  • This research enables the user to have access to the desired service which is on the multi-platform display device by establishment customized Digital Signage System using the SaaS method. This system is significantly favorable due to the following points: the expandibility and portability is outstanding compared with the existing signage system, establishment expenses may be reduced because the platform can be established in various configurations independently, maintenance and management, and the strong point of the system is that costs can be reduced due to the fact that the electric power can be controlled according to environmental situations. Various researches should be conducted simultaneously such as researches on automatic pattern recognition technologies which recognizes the sex, age, location among other data of the user and various methods of image processing for the production of contents to elaborate lively contents to provide diverse experience and enjoyable configurations for the future generation.

A CONSTRUCTION OF A SEMI-AUTOMATIC TELESCOPE FOR ECLIPSE TIMING OBSERVATIONS OF ECLIPSING BINARY STARS (식쌍성의 극심시각 관측을 위한 소형 반자동 망원경 관측시스템의 구성)

  • We constructed the photometric observation system with a small semi-automatic telescope for the systematic observations of eclipse timings of eclipsing binary stars. The system is consisted of a Paramount GT-1100s mount system, a Celestron 14 optical system, and a SBIG ST-8 camera. We developed the OBSTOOL S/W which controls the telescope and the CCD camera using the COM(Component Object Model) supported by the softwares, The Sky and MaximDL. The system performs photometric observations of a variable, comparison and check stars by moving the telescope to the chosen star separately in a similar way such as the method of photoelectric observation. We wrote pert scripts which enable a data handling pipeline for the obtained data to be classified by each of date, object and filter. And thus the images are easily preprocessed using the IRAF S/W package. Eclipse light curves of some eclipsing binary stars observed with this system are presented.

Keyboard Solo System using a Real Time Hand Recognition Method (실시간 손 인식 기법을 인용한 건반 연주 시스템)

  • As parents are interested in music education for infants in these days, they require systems to help these infants to actively play music. In this paper, we propose a keyboard solo system using a real time hand recognition method. In order to enable the infants to use the system easily, the proposed system plays some sounds whenever the infants move their fingers on a paper piano. For the purpose of minimizing cost to play music, the proposed system utilizes a general PC with only a paper piano, a web camera, and a speaker. With the aim of precisely and efficiently recognizing both a hand and each key on keyboard, the proposed system divides a recognition step into a hand recognition step and a keyboard recognition step. Also, the hand recognition step considers only skin color, and the keyboard recognition step considers only black and white without other colors.

  • Recently, artificial intelligence has been applied to various fields such as image recognition, image recognition speech recognition, and natural language processing, and interest in Deep Learning technology is increasing. Many researches on Convolutional Neural Network(CNN), which is one of the most representative algorithms among Deep Learning, have strong advantages in image recognition and classification and are widely used in various fields. In this paper, we propose a new network structure that transforms the general CNN structure. A typical CNN structure consists of a convolution layer, ReLU layer, and a pooling layer. Therefore in this paper, We intend to construct a new network by adding fully connected layer inside a general CNN structure. This modification is intended to increase the learning and accuracy of the convoluted image by including the generalization which is an advantage of the neural network.

  • Recently, the traditional call center, which has an important role as the customer's primary contact point, has been transformed into the omni-channel contact center which supports an additional variety of access channels in addition to phone calls in order to improve customer accessibility and convenience. The omni-channel contact center has agents on each channel which are vital in determining the response rate and waiting time for the customer. In traditional call centers, agents can be assigned to a call based on the characteristics of the call, however in omni-channel contact centers, the characteristics of issues vary and come in through multiple channels, each with their own characteristics, making it difficult to assign the appropriate agent for the issue. Customers must also be processed at the same time, adding an additional layer of complexity to the issue. This paper analyzes and simulates an omni-channel contact center that accommodates email, chat, voice calls and video consultation, and investigates how to optimize the allocation of agents.

Six Color Separation for Reducing Graininess in a Middle Tone Region (중간 계조 영역에서 낟알 무늬 특성을 감소시키기 위한 6색 분리 방법)

  • This paper proposes an improved six-color separation reducing the graininess in a middle tone region based on the standard deviation of the lightness and chrominance in S-CIELAB space. Graininess is regarded as visual perception for the fluctuation of the lightness of the light cyan and cyan or light magenta and magenta. In the conventional methods, the granularity is extremely heuristic and inaccurate due to the use of the visual examination score. Accordingly, this paper proposes a method to calculate the objective granularity for six color separation. First, we use the lightness, redness-greenness, and yellowness-blueness of the S-CIELAB space reflecting the spatial-color sensitivity of the human and normalize the sum of the three standard deviations. Finally, we apply the proposed granularity to the six color separation after assigning the granularity to the lookup table and obtain the result reducing the graininess in a middle tone region.

Interest area of game player through extraction of foreground Image (포그라인드 이미지 추출을 통한 게임 플레이어 관심 영역)

  • In the image processing, foreground image extraction is mainly applied to recognize a moving object or an object. In the game, the objects included in the foreground image can be mainly characters, non player characters, items, and the like. These objects can be the player's primary concern with objects that are the target of players' movement, attack, defense, and collection. In this background, this research is a study to extract players' interest areas. To this end, first, the foreground image is extracted. Second, the extracted foreground image is accumulated for a certain period of time, and the image is displayed as a result image. The accumulated foreground image according to the play time helps to know the location and frequency of screen appearance of game objects. This study can help players design their interest areas and design an efficient UX/UI.

Vision based 3D Hand Interface Using Virtual Two-View Method (가상 양시점화 방법을 이용한 비전기반 3차원 손 인터페이스)

  • With the consistent development of the 3D application technique, visuals are available at more realistic quality and are utilized in many applications like game. In particular, interacting with 3D objects in virtual environments, 3D graphics have led to a substantial development in the augmented reality. This study proposes a 3D user interface to control objects in 3D space through virtual two-view method using only one camera. To do so, homography matrix including transformation information between arbitrary two positions of camera is calculated and 3D coordinates are reconstructed by employing the 2D hand coordinates derived from the single camera, homography matrix and projection matrix of camera. This method will result in more accurate and quick 3D information. This approach may be advantageous with respect to the reduced amount of calculation needed for using one camera rather than two and may be effective at the same time for real-time processes while it is economically efficient.

  • DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) / IDCT(Inverse DCT) is widely used in various image compression and decompression systems as well as in DSP(Digital Signal Processing) applications. Since DCT/ IDCT is one of the most complicated part of the compression system, the performance of the system can be greatly enchanced by improving the speed of DCT/IDCT operation. In this thesis, we designed a DCT/IDCT core processor using module generator technique. By utilizing the partial sum and DA(Distributed Arithmetic) techniques, the DCT/ IDCT core processor is designed within small area. It is also designed to perform the IDCT(Inverse DCT) operation with little additional circuitry. The pipeline structure of the core processor enables the high performance, and the high accuracy of the DCT/IDCT operation is obtained by having fewer rounding stages. The proposed design is independent of design rules, and the number of the input bits and the accuracy of the internal calculation coa be easily adjusted due to the module generator technique. The accuracy of the processor satisfies the specifications in CCITT recommendation H, 261.

Adaptive Median Filter by Local Variance and Local Central Variance (로컬 분산과 로컬 중간값 분산을 이용한 적응형 메디안 필터)

  • Median Filters in the Signal Processing have been most widely used and have demonstrated the most strongest effects. This paper proposes the Adaptive Median Filters by using noise detection. The basic algorithm of the proposed filters is to determine whether noise or not by the each noise judgement standards, and then take the Median Filter if it satisfies the conditions as a result of judgement and returns to the original image(No Filters) if not. This paper presented Noise Detection by Local Variance and Local Central Variance for noise judgement, compared and analyzed the features and performance of existing [5]∼[10] Filters. Filter improved on the result of executing the existing filters at the same condition and showed the effects over that when it was judged with naked eyes. Accordingly, the Adaptive Median Filters by Local Variance and Local Central Variance was proven to have reinforced edge preservation ability and have the strong features for removing the Impulse Noise of the Median Filter.
