영재교육원 수료 학생에 대한 과학고등학교 정원 외 선발의 타당성 분석

  • We analyzed the validity of Science Highschool's selection process for the students from Science Gifted Education Center in order to suggest the direction of improvement. First of all, we invested the students' achievement in Mathematics and Science. As a result, we found that the students are not so good at mathematics and science through the selection process for the students from Science Gifted Education Center. However the difference is not statistically meaningful. On the contrary, The achievement of the students from Science Gifted Education Center is above average who were selected through the other course, e. g. the students who acquired the recommendation of principal, winner of prize in Olympiad of Mathematics or Science. We didn't find any meaningful result in the investigation of Affective Domain in Science. And then we found that the students prefer the generous environment through the selection process for the students from Science Gifted Education Center. As a whole, the selection process for the students from Science Gifted Education Center was not so satisfying. It should be reformed; we should examine the students' portfolio on the activities in the Science Gifted Education Center, and the entrance examination should include both divergent and convergent problems to find out the students' creativity. And the 3 dimensional process is also essential through the multiple steps.

  • 본 연구에서는 수학영재교육의 정상화라는 측면에서 서울교육대학교 과학영재교육원의 사례를 중심으로 수학과 영재선발 과정 중에서도 수학분야 문항의 분석을 통하여 지원한 학생들의 수학 개념에 대한 반응을 알아보고 영재교육원에 지원하는 학생들의 수학 학습의 문제점을 진단하고, 수학 영재학습 대상자 선발을 위하여 보다 바람직한 수학 문항 개발 위한 개선점에 대하여 알아보았다. 지원자들의 수학 개념, 원리, 법칙에 대한 이해도는 예상보다 매우 낮게 나왔으며 향후 수학영재 선발 문항의 개발에서는 문항의 개발자들이 수학영재 판별을 위한 진지한 고민과 함께 수학영재들의 능력을 적절히 측정할 수 있는 문항을 개발할 필요성을 제기하였다.

  • This study analyzed current programs practiced by science-gifted education centers. This study was based on concerns of 18 science teachers on six science-gifted education centers of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education that had local representatives. For this study, we collected data using journals, documents, reports, survey reviews and interviews with science teachers. Science teachers were concerned about the selection and identification of gifted students, education periods, curriculum, and student evaluation. More authentic measurement for students' potential ability were needed for the identification and selection process. If the purpose of science-gifted centers was to be met, the number of students selected should be determined by local differences rather than regional equality. The curriculum and educational period could make good use of time allotted for vacation to increase lesson periods. Lessons based on strategies like contests for improving the students' creativity, free inquiry and communication skills had to be encouraged. A consistent system for science-gifted education from primary school to high school was needed.

  • In order to secure the national competitiveness in the 21st century's frontier knowledge-based information and globalized society, Korea also needs programs to pick out advanced human resources early and educate them systematically. Therefore the education for the gifted in the information science area is very important, in response to the highly developed Information society, nationally, science-gifted education institutes attached to colleges and several institutions for gifted education have selected and educated the gifted in information science. Therefore, this study is intended to survey local elementary school teachers' awareness on elementary information education for gifted and talented students carried out in jeju by the Education Center for Science Gifted and Talented Students of jeju National University and other education institutions for gifted and talented students in the region and thereby suggest strategies for improvement of the education.

  • Gifted education, receiving private tutoring and prerequisite learning, is emerging as a remarkable phenomenon currently in Korea. Hence, we need to find out that whether prerequisite math learning influences academic achievement in any aspect after they enter the center. In this paper, we investigate the effect of mathematics prerequisite learning of gifted students focused on the their self-efficacy, achievement motivation and academic achievement. As a result, the period of mathematics prerequisite learning did not influence academic achievement of gifted students. However, the correlation between self-efficacy and achievement motivation was positive.

  • This paper focused on developing the curriculum for elementary children who are gifted in information science as follows. First, this paper dealt the contents of the scientific school attached to universities for gifted children. Second, this paper abstracted educational elements for the gifted children from the research of the information science course in current education. Third, for applying curriculum for the elementary children who are gifted in information science to practical education efficiently, the contents were classified into many steps. Fourth, this paper developed the annual curriculum for the elementary children who are gifted in information science.

  • 본 논문에서는 소외계층 영재학생을 위한 온라인 학습 멘토링 운영 방안을 도출하였다. 소외계층 영재학생에게 필요한 맞춤형 과제, 실생활 문제, 학업 관리를 지원하기 위하여 맞춤형 과제와 피드백, 학업 상담으로 이루어진 온라인 학습 멘토링 운영 방안을 도출하였다. 맞춤형 과제에서는 소외계층 영재학생의 수준에 따라 실생활 주제를 활용한 과제를 제시하였으며, 피드백을 통하여 과제의 결과물을 평가받을 수 있도록 구성하였다. 학업 상담에서는 학업 계획 및 관리 능력을 향상시키기 위하여 전문가와 함께 상담을 진행할 수 있도록 하였다. 후속 연구에서는 온라인 학습 멘토링을 소외계층 영재학생에게 운영하고, 온라인 학습 멘토링의 효과를 분석하는 연구가 진행되어야 한다.
