  • The copolyester was prepared by melt polycondensation varying the amount of ethylene glycol(EG) and pentanediol from terephthalic acid(TPA), EG and pentanediol isomers were. used as the third monomer. The chemical structure and the compositions of the copolyester were determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Thermal properties were investigated with the aid of differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analyzer.

  • 형상기억합금 선(Shape Memory Alloy Fibers : SMA Fibers)을 삽입한 복합재료 평판의 고온 환경에서의 열적 좌굴 및 진동 해석을 유한요소법을 이용하여 수행하였다 1 차 전단변형이론을 적용하여 적층판을 모델링하였고, 온도 변화 효과는 적층판의 전 영역에서 균일한 온도 분포로 가정하였다. 형상기억합금 선의 온도에 대한 비선형 재료 성질을 고려하여 열적 좌굴 해석 수행 시 반복 계산법을 이용하였고, 자유 진동 해석에서는 시스템의 자유도를 줄이기 위하여 Guyan-Reduction(CR)을 사용하였다. 온도 변화와 형상기억합금 선의 체적비(volume fraction) 및 초기 변형률(initial strain) 변화에 따른 임계 온도와 고유 진동수의 특성을 해석하였다.

Comparison of hand, thermal and optical properties of woven fabrics made of triangular and circular shaped filaments (삼각사와 원형사로 제직된 직물의 태, 열적성질 및 광학적 성질의 비교)

  • The handle of fabrics including tactility and sense of visuality are closely related to the factors governing the preferences of end-users. This study shows the change of mechanical properties, thermal properties and optical properties by comparing two fabrics which are woven with circular shaped filaments and with triangular ones. The fabric mechanical characteristics required for primary hand values were evaluated with the KES-FB system. The mechanical properties measured by KES-FB system shows that fabrics made of circular filaments are greater than those made of triangular ones. The thermal properties measured by KES-F7(Thermo Labo II) system shows that the values of the initial maximum value(qmax) and the thermal conductivity(λ) are higher in the fabric made of triangular shaped ones. When the light rays tall on a surface, the fabric made of triangular filaments shows more lustrous than circular ones.

  • Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)/functionalized-MWNT hybrid films were prepared by the solution intercalation method, using 4-cumylphenol-MWNT (CP-MWNT) as the functionalized-MWNT. The variation of the thermomechanical properties, morphology, gas permeability, and optical transparency of the hybrid films with CP-MWNT content in the range of 0$\sim$2.00 wt% were examined. The newly synthesized UHMWPE/functionalized-MWNT hybrid films were characterized by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and a universal tensile machine (UTM). It was found that the addition of only a small amount of functionalized-MWNT was sufficient to improve the thermomechanical properties of the UHMWPE hybrid films, with maximum enhancement being observed in the CP-MWNT loading in the range 0.50 to 1.00 wt%. The maximum enhancement in the oxygen gas barrier was also found at the functionalized MWNT content of 1.00 wt%. In this work, the thermomechanical properties and gas permeability of the hybrid films were found to be better than those of pure UHMWPE.

  • Polyurethane은 물리적, 화학적 성질이 매우 다른 두 segment(hard/soft)로 이루어진 block copolymer로서 hard segment의 화학적 구조가 hard segment의 packing정도에 영향을 미쳐, PU의 미세상분리 현상을 결정하며 결과적으로 PU의 물리적 성질에 큰 영향을 미치게 된다$^1$. 본 연구에서는 hard segment의 packing을 향상시켜 PU은 열적 기계적 특성을 향상시키기 위하여 방향족환으로 구성되어 있어 aromatic diol의 일종인 hydroxyquinone-di-(beta-hydroxyl)ether(HQEE)를 chain extender로 사용하여 PU를 합성하였다.
