90년대 문학출판의 지형도를 풀어본다

  • 90년대 문학출판은 사회적 역할과 책임을 강조하는 거대 담론의 시대에서 벗어나 미학적.문학적으로 다채로운 가치를 추구했다고 볼 수 있다. 하지만 90년대를 마감하는 이 시점에 영상문화 등 다른 매체의 팽창과 상업주의, 독서시장의 축소는 새로운 과제로 남는다. 문학출판에 주력해 온 출판사의 편집인 4인이 한자리에 모여 90년대 문학출판의 의미와 변화, 2천년대를 위한 과제를 알아본다.

Digital Animation As a New Medium Taking a View of Bolz Media Theory (미디어미학에서 바라 본 뉴미디어로써 디지털 애니메이션 - 노르베르트 볼츠의 매체미학을 중심으로 -)

  • A German philosopher, Herbert Bolz predicted that the human way of thinking would be fundamentally and completely changed because of digital media and the 'Gutenberg-Galaxis', named by M.McLuhan which was symbolized of modern reason was doomed to be over. He thought that the limit of reason-centered European culture would be overcome by the up-to-date multimedia to revive the communication life. On this theory, he emphasized the emotional perception, 'aisthesis' which is original meaning of aesthetics. That is to say, he insisted on the restoration of communication media to enable the five senses' amusement condition mentioned by Kant. This thesis asserts that the representative hypermedia digital animation may play a key role to rehabilitate human sensibility pressed by reason centered modernism. Digital animation has the unique worth of Art that is firstly to deal with time and space and enable unlimited expressions and can communicate effectively as a characteristic synthetic medium which consists of intensive computer techniques. Based on the background, this thesis analyzes the possibility of the digital animation as a new medium. Especially, it is focused on the relations to the hypermedia theory of Norbert Bolz who is a media analyst and professor of a design college.

A Study on Rolls for the Association of Sound as Subtext for Animation (애니메이션의 하위 텍스트로서의 음향의 연상 작용과 역할에 관한 연구)

  • This is a study on the roles in the association of sound as subtext for animation. On this study, it will be helpful to develop sound concepts and to create animations with creativity. For animation without sound can be produced as an artistic purpose, however, most animations are created with sound. It is not means that sound is less important than visual in animations. Sound is also one of significant element to create animations. Sound have many important rolls for subtext such as parts of action, leitmotif, characteristic, time, ethnic, localization in the animations. It will be analyzed two animations such as Shrek (DreamWorks Pictures production/ Director: Andrew Adams) and Monsters Inc. (Walt Disney Pictures/ Director: Peter Doctor).

  • Dir. Kim, Giduk's first work is (1996) which was created a new character and episode which disregard the main trand movie. His emotion in his film is over the reallife and common sense. His emotion is attached to the primitive feeling. He is called the tererist of Korean film culture. This thesis studys on the allegory of kim, Giduk's film world by Kim, Sunam's 'Korean auterism' which discusses dir.'s film work on the base of the background of filmmaker and his view of life. And also to represent film image he used space, water, color, repeated same meaning oposition by the usual image of rhetoric.

  • The term 'Media Facade' is an integrated information-Conveying Medium that turns the inside and outside of a building into a new meaningful space by converging with design, motion pictures and IT technology. Media Facade is not only associated with the exterior of a building but presents new experiences th the visitors in all available spaces where screens can be installed. Moreover, interactive Media Facade has expanded the former one-way communication to a two-way one bringing more sense of realism for the spectators and increasing attraction and participation. In this study, I explored the aesthetic characteristics of interactive Media Facade and analyzed pertinent cases; and based on domestic and overseas cases, I contemplated upon the future objectives of interactive Media Facade in Korea.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중화면 분할 제작 콘텐츠 효과에 대해서 제안한다. 다중화면 분할 영상은 기존의 단일 영상 제공에 비해 2개, 3개, 4개, 9개의 화면을 각각 분할하여 다양한 영상들을 제공함으로써 보다 풍부한 정보 제공과 영상의 화려함과 미학을 제공한다. 이와 반대로 여러 화면의 정보들을 동시에 제공함으로써 한 화면에 집중하지 못함으로 여러 다양한 정보들을 수용하지 못하는 단점도 있다. 그러나 단일 화면보다는 다중 분할 화면으로 다양한 정보를 제공함으로써 얻는 효과가 더 크다고 사료한다. 이러한 다중화면 효과는 시청자들에게는 더 흥미로운 영상으로 충족 될 것이라고 사료한다.

  • 현대의 디지털 영상미디어 문화는 단순하게 진화된 형태를 넘어 보다 더 수준 높은 콘텐츠의 다양성과 미적 취향이 융합된 기술적 추구를 더욱 요구하고 있다. 특히 영상미디어 콘텐츠에 있어 영상표현의 역할은 그 어느 때보다 미학과 심리적 요인에 대한 접근의 중요성과 주목성을 통해 오감을 구현해 내는 최적화된 구현방식을 표출하기에 이르렀다. 이를 위해서는 무엇보다 주목성, 감성충족, 지속성 등이 내제 되어야 영상콘텐츠. 경쟁력 확보가 가능하다. 이러한 측면이 디지털 영상콘텐츠의 핵심 기반을 이루는 감성기술이자 가장 어려운 난제이기도 하다. 그렇기 때문에 최적화된 디자인구성은 물론 알고리즘 환경이 구축되어야만 한다. 이른바 시지각의 데이터를 몰입으로 유도하고, 지속성 여부를 가늠하는 융합기술이 제시되어야만 새로운 시각형태의 전환으로 디자인 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있다.

Meaning of 'Labor' and Aesthetic in Dardenne Brothers' Films (다르덴 형제 영화에서 '노동'의 의미와 형식미학)

  • Dardenne brothers' films deals with minorities' issues who are shoved out to periphery of society, and especially takes interest in value-deprived human life in labor market of today. This study examines such social awareness of Dardenne brothers targeting their latest works awarded in Cannes Film Festival, , , , , . And analysis is attempted about Dardenne brothers' unique formal aesthetical style that exactly captures such social awareness. In Dardenne brothers' films a person shows up who faces abject matter of living. Their agony is closely connected to unemployment, and shows images of irresistible anxiety and alienation. Dardenne brothers' images are not only simple platform with contents embodied, but designed form showing essential thematic consciousness. Location and gaze, motion of camera capturing a character makes us to reflect the situation a character is facing in the world. There are almost no regard about plots, no dramatic devices, superficial and even straightforward, but Dardenne brothers' films have such independent formal aesthetic, which makes able to give endless tension.

A Study on the Aesthetic Characteristics of Korean Pantomimic Mask-dance-drama (한국 무언탈놀이의 연극미학적 특성)

  • The aesthetics of Korean pantomimic mask-dance-drama is studied in this thesis. The scripts of the pantomimic mask-dance-drama were recorded generally, explanatorily and interpretively. The emotion and psychology are expressed by the look and body language. The mimic expression of the pantomimic mask-dance-drama was analyzed intensively. The speech drama is richer and deeper than the pantomimic mask-dance-drama at the aspect of the power of expression.
