A Performance Analysis of a Spark Ignition Engine Using Gasoline, Methanol and M90 by the Thermodynamic Second Law (가솔린, 메탄올, M90 연료를 사용한 전기점화기관에서의 열역학 제 2법칙적 성능해석)

  • 열역학 제 2법칙의 관점의 열역학적 가용에너지인 엑서지 해석법을 적용하여 가솔린, 메탄올, M90 연료를 사용한 전기점화 기관의 성능해석을 수행하였다. 열역학적 사이클 해석을 위하여 사이클을 구성하는 각 과정은 열역학적 모델로 단순화하였고, 크랭크 각도에 따른 실린더의 압력과 작동유체를 구성하는 연료, 공기 및 연소생성물의 열역학적 물성 값들을 이용하여 각 과정에서의 엑서지와 손실 일을 계산하였다. 실험데이터는 단기통 전기점화기관을 가솔린, 메탄올과 M90(메탄을 90%+부탄 10%의 혼합연료)을 연료로 WOT(Wide Open Throttle), MBT(Minimum advanced spark timing for Best Torque), 2500rpm 조건으로 운전하여 측정하였다. 계산에 이용한 자료는 실험으로 측정한 크랭크 각도에 따른 연소실의 압력, 흡입공기와 연료유량, 흡입공기 온도, 냉각수 온도와 배출가스 온도 등이다. 이를 이용하여 각 과정에서의 엑서지와 손실 일을 계산하였으며 각 과정에서의 손실 일은 연소과정에서 가장 크며 팽창과정, 배출과정, 압축과정 및 흡입과정 순으로 크게 나타났다.

  • An organic Rankine cycle for ocean thermal energy conversion system is a generating cycle using the temperature difference between surface water and deep water of the ocean. The working fluid is an important factor in the thermodynamic performance of an organic Rankine cycle. There is pinch point analysis as thermodynamic analysis of an organic Rankine cycle. This study performed a thermodynamic performance analysis according to variation in the pinch point temperature difference in heat exchangers and variation of outlet temperature of heat source and heat sink. It analyzed the thermodynamic performance by applying seven types of simple working fluids in a simple Rankine cycle for ocean thermal energy conversion that was designed according to pinch point analysis. As a result of the performance analysis, cycle irreversibility and total exergy destruction factor more decreased, and second law efficiency more increased in the lower pinch point temperature difference and temperature variation of heat source and heat sink in heat exchangers. In addition, the irreversibility changed greatly at a point that occurred in the thermodynamic variation. Among the selected working fluids, RE245fa2 showed the best thermodynamic performance, and the performance of all working fluids was observed to be similar. It needs a strict theoretical basis about diverse factors with thermodynamic performances in selecting heat exchangers and working fluids.

  • The operation of a gas-turbine engine gradually deteriorates the performance of its main components and often generates the defects of its components. The GPA method has been usually used for the diagnosis of the deterioration. In this study, the diagnostic code of the engine performance using the thermodynamic sensitivity between the sensed parameters and the health parameters has been developed without an application of the commercial program. The single performance deterioration of the turbo-shaft engine for SUAV has been estimated with this code.

  • It is very difficult to accurately calculate efficiency of each accessory device constituting the pump system and pump efficiency by the Conventional efficiency measurement method only. Therefore, this study introduced the lastest Thermodynamic pump efficiency measurement method in the district heating pump system for the first time in Korea. As a result, data uncertainty was high by the Conventional method, but the pump and Hydraulic Coupling efficiency values applied the Thermodynamic and Conventional method parallel measurement data were able to derive meaningful results that verified the reliability and adequancy of the pump performance measurement method by performing complementary roles. In additon, as a result of applying the Thermodynamic method to the distirct heating pump system, despite the high temperature environment of up to 120 ℃, it was possible to verify the reliability of the Thermodynamic method, such as high stable data mesurement, and durability of the measurement equipment.

  • Thermodynamic method of pump performance measurement calculates pump efficiency and flowrate by measuring fluid temperature increase and pressure rise through the pump. The theory of this method is investigated and precise comparison experiment with classical hydraulic method was conducted to verify the accuracy. Classical hydraulic pump performance measurement results and Yatesmeter results based on the thermodynamic method showed good agreement in measured performance.

  • 디젤 기관의 출력 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 실린더 내로 흡입되는 공기를 적극적인 방법으로 밀도가 높은 공기로 압입시키는 과급기는 디젤기관의 종합 성능을 결정하는 중요한 인자가 되고 있다. 이와 같은 관점에서 터보 과급기의 성능을 규명하고 과급기의 특성에 관한 사항을 열역학적 해석과 압축기 및 터빈의 성능 특성을 살펴보기로 한다. 여기서는 주로 과급기의 성능 특성을 중심으로 다루기로 한다.

  • 환경문제에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라, 냉동공조 산업에서 다양하게 이용되는 냉매에 대하여도 많운 시각이 집중되고 있다. 특히, 몬트리얼 의정서와 교토의정서에 의한 지구온난화 물질에 대한 규제로 CFCs와 HCFCs 냉매를 사용하지 못하게 펌에 따라 냉동공조업계에서는 열역학적 물성치가 우수하고 환경친화적인 대체냉매의 개발에 관한 연구를 활발히 진행하고 있다. 이러한 문제의 근본적인 해결책은 자연상태로 존재하는 자연냉매를 이용하는 것이디. 이산화탄소, 암모니아, 탄화수소계열, 물, 공기 등이 대표적으로 거론되고 있는 자연냉매이다. 이 중에서 도 이산화탄소는 인체에 무해하며, 독성이 없고, 화 학적으로 안정하며,기존의 냉동기 재료를 그대로 사용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한 열역학적 성질 및 전달물성이 우수하고, 냉통기에 적용할 때 성능이 개선될 가능성이 많다는 점도 매우 고무적이다. 본 고에서는 최근 가장 주목을 받고 있는 이산화탄소를 이용한 냉동사이클의 특성과 성능향상 방안에 대하여 기존 연구결과를 정리하여 설명하고자 한다.

  • Because of accumulation of operation time, the performance of main components(compressor, combustor, turbine, etc.) come to be deteriorated in gas-turbine engine. So, high reliability and minimun of expense are important problem for engine manufacturer and user in operation of gas-turbine engine. In this study, the diagnostic code of the engine performance using the thermodynamic sensitivity between the sensed parameters and the health parameters has been developed without an application of the commercial program. The single performance deterioration of the turbo-shaft engine has been estimated with this code.

Thermodynamic Performance Characteristics of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) using LNG Cold Energy (LNG 냉열을 이용하는 유기랭킨사이클(ORC)의 열역학적 성능 특성)

  • In this work a thermodynamic performance analysis is carried out for a combined cycle consisted of an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) and a LNG cycle. The combined system uses a low grade waste heat in the form of sensible energy and the LNG cold energy is used for power generation as well as for heat sink. The effects of the key parameters of th system such as turbine inlet pressure, condensation temperature and source temperature on the characteristics of system are throughly investigated. The simulation results show that the thermodynamic performance of the combined system can be significantly improved compared to the normal ORC which is not using the LNG cold energy.
