Research on Difficulties and Supporting Measures of Teachers Who Teach Gifted Students in Invention (발명 영재를 지도하는 교사의 어려움과 지원 방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the difficulties of teachers who teach gifted students in invention and to help address their concerns. To this end, the researcher interviews four teachers with more than three years of experience in guiding gifted students in invention. As a result, they have the difficulties such as difficulties in themselves, relationship with parents, in teaching students, relationship with school and relationship with education office. Supporting measures are 1) strengthening incentives for inventive gifted teachers, 2) continuing in service education, 3) improving the student selection process for gifted students in invention, 4) improving parents' perception of gifted students in invention, 5) improving awareness of school administrators, 6) consistent and continuous administration.

The Information Gifted Teacher's Recognition and Developing the Copyright Education Program (정보영재지도교사의 저작권 인식 조사 및 저작권교육 프로그램의 개발)

  • In this paper, we investigated the information gifted teachers' recognition about the copyright and developed a copyright education. Firstly, we compared the copyright-related knowledge, affective, and attitude with the information gifted teachers and regular classroom teachers. As a result of survey, we found that a copyright education in the teacher training for the information gifted was needed, because it was not different between two groups. Accordingly, we developed the copyright education program in the teacher training for the information gifted. We also verified an effectiveness of proposed copyright education program by expert group testing. We expect that this study will contribute the spread of copyright cognition in the information gifted education.

  • 영재 교육이 공교육 차원에서 확대됨에 따라 영재 지도 교사의 범위도 확대되고 있다. 이전에는 대학의 수학과 또는 수학교육과의 교원이나 대학원에서 수학 교육을 전공하는 교사들이 수학 영재를 지도하였으나, 점차로 영재 교육 연수를 받은 현장 교사들이 영재 지도를 맡고 있다. 이러한 현상은 역설적으로 수학 영재 교육에 대한 기본적인 사항에 대한 논의를 더욱 심각하게 제기한다. 특히 '수학 영재아란 누구인가'와 '수학 영재 교육은 무엇이며 어떻게 시켜야하는가' 하는 질문은 가장 근본적인 질문이면서도 영재 교육을 담당하는 교사들에게는 풀기 힘든 과제가 아닐 수 없다. 본 고에서는 수학 영재의 교수-학습 방법으로 일반적인 교수-학습 방법 중 창의력을 개발하여 주는 수학 학습 방법을 영재들에게 적합하게 적용할 것을 제안하며, 그 일례로 개방형 교수법의 발전적 적용 방법을 전개하여 보았다.

The Secondary Gifted Education Teachers' Perceptions of the STEAM and the Convergence Gifted Education (중등 영재 지도교사들의 융합인재교육(STEAM)과 융합영재교육에 대한 인식)

  • This research studies the perception to gifted education teachers between the middle school gifted education for STEAM and Convergence Gifted Education for revitalizing Convergence Gifted Education. The conclusions according to the analysis, it shows that the awareness of gifted education teachers for Convergence Gifted Education is lower than the level of the awareness for STEAM, and it appears that the Gifted education teachers especially has the experience adapting Convergence Gifted Education who awareness for Convergence Gifted Education is the highest. On the other hand, not only teachers has the experience adapting Convergence Gifted Education and the very poorly recognition for the task of Comprehensive Plan for Gifted Education promotion including the development of an creative and convergence content, a they has the very low experience for the development. And it analyzes that although there is no meaningful differences, teachers who are in science gifted teachers and the mature experienced man realizes very optimistically the necessity need of Convergence Gifted Education. Therefore, it analyzes that recognition to the necessity need of Convergence Gifted Education is reinforced through the training for the gifted teachers in the mathematics gifted education and in less teaching experience. But it points out that answers over the majority cognized to resemble the Convergence Gifted Education and STEAM, though the object is only different. Furthermore, it suggests that the differentiated Convergence Gifted Education curriculum providing the suitableness for the characteristic and level is needed for the desirable fixedness.

A Case Analysis on Mathematical Problems Posed by Teachers in Gifted Education (수학영재 지도교사의 문제만들기 사례분석)

  • Well posed problems for mathematically gifted students provide an effective method to design 'problem solving-centered' classroom activities. In this study, we analyze mathematical problems posed by teachers in distance learning as a part of an advanced training which is an enrichment in-service program for gifted education. The patterns of the teacher-posed problems are classified into three types such as 'familiar,' 'unfamiliar,' and 'fallacious' problems. Based on the analysis on the teacher-posed problems, we then suggest a practical plan for teachers' problem posing practices in distance learning.

대전시 영재교육 담당교사들의 영재교육에 대한 인식조사

  • The purpose of this thesis is to investigate teacher's perception of gifted education and obtains information for the education system for silted children. The questionnaire survey was conducted to 120 teachers for the gifted located in Daejeon Metropolitan city. In this study, the questionaire was made up 50 questions about basic information and a specialty for gifted students including teacher training, teaching instructions, gifted programs, administration for the gifted etc. The result of this study was analyized by SPSS10.0. As a result, The teachers wanted to increase teachers' training for the gifted and to decrease too much extra work. And They asked fixed classes for the gifted. Finally, the present processes of discrimination for the gifted need to be improved.

  • 본 연구는 과학영재교육의 질적 수준을 제고하는 데 핵심이 되는 영재교육 담당교사를 위한 연수의 효율성을 높이기 위하여 새로운 형태의 교사의 인식수준 파악과과 신념 변화 과정을 조사하고바람직한 교사연수 모형을 개발하는 기초 자료를 수집하는데 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 서울시교육청에서 처음 시도하는 교사연수 형태인 [파견연수] 전후에 있어서 과학교사들의 신념변화 과정을 설문지와 관찰, 인터뷰를 통하여 확인하고 논의점을 찾고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구 결과가 우리나라 과학영재교육의 질적 수준을 향상시키고 영재교육 담당교사의 전문성을 효율적으로 신장시키는 연수 프로그램의 기본 틀로 활용될 것을 기대한다. 후속 연구로는 영재교육 담당교사의 전문성을 측정하는 도구 개발과 전문성 실태 분석 및 연구 결과를 토대로 한 연수 프로그램 효과 분석 및 효율적인 과학영재교육분야의 교사연수 모형개발이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

Kindergarten and Elementary School Teachers′ Perception on the Gifted Children and the Education for the Gifted and talented (초등 및 유치원 교사의 영재교육에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the kindergarten and elementary school teachers' perception on the gifted children and the education for the gifted and the talented. One hundred and fifteen kindergarten teachers and 116 elementary school teachers participated in this study as subjects. Teachers perceptions on the gifted children were generally right, except the relationships between the giftedness and birth order, the domain-specificity of the creativity, and the physical growth, sense of humor, and the socio-economic status of the gifted children. Teachers perceptions on the education for the gifted and talented also were generally right. Especially the elementary school teachers perceptions were higher than those of the kindergarten teachers.

A Survey on the Problems and Conditions of Educational Guidance and Counselling in the Gifted Education Programs (초중등 영재학급·교육원의 학생 생활지도 실태 및 과제 - 영재 담당교사들의 인식을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems and conditions of educational guidance and counselling of teachers in the gifted classes. For the study, 267 teachers were sampled from the Gifted Education Institutes of metropolitan and provincial offices of education and Gifted Classes of the school across Korea, and the questionnaire developed by the researchers were administered to them. The results of this study are as follows : First, the 82% of respondents reported that the guidance and counselling in the gifted education is needed. So it demands the active responsive strategies on it. Second, the respondents reported that the selfish or self-centered traits of the gifted students are the most problematic in the gifted classes. It shows the emphasis should be put on the basic life habits and moral education in the guidance and counselling of the gifted education. Third, they pointed out the case-based education is needed for the parents of the gifted to correct their misconceptions about their children. Fourth, to support the teachers of the gifted program, the administrative measures have to be taken, like operation of character education program, forming a consultative group with the experienced teachers, developing the case-based guideline for the guidance and counselling for the gifted education, etc. Fifth, we should develop the Korean model of the gifted education to promote social capital for our future society.

Perception of Pre-service Teacher who Participated into Liaison Teacher on the Gifted Education (영재교육원의 보조교사 활동에 참여한 예비교사의 영재교육에 대한 인식)

  • The perception of pre-service teachers who participated as liaison teachers in the gifted education organization's different operating styles and the differences in the thoughts of these teachers were analyzed in this study. The inquiry survey was performed for 74 liaison teachers who had participated in the observational activities in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center supported by education of administration in Chungbuk Province. The individual in-depth interview was performed with 7 teachers based on the analyzed data. The perception of pre-service teachers who participated in as liaison teachers in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center was different from important element of the gifted and qualification of the teacher for gifted education. It was revealed that the differences between the education parts, education schedule and education methods of two the education centers, which were performed during the semester, influenced the perception of pre-service teachers who participated as the liaison teachers. The necessity of the systematic training on the observational skills and class contents were suggested as the essential support system for liaison teachers. The results of the study indicate that the gifted education organizations operating styles, the activities of liaison teachers, and pre-service teacher training program for gifted education emphasizes the long term actual guide experience at the education field for the gifted.
