  • Recently, artificial intelligence and SW have occupied an important position worldwide as the foundation technology of the era of the 4th industrial revolution, and web browser-based programming learning systems are becoming common due to changes in the learning environment caused by COVID-19. In accordance with this trend, this paper proposes a functionally scalable microservice-based system structure for an online evaluation system as a tool for learning algorithms that are the basis of artificial intelligence and SW. In addition, a functional structure for applying machine learning to automatic evaluation functions under the proposed system structure is also proposed.

  • Since online shopping has become common, people can easily buy fashion goods anytime, anywhere. Therefore, consumers quickly respond to various environmental variables such as weather and sales prices. Therefore, utilizing big data for efficient inventory management has become very important in the fashion industry. In this paper, the changes in sales volume of fashion goods due to changes in temperature is analyzed via the proposed big data analysis algorithm by utilizing actual big data from Korean fashion company 'A'. According to the simulation results, it was confirmed that Bidirectional-LSTM(Bi-LSTM) compared to LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) takes more simulation time about more than 50%, but the prediction accuracy of non-periodic time series data such as clothing product sales data is the same.

  • This study is intended to analyze flipped classroom learning activities, which have recently been spotlighted as a learner-centered teaching method in universities, from the perspective of cultural and historical activity theory. A survey and some participation observations were conducted with one professor and the students who participated in Educational Methods and Technology courses at A university. The components of the flipped classroom learning activities were analyzed based on the model of the activity system, and contradictions that appeared in the interactions between components were analyzed. Four implications were proposed for a more advanced flipped classroom learning activity system: the professor's and the learners' true identity recognition and role performance, strengthening the organic link between online and offline activities, support for alleviating the burden of teaching and learning preparation, and readjusting the system to support its smooth operation.

  • The study developed a psychiatric and mental health nursing practice program based on blended learning as nursing students' field practice in psychiatric and mental nursing practice was limited due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. This is a study to evaluate the effect on communication competency, self-efficacy for group work, and learning transfer motivation through a psychiatric and mental health nursing practice program based on blended learning. From October 18, 2021 to December 11, 2021, 64 nursing students participated in the study using a structured Google questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired t-test using the SPSS 25.0 program. As a result of the study, based on blended learning, the subjects' communication competency, self-efficacy for group work, and learning transfer motivation were significantly increased after compared to before psychiatric and mental health nursing practice education. Through the results of this study, it was possible to confirm the effect of the psychiatric and mental health nursing practice program based on blended learning.

  • The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of non-face-to-face classes conducted due to the COVID-19 crisis. In order to achieve this goal, a non-face-to-face class with flipped learning was applied in one subject of clothing major held at 'S' University in Cheongju, Korea. In addition, this study tried to analyze the differences between pre- and post-non-face-to-face classes in problem analysis ability, resource/information/technology literacy, convergent thinking ability as core competencies, and overall learning satisfaction. As a result, after participating in the non-face-to-face class in which the flipped learning was applied, the students recognized that their abilities improved in the three problem-solving competency sub-areas, and their overall learning satisfaction also increased. The effectiveness of non-face-to-face classes in the field of clothing and fashion has been mainly measured in fashion design and clothing construction courses. However, based on the results of this study, it can be suggested that non-face-to-face classes in a theory-oriented lecture-type class can be effective methods for improving students' core competencies such as problem-solving skills if teaching-learning methods such as flipped learning are applied. Therefore, the results of this study will be useful data for designing differentiated non-face-to-face class strategies in a theory-oriented lecture-type class to improve the core competencies of college students.

  • This study aims to provide a science history content system necessary in the course design process of liberal arts subjects, along with the application of flip learning in liberal arts science classes for humanities and social sciences students. For the research, we analyzed the current state of the liberal arts and history of science classes at universities. Then we developed the 'Understanding the History of Science' subject by applying the flip learning method through the analysis of various previous studies. As the goal of science history lectures that can reach the essential purposes of science liberal arts education, including knowledge acquisition and strengthening various competencies, scientific attitude cultivation was set, and the content system of week 15 was designed to consider this. The four topics corresponding to the "History of Science" part of the "Understanding Science History" content system consisted of flipped learning classes and teaching and learning activities, including online video materials and group discussion activities. As a result of opening courses for students in the humanities and social sciences and operating classes for 56 college students, it was confirmed that students' interest and awareness of science increased. This study provides educational evidence for science history and liberal arts education.

  • This study, for learners using online and offline tools, understood the structural relationship of user experience of smart learning app on continuous use intention through the technology acceptance model, and classified the learning type characteristics. In addition, based on the experience of using the smart learning app, we explored ways to improve the design of the user experience design for learning tools and contents. For this purpose, the usage perception of 84 middle and high school students of the developed smart learning learning app was investigated after using it for 2 months, and the data were analyzed using the PLS structural equation technique. The main results of this study are as follows. First, system and content user experience had a significant effect on perceived usability and perceived ease of use, and the effect on continued use intention through attitude was significant. Second, there was a significant difference in the effect of system user experience on perceived usefulness in multi-group comparative analysis and gender group. In the preferred learning group, it was the path from perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness to attitude and intention to continue using that showed a significant path difference. Third, as a result of classifying the most commonly used learning types by the multidimensional scale method, the types separated into low dimensions were found to be four types: offline sync type, online sync type, ubiquitous learning type, and self-direct learning type.

  • We analyze the online Hangul handwriting recognition problem (HHR) and present solutions based on recurrent neural networks. The solutions are organized according to the three kinds of sequence labeling problem - sequence classifications, segment classification, and temporal classification, with additional consideration of the structural constitution of Hangul characters. We present a stacked gated recurrent unit (GRU) based model as the natural HHR solution in the sequence classification level. The proposed model shows 86.2% accuracy for recognizing 2350 Hangul characters and 98.2% accuracy for recognizing the six types of Hangul characters. We show that the type recognizing model successfully follows the type change as strokes are sequentially written. These results show the potential for RNN models to learn high-level structural information from sequential data.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the effect of flipped learning in hand sewing practice. The flipped learning class was designed to three steps(pre-class, in-class, after-class). Pre-class: Students learned kinds of hand sewing by watching video and ppt. In-class: Students were evaluated for their prior learning through the quiz. After the quiz, instructor had a brief hand sewing demonstration. Then basic hand sewing practice was progressed. After that advanced project(making things using more than 3 kinds of hand sewing methods) was progressed. After-class: Students were evaluated each other through project exhibition. The effectiveness of flipped learning was measured based on the students' self-reflective journals and class awareness surveys. As the results, students were actively participated in flipped learning and satisfied with the overall quality of the flipped learning class. They said that videos, project & feedback were helpful in understanding hand sewing. Flipped learning applied to hand sewing practice showed more positive learning effect than the general practice class.
