The Effect of Motivation for Using Mobile Social Network Games on the Game Attitude, Continuous Use Intention and Intention to Recommend the Game (모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임 이용 동기가 게임태도와 지속적 이용의도 및 추천의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to review the usage behavior of mobile social network games that are attracting attention as a new growth engine in the game market. To that end, a survey was conducted on 250 male and female university students. The result of the study showed that first, the relationship formation motivation and seeking fun during leisure times in association with mobile social network games had a positive effect on game attitudes. Second, the relationship formation motivation had a positive effect on the continuous use intention. Third, the relationship formation motivation and the fun-seeking motivation had a positive effect on word-of-mouth recommendation, while the relationship formation motivation and advertisement recommendation motivation had a positive effect on the intention to recommendation online formats. Fourth, the attitude towards mobile social network games had a positive effect on the continuous use intention. Lastly, the attitude towards mobile social network games had a positive effect on only the intention to recommendation through word-of-mouth. This study is expected to provide useful and basic data for the development of quality game content that will cater to users' needs.

  • The domestic game industry has constantly developed in a short time by concentrating on online games, and keeps growing as a highly added value industry. Also, in the social aspect, it has been seeking various alternatives to place online games as positive and new play culture in the digital era by avoiding negative criticism on game addictiveness. One of important factors in expanding the infrastructure of the game industry and developing it as a type of culture is not simply to develop the existing core genres (on the basis of profits), but to promote the approach of mixture with various contents and of positive functions and thereby enlarge users through various game genres. That is, it is to design games with positive themes and easy immersion by targeting a variety of game users. Such expansion of game design approach is a starting point to develop the infrastructure of the game industry. In the aspect, training professional human resources on the basis of academic and educational process is of significance. Therefore, this work was intended to suggest examples of design approach education based on creativity subject among various subjects with positive functions, and then propose an education process to which Capstone design education contents were applied.

  • A study on network traffic analysis and modeling has been exclusively done due to its importance. However, conventional studies on network traffic analysis and modeling only focus on transmitting simple packet stream or traffic features of specific application, such as HTTP. In this paper, we propose a network traffic generator, which reflects the characteristics of multimedia data. To analyze the traffics of online game, which is one of the most popular multimedia contents, we modeled the distribution according to the time between packets and packet size random variable and designed the traffic generator which has the model for input. We generated the traffics of L4D(Left4Dead), WoW(World of Warcraft) with proposed network traffic generator and we found that the generated traffics have similar distributions with real data.

  • The basic strategy of OSMU(One-source Multi-use) in digital image is a marketing that applying one source to other genres for leverage based on that cross-referencing in different genre enabled that one material(one-source) has synergy effect when reproduced to various products(multi-use) as cultural sources are available through on-line and digital format. Recently, according to the characteristics of culture industry with Window Effect, many culture contents such as movies, games, animations and characters are carefully planned at its design stage to get the maximum effect. Especially, the fact that one leading-trend source makes it easier to produce additional products with the least cost is observed and it enables organized management which resulted in low marketing and PR cost. This paper confirmed that OSMU strategy in Korea mainly get started from online to offline comparing to Japan and USA.

A Study on Interaction Design for Improving Usability of Random item box in Korean Mobile Game (국내 모바일 게임의 확률형 아이템 사용성 개선을 위한 인터랙션 디자인에 관한 연구)

  • This study is an interaction design study which can improve the usability of random item boxes that are used as in - game contents in Korean mobile games. Currently, Korean mobile game sales continue to rise. Sales of random item boxes are the main reason for the increase in sales. Problems with the use of random item boxes have been continuously raised, and legal regulations are currently in place. When using random item boxes, the user can not know the exact percentage information. There is a concern that this expresses gambling. In this context, we have studied interaction design to improve the usability of random item boxes, and conducted user online surveys and in - depth interviews to provide users with a better game experience. As a result, it is shown that providing percentage information intuitively when using random item boxes can enhance user experience. Through this study, it is expected that interaction design research will be actively conducted to provide a better user experience when using random item boxes.

Factors Affecting User Satisfaction of Mobile Social Network Games: Focusing on the Quality and Self-determination (모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임 이용만족에 영향을 미치는 요인: 품질과 자기결정성 요인을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate and identify what factors influence the satisfaction of the users for the fast-growing social network game based on the mobile. To this end, we looked around the variable product characteristic factor, quality and the consumer characteristic factor, user self-determination. Also we surveyed 211 male and female college students. The first finding was that all the sub-factors of the quality factor had positive effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games. The second finding was that all the sub-factors of the self-determination factor had positive effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games. The third finding was that only the sub-factors of quality had positive relative effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games, in the order of playfulness, usability, functionality from the most to the least. The findings of this study are expected to offer meaningful and practical suggestions for the development of high quality game contents for the user convenience, as well as the academic significance, the expansion of game-related area of research through the break from the traditional research trends, technology and engineering point of view and from the PC-based online game.

The Collision Processing Design of an Online Distributed Game Server (온라인 분산게임 서버의 충돌처리 설계)

  • Recently, a MMORPG(Massively Multi-play Online Role Playing Game) has built distribute server by Seamless world. This paper proposes an efficient collision detection method. DLS is used to dynamically adjust spatial subdivisions in each the boundary regions of distribute server We use an index table to effectively utilize the relationships between in the nodes and can perform the collision detection efficiently by reconstructing nodes of the tree. Also, we maintain the information for the boundary region to efficiently detect the collections and adjust the boundary regions between distributed servers by using DLS. As the DLS uses pointers, the information for each server is not needed and the boundary regions between the distributed servers are efficiently searched. Using node index points, the construction table can be made to find between ray and neighborhood node, In addition, processes for Network traffic reduce because a copy of the boundary regions is not needed when a object moves with realtime.

  • 메타버스는 1992년 스노크래시(Snow Crash)라는 소설에 의해 그 개념이 소개되었다. 그 이후 여러 발전 과정을 거쳐 개념이 정리되었지만, 메타버스가 본격적으로 이슈화된 것은 코로나19 팬더믹으로 인해 사람들의 생활 패턴이 오프라인에서 온라인으로 급격하게 변화하면서 부터이다. 현재 세계적인 대기업들도 메타버스에 대한 많은 투자를 하고 있으며, 수많은 메타버스 플랫폼이 출시되고 있다. 하지만, 처음에는 분명 매력적으로만 보였던 메타버스에 대해 대중들에게 점차 의문을 표하고 있다.. 메타버스의 어떠한 부분이 이러한 인식 변화를 가져왔는지 연구/분석하며, 메타버스의 개념적 한계를 극복하기 위한 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Recently, the number of People who want to study by online has been gradually increased. In addition, people's desire is increasing that represents their special knowledge and personality with new paradigm of UCC(User Created Contents). Most of the educational web-sites offer currently boring and unified educational contents without interesting objects. Therefore I want to solve these problems of existing online educational web-sites and I strongly propose the method of design to make the place educational and useful that everyone can enjoy and manifest the user's dispositions. On this study, it's possible to make pleasant environment and improve educational effects on cyber space by designing it in accordance with the individual tastes which have various design elements, beauties and facilities by the customized design method. As a result, this study proposes the model of online educational web-site having various interfaces and focusing on the customized design.

An Ecosystem Model and Content Research of the Satellite Information Utilization Business (위성정보 활용 사업의 생태계 모델과 콘텐츠 연구)

  • Satellite-derived data is collected by observing the Earth and is used in various fields such as national defense, natural disasters, location-based services, infrastructure, environment, energy, marine, and insurance. This study aims to present the virtuous cycle structure of the satellite information data industry and the business ecosystem model of the industry. As a research method, cases were collected and categorized from the following areas: literature, online, application, and content. The results show that the ecosystem model of the satellite information data industry provides an approach to content services in public and commercial areas, and develops various algorithmic technologies to facilitate content production and services at the level of complex general-purpose technologies. Second, in terms of content typology, satellite information data can be subdivided into monitoring content, urban space monitoring content, and satellite information content. Third, the consumption value of satellite content could be subdivided into informational value, environmental, social and governance (ESG) value, educational value, and content value. In order to expand the global content market, Korea will need to focus on creating an ecosystem for the satellite information industry and discovering differentiated content. It will also need to increase the popularization and accessibility of data to the general public and promote the Korean K-Satellite Information Data Industry ecosystem through government support, policy efforts, and policies such as establishing legal systems, increasing investment, and training human resources.
