Nurses' job satisfaction was influenced by intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. According to motivation theory, job satisfaction is determined by the degree of discrepancy between employees' expectation and rewards to employees that meet their basic needs. Spiritual wellbeing is a combination of religious wellbeing and existential wellbeing. It is not simply religious but one of the essentials among basic human needs. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between spiritual wellbeing and job satisfaction for nurses. The subjects consisted of 306 nurses who were employed in Wonju Christian Hospital. A positive relationship between spiritual wellbeing and job satisfaction was found. (r=.48, p<.001) Both spiritual wellbeing and job satisfaction were affected by the length of experience and by marital status and religion. The degree of satisfaction which was measured by one overall question and spiritual wellbeing were found to explain 35.63% of the total job satisfaction variance in regression analysis. From above the results, spiritual wellbeing can be considered as one of the important factors to improve job satisfaction for nurses. In order to improve job satisfaction, administrators must pay attention to the assessment of spiritual wellbeing for nurses who are employed in the hospital and develope programs to raise the level of spiritual wellness.

Method: The subjects of this study were 259 college students. The data was collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire from September 25 to October 2, 2008. The data were analysed in frequency, percentage, means, and the pearson correlation coefficients utilizing the SPSS computer program. Results: The mean scores of the spiritual well-being, self esteem, and attitude to death were 52.62 (SD=9.24), 29.61 (SD=4.75), and 52.42 (SD=8.88) respectively. There were significant positive correlations between the spiritual well-being and self esteem (r=.543, p=.000). Conclusion: The study results show that spiritual well-being and self esteem were a bit positively correlated.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between spiritual well-being, depression, and health status of elderly women in a community for providing the basic data necessary to improve the practice of nursing. Method: The participants were 295 elderly women, over 65 years old in Gwangju and Kyongbuk province, Korea. The data were collected between April 15th and June 15, 2003 using a structured questionnaire and were analyzed using SPSS Win 8.0. Result: Factors such as religious belief (p<.001), type of religion (p<.001), participation of worship (p<.001), significance of religion (p<.001), education(p=.001), spouse(p=.015), financial supporter(p=.001), and living satisfaction(p<.001) showed a statistically significant relation with spiritual well-being. There was a negative correlation between spiritual well-being and depression(r=-0.32, p<.001),and between health status and depression(r=-0.50, p<.001). However, there was a positive correlation between spiritual well-being and health status(r=0.32, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to promote spiritual well-being in elderly women, it is necessary to develop a nursing intervention program classified by the type of religions, followed by studies on the results of proven intervention programs.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare spiritual well-being and perceived health status between Korean and Korean-American and to provide basic data that might develop comprehensive health care program including spiritual dimension. Method: The subject of the study were 411 adults chosen from religious organization located in Gyeongsang Province, Korea and Chicago, U.S.A.. The instruments used in the study were Spiritual Well-being Scale by Paloutizian & Ellison and Health Self Rating Scale by North Illinois University. Analysis of data was done by using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, ANCOVA, ANOVA and Duncan test with SPSS program. Result: 1) The mean score of spiritual well-being of Korean was 3.17 and Korean-American was 2.63, there was significant difference between two groups. 2) Perceived health status of Korean was 2.37 and perceived health status of Korean-American was 2.54, there was significant difference between two groups. Conclusion: According to this study, it is important to take into considerations spiritual aspects and cultural and environmental elements in developing the comprehensive health care program.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine self-transcendence, spiritual well-being, and death anxiety of elderly. Method: This was a descriptive survey study. Data were collected from March to June, 2013, from 243 elderly persons. Questionnaires were used in order to solicit information on self-transcendence, spiritual well-being, and death anxiety. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression were used in analysis of data. Results: Average scores were 2.96 for self-transcendence, 4.19 for spiritual well-being, and 3.08 for death anxiety. Statistically significant negative correlations were observed between self-transcendence and death anxiety, spiritual well-being and death anxiety. However, from the statistical point of view, significantly positive correlation was observed between self-transcendence and spiritual well-being.. Spiritual well-being, health status, and gender were significant predictors of self-transcendence. Purpose: This study was to identify the impact of spiritual wellbeing and social support on the depression among middle-aged women. Descriptive study design was used. Methods: The subjects completed the structured questionnaires: the 'Spiritual Well-being Scale', developed by Paloutzian & Ellison, 'the Social Support Scale' developed by Park, and 'the CES-D Scale' developed by Radloff. Data were collected from 216 middle aged women in B metropolitan city and J city. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regressions. Results: Participants with higher depression had lower scores for spiritual wellbeing (r=-.57, p<.001) and lower scores for social support (r=-.49, p=.011). The influencing factors on depression were spiritual wellbeing, social support, and utilization of spare time. These variables were explained 46% of the variance in depression. Conclusion: The depression of the middle-aged women can be reduced when spiritual wellbeing and social support are improved. Therefore, we suggested to develop nursing intervention programs in order to improve spiritual wellbeing and social support of middle-aged women for reducing their depressions.

Data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis (stepwise) using SPSS Version 23.0 program. Results: The results showed that the degree of spiritual care of home health care nurses was 3.44 points out of a possible 5 points. Factors affecting nurses' spiritual care were spiritual well-being(𝛽=.36, p<.001), recognition of spiritual care as the nature of nursing(𝛽=.17, p=.016) and role of nurses(𝛽=.22 p=.002), regular-based education for spiritual care(𝛽=.23, p<.001), patients' discomfort with spiritual discussion(𝛽=-.18, p=.001), and nurses' experience in home health care area(𝛽=.14, p=.010), which explained 57.2% of the observed variation in spiritual care. Data were collected between October 10 and December 5, 2017 in an experimental group, April 24 and June 5, 2018 in a control group. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test using SPSS/WIN 21.0. The existential well-being(p<.025) and spiritual care competence(p<.001) were significantly increase in the experimental group compared to the control group after the intervention.
