For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted targeting second-year students in the department of child care and welfare at the H university in S city. Methods: The results were analyzed according to the methods of Bogdan and Biklen (2006). Results: The results of interviews showed, the prospective child care teachers felt that it was too soon to talk about their professionalism and teachers' professionalism needed further education and experience in the field. Additionally, regarding the professional music classes, the prospective child care teachers were suggested to require the knowledge of infants' individual development, difference and interest. Secondly, to be able to comply with the national curriculum and build an integrated education plan based on the themes that of infants and children' interests. Thirdly, to be familiar with the teaching methods guiding what to teach and how to teach. And in order to possess such expertise, the discourse suggested that the teachers should enjoy music themselves, learn musical instruments to develop their musical abilities, and have a variety of artistic experiences. In spite of their efforts, if they do not meet the needs, they should overcome by co-operating with their colleagues rather than giving up the music classes. Conclusion/Implications: This study presents the practical direction of music education for the prospective child care teachers.
The purpose of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Tuberculosis Interview Instrument (K-TII). The instrument was first translated into Korean, back-translated to English, and reviewed. After the translation process, the instrument was revised from 52 items to 37 items by researchers and an expert according to the systematic review. In addition, these items were reduced to 32 items after the content validity test was done by 9 experts. As a result of pilot study conducted in 20 early childhood teachers, 32 items were selected for the preliminary instrument. Data collected from 289 early childhood teachers were used to test the validity and reliability of the preliminary instrument. The result of factor analysis showed that the instrument categorized into 7 factors explaining 71% of the total variance and 27 items were retained for the final instrument. The result of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient was .88. In conclusion, the K-TII may be a suitable instrument for assessing tuberculosis prevention behaviors in early childhood teachers in Korea.
The purpose of this study was to examine the perception of the childcare teachers regarding accreditation procedures and feasibility of the second accreditation index according their past participation in the accreditation process. The objects were 193 childcare teachers working at child care centers that were accredited using the initial accreditation index. The collected data was analyzed using frequency, percentile, $X^2$, and t-test. The major findings are as follows: First, childcare teachers without accreditation experience perceived 'continuing education of child care center directors and teachers' to be the most important for quality maintenance after successful accreditation. In contrast, childcare teachers with accreditation experience placed the most importance on 'childcare teachers' motivation and continuing enrollment'. Second, childcare teachers with accreditation experience perceived higher feasibility in the subcategories of 'art activity materials' in the category of child care environment, 'providing operation policies and information of child care teachers', 'care for children', and 'employment contract' in the operation & management category, 'sanitary management of food, cooking and feeding', 'care of sick or injured child', 'health management of children and childcare teachers', 'snacks for children' in the category of health and nutrition and 'safe procedures for handing over children' in the category of safety. After the integration of early childhood education and child care, young children school's teacher qualification conversion training for in-service teachers is necessary. In this study, the subjects and operation modules of teacher qualification training were examined. As a result of the study, it was found that kindergarten teachers without child care teacher qualifications needed 4 subjects and 12 credits, and teachers with only child care teacher qualifications needed 14 subjects and 30 credits. As qualification training institutions, the Department of Early Childhood Education at a 4-year University, the Department of Early Childhood Education at a junior College, and the Korea National Open University were proposed. In the case of kindergarten teachers who do not have a child care teacher, it was found that they could change their qualifications through job training.
This study examines the effectiveness of semi-occluded vocal tract exercise (SOVTE) conducted through telepractice for 10 female teachers who have experienced vocal discomfort while working in early childhood education facilities (childcare centers, kindergartens). The effects of SOVTE conducted through telepractice were evaluated based on the Korean voice handicap index (KVHI), the Korean version of the voice activity and participation profile (K-VAPP), vocal effort, and auditory perception evaluation by using the grade, roughness, breathiness, asthenia, and strain (GRBAS) scale. The results show that total, functional, and physical scores of KVHI significantly reduced after SOVTE. The total score in K-VAPP significantly reduced after SOVTE. Moreover, vocal effort significantly decreased after SOVTE. However, statistically significant differences were not noted in GRB scales before and after SOVTE. In conclusion, early childhood teachers experienced reduced vocal discomfort SOVTE conducted through telepractice. The study results indicate that voice therapy conducted through telepractice is an effective method for reducing vocal discomfort in early childhood teachers.

This paper constructs a real-time monitoring system that can identify the individual positions of infants and their proximity to other infants using an Internet of Things (IoT)-based nameplate. The system consists of a precision location tracking module, a data transmission system for calculating gateway location information, a service platform server, and a data analysis processing module considering the development of infants and young children. The purpose of this study is to extract information about how infants interact with each other. The information gathered through this system can be used as important information to improve the peer relations of all infants and toddlers, from neglected infants to infants with no social development problems, to more popular infants. It is possible, based on the proximity information between infants and toddlers, that the teacher can identify positive interactions or negative interactions, and can educate infants on how to improve their peer relationships. These results can be used for consultation with parents, and the information collected through this system can be used as a database to establish a system for improving the relationships between infants and toddlers.
Purpose: This study was conducted in order to determine the difference of Importance and Performance Related service management and feeding practices of teachers at mealtime in childcare centers. Methods: In December, 2013, questionnaires were completed by teachers working at childcare centers in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. A total of 179 teachers responded to questions regarding perceived importance and degree of performing related service management and feeding practices at mealtime in childcare centers. Factor analysis and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) were used. Results: Four factors including 11 items were represented by factor analysis: 'Personal hygiene management', 'Feeding practice', 'Food material management', and 'Service at serving foods'. For 'Personal hygiene management', scores for perception on importance and performance were 4.42 and 3.84 points of 5 that were the lowest among factors. As a result of IPA, teachers were aware of the importance and performed well, 'Encouraging and praising children's eating habits at mealtime', 'Giving thanks before and after a meal', and 'Sitting and eating with children at mealtime' belonged to 'Feeding practice'; whereas they were not aware of the importance and performed insufficiently, 'Wearing the hygiene hat for serving foods', 'Wearing disposable gloves for serving foods', and 'Wearing the apron for serving foods' belonged to 'Personal hygiene management'. Conclusion: For children's health and safety in foodservice at childcare centers, personal hygiene management is very important when cooking as well as serving food. The results suggest that education targeting personal hygiene management is necessary for management of hygiene by teachers while serving food in childcare centers. In addition, guidelines on service management and feeding practice are needed for teachers working at childcare centers.

This study aimed at analyzing teachers' perception of democratic civic education. A total of 200 childcare teachers participated in the survey, and frequency analysis and cross-tabulation analysis were performed to analyze the survey data. According to the results of the study, first, the childcare teachers were significantly different in the teachers' factors on necessity and difficulty of democratic civic education. The childcare teachers perceived the necessity of democratic civic education, and attributed the cause of the difficulties in democratic civic education to parents' attitudes. Second, there weren't significant differences in the teacher's factors on the content and methods of democratic civic education. Therefore, in this study, it is emphasized that democratic civic education is related to young children's homes and communities, and reorganization of democratic civic education programs based on development of young children is suggested.
