Capacitive Sensor for in situ Measurement of Deterioration of Car Engine Oil (자동차 엔진오일 열화상태 in situ 측정용 전기용량 센서)

  • A coil-type capacitive sensor on which the deterioration of the car engine oil can be in situ measured, has been developed. The sensor was designed to get over 10 pF at the limited space on the drain hole of the oil pan. The design factors for stable capacitance measurement such as coil diameter and winding condition, materials and configuration of the coil former, and shielding method, etc., were known by both computer simulation and experimental investigations. The dielectric properties measured by several sensors for an used sample oil were consisted within 0.25%. The sensor installed on the car having severe vibration, temperature and humidity fluctuation, even electromagnetic noise, has shown very distinguishable results.

  • This paper proposes on-line based a deterioration diagnosis device for diagnosis pole transformers using tan$\delta$ and FFT(fast Fourier transform). We measured tan$\delta$ and temperature to diagnose pole transformer insulating oil, diagnostic results are processed by FFT. For measuring convenience, we use R/F(radio frequency) wireless data communication module operating by secondary voltage of pole transformer. We have voltage variation test and oil temperature variation test to prove usability of proposed diagnosis device. The result of this paper shows that the proposed device can be used as deterioration diagnosis device of pole transformers.

  • 본 논문에서는 22.9kV급 지중 전력 케이블의 열화에 의한 특성 변화를 분석한다. 케이블이 실제 선로로 포설될 경우 케이블에는 고전압이 흐르게 되고, 이로 인해 열이 발생하게 된다. 이와 같이 발생한 열에 의한 절연체 이상은 케이블 사고로 이어지므로 케이블의 열화 특성 분석은 사고를 미연에 방지하기 위해서 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실제 선로에 사용된 후 교체된 케이블의 감쇠 상수를 구하여 열화가 진행된 정도에 따른 감쇠상수의 변화를 분석한다. 이 때, 네트워크분석기의 S-파라미터를 이용하여 감쇠 상수를 구하고, 정상 상태 케이블과 폐 케이블의 감쇠상수를 비교하여 열화에 의한 케이블의 특성을 분석한다.

  • 국내에서 배전용 변압기 제조업체 수는 매년 조금씩 증가하고 있지만 품질향상을 위한 연구가 미흡하여, 전력회사가 요구하는 품질수준을 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 변압기는 전선의 취약부분에서 우선적으로 고장이 발생하게 된다. 정상운전 중 과열점 온도에 의해 절연지가 열 연화되어 고장으로 진전되게 된다. 따라서 변압기의 수명을 결정짓기 위해서는 무엇보다 내부 열특성 해석과 발생된 열에 대한 절연물의 열화 현상을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 변압기 절연지의 열화 현상과 열화로 인한 절연특성 변화메커니즘에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 절연지의 열화는 변압기 충간의 절연상태를 약화하고 다른 환경적인 요인이 부가될 경우 고장으로 급격히 진전될 수 있다.

Evaluation of Concrete Bridge Deck Deterioration Using Ground Penetrating Radar Based on an Extended Common Mid-Point Method (확장형 공통중간점법 기반 지표투과레이더를 이용한 콘크리트 교량 바닥판 열화 상태 평가)

  • This study proposed a new non-destructive evaluation method for concrete bridge deck deterioration using ground penetrating radar (GPR). To calculate dielectric constant of the concrete bridge deck, an extended common mid-point (XCMP) method was developed for a two-layered structure using an air-coupled GPR antenna setup. The deterioration conditions of the concrete bridge deck such as deterioration depth was evaluated based on the dielectric constant and surface-to-average dielectric constant ratio of the concrete bridge deck. A GPR field test was conducted on an old concrete bridge with asphalt concrete surfacing to validate the new evaluation method. The test results showed that the newly proposed method estimated pavement thickness and deterioration depth of the concrete deck in a reasonable level.

  • 본 논문에서는 철도차량 견인전동기에 대한 상태진단 및 상시감시 기술에 관하여 소개하였다. 권선의 절연상태 진단을 위한 비파괴 시험법에서는 부분방전량 Q에 대한 평균열화도 $\Delta$로 표현되는 D-Map에 의해 잔여 절연내력(residual dielectric strength)을 예측하고, 기기의 운전이력측면에서 기동-정지 횟수와 열적, 전기적 및 열싸이클 스트레스 등에 의해 각 열화 인자를 고려한 운전시간에 기반한 N-Y 수명예측을 수행한다. 그리고 견인전동기의 전류에 대한 온라인 상태감시를 통해 베어링 고장, 고정자 및 전기자 고장, 고장 또는 전동기축 손상에 기인하는 비정상 운전상태 의 감지를 수행한다.

Theoretical Characteristics of the Probe with Respect to the Engine Oil States (엔진오일 상태에 대한 프로브의 이론 특성)

  • Depending on the status of the engine oil, the dielectric constant is changed. Dielectric constant of oil is related to the characteristic impedance of the probe and the characteristic impedance of the probe determines the reflected signal. In this paper, we derive an equivalent circuit of the probe and using the dielectric constant obtained by measuring the capacitance, the theoretical reflection coefficient of the probe was calculated. In the results, if the engine oil is deteriorated, we can see that the reflection coefficient is increased.

  • The XLPE(or CV) cables installed to deliver high electric power from generator at the power station have operating for the last 40 years in Korea. In 6-8 years from the time of initial operation, the cables in operation start a deteriorating process, depending on the installation and usage conditions. Some cables, even before 6-8 years from the installation, can cause accidents due to the faulty construction or other inadequate environments. In order to prevent cable accident in advance, the regular auditing of power cables are required. For a systematic realization of surveillance and prevention of accidents, we have invented a measuring device. In this paper, we present the device installed at Korean Western Power Co. Ltd., in order to detect the deterioration status of insulation resistances of dielectrics in the cables. We present that the measured results by the device we developed show the deteriorating processes in the cables in operation.

Highway Bridge Inspection Period Based on Risk Assessment (위험도평가에 의한 고속도로 교량의 점검주기)

  • Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Period was proposed for highway bridges in Korea. Hazard factors affecting bridge condition deterioration were found by analyzing condition data from Highway Bridge Management System (HBMS). Certain level of correlations between those factors and condition deterioration were found. They are used to evaluate hazard score. Summarizing several hazard factors, final hazard is classified as three level;high, moderate, low. Vulnerability is assessed only by the current state of bridge. Then, risk matrix is suggested for inspection periods. Inspection periods of the bridges with grade C, D, and E are maintained the same as before. But, those of grade A and B with moderate and high hazard score are elongated to maximum 6 years while the maximum inspection period is three years at present. By adjusting inspection period according to risk assessment, it was shown that 27% of average inspection manpower can be saved.

  • Until a recent day, degradation of PEMFC MEA(membrane and electrode assembly) has been studied, separated with membrane degradation and electrode degradation, respectively. But membrane and electrode were degraded coincidentally at real PEMFC operation condition. During simultaneous degradation, there was interaction between membrane degradation and electrode degradation. Hydrogen permeability was used often to measure degradation of electrolyte membrane in PEMFC. In case of hydrogen permeability measured by LSV(Linear Sweep Voltammetry) method, the degradation of electrode decrease the value of hydrogen crossover current due to LSV methode's dependence on electrode active area. In this study hydrogen permeability was measured by gas chromatograph(GC) when membrane and electrode degraded at the same time. It was showed that degradation of electrode did not affect the hydrogen permeability measured by GC because of GC methode's independence on electrode active area.
