오픈소스 소프트웨어는 이제 거스를 수 없는 대세로 자리 잡았다. 모든 영역에서 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 제외하고는 의미 있는 가치를 생산하기 어려워졌으며, 이 때문에 오픈소스 기술, 문화, 방법론, 법적인 이슈 등에 관한 교육이 여러 수준에서 필요하다. 이 글에서는 오픈소스 소프트웨어 관한 현황을 간단히 요약하고, 이전에 이루어졌던 오픈소스 소프트웨어 교육 사례를 살펴보았다. 그리고, 오픈소스 소프트웨어 교육을 한다고 할 때, 다루어져야할 주요 주제들에 관하여 설명하였다. 오픈소스를 모르는 개발자는 이제 설 땅이 없는 시기가 도래했다. 역량 있는 개발자 양성, 연구 개발 결과가 널리 확산되어 혁신을 주도하는 것을 목표로 하는 학교와 연구소, 산업에서 오픈소스 소프트웨어가 더 활성화 되고, 더 많은 인력들이 오픈소스 소프트웨어에 익숙해지기를 기대한다.

오픈소스 소프트웨어란 소스 코드를 공개한 상태로 공급되는 소프트웨어를 말한다. 오픈소스 소프트웨어의 개발 방법은 오픈소스 소프트웨어 프로젝트에 관심이 있는 개발자의 자발적인 참여로 이루어진다. 오픈소스 소프트웨어 개발 방식은 대부분 소프트웨어개발 방법론적인 측면이 적용되지 않기 때문에 일반적인 소프트웨어에 비해서 신뢰성이 떨어진다는 평가를 받는 원인이 되고 있다. 또한 일반 소프트웨어 개발과 비교해서 분산된 개발자들의 소스 공유 및 의견 교환과 합의 도출 방법이 필요하기 때문에 오픈소스 소프트웨어 개발에 일반적인 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 적용할 수가 없다. 따라서 일반적인 소프트웨어 개발 방법과 프로젝트 관리 기법에서 공개 소프트웨어 개발을 위해 필요한 부분들을 도출하여 오픈소스 소프트웨어 개발에 적용할 수 있도록 커스터마이징한 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 위한 소프트웨어 개발 모델을 제안한다.

The open source software is widely used nowadays so that means developing software without using open source software can hardly imagine. However, the developer's recognition about the license statements that defines the requirements in accordance with the use of open source is relatively low and a few study is associated with this topic. Therefore, this study examines the use of open source in software development in the context of EDISON project in the national research and development project. Furthermore, the study attempts to suggest the advanced model from simply avoiding license conflicts to constructing the open source project ecosystem including the choose of representative open source, the development of open source communities and contributor agreements.

최근들어 꾸준히 증가하고 있는 오픈소스를 통한 소프트웨어 개발에 대한 관심과 참여는 국가적 규모의 지원과 활성화 방안에 대한 연구로 이어지고 있다. 그중에서 오픈소스 개발환경의 한 요소인 개발자들에 대한 이해는 가장 모든 관련연구에 우선하는 핵심적인 연구주제로 다루어져 왔으며, 연구자들은 국제적인 규모의 프로젝트를 대상으로 어떤이들이 무슨 동기로 참여하고 있는가에 대한 질문을 위주로 연구해왔다. 본 연구는 국지적 관점을 추가하여 이러한 연구노력의 연장선상에서 오픈소스 개발에 참여하고 있는 한국인 개발자들을 대상으로 탐색적으로 살펴본다. 본 연구는 한국인 오픈소스 개발자들은 누구인가라는 질문에 대한 답변을 기술통계적 분석기법을 이용하여 시도하고, 또 한국인 참가자들 오픈소스개발 참여에 대한 내재적인 동기와 외적(또는 환경적)동기에 대해 기존 연구들과 비교분석을 통해 이해하려고 시도한다. 이와같은 비교관찰을 토대로 한국의 오픈소스 개발환경에 대한 좀 더 포괄적인 지식을 얻어낼 수 있을 것으로 기대되며, 또 오픈소스 개발과 관련한 기타 연구에 있어 인적요소에 대한 이해를 증진시키는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 본 연구는 방법론으로써 각종 국내외 오픈소스 프로젝트들에 가입하여 활동중인 한국인 개발자들을 대상으로 전자메일을 이용한 사전조사(설문)를 실시하였다.

Open Source Software (OSS) is a new paradigm for software development. The system is based on the notion of giving software (including sources) away for free, and making money on services, customizing and maintenance. For these reasons, many software companies have considered adopting and using OSS in Software R&D. A variety of factors may influence the use of decision making of OSS. The objective of this study was to explore the significant factors affecting the use decision of OSS and the job performance of OSS usage in software R&D. A research model was suggested based on the TOE Framework and Information Systems Success Model. These findings show that technical benefits of OSS have significant effects on OSS use. The technical benefits of OSS, and organization context, in turn, have significant effects on the use of OSS. On the other hand, the technical risks of OSS and the environment context have no effects on OSS use. In addition, OSS use and user satisfaction have significant effects on the individual job performance. This research contributes towards advancing the theoretical understanding of the OSS Benefits and Performance in Software Development.

Companies that use open source SW must comply with the "Open Source SW License" in order to use it freely. However, despite the potential legal responsibilities and risks associated with compliance, they do not know or neglect the risks. For this reason, cases of disputes, including license violations, are soaring. Recently, Open source SW license compliance platform services have been developed and actively utilized to address these issues. This study designed a business model for open source SW license compliance platform and conducted an economic feasibility analysis. The focus of the study is the establishment of a business model and the estimation of potential customers and actual purchase rates. For this purpose, we designed seven business model scenarios for promotion and sales period, and performed an economic evaluation using an expanded model of the Bass model, the Kalish model and the customer's maximum willingness to pay.

Open source software is used in various ways when developing new softwares all around the world. It requires rights and responsibilities as a form of an open source software license. Because the license is a contract between original software developers of the open source software and users, we must follow it and extremely cautious to avoid copyright infringement. In particular, we must verify license compatibility when we develop new software using the existing open source softwares. However, license violation issues always occur and lead to lawsuits so that they are having an adverse effect on the open source software ecosystem. Thus, in this paper, we propose a method, OSLC-Vid, to identify license violations whether compatibility issues exist between open source softwares. The proposed method is verified by the experiments to detect actual license violation cases.

최근 소프트웨어 업계의 화두로 등장하고 있는 정보기술은 오픈소스 소프트웨어(Open Source Software: OSS)이다. 하지만, 사용자의 많은 관심에도 불구하고 지금까지 오픈소스 소프트웨어에 대한 연구는 정성적이거나, 탐색적인 연구로 한정되었다. 사용자 관점에서 왜 오픈소스 소프트웨어에 만족하고, 나아가 지속적으로 이 기술을 사용 하는지에 대한 실증적 연구는 아주 미미하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 오픈소스 소프트웨어의 성공모델을 제안하는 대신 사용자의 만족에 그치지 않고 지속적인 사용으로 이끄는 영향요소에 대해 실증적으로 증명하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 Oliver(1980)의 기대불일치이론 (Expectation Disconfirmation Theory: EDT)을 근거로 한 Bhattacherjee(2001)의 정보시스템 수용 후 행동 모델을 연구모형의 기초로 소프트웨어 특성(사용용이성, 유지보수성, 호환성, 맞춤화, 상호 작용성)의 영향을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 개인 및 기업의 오픈소스 소프트웨어 활성화를 촉진시키는데 기여하는데 그 의의가 있다.

경제성장과 기술의 수용도가 높아지면서 오픈소스 소프트웨어 시장의 수익이 연간 22.4%의 성장을 기록할 것이라고 예측했을 정도로 오픈 소스 소프트웨어의 시장성과 영향력이 나날이 커져가고 있다. 오픈소스 소프트웨어는 커뮤니티 규모의 확대, 내부협력의 향상 그리고 더 나아가 소프트웨어의 고도화를 주요 목표로 두고 있다. 본 연구에선 협업을 통한 소프트웨어의 고도화를 도모하고, 보다 나은 개발 환경을 제공하기 위해서 오픈소스 커뮤니티의 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 구성 및 제안 하고 있다. 오픈소스 커뮤니티 내에서 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 제공 할 수 있도록 커뮤니티를 구성하였다. 또한 개발자들이 사용한 API들을 이용해서 개발자간 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 구성하고, 연관 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 이를 통해 개발자에게 필요한 정보와 문제점 및 해결방안 등 개발 관련 정보를 효과적으로 공유할 수 있을 것이며, 개발상의 편이와 오픈소스 소프트웨어의 고도화를 촉진 시킬 수 있을 것이다.

이 논문에서는 학습관리시스템에 대한 다양한 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 비교하고, 사용자들이 쉽게 설치할 수 있고, 다양한 기능을 포함한 무들(moodle), 줌라(joomla)와 Third Party 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 활용하여 학습 콘텐츠 관리 시스템을 구현하고 분석한다. 오픈소스 소프트웨어인 무들은 국내외에 잘 알려져 있고, 많은 참여자로 인하여 타 오픈소스 소프트웨어에 비해 커뮤니티의 활동이 왕성하고, 여러 운영체제 환경에서 APM(Apache, MySQL, PHP)을 사용하여 비교적 쉽게 설치할 수 있고, 모듈화 구조로 개발되어 확장이 가능하다. 줌라 또한 APM 환경에서 강력한 기능을 가진 CMS로서 CMS에 기반한 LMS 컴포넌트를 제공하여 설치가 가능하다. 쉬운 설치와 강력한 기능, 사용자에게 친숙한 인터페이스로 사용자가 점점 늘고 있다. 이 연구에서 구현된 시스템은 기존의 국내외 상용 소프트웨어와 비교, 평가하여 초기에 많은 비용을 투자하지 않고, 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 활용하여 학습관리시스템 구축을 할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.
