3 vertical elements is presented as a next-generation model of library information systems.

  • 본 연구는 2인의 전문의와 함께 의료 문헌의 초록을 분석하여 의료문서에서의 절차적 지식을 모델링하고 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 적용하여 절차적 지식을 추출하는 방법론에 대해 기술한다. 절차적 지식은 목적과 해법의 묶음으로, 해법은 다시 단위 절차 지식의 네트워크로 정의 하였고, 목적과 해법 정보 추출과 단위 절차 지식의 구성요소인 대상/행위/방법 개체를 인식하기 위해, 품사태깅, 구문분석, 술어-논항구조(Predicate-Argument Structure), 온톨로지 용어 매핑 정보 등에 기반한 기계학습 방법을 사용하였다. 실험을 위해 전문의와 함께 위함과 척추질환에 대한 1309 문서에 절차적 지식 태깅을 수행하였고, 이 문서 집합을 기반으로 목적/해법 추출 작업과 단위 절차 지식(대상질병/행위/적용방법) 추출 실험을 수행하여, 각각 82% 와 63%의 F-measure 값을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • There are technological, operational and environmental constraints at tactical edge, which are disconnected operation, intermittent connectivity, and limited bandwidth (DIL), size, weight and power (SWaP) limitations, ad-hoc and mobile network, and so on. To overcome these limitations and constraints, we use service-oriented architecture (SOA) based technologies. In our research, we propose a hierarchical mission service model that supports service-oriented mission planning and execution in order for a commander to operate various SW required for mission in battlefield environment. We will also implement development tools that utilize the workflow technology and semantic capability-based recommendation and apply them to combat mission scenarios to demonstrate effectiveness.

  • 과거 유비쿼터스 기술의 출현 이후로 사물에 간단한 인식 센서를 이용한 형태의 서비스가 널리 보급되었고, 스마트 기기의 발달로 인해 PC가 아닌 환경에서도 인터넷을 사용하기 용이한 환경이 정착되어, 이들을 이용한 사물 인터넷 (Internet of Things) 환경이 빠르게 확산중이다. 본 논문에서는 상황 인식 서비스와 추론 서비스를 사물 인터넷 환경에 적용 시킨 스마트 홈 상황인식 추론 프레임 워크의 설계 및 구현을 서술한다. 해당 프레임 워크는 실질적인 상황 정보를 제공하는 이기종의 사물 인터넷 기기 간 데이터 타입을 수용하기 위해 온톨로지 언어인 OWL 규격을 사용하여 상황 정보를 수용하고, 룰 입력 모듈을 통해 다양한 환경을 모델링 할 수 있는 XML 규격의 서비스 룰을 입력받는다. 이후, 상황 정보와 서비스 룰을 기반으로 추론엔진을 통해 상황을 추론하여, 단순히 조건 만족 시 실행 구조가 아닌 상황 기반의 추론에 의한 서비스를 제공하게 된다. 프레임 워크를 활용 방안을 설명하기 위해 예제 방범 시나리오를 통해 해당 프레임 워크의 특징 및 서비스의 흐름을 서술한다.

  • Semantic web portal is expected to overcome the shortcomings of the current web portals through advanced semantic web technologies and to be an effective and efficient method of knowledge sharing. In order to contribute to the knowledge sharing, semantic web portal needs to construct and integrate ontologies of each organization. Also, it needs to support search and navigation of inter-related knowledge. In this paper, we will design a semantic web portal that satisfies such requirements in the domain of display industry, and construct an ontology which links various knowledge of different fields. Moreover, we want to suggest an effective and automatic search/navigation method that supports customers who do not know the details of an ontology to easily get the desired results.
