A lumbar juxtafacet cyst is a rare disease that causes low back pain, radiculopathy and neurological claudication by compressing the nerve roots. A 34-year-old male complained of severe low back pain and radicular pain in the right lower extremity. Magnetic resonance images revealed a cyst at the lateral recess of the spinal canal between the L3-4 disc and posterior facet joint that extended to the L4 body level. Under the guidance of an image intensifier, needle aspiration of the cyst was performed, which extracted 1.5 ml of serous, yellowish colored fluid. After the aspiration, the symptoms subsided dramatically. The follow-up magnetic resonance images showed no recurrence of the cyst. To the best of the author's knowledge, there are no reports of lumbar juxtafacet cyst treated with needle aspiration in Korea. This case is reported with a review of the relevant literature.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of reducing the absorbed dose to the ovaries and the quality of the CBCT image when using the HalcyonTM Fast kV CBCT of cervical cancer patients of child-bearing age who performed ovarian transposition Materials and Methods : Contouring of the cervix and ovaries required for measurement was performed on the computed tomography images of the human phantom (Alderson Rando Phantom, USA), and three Optically Stimulated Luminescence Dosimeter(OSLD) were attached to the selected organ cross-section, respectively. In order to measure the absorbed dose to the cervix and ovaries in the TruebeamTM pelvis mode (Hereinafter referred to as TP), The HalcyonTM Pelvis mode (Hereinafter referred to as HP) and The HalcyonTM Pelvis Fast mode (Hereinafter referred to as HPF), An image was taken with a scan range of 17.5 cm and also taken an image that reduced the Scan range to 12.5cm. A total of 10 cumulative doses were summed, It was replaced with a value of 23 Fx, the number of cervical cancer treatments, and compared In additon, uniformity, low contrast visibility, spatial resolution, and geometric distortion were compared and analyzed using Catphan 504 phantom to compare CBCT image quality between equipment. Each factor was repeatedly measured three times, and the average value was obtained by analysing with the Doselab (Mobius Medical Systems, LP. Versions: 6.8) program. Results: As a result of measuring absorbed dose by CBCT with OSLD, TP and HP did not obtain significant results under the same conditions. The mode showing the greatest reduction value was HPF versus TP. In HPF, the absorbed dose was reduced by 39.8% in the cervix and 19.8% in the ovary compared to the TP in the scan range of 17.5 cm. the scan range was reduced to 12.5 cm, absorbed dose was reduced by 34.2% in the cervix and 50.5% in the ovary. In addition, result of evaluating the quality of the image used in the above experiment, it complied with the equipment manufacturer's standards with Geometric Distortion within 1mm (SBRT standard), Uniformity HU, LCV within 2.0%, Spatial Resolution more than 3 lp/mm. Conclusion: According to the results of this experiment, HalcyonTM can select more various conditions than TruebeamTM in treatment of fertility woman who have undergone ovarian Transposition , because it is important to reduce the radiation dose by CBCT during radiation therapy. So finally we recommend HalcyonTM Fast kV CBCT which maintains image quality even at low mAs. However, it is consider that the additional exposure to low doses can be reduced by controlling the imaging range for patients who have undergone ovarian transposition in other treatment machines.
Since the multi-view video is a set of video sequences captured by multiple array cameras for the same three-dimensional scene, it can provide multiple viewpoint images using geometrical manipulation and intermediate view generation. Although multi-view video allows us to experience more realistic feeling with a wide range of images, the amount of data to be processed increases in proportion to the number of cameras. Therefore, we need to develop efficient coding methods. One of the possible approaches to multi-view video coding is to generate an intermediate image using view interpolation method and to use the interpolated image as an additional reference frame. The previous view interpolation method for multi-view video coding employs fixed size block matching over the pre-determined disparity search range. However, if the disparity search range is not proper, disparity error may occur. In this paper, we propose an efficient view interpolation method using initial disparity estimation, variable block-based estimation, and pixel-level estimation using adjusted search ranges. In addition, we propose a multi-view video coding method based on H.264/AVC to exploit the intermediate image. Intermediate images have been improved about $1{\sim}4dB$ using the proposed method compared to the previous view interpolation method, and the coding efficiency have been improved about 0.5 dB compared to the reference model.
With the recent global and domestic development of Earth observation satellites, the applications of satellite images have been widened. Research for improving the geometric accuracy of satellite images is being actively carried out. This paper studies the possibility of automated ground control point (GCP) generation for CAS-4 satellite, to be launched in 2025 with the capability of image acquisition at 5 m ground sampling distance (GSD). In particular, this paper focuses to check whether GCP chips with 25 cm GSD established for CAS-1 satellite images can be used for CAS-4 and to check whether optimalspatial resolution for matching between CAS-4 images and GCP chips can be determined to improve matching performance. Experiments were carried out using RapidEye images, which have similar GSD to CAS-4. Original satellite images were upsampled to make satellite images with smaller GSDs. At each GSD level, up-sampled satellite images were matched against GCP chips and precision sensor models were estimated. Results shows that the accuracy of sensor models were improved with images atsmaller GSD compared to the sensor model accuracy established with original images. At 1.25~1.67 m GSD, the accuracy of about 2.4 m was achieved. This finding lead that the possibility of automated GCP extraction and precision ortho-image generation for CAS-4 with improved accuracy.
The purpose of this study is to compare the quality and characteristics of matching DEMs by using KOMPSAT-3 stereo pair capture in in-track and cross-track. For this purpose, two stereo pairs of KOMPSAT-3 were collected that were taken in the same area. The two stereo pairs have similar stereo geometry elements such as B/H, convergence angle. Sensor modeling for DEM production was performed with RFM affine calibration using multiple GCPs. The GCPs used in the study were extracted from the 0.25 m ortho-image and 5 meter DEM provided by NGII. In addition, matching DEMs were produced at the same resolution as the reference DEMs for a comparison analysis. As a result of the experiment, the horizontal and vertical errors at the CPs indicated an accuracy of 1 to 3 pixels. In addition, the shapes and accuracy of two DEMs produced in areas where the effects of natural or artificial surface land were low were almost similar.
The investigation on the rock discontinuity geometry has been usually undergone by direct measurement on the rock exposures. But this sort of field work has disadvantages, which we, for example, restriction of surveying areas and consuming excessive times and labors. To cover these kinds of disadvantages, image processing could be regarded as an altemative way, with additional advantages such as automatic and objective tools when used under adequate computerized algorithm. This study was focused on the recognition of the rock discontinuities captured in the image of rock exposure by digital camera and the production of the discontinuity map automatically. The whole process was written using macro commands builtin image analyzer, ImagePro Plus. ver 4.1(Media Cybernetic). The procedure of image processing developed in this research could be divided with three steps, which are enhancement, recognition and extraction of discontinuity traces from the digital image. Enhancement contains combining and applying several filters to remove and relieve various types of noises from the image of rock surface. For the next step, recognition of discontinuity traces was executed. It used local topographic features characterized by the differences of gray scales between discontinuity and rock. Such segments of discontinuity traces extracted from the image were reformulated using an algorithm of computer decision-making criteria and linked to form complete discontinuity traces. To verify the image processing algorithms and their sequences developed in this research, discontinuity traces digitally photographed on the rock slope were analyzed. The result showed about 75~80% of discontinuities could be detected. It is thought to be necessary that the algorithms and computer codes developed in this research need to be advanced further especially in combining digital filters to produce images to be more acceptable for extraction of discontinuity traces and setting seed pixels automatically when linking trace segments to make a complete discontinuity trace.

In surface image velocimetry, a wide area of a river is photographed at an angle to measure its velocity, inevitably causing image distortion. Although a distorted image can be corrected into an orthogonal image by using 2D projective coordinate transformation and considering reference points on the same plane as the water surface, this method is limited by the uncertainty of changes in the water level in the event of a flood. Therefore, in this study, we developed a tilt image correction technique that corrects distortions in oblique images without resetting the reference points while coping with changes in the water level using the geometric relationship between the coordinates of the reference points set at a high position the camera, and the vertical distance between the water surface and the camera. Furthermore, we developed a distortion correction method to verify the corrected image, wherein we conducted a full-scale river experiment to verify the reference point transformation equation and measure the surface velocity. Based on the verification results, the proposed tilt image correction method was found to be over 97% accurate, whereas the experiment result of the surface velocity differed by approximately 4% as compared to the results calculated using the proposed method, thereby indicating high accuracy. Application of the proposed method to an image-based fixed automatic discharge measurement system can improve the accuracy of discharge measurement in the event of a flood when the water level changes rapidly.

Camera calibration is an indispensable process for improving measurement accuracy in industry fields such as machine vision. However, existing calibration cannot be applied to the calibration of mid-wave and long-wave infrared cameras. Recently, with the growing use of infrared thermal cameras that can measure defects from thermal properties, development of an applicable calibration target has become necessary. Thus, based on heat conduction analysis using finite element analysis, we developed a calibration target that can be used with both existing visible cameras and infrared thermal cameras, by implementing optimal design conditions, with consideration of factors such as thermal conductivity and emissivity, colors and materials. We performed comparative experiments on calibration target images from infrared thermal cameras and visible cameras. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed calibration target.
Consistent observation with high temporal and spatial resolution is required for an efficient monitoring of coastal environments. Remote monitoring system installed on the ground is capable of simultaneous observation of wide coastal area and consistent observation with high frequency, which a small number of in-situ measurements cannot manage. This paper studies two typical ground based coastal monitoring system, marine radar and camera system. Marine radar can produce time series of frequency spectrum by integrating wave number spectrum calculated from spatial and temporal variation of waves in the radar image. The time averaged radar images of waves can analyze wave breaking zone, rip currents and location of littoral bars. Camera system can observe temporal variation of foam generation originated from coastal contamination as well as shoreline changes. By extracting the part of foams from rectified images, quantitative analysis of temporal foam variation can be done. By using the two above systems of different characteristics, synergetic benefit can be achieved.

In this paper, the purpose of this paper is to predict and prevent the risk of crowd concentration in advance for possible future crowd accidents based on the Itaewon crush accident in Korea on October 29, 2022. In the case of a single CCTV, the administrator can determine the current situation in real time, but since the screen cannot be seen throughout the day, objects are detected using YOLOv4, which learns images taken with CCTV angle, and safety accidents due to crowd concentration are prevented by notification when the number of clusters exceeds. The reason for using the YOLO v4 model is that it improves with higher accuracy and faster speed than the previous YOLO model, making object detection techniques easier. This service will go through the process of testing with CCTV image data registered on the AI-Hub site. Currently, CCTVs have increased exponentially in Korea, and if they are applied to actual CCTVs, it is expected that various accidents, including accidents caused by crowd concentration in the future, can be prevented.
