Comparative Study on the Thermal Insulation of Membrane LNG CCS by Heat Transfer Analysis (열전달 해석을 이용한 멤브레인형 LNG 화물창의 단열구조 성능비교)

  • This study discusses the thermal insulation capacity of variant of NO96 LNG (liquefied natural gas) cargo containment insulation system. Changing the insulation materials and the insulation layers of conventional GTT NO96 containment system, The thermal resistance and BOR(boil off rate) caused by the heat transfer between cryogenic and environmental temperature is discussed. Therefore, thermal analysis of LNG CCS(cargo containment system) is carried out to determine the insulation capabilities. Also, BOR is evaluated in terms of the total amount of heat invaded into CCS(cargo containment system). Variant of NO96 CCS such as NO96, NO96GW and NO96L3 membrane type during laden voyage is selected for the comparative study. Finite element model for heat transfer analysis is conducted by employing the equivalent thermal resistance model to simplify the complex insulation layers. Finally the results for each variant model are relatively compared and discussed to minimize the BOR.

  • Based on a generalized variational principle for magneto-thermo-elasticity, a theoretical model is proposed to describe the coupled magneto-thermo-elastic interaction in soft ferromagnetic plates. Using the linearized theory of magneto-elasticity and perturbation technique, we analyze the magneto-elastic and magneto-thermo-elastic instability of simply supported ferromagnetic plates subjected to thermal and magnetic fields. A nonlinear finite element procedure is developed next to simulate the magneto-thermo-elastic behavior of a finite-size ferromagnetic plates. The effects of thermal and magnetic fields on the magneto-thermo-elastic bending and buckling is investigated in some detail.

  • A spacecraft radiator is a thermal control method to eject internally dissipated heat into the space generated from operation of unit boxes. The efficiency of thermal design may be improved by optimizing radiator design. In this paper, the optimization approach method of node-based radiator design was suggested which is to combine numerical thermal analysis with optimization algorithm. This method has meaning that it can be used practically to implement the spacecraft radiator design regardless of thermal analysis and optimization algorithm software and maintain the same basic concept of an ordinary radiator design approach based on node division of a thermal model. The overall analysis framework with thermal analysis and optimization algorithm would be presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 machine reading 분야에서 기존의 long short-term memory (LSTM) 모델이 가지는 문제점을 해결하는 새로운 네트워크를 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 LSTM 모델은 크게 두가지 제한점을 가지는데, 그 중 첫째는 forget gate로 인해 잊혀진 중요한 문맥 정보들이 복원될 수 있는 방법이 없다는 것이다. 자연어에서 과거의 문맥 정보에 따라 현재의 단어의 의미가 크게 좌지우지될 수 있으므로 올바른 문장의 이해를 위해 필요한 과거 문맥의 정보 유지는 필수적이다. 또 다른 문제는 자연어는 그 자체로 단어들 간의 복잡한 구조를 통해 문장이 이루어지는 반면 기존의 시계열 모델들은 단어들 간의 관계를 추론할 수 있는 직접적인 방법을 가지고 있지 않다는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 최근 딥 러닝 분야에서 널리 쓰이는 attention mechanism과 본 논문이 제안하는 restore gate를 결합한 네트워크를 통해 상기 문제를 해결하고자 한다. 본 논문의 실험에서는 기존의 다른 시계열 모델들과 비교를 통해 제안한 모델의 우수성을 확인하였다.

Electric Power Demand Prediction Using Deep Learning Model with Temperature Data (기온 데이터를 반영한 전력수요 예측 딥러닝 모델)

  • Recently, researches using deep learning-based models are being actively conducted to replace statistical-based time series forecast techniques to predict electric power demand. The result of analyzing the researches shows that the performance of the LSTM-based prediction model is acceptable, but it is not sufficient for long-term regional-wide power demand prediction. In this paper, we propose a WaveNet deep learning model to predict electric power demand 24-hour-ahead with temperature data in order to achieve the prediction accuracy better than MAPE value of 2% which statistical-based time series forecast techniques can present. First of all, we illustrate a delated causal one-dimensional convolutional neural network architecture of WaveNet and the preprocessing mechanism of the input data of electric power demand and temperature. Second, we present the training process and walk forward validation with the modified WaveNet. The performance comparison results show that the prediction model with temperature data achieves MAPE value of 1.33%, which is better than MAPE Value (2.33%) of the same model without temperature data.

Thermo-Mechanical Characteristics of a Plate Structure under Mechanical and Thermal Loading (외력과 열하중을 동시에 받는 판구조의 열-기계적 특성)

  • The thermo-mechanical analysis and test were performed for plate structure under mechanical and thermal loading conditions. Infrared heating system and hydraulic loading system were used to simulate mechanical and thermal environment for the plate structure which is similar to the fin of the airframe. Also, FEM analysis using plastic option was added to evaluate thermo-mechanical behavior. Thermo-mechanical tests were conducted at elevated temperature and rapid heating(10℃/sec) condition with external loading together. To investigate the effect of heating environment, the strength at room temperature was compared with that of elevated temperature and rapid heating condition. A methodology for test and analysis for supersonic vehicle subjected to aerodynamic loading and heating was generated through the study. These experimental and analysis results can be used for designing thermal resistance structures of the supersonic vehicle.

  • MIRIS(Multipurpose InfraRed Imaging System)는 과학기술위성 3호의 주 탑재체로서 2011년 발사예정인 다목적 적외선 카메라 시스템이다. MIRIS는 우주관측 카메라와 지구관측 카메라로 구성되어 있으며, 우주관측 카메라는 $0.9-2.0{\mu}m$ 영역에서 3.67 deg. x 3.67 deg. FOV로 우리 은하평면 survey 관측과 우주배경복사(CIB) 관측을 수행할 것이다. 현재 MIRIS는 비행모델 개발 마무리 단계에 있으며, 검교정 시험, 열-진공 시험, 진동 시험 등을 수행하고 나면 2010년 말 위성 본체와의 조립을 진행할 것이다. 우주관측 카메라는 궤도상에서 태양, 지구의 적외선 복사와 망원경과 검출기 주변에서 발생하는 열잡음을 줄이기 위해 냉각이 필요하며, 제한된 위성의 무게와 부피, 전력등의 요구조건들 때문에 망원경 및 구조체의 복사냉각(Passive Cooling) 방법을 선택하였다. Passive cooling으로 우주관측 카메라의 망원경이 200K 이하로 냉각되면, dewar에 설치된 소형 냉각기를 가동하여 적외선 센서를 80K로 냉각한다. 위성체 내벽과 우주관측카메라의 각 구조체들 사이의 복사를 차단하기위해 30층의 MLI를 적용 하였고, 각 구조체들간의 열전도를 최소화하기위해 GFRP supporter를 적용하였다. 이 실험은 천문(연)에서 자체 제작한 열-진공 챔버를 활용하여 진행하였으며, 이미 인증모델에 대한 passive cooling 실험을 두 차례 실시하였고, 그 실험 결과를 반영하여 최종 비행모델에 대한 실험을 수행하였으며, 그 실험 결과에 대해 논의 하고자 한다.

  • A light water reactor (LWR) fuel rod consists of zirconium alloy cladding tube and uranium dioxide pellets with a slight gap between them. The modeling of heat transfer across the gap between fuel pellets and the protective cladding is essential to understanding fuel behavior under irradiated conditions. Many researchers have been developing fuel performance codes based on finite element method (FE) to calculate temperature, stress and strain for multidimensional analysis. The gap conductance model for multi-dimension is difficult issue in terms of convergence and nonlinearity because gap conductance is function of gap thickness which depends on mechanical analysis at each iteration step. In this paper, virtual link gap element (VLG) has been proposed to resolve convergence issue and nonlinear characteristic of multidimensional gap conductance. In terms of calculation accuracy and convergence efficiency, the proposed VLG model has been evaluated for variable cases.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy measure and integral-based model fnr interactive systems is proposed. The processes of model identification consists of the following three steps : (i) structure identification (ii) parameter identification and (iii) selection of an optimal model. An algorithm for the model structure identification using the well-known genetic algorithm ((;A) with a modified selection operator is proposed. A method for the identification of par;imetcrs corresponding to fuzzy measures is presented. A statistical model selection criterion is used for the selection of an optimal model among the candidates. Finally, experimental results obtained hy applying the proposed model to the subjective evaluation data set and the well-known time series data are presented to show the validity of the proposed model.

Performance Evaluation of Chain-code Sequence and Structure-code Sequence for On-line Handwritten Chinese Character Recognition (온라인 필기 한자인식을 위한 체인코드열과 구조코드열의 성능평가)

  • 본 논문에서는 보다 실용적인 온라인 한자인식기 개발을 위하여 한자 검정 능력 1급 쓰기 수준을 모두 포함하는 한자 필기 데이터로부터 16방향의 체인코드열과 부분획의 구조를 반영하는 구조코드열을 만들어 성능평가를 하였다. 인식 방법으로는 DP 매칭 방법과 HMM을 사용하여 2,362 종류의 한자에 대해 인식 실험을 하였다. 그 결과 체인코드열을 사용한 DP 매칭 방법에 의한 결과가 96.54%로 가장 높은 인식률을 보였으며, 구조코드열을 사용하여 HMM에 의한 인식실험 결과가 95.65%로 그 뒤를 이었다. 인식 속도면에서는 체인코드 보다 코드열의 길이가 짧은 구조코드열을 사용한 방법이 상대적으로 유리했고, 클래스 당 1개의 모델을 사용한 HMM에 의한 방법이 클래스 당 복수개의 모델을 사용한 DP 매칭 방법에 비해 모델의 개수가 훨씬 적기 때문에 속도 면에서 월등히 유리해 더 효율적인 인식 성능을 보인다는 결론을 내릴 수 있었다.
