현지취재 - 인도네시아 양계산업 및 현황

  • 인도네시아는 열악한 산업 구조를 보이지만 빠른 성장세로 세계 경제의 새로운 축으로 떠오르고 있다. 장기 플랜을 갖고 인도네시아 시장 진출을 희망하는 세계적인 기업이 늘어나면서 축산분야에 관심을 갖고 진출을 희망하는 한국 업체가 눈에 띈다. 국내 양계 케이지 전문 업체 보일공업(주)가 인도네시아 진출을 위해 현지 자카르타에 직원을 파견하고 본격적인 해외 시장 진출을 꾀하고 있다. 본 기자는 보일공업(주)와 인도네시아 현지 동행 취재를 통해 인도네시아의 양계 산업은 물론 국내 양계관련 업체의 진출 가능성을 보고 온 내용을 지면을 통해 소개한다.

  • 본회는 남서울대학교 윤석곤 교수와 공동으로 양계 생산농가 및 관련인이 쉽게 다룰 수 있는 '양계업 회계처리 가이드' 발간을 앞두고 있다. 이 책은 회계처리 기초 지식부터 양계농장에 맞는 회계처리 및 사례 등을 수록해 회계를 접하기 어려웠던 농가가 자신의 농장 경영을 손쉽게 접목할 수 있도록 짜임새 있게 정리했다. 특히 축산분야에서도 양계부분에 맞도록 알기 쉽게 정리해 농가의 관심이 클 것으로 기대된다. 이달 말 발간을 앞두고 본회와 공동저자인 남서울대학교 윤석곤 교수를 만나 인터뷰한 내용을 정리하였다.

  • 지난 11월 5일 제 6대 가축위생방역지원본부장(이하 방역지원본부장)에 정석찬 본부장이 취임했다. 정석찬 본부장은 농촌진흥청 가축위생연구소 연구사를 시작으로 농림축산검역본부 조류질병 과장을 거쳐 최근에는 동물질병관리부장까지 역임하면서 1981년부터 31년 8개월 동안 공직자로 지내왔다. 지난 본지 편집위원(20대)으로도 활동한 경험이 있는 정석찬 본부장을 만나 앞으로 활동 계획에 대해 들어보았다.

  • 종계·산란계 유정란 평사 사육공장에서 방란을 최소화하기 위한 자동난상, 슬랫을 국내 기술로 제작·판매하는 (주)동진레벨은 지난 1998년부터 22년간 양계농가에서 사용하기 용이한 제품을 보급하기 위해 달려왔다. 초기 당사에서 출시한 목재난상의 단점을 보완하고자 3여 년간의 연구·개발 끝에 2013년 '사출성형 플라스틱 조립식 자동난상'을 세계 최초로 선보였다. 국내 특허는 물론 세계 국제특허 출원 이후 아프리카 앙골라, 일본, 필리핀 등 세계 각국 수출에 성공하면서 지난해 12월 '100만불 수출의 탑'을 수상하는 영예를 안았다. 끊임없는 연구와 개발, 그리고 매년 세계 각국의 축산박람회 시찰·참관을 통해 국내 양계농가에 보다 우수한 제품을 공급하는 (주)동진레벨 김진술 대표를 찾아 양계산업 발전을 위해 노력해 온 그간의 세월을 들어보았다.

  • 1970년대 이후 경제성장과 함께 식품산업이 빠르게 성장하면서 축산업이 본격적으로 시작되었다. 동시에 국내 양계산업은 전문화·자동화 기술 도입, 품질과 사양관리 개선 등으로 생산성이 향상되면서 축산 선진화 대열에 들어서기까지 업계 관계자들의 참여와 노력이 상당했다. 이번호에는 해외의 우수한 양계기술과 제품을 들여와 국내 양계산업을 한층 끌어올리는데 선두적인 역할을 해온 과학시스템(주) 박만후 대표를 만났다. 박만후 대표는 산업 발전을 위해 노력한 공을 인정받아 지난해 12월 4일 '월간양계 창간 50주년 기념행사'에서 장관상을 수상하는 영예를 안기도 했다. 그간 활동을 소개한다.

Physicochemical Properties of Puffed Snack Using Pellet Added with Ginseng Powder (인삼분말을 첨가한 Pellet과 이를 이용하여 제조한 팽화과자의 특성)

  • This study was conducted to improve functionality and nutrition for the utilization of ginseng. Ginseng powder pellets containing various moisture contents (1%, 4%, 7% or 10%) were prepared and mixed with rice as 1:1 (w/w). Then, samples were puffed at 180, 190, 200, 210 or 220℃. The puffed ginseng snacks were analyzed for appearance, color, hardness, specific volume and principal component analysis. For appearance analysis, when snack samples containing ginseng pellets with moisture content of 7% or higher were puffed at 200℃, they showed unbroken round shape. For color analysis, the values of L* and a* tended to increase as the moisture content of pellet and puffing temperature increased. As the water content of pellet and the pumping temperature increased, the specific volume of the puffed ginseng snack increased, while the hardness of the sample decreased. In conclusion, all results supposed that the processing conditions including moisture of pellet and puffing temperature had influenced on the physicochemical properties of puffed ginseng snack.

Combined Treatment of Livestock Wastewater with Sewage Using Phanerochaete chrysosporium PSBL-1 (Phanerochaete chrysosporium PSBL-1을 이용한 축산폐수와 하수의 연계처리)

  • We studied possibility of mixing treatment of livestock wastewater and sewage using Phanerochaete chrysosporium PSBL-1. Our study showed that 97.6% of SS and 95% of T-P removal efficiency was achieved when 2 mL BF02(a coagulant) and 100 mL C-210EL(a cationic polymer) were added to the mixture(2:1, v/v) of livestock wastewater and sewage. We studied treatment characteristic of Phanerochaete chrysosporium PSBL-1, after were mixed pretreated wastewater and sewage by dillution ten times about livestock wastewater. The removal efficiency of NBDCOD(non-biodegradable COD), $NH_3-N$ and T-N was increased according to increase of pH. That is, T-N concentration of effluent was satisfied 60 mg/L by drain water waterqulity standard of livestock wastewater public treatment facilities with 35 mg/L from a lapse of five days at pH 6.7, 51 mg/L from a lapse of three days at pH 8 and 33 mg/L from a lapse of one day at pH 10. Moreover $COD_{Mn}$ concentration of effluent was satisfied 40 mg/L by drain water waterqulity standard of livestock wastewater public treatment facilities after a laps of one day at all pH. Organics and nitrogen concentrations of effluent were higher case with addition of V.A.(veratryl alcohol) than case without addition of V.A.(veratryl alcohol). $COD_{Mn}$ concentration of effluent satisfied drain water qulity standard of livestock wastewater public treatment facilities from a lapse of one day, when C/N rate(3:1) of influent was not controled. T-N satisfied that from a lapse of two days, when C/N rate was controled with $4{\sim}6$.

Study on the Forage Cropping System of Italian Ryegrass and Summer Forage Crops at Paddy Field in Middle Region of Korea (중부지역 논에서 이탈리안 라이그라스와 하계 사료작물을 연계한 작부체계 연구)

  • This study was evaluated to compare annual productivity and feed value of Italian ryegrass and summer forage crops at paddy field in middle region of Korea. Italian ryegrass (Kowinearly) was used as winter forage crop, and forage rice (Youngwoo) and barnyard millet (Jeju) were used as summer forage crops. Each crop was cultivated using the standard forage cultivation method. The plant height, dry matter yield, crude protein content, and total digestible nutrient content of Italian ryegrass were 90.6 cm, 7,681 kg/ha, 9.2%, and 63.8%, respectively, and it was no significant difference by summer forage crops (p>0.05). The plant height of summer forage crops was the higher in barnyard millet than in forage rice (p<0.05). The dry matter, crude protein, and total digestible nutrient yields of summer forage crops were the higher in forage rice than in barnyard millet (p<0.05). Also, the feed value of summer forage crops was higher in forage rice than in barnyard millet. In conclusion, the combination of Italian ryegrass-forage rice was the most effective cropping system for annual forage production with high-yield and high-feed value, and it was considered the combination of Italian ryegrass-barnyard millet was good cropping system for annual forage production through reducing labor and cultivating stable at paddy field in middle region of Korea.

Comparison of nutritive composition, immunoglobulin and microbial community in the colostrum between Holstein and Jersey cows: an observational study in Korea (홀스타인과 저지종의 초유 내 영양 성분, 면역글로불린 및 미생물 군집 변화 비교: 국내 관찰 연구)

  • This study examined the colostrum nutritive composition, immunoglobulin (Ig), and microbial community in Holstein and Jersey dairy cows according to the time after calving. The experiment used seven Holstein and three Jersey dairy cows. Colostrum was collected immediately after calf calving, 12, and 24 hours, and stored at -80℃ until analysis. An analysis of the nutritive composition in colostrum was performed using LactoScop. The immune indicators were analyzed using an ELISA Kit, and the microbial community was assessed using a Macrogen Inc. The protein level was high in all colostrum samples from Holstein dairy cows compared with Jersey dairy cows, but there was no significant difference according to the time after calving. Immune index analysis revealed high IgG and IgA concentrations in the colostrum of Holstein cows immediately after calving and 12 and 24 hours after calving, but the differences were not significant. The microbial community at the genus level revealed Staphylococcus to be predominant at a high rate in the colostrum of Holstein dairy cows and Enterococcus in Jersey dairy cows 12 hours after calving. Pseudomonas was predominant at a high rate in the colostrum of Jersey lactating cows immediately and 12 hours after calving. Chryseobacterium was predominant at a high rate in Holstein dairy cows 12 and 24 hours after calving. In conclusion, these results are expected to be used as research data on the correlation between quality, immunity, and microbial community in the colostrum.

A study on identifying factors of poultry complex odor using machine learning models (기계학습 모형을 이용한 양계 복합 악취의 요인 파악에 대한 연구)

  • With the development of modern society, the number of livestock is increasing, and the corresponding odor is recognized as a serious social problem. In particular, the consumption of poultry meat, such as chicken, duck, and turkey, is expected to rise steeply, making odor problems near poultry farms. To address the problem, it is important to understand the influence of odor components on the complex odor. In this study, the odor data obtained from poultry farms were used to predict the complex odor using machine learning models and analyze the influence of the components. Furthermore, we analyze the differences in the amount of the odor components at the site boundary, compost site, inside the farm, and outside the farm using analysis of variance. The analysis showed that ammonia, trimethylamine, dimethyldisulfide, and acetaldehyde have a high effect on the complex odor. In particular, ammonia, trimethylamine, and acetaldehyde have different amount of the occurence by the location.
