Study on the histomorphometry of guided bone regeneration using automated image analysis system (자동 영상분석 계기를 이용한 골 유도재생능력의 분석에 관한 조직계측학적 연구)

  • The assessment of alveolar bone changes on dental radiographs to indicate progression of periodontal diseases or healing response to therapy is routine procedure. However, the diagnostic accuracy in detecting small alveolar bone changes is very limited. Recently, guided bone regeneration therapy is popular, but the quantification of new bone is somewhat difficult with conventional evaluation method. To quantificate the amount of new bone, various evaluating methods have been introduced including histomorphometry, radiomorphometry, biochemical analysis, X-ray probe microanalysis, scanning electron microscope backscatter method. In this study, guided bone regeneration using resorbable membrane with & without PDGF-BB is quatificated through histomorphmetry to evaluate the efficacy of histomorphometric analysis. 4 beagle dogs and 8 Sprague-Dawley rats were selected as experimental animals. In beagle dog experiment, $4{\times}4mm$ Class II defects were created in maxillary both second premolars, and biodegradable membrane containing PDGF-BB(experimental group) were covered over one defect, and same membrane without PDGF-BB(control group) were covered over the other defect. At 2 weeks, 5 weeks after surgery, each beagle dogs were sacrificed, and the tissues were treated by undecalcified fixation. In Sprague-Dawley rat experiment, 5mm round defect were created in temporal bone, the same membranes were covered on the defects. At 1 week, 2 weeks after surgery, each rats were sacrificed, and undecalcified fixation were taken. After grinding tissue specimen, we analyse them histomorphometrically using image analysis system. In beagle dog 2 weeks specimens, new bone formation area were $0.03123mm^2$ in experimental group,and $0.03012mm^2$ in control group. At 5 weeks specimens, $0.15324mm^2$ in experimental group, and $0.09123mm^2$ in control group. In Sprague-Dawley rat specimens, new bone fomation area were $0.20448mm^2$ in 1 week experimental group, $0.03604mm^2$ in 1 week control group. At 2 weeks specimens, $0.46349mm^2$ in experimental group, $0.17741mm^2$ in control group. The results indicated that histomorphometric analysis of new bone formation using image analysis system is very effective quantification method to evaluate the efficacy of treatment modalities.

MONITORING OF REMINERALIZATION OF DECALCIFIED ENAMEL USING QUANTITATIVE LIGHT-INDUCED FLUORESCENCE-D (Quantitative light-induced fluorescence-D를 이용한 탈회 법랑질의 재석회화 감시)

  • The objective of this in vitro study was to monitor the amount of remineralization of decalcified enamel according to the number of fluoride varnish application using quantitative light-induced fluorescence-D and polarizing microscope. Artificial white lesion induced on the sound 72 teeth, $CavityShield^{TM}$ (Group I), $FluroDose^{TM}$ (Group II) and $Flor-Opal^{(R)}$ Varnish (Group III) were applied 1, 2 or 3 times every two weeks. The following results was obtained: 1. In group I, II and III, ${\Delta}L$ were increased. From regression analysis of ${\Delta}L$ by the number of application, the equation was y = 3.878x + 90.612 in group I, y = 3.133x + 37.168 in group II, and y = 3.509x + 82.322 in group III(p < 0.05). 2. In group I, II and III, ${\Delta}D$ were decreased. From regression analysis of ${\Delta}D$ by the number of application, the equation was y = -2.336x + 107.235 in group I, y = -2.158x + 101.620 in group II, and y = -1.940x + 94.806 in group III(p < 0.05). 3. The Pearson correlation value between the ${\Delta}L$ and ${\Delta}D$ was -0.673 in group I, -0.574 in group II, and -0.431 in group III(p < 0.05).

A Study of the Application of Earthquake Early Warning System for the Enhancements in Protective Action by Korea National Park (국립공원의 지진 대응 체계 개선을 위한 지진 조기경보 시스템의 적용에 관한 연구)

  • Conventional Earthquake Early Warning System (EEWS) detects the propagated P-wave from epicenter which should be achieved within 5 seconds to provide seconds to minutes of warning, allowing people to prepare for protective actions. EEWS in Korea is currently capable of providing a warning within 50 seconds after the primary P-wave detection, however, it is well-known that earthquake warning systems operating around Korean National Parks (KNP) have limited capability to fully monitor earthquake events. This study, therefore, presents a strategy to quantify the potential vulnerability to earthquake hazards by superimposing the distribution of Korea Integrated Seismic System (KISS) and the discretized map of KNP. Total 22 national parks are evaluated, and the results suggest that the improvement of the on-site systems should be necessitated for Gyoengju, Gyeryongsan, Songnisan, Gayasan, and Deogyusan national parks, whereas enhancement of regional systems is required for Bukhansan national park.

  • According to the recent development of measurement system utilizing one or a set of boreholes, visualization of the explored underground became to be a major issue. It induced even the introduction of monitoring apparatuses on the borehole wall with multi-function tool, but the usage of these was often limited by where is unfavorable rock condition and a few of engineers can approach. And so, a portable type of borehole camera with only the essential function has been investigated and a few of commercial models about this is recently being applied into the field condition. This paper was based on the monitoring results obtained using a commercial model by Dr. Nakagawa. Discontinuities in rock mass were the topic for the visualization, and it was studied how can visualize their three dimensional distribution and what a numerical formulation is needed and how to understand the visualization result. The numerical formulation was based on the geometric correlation between the dip direction / dip of discontinuous plane and the trend / plunge of borehole, a set of the equation of a plane was induced. As field application of this into two places, it is found that the above visualization methodology will be especially an useful geotechlical tool for analyzing the local distribution of discontinuities.

  • 본 연구는 도심지에 위치한 LPG 충전소를 연구범위로 하여 공간정보의 활용이 가장 많이 요구되는 안전관리 분야의 업무를 중심으로 공간정보를 효율적으로 구축 활용하기 위하여 데이터베이스를 중심으로 위험관리정보 시스템을 개발하였다. 이를 바탕으로 정량적 위험성 평가의 자동화를 통해 나타난 위험성을 실시간에 제어하기 위한 필요조건을 표준화하여 기초 정보자료로 구축, 이를 지리정보기능과 연동하여 LPG 충전소의 안전검사의 효율화, 사전 위험성 평가, 사고대응 판단의 효과적인 의사결정을 유도 할 수 있는 기반을 제공한다. 위험관리정보시스템(RMIS, Risk Management Information System) 개발절차는 다음과 같다 첫째, 도심지에 위치한 LPG 충전소 위험성 평가를 수행함에 있어서 기본적인 데이터인 부지내(On-site) 관련 자료와 부지 외(Off-site) 관련 자료를 관계형 데이터베이스(RDB, Relational Database)로 개발하였다. 둘째, Visual Basic을 이용하여 사용자가 효과적으로 위험을 관리 제어 할 수 있는 위험관리 통합 데이터베이스 시스템 개발하였다. 셋째, 위험관리 통합 데이터베이스 시스템과 지리정보시스템에 연동을 통한 의사결정 방안 제시하였다. 위험관리정보시스템(RMIS) 프로그램을 개발을 통하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 위험관리 데이터 이용하여 사용자와 검사자가 효과적으로 위험을 사전관리 할 수 있는 공유정보를 구축하였다. 둘째, 위험 관리를 부지 내와 부지 외로 나누어 관리함으로서 시설 내부 뿐 만 아니라 시설외부에 미치는 영향을 모두 고려하여 구축하므로 서, 중대사고에 대응 할 수 있는 종합적인 안전관리 기반을 조성하였다. 셋째, 사용자 인터페이스를 바탕으로 비상사태 발생시에 신속하고 정확한 의사결정을 할 수 있는 기반을 조성하였다. 제공하여 응용GIS 구축의 생산성 및 품질 향상에 기여할 뿐만 아니라 우리의 최종목표인 GIS 소프트웨어 자동 생산에도 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다. 등)을 교통망상에 표시할 수 있음으로서 의사결정에 보다 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 비트율의 증가와 화질 열화는 각각 최대 1.32%와 최대 0.11dB로 무시할 수 있을 정도로 작음을 확인 하였다.을 알 수 있었다. 현지관측에 비해 막대한 비용과 시간을 절약할 수 있는 위성영상해석방법을 이용한 방법은 해양수질파악이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, GIS를 이용하여 다양하고 복잡한 자료를 데이터베이스화함으로써 가시화하고, 이를 기초로 공간분석을 실시함으로써 환경요소별 공간분포에 대한 파악을 통해 수치모형실험을 이용한 각종 환경영향의 평가 및 예측을 위한 기초자료로 이용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.염총량관리 기본계획 시 구축된 모형 매개변수를 바탕으로 분석을 수행하였다. 일차오차분석을 이용하여 수리매개변수와 수질매개변수의 수질항목별 상대적 기여도를 파악해 본 결과, 수리매개변수는 DO, BOD, 유기질소, 유기인 모든 항목에 일정 정도의 상대적 기여도를 가지고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이로부터 수질 모형의 적용 시 수리 매개변수 또한 수질 매개변수의 추정 시와 같이 보다 세심한 주의를 기울여 추정할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.변화와 기흉 발생과의 인과관계를 확인하고 좀 더 구체화하기 위한 연구가 필요할 것이다.게 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.는 초과수익률이 상승하지만, 이후로는 감소하므로, 반전거래전략을 활용하는 경우 주식투자기간은 24개월이하의 중단기가 적합함을 발견하였다. 이상의 행태적 측면과 투자성과측면의 실증결과를 통하여 한국주식시장에 있어서 시장수익률을 평균적으로 초과할 수 있는 거래전략은 존재하므로 이러한 전략을 개발 및 활용할 수 있으며, 특히, 한국주

PREDICTION OF THE SUN-GLINT LOCATIONS FOR THE COMMUNICATION, OCEAN AND METEOROLOGICAL SATELLITE (통신해양기상위성에서의 태양광 반사점(SUN-GLINT) 위치예측)

  • For the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) which will be launched in 2008, an algorithm for finding the precise location of the sun-glint point on the ocean surface is studied. The precise locations of the sun-glint are estimated by considering azimuth and elevation angles of Sun-satellite-Earth geometric position and the law of reflection. The obtained nonlinear equations are solved by using the Newton-Raphson method. As a result, when COMS is located at $116.2^{\circ}E$ or $128.2^{\circ}E$ longitude, the sun-glint covers region of ${\pm}10^{\circ}(N-S)$ latitude and $80-150^{\circ}(E-W)$ longitude. The diurnal path of the sun-glint in the southern hemisphere is curved towards the North Pole, and the path in the northern hemisphere is forwards the south pole. The algorithm presented in this paper can be applied to predict the precise location of sun-glint region in any other geostationary satellites.

Leukocyte-Endothelial Cell Adhesion Induced by Ischemia and Reperfusion Observed with in vivo Videomicroscopy (허혈-재관류에 의해 유도된 백혈구-혈관내피세포 유착에 대한 Videomicroscopy 영상소견)

  • Purpose : Recent evidence suggests a possible role for leukocytes in brain injury following ischemia and reperfusion. This study examined the temporal profile of ischemic tissue damage and leukocyte response after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) with reperfusion in the mouse. Methods : Focal cerebral ischemia was made by temporary occluding of the stem of the proximal MCA. Two groups of the mouse were investigated : (1) sham operation(n=10), and (2)those having the arterial occlusion released after 90 minute(n=20). By 4 hours(n=10) and 24 hours(n=10) after the onset of ischemia-reperfusion, fluorescein videoimages were under-taken in the pial venules of the mouse using a closed cranial window technique. Rhodamine 6G was administered as a $80-100{\mu}l/min$ i.v. loading dose and a $30-40{\mu}l/min$ i.v. maintenance dose in saline to selectively label circulating leukocytes. Neuropathologic evaluation for brain injury was accomplished using the histochemical stain 2,3,5-triphen-yltetrazolium chloride(TTC) and hematoxylin and eosin(H & E) stain. Results : The mean number of adherent leukocytes to cerebral venules in the 90 minutes MCAO and 24 hours reperfusion group were $306{\pm}24$ compared with $72{\pm}8$ in the sham operation group. In the TTC staining method, the cortical infarct affecting 34.8% of hemispheric volume were created in all of animals (n=10) undergoing 90 minute MCAO with 24 hours reperfusion, but the infarcted area were not found in the other(sham operation and 90 minute MCAO with 4 hours reperfusion)groups. In the H & E stain, the brain tissue following 90 minute MCAO with 4 hours reperfusion revealed only a pyknosis of the nuclei with shrunken cytoplasm, but infiltrated leukocytes were not observed. After 24 hours of reperfusion, a many leukocytes were infiltrated within parenchyma and blood vessles. Conclusions : These findings demonstrate the feasiblity of continous in vivo monitoring of leukocyte adherence in cerebral venules and suggest that reperfusion induced leukocyte adherence to venular endothelium may contribute to tissue injury following focal cerebral ischemia.

  • Self-reflexivity means consciousness turning back on itself and breaks with art as illusionism and exposes their own factitiousness as textual construct. Self-reflexivity in media deals with the media's condition and process itself and tends to pull viewers out of the reality represented on screen by reminding them that is a media's construction or illusion on the screen. Representation aesthetics has been recognized with an essential theory of the art since Ancient Greek, but it has encountered crisis with the invention of the photography and the cinema in the early 1900s. The supreme transparency of the new media induced a new perspective for the representation aesthetics, which had dominated the art world. The art derived from the representation stood on the crossroad of changing direction. Modernism aesthetics wanted to search for the self-referentiality in order to the replace the past principal. This essay focuses on self-reflexivity in animation and their methodology. First, the change of representation aesthetics in visual arts will be discussed. Second, animations exposing their process of production and components will be analyzed, and lastly, intertextuality in animation will be dealt. I hope to provide the vision of the expanded animation media with this study.

  • Media consumers in the context of the Internet and digital media are using the same content to a variety of platforms. As such, the content of various genres is converted to the form of a new content through the process of fusion, combination, transformation, differentiation, reproduction, etc on the basis of digital media. That is referred to as trans-media. In order to create the successful content in trans-media era, it requires the work of Edi-curation. Edi-curation work is the act of editing and adding meaning to the curation work of curators. In that sense, this paper analyzed the definition and meaning for Edi-curation of publishing and comic(webtoon) content in trans-media era. Edi-curation process induces the changing role of consumers and producers of content in the digital media experience. In process of Edi-curation, consumers(producers) will soon lead to a media producer(consumer), namely proconsumer / produser. Diversification of digital platforms and devices, digital 1 person (or SNS) appeared in the media, etc. are also required to Edi-curation of content and comic(webtoon) published in a variety of ways. Depending on the intention of media producers (or consumers), content through the process of replication, montage, disassembly, dismantling, hypertext, compression, and reconstruction births to new content. The work of Edi-curation has the significance that it affects the way the media producers work in creative process, as well as the reading content of the media consumers. In the publishing content, Edi-curation work is the logicality destruction of a chapter or a paragraph, a sentence of colloquialisms, card news, the deformation of the utilization of video and media content. Meanwhile in the comic(webtoon) content, we mention the destruction of cut(frame), the various modifications of speech bubbles, onomatopoeia, and mimetic word.

A Study on the Economic Analysis Method of Energy Storage System (에너지 저장 시스템(ESS)의 경제성 분석 기법에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the government is promoting the new renewable energy spread and expansion policy. To this end, the investment and the research is ongoing on the core of the ESS (Energy Storage System) for the Smart Grid that is being spread around the industrialized countries. US and European countries have also conducted a variety of ESS related systems maintenance and improvement in order to induce the activation of the ESS industry. On the other hand, our country has no law and institutional foundation for the introduction of activation ESS, and there is no objective basis for the economic impact of the introduction of the ESS. Therefore, spread and activation of the ESS is not properly conducted. In this paper, the economics of the ESS based on the Korea electric pricing system for the spread and activation of the ESS effectively proposes a technique for analysis. To do this, define the ESS operating model, and propose the best economic analysis method economic analysis comparing each operating model.
