  • A soil micromorphological study of clayey terrace soils in Yeongnam area was carried out to investigate the soil genetic features and to distinguish the soil parent materials. Dominant plasmic fabrics in the terrace soils were vosepic, mosepic, insepic, and masepic of sepic fabrics but the Geugrag and Upyeong in Yeongil sequence have an asepic fabrics. Embedded grain cutans in the terrace soils were characterized by having porphyroskelic related distribution. Among pedological features of the B horizons of the terrace soils, the argillic cutans of ferriargillans and glaebules of manganiferrous concretions were the dominant in mineralogical composition, and the papules are abundant in the most terrace soils indicating that the soils are generally old. The substrata of the Bancheon in Yeongcheon and Upyeong in Yeongil area were so different from the terrace deposits in plasmic fabrics that these soils were believed to be composed of bisequum profiles. Because of having the free grain cutans, it was considered that the substrata of Bancheon in Yeongcheon and Upyeong in Yeongil area might have a period of soil formation before deposition of the terrace materials.

  • This study is aimed at researching Gyobang Dance performed by gisaeng of Gyobang in the banquet of Tonshinsa in Yeongnam Jwa-do Province. For this study, Hae-haeng-chong-che, a collection of 28 travel essays written by Joseon Tonshinsa after visiting Japan, and a collection of literary works were analyzed. Joseon Tonshinsa used Yeongnam Jwa-do Province as a route to Japan in obedience to a royal command, and Yeongnam U-do Province as a way back to Hanyang after completing their missions. The country gave a huge banquet to relieve Tonshinsa's anxiety about the voyage and to pray for a safe trip. The banquets were concentrated in Yeongnam Jwa-do Province, the way down to Busan departing from Hanyang. Looking into Tonshinsa's records, it can be seen that Tonshinsa banquets took place in Andong, Yeongcheon, Gyeongju, Milyang, and Busan. Gyobang Dance performed at Tonshinsa banquets includes Geommu, Hwangchangmu, Cheoyongmu, Cheondo, Mudong, Ipchum, and Jungchum. Through Tonshinsa envoy, 'Jeseon Tonshinsa-gil' was formed in Yeongnam Jwa-do Province, and through Tonshinsa banquets, the artistry of Gyobang Dance was compiled. Nevertheless, present Yeongnam Jwa-do Province has remarkably less Gyobang Dance passed down in comparison to Yeongnam U-do Province. For this reason, there is a need to look into Gyobang Dance of Yeongnam Jwa-do Province. The purpose of this study is to closely examine the cultural and artistic characteristics of Gyobang Dance performed at Tonshinsa banquets in Yeongnam Jwa-do Province formed through Joseon Tonshinsa-gil.

  • In this study, the field applicability of the recently constructed multifunctional fishway in Seomunbo, Yeongcheon-si, and Gyeongsangbuk-do were examined. The analysis variables were R/C slab (S1) and R/C+S/C slab (S2), the underground passage standard areas (width × length) were 1.4 m × 0.2 m, 1.4 m × 0.3 m, and 1.4 m × 0.6 m, and the flow velocities were 0.8, 1.2, and 1.6 m/s. As a result of the analysis, the safety of the design of Seomunbo was evaluated. The analysis showed compared to the Seomoon Weir fishway, the maximum stress of S2 decreased by 24 - 32%, the bending moment of the underground passage decreased by 16 - 33%, the maximum stress of the sidewall decreased by 20 - 36%. In addition, the bending moment of the upper slab decreased by 17 - 33%, the maximum stress of the upper slab decreased by 9 - 28%, and the bending moment decreased by 19 - 33%. Complementation was required in the following percentages: 18% and 14% for the maximum stress and bending moment of the underground passage, respectively, 15% and 17% for the maximum sidewall stress and bending moment, respectively, and 11% and 16% for the upper slab maximum stress and bending moment, respectively. The results showed that S2 was superior to that of the Seomoon Weir fishway, and the underground passage size of 1.4 m × 0.3 m was superior to those of 1.4 m × 0.2 m and 1.4 m × 0.6 m, and R/C+S/C slab was superior to that of R/C slab. The findings are expected to be useful for constructing and designing the multifunctional fishway.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the applicability to the effective survey into the actual condition of lands such as analysis of occupied location of government owned lands based on orthoimages created from aerial photographs taken by UAV. The boundary point coordinates and areas of the parcels were observed respectively by VRS-GNSS surveying and orthoimages for each land use of two categories of land, i.e. building site and farmland. As a result of comparing boundary point coordinates and areas extracted from UAV orthoimages with VRS-GNSS surveying data which were used as reference data, the RMS error of the coordinates for the boundary points was ±0.074m for both X and Y in the building site, and ±0.150m and ±0.127m for the X and Y respectively in the farmland. The positional error of the boundary point was 1.7~ 2 times higher in the farmland than in the building site where the boundary points were relatively clear. The RMS error of ±8.964㎡ of areas in the farmland was 4.7 times higher than that of ±1.898㎡ of areas in the building site. The area errors of all 22 parcels measured from the orthoimage were found to be within the allowed error range, indicating that it is feasible to apply the orthoimage generated by UAV to survey of government owned lands in terms of accuracy.

  • This study analyzed the housing market before and after the New Stay movement which was introduced in 2015. In this study, the territories having a New Stay Project and non-involved territories were analyzed based on the apartment price changes according to supply for 12 months before and after the movement date. This study used the difference-in-differences statistical technique. A comparison was carried out in Michuhol-gu, Incheon between Dowha-dong where a New Stay Project was executed, and Sungeui-dong where no project was executed, based on the movement date. It was seen that the price level in the former territory was higher than the latter demonstrating that the introduction of the New Stay Project in Dowha-dong lowered the apartment prices nearby (Sungeui-dong). A comparison in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon between Omogcheon-dong where a New Stay Project was executed and Gosaek-dong where there was no such project, based on the movement date showed that the introduction of the New Stay Project in Omogcheon-dong seemed to lower or stabilize the apartment prices nearby (Gosaek-dong). These results imply that the apartment prices in nearby areas can be stabilized if the supply volume of company-type rental houses is increased.

  • In this study, for the purpose of evaluating the shear wave velocity in core zone, cross-hole test, down-hole test, MASW (Multi-channel Analysis of Surface Wave), and seismic reflection survey were carried out on the crest of the existing 'Y' dam. The results of field tests were compared one another. Furthermore, the field test results were compared with the result by the Sawada's empirical recommendation method. The purpose of this study is to compare the results of four kinds of field tests for evaluation of shear wave velocity in core zone of existing dam, to verify applicability of the empirical method which was recommended by Sawada and Takahashi, and to recommend a reasonable method for evaluation of shear wave velocity which is needed to evaluate tile maximum shear modulus of core zone. From the results of four kinds of field tests such as cross-hole test, down-hole test, MASW, and seismic reflection survey, it was found that the shear wave velocity distributions were similar within 18 m in depth and the results obtained by MASW and seismic reflection survey were almost the same by 30 m in depth. For evaluation of shear wave velocity in core zone of the existing dam, in consideration that it is not easy to bore the hole ill the core zone of existing dam, surface surveys such as MASW and seismic reflection method are recommended as realistic methods. On condition that it is impossible to conduct the field test and it is preliminary investigation, it is recommended that Sawada's low bound empirical equation be used.

  • Korean government is investing 1.8 billion won on infrastructure and investment on PPP projects constitutes 16.3%. This phenomenon is to promote private investment as well as lessening government burdens of public budgeting. However, the only criterion to be considered is government financial status in selecting public or private highway investment projects. So systematic decision support model is required in choosing public or private highway investment projects. So, this paper suggests a systematic decision support model for deciding public or private highway investment at the early stage of project planning. Furthermore, this paper identifies key decision variables with respect to economic, politic, project management criterions based on the related literatures and feedbacks from experts. This paper analyzed 30 cases of government investment and PPP projects and got the survey result from highway specialists. As a result, this paper presents an interval with respect to economic criteria using mean and standard deviation and a logistic regression equation which can predict the possibility of PPP project. Through this study, decision maker of central or local government can decide public or PPP highway project more systematically and reasonably.

  • This study aimed to investigate the impact of scores on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) among foreign exchange students on academic adaptation. Recruited students, approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), totaled seven, and their interview contents were analyzed using a comprehensive analysis procedure based on pragmatic eclecticism (Lee, Kim, 2014), utilizing six stages. As a result, factors influencing academic adaptation of Korean language learners for academic purposes were categorized into three dimensions: academic, daily life, and psychological-emotional aspects. On the academic front, interviewees pointed out difficulties in adapting to specialized terminology and studying in their majors, as well as experiencing significant challenges with Chinese characters and Sino-Korean words. Next, from a daily life perspective, even participants holding advanced TOPIK scores faced difficulties in adapting to university life, emphasizing the necessity of practical expressions and extensive vocabulary for proper adjustment to Korean life. Lastly, within the psychological-emotional dimension, despite being advanced TOPIK holders, they were found to experience considerable stress in conversations or presentations with Koreans. Their lack of knowledge in social-cultural and everyday life culture also led to linguistic errors and contributed to psychological-emotional difficulties, despite proficiency in Korean. Based on these narratives, the conclusion was reached that in order to promote the academic adaptation of Korean language learners, it is essential to provide opportunities for Korean language learning. With this goal in mind, efforts should be directed towards enhancing learners' academic proficiency in their majors, improving Korean language fluency, and fostering interpersonal relationships within the academic community. Furthermore, the researchers suggested as a solution to implement various extracurricular activities tailored for foreign learners.

For this study, March to August 2010, was a literature surveys and field research, and based on this, the Delphi survey of local residents and experts meeting were diagnosed with forest back ground, spatial extent, in the form of forests, flora and vegetation of the surrounding area, so examined closely the original form. Range of the Orijangnim was presumed from Jacheon middle school entrance($N36^{\circ}05^{\prime}59.9^{{\prime}{\prime}}/E128^{\circ}54^{\prime}32.9^{{\prime}{\prime}}$) to Odong of Hwabukmyeon village entrance($N36^{\circ}05^{\prime}31.0^{{\prime}{\prime}}/E128^{\circ}54^{\prime}32.5^{{\prime}{\prime}}$). The Orijangnim in the original form of the existing forest surrounding the village along gohyeon river going back a long S-shaped about 2km is considered. The investigated vascular plants consist of total 198 taxa : 2 forms, 20 varieties, 179 species, 152 Genera, 72 Families. Most of the 60 kinds of large land plants lots of whole plants accounted for 33.3%. A main vegetation of the Orijangnim have been distributed 473 objects of 21 species, and evergreen conifers is 19% to 92 objects, on the other hand, deciduous broadleaf tree is 79% to 373 objects, so the Orijangnim can be maxed forest that deciduous broadleaf tree is dominant. When consider the composition purpose of forest, environment of location, tree size, surrounding flora and vegetation, because an original vegetation of Orijangnim is suggested Zelkova serrata, Salix glandulosa, Celtis sinensis Pers., Quercus variabilis, Quercus acutissima , Sophora japonica L., Cornus walteri Wanger. we must restore around such species of tree. Cedrus deodara (Roxb.) Loudon, Chaenomeles sinensis, Prunus yedoensis Matsum., Ginkgo biloba , Pinus thunbergii Parl., Populus tomentiglandulosa T. Lee is considered to have been planted in the last.
