Image Calibration System Implementation using Third Transformation Model (3차 변환 모델을 이용한 영상 보정 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper a calibration method is proposed for calibrating distorted image from lens and various factors. The similar origin image can be generated by the proposed method that calculate a calibration coefficient by modeling third transformation between standard image and distorted image and then apply the coefficient to distorted image The coefficient is effective until camera position is changed or lens is exchanged. This research consists of processes to calculate calibration coefficient and to set similar real image by the coefficient. Proposed method especially is applied to a system to obtain a real image from a distorted image causing effects of special system environment and camera lens The advantage of this method is verified by experiment using distorted images from a CCD camera that will attach atomic pile.

View Morphing for Generation of In-between Scenes from Un-calibrated Images (비보정 (un-calibrated) 영상으로부터 중간영상 생성을 위한 뷰 몰핑)

  • Image morphing to generate 2D transitions between images may be difficult even to express simple 3D transformations. In addition, previous view morphing method requires control points for postwarping, and is much affected by self- occlusion. This paper presents a new morphing algorithm that can generate automatically in-between scenes from un-calibrated images. Our algorithm rectifies input images based on the fundamental matrix, which is followed by linear interpolation with bilinear disparity map. In final, we generate in-between views by inverse mapping of homography between the rectified images. The proposed method nay be applied to photographs and drawings, because neither knowledge of 3D shape nor camera calibration, which is complex process generally, is required. The generated in-between views can be used in various application areas such as simulation system of virtual environment and image communication.

A Real-time Lane Tracking Using Inverse Perspective Mapping (역투영 변환을 이용한 고속도로 환경에서의 실시간 차선 추적)

  • In this paper, A real-time lane tracking algorithm is proposed for lane departure warning system. To eliminate perspective effect, input image is converted into Bird's View by inverse perspective mapping. Next, suitable features are extracted for lane detection. Lane feature that correspond to area of interest and RANSAC are used to detect lane candidates. And driving lane is decided by clustering of lane candidates. Finally, detected lane is tracked using the Kalman filter. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can be processed within 30ms and its detection rate is approximately 90% on the highway in a variety of environments such as day and night.

  • 본 논문에서는 슬라이스간의 상관성을 이용한 3차원 MR 영상의 효율적인 압축방법을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 웨이브릿 변환영역에서 동영상 압축에 사용되는 움직임 보상 부호화와 프랙탈 부호화를 이용한다. 제안한 방법에서는 먼저 영상을 웨이브릿 변환한 후, 공간영역에서 같은 위치에 있는 웨이브릿 계수들을 모아서 일정한 크기를 갖는 웨이브릿 블록으로 재배열한다. 배열된 웨이브릿 블록에 대해 움직임 추정을 하고 블록간의 상관성이 크다고 판단되는 블록에 대해서는 움직임 추정 정보만 이용한다. 그러나 상관성이 작다고 판단되는 블록의 경우에는 최상위 계층의 저주파 부대역에 대해서만 움직임 추정을 하고 나머지 대역에 대해서는 프랙탈 부호화를 실행한다. 그리고 움직임 벡터와 프랙탈 부호화에 의해 복원된 슬라이스와 현재 슬라이스의 차인 오차 영상은 SPIHT로 부호화한다. 제안한 방법을 낮은 비트율에서 실험한 결과, 2차원 SPIHT에 비해 향상된 PSNR을 나타낼 뿐만 아니라 블러링이 줄어들어 객관적, 주관적 화질에서 우수하게 나타난다.

  • 본 논문에서는 웨이블릿(wavelet) 변환된 영상의 압축 방법으로 사용되는 SPIHT(Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees)을 이용하여 워터마크를 삽입하는 방법을 제안하였다. 기존의 특정 대역에만 워터마크를 삽입하는 방법은 화질열화와 압축의 두 가지 문제점을 동시에 해결할 수 없었다. 제안된 방법은 웨이블릿 변환된 영상의 계수 값이 동일한 방향을 갖는 부대역 간에 상관관계를 갖는 점을 이용하여 특정 대역이 아닌 중요 계수에만 워터마크를 삽입하므로써 강인성과 비 가시성이 증가되도록 하였다. 워터마크의 추출은 워터마크된 영상과 PN(Pseudo Noise)코드와의 계수 차를 이용하였으며, 워터마크가 삽입된 영상의 인증을 위해 통계학적인 접근 방법을 사용하였다. 실험을 통하여 워터마크가 삽입된 영상에 대해 손실 압축, 잡음, 크로핑, 리사이즈, 콜루션의 공격을 가한 결과 평균 유사도 값이 0.987의 높은 추출율을 보여 강인성을 입증하였다.

  • The intelligent video surveillance environment is a system that extracts various information about a video object and enables automated processing through the analysis of video data collected in CCTV. However, since the privacy exposure problem may occur in the process of intelligent video surveillance, it is necessary to take a security measure. Especially, video metadata has high vulnerability because it can include various personal information analyzed based on big data. In this paper, we propose a COP-Transformation scheme to protect video metadata. The proposed scheme is advantageous in that it greatly enhances the security and efficiency in processing the video metadata.

A Robust Real-Time Lane Detection for Sloping Roads (경사진 도로 환경에서도 강인한 실시간 차선 검출방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method for real-time lane detection that is robust for inclined roads and not require a camera parameter, the Inverse Perspective Transform of the image, and the proposed lane filter. After finding the vanishing point from the start frame of the image and storing the region surrounding the vanishing point as the Template Area(TA), our method predict the lanes by scanning toward the lower part from the vanishing point of the image and obtain the image removed the perspective effect using the Inverse Perspective Transform coefficients extracted based on the predicted lanes. To robustly determine lanes on inclined roads, the region surrounding the vanishing point is set up as the template area (TA), and, by recalculating the vanishing point by tracing the area similar to the TA (SA) in the input image through template matching, it responds to the changes on the road conditions. The proposed method for a more robust lane detection method for inclined roads is a lane detection method by applying a lane detection filter on an image removed of the perspective effect. Through this method, the processing region is reduced and the processing procedure is simplified to produce a satisfactory lane detection result of about 40 frames per second.

Boundary Depth Estimation Using Hough Transform and Focus Measure (허프 변환과 초점정보를 이용한 경계면 깊이 추정)

  • Depth estimation is often required for robot vision, 3D modeling, and motion control. Previous method is based on the focus measures which are calculated for a series of image by a single camera at different distance between and object. This method, however, has disadvantage of taking a long time for calculating the focus measure since the mask operation is performed for every pixel in the image. In this paper, we estimates the depth by using the focus measure of the boundary pixels located between the objects in order to minimize the depth estimate time. To detect the boundary of an object consisting of a straight line and a circle, we use the Hough transform and estimate the depth by using the focus measure. We performed various experiments for PCB images and obtained more effective depth estimation results than previous ones.

  • Transform, subband, and wavelet transform decompositions are powerful linear transformation tools in image coding because of their decorrelating effects on image pixels, the concentration of energy in a few coefficients, their multirat/multiresolution framework, and their frequency splitting, which allows for efficient coding matched to the statistics of each frequency band and to the characteristics of the human visulal system. Thus, a growingbody of research has bee performed to extend these tools in various kinds of modified formations. Hence, in this paper, an overall survey to achieve a general view on these transformation tools have been attempted. Starting from basic tools such as orthogonal transforms, lapped transforms, QMF(quadrature mirror filter) subband filter banks, and wavelet transforms, their hierarchical extensions, vector extensions, and linear time-varying extensions are investugated in detail.

An Enhanced Method for Detecting Iris from Smartphone Images in Real-Time (스마트폰 영상에서의 개선된 실시간 눈동자 검출 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method for enhancing the detection speed and rate by reducing the computation in Hough Circle Transform on real-time iris detection of smartphone camera image. First of all, we find a face and eyes from input image to detect iris and normalize the iris region into fixed size to prevent variation of size for iris region according to distance from camera lens. Moreover, we carry out histogram equalization to get regular image in bright and dark illumination from smartphone and calculate minimal iris range that contains iris with the distance between corner of the left eye and corner of the right eye on the image. Subsequently, we can minimize the computation of iris detection by applying Hough Circle Transform on the range including the iris only. The experiment is carried out in two case with bright and dark illumination. Our proposed method represents that detection speed is 40% faster and detection rate is 14% better than existing methods.
