A Study on the Application of Manganese Oxidizing Bacteria for Manganese Treatment in Acid Mine Drainage (산성광산배수의 망간처리를 위한 MOB 적용에 관한 연구)

  • Domestic treatment facilities for acid mine drainage (AMD) mostly used a passive treatment process. But some passive treatment facility discharged high manganese concentrations because it is required high pH (>9) for abiotic oxidation of Mn(II) to Mn(IV). This study was focused on the feasibility of biological manganese treatment using the manganese-oxidizing bacteria (Pseudomonas sp. MN5) from AMD and economical application method of it. To investigate the various conditions of water quality the most part of the experiments were based on batch test. And result of it showed that maximum manganese oxidation rate were $10.4mg/L{\cdot}h$ at the pH7. We also performed small column tests in which MOB were attached to the functional polyurethane (FPU) media containing alkaline chemicals. Manganese concentration decreased 42 mg/L to below 6 mg/L. But anaerobic condition formed by excessive bacterial respiration in column resulted in increasing effluent manganese concentration.

  • 현재 한국의 자동차 공업은 80년대 초반부터 급격한 발전으로 세계의 다른 자동차 생산국으로부 터 경계의 대상이 되고 있다. 그러나 그 내면을 살펴보면 아직도 중요한 기술은 거의 대부분 일 본이나 독일, 미국 등 자동차 선진국의 기술에 의존하고 있으며 특히 엔진 분야는 대부분 외국 기술에 의존하고 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 엔진은 자동차 생산원가의 약 30%를 차지하며 자동차의 성능을 좌우하는 경우 기술료 지급은 물론이며 부품구매 선택의 여지가 없어진다. 또한 요즈음과 같이 상품의 수명주기가 짧게 되어 가는 추세 하에서는 시장의 요구에 대처해나가는 엔지니어링 적응력이 부족하게 되면 결국 경쟁성을 상실하게 된다. 그러나 이러한 문제점을 인 식하면서도 80년대 초까지 독자적인 엔진개발을 하지 못했던 원인은 크게 2가지로 분석할 수 있다. 첫째는 한국의 자동차 회사들의 기술 축적의 미약과 둘째는 독자개발의 낮은 투자효율성 이다. 즉 엔진과 변속기를 기술 도입할 때 기술료 지급은 자동차 생산댓수당 5-6만원에 달하지만 엔진과 변속기를 독자개발시의 투자비는 약 300-500억원에 달하므로 간단한 산술적 계산으로는 모델당 100만대를 생산하여야만 투자의 가치가 있는 것으로 보여진다. 물론 위에서 언급한 바와 같은 여러 가지 요인에 의하면 이 숫자보다 훨씬 적은 생산량으로도 경쟁성이 확보될 것으로 예상된다. 이제 한국의 자동차 생산량도 연간 백만 대를 상회하는 수준이며 앞으로도 급격한 양과 질적인 팽창이 기대되고 있는 시점에 자동차 메이커들은 각사 모두 독자적인 고유 엔진 개발을 착수하였으며 일부 회사는 이미 성공을 거두어 양산 준비를 하고 있는 것으로 알고 있다. 그러나 아직도 엔진의 설계부터 양산까지 걸리는 기간이 타 선진 메이커에 비하면 상당히 길며 이로 인해 신제품의 경쟁력 저하가 우려되고 있는 상태이다. 이러한 문제점 해결에 도움을 주기 위해서 학계는 기업체의 기술 개발방향과 전략을 이해하는 것이 필요하다.grightarrow$cn-semistratifiable over$\longrightarrow$semistratifiable over $\alpha$ 2, 어떤 공간이 cn-Semistratifiable over $\alpha$이기 위한 필요충분 조건은 그것이 linearly cushioned cn-pairnet를 갖는 것이다. 3. cn-semistratifiable over $\alpha$의 부분공간 역시 cn-semistratifiabie over $\alpha$ 하다. 4. on-semistratifiable over $\alpha$의 유한개의 적공간 역시 cn-semistratifiabie over $\alpha$한다. 5. 폐 cn-semistratifiable over $\alpha$ 부분공간들의 합공간 역시 on-semistrbtifiable over $\alpha$ 하다. 6. 폐연속 net-cevering 함수에 의하여 cn-semistratifiable over $\alpha$ 성질이 보존된다. 보잘것이 없었고, 현재에도 각 시도별 또는 대학주관의 경시대회가 있으나 거국적인 호응을 받지 못했다. 물론 국제 대회에 참석시키는 것은 엄두도 내지 않았다.로 나타났다. 4. 코코넛과 소나무수피의 경우 암모니아 가스에 대한 흡착 능력은 거의 비슷한 것으로 사료되며, 코코넛의 경우 전량을 수입에 의존하고 있다는 점에서 국내 조달이 용이하며, 구입 비용도 적게 소요되는 소나무수피를 사용하는 것이 경제적이라고 사료된다. 5. 마지막으로 악취제거 미생물균주를 접종한 소나무수피 50%와 펄라이트 30%의 혼합재료를 24시간 동안 장기간 운전 실험을 수행한 결과 암모니아 99.06%, 황화수소 96.61%의 제거

A Study on the Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus by Addition of Coagulant in the Sulfur Denitrification Process Coupled to the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR과 황탈질 공정에서 응집제 주입에 따른 질소.인 제거에 관한 연구)

  • A method for simultaneous removal of nitrogen and phosphate from sewage by elemental sulfur denitrification with membrane bioreactor was proposed, and capacity $10\;m^3$/day of pilot plant was operated for 350 days. This study was investigated to have the effect of denitrification rate and T-P removal with the addition of Alum in Sulfur denitrification Reactor (SDR). The addition of Alum and alkalinity ($NaHCO_3$) in the effluent of MBR was tried to remove simultaneous phosphate and nitrogen in SDR. Characteristics of total nitrogen (T-N) and total phosphate (T-P) removal was compared without and with the addition of Alum as a coagulant. T-N removal without and with the addition of Alum was 92.1% and 87.8%, respectively. And denitrification efficiency was 93.8% and 87.1%, respectively. T-P removal rate was increased to 75.6% in SDR by addition of Alum (2.6~4 mg/L as Al), but T-P removal rate was about 26.7% without the addition of Alum. Therefore, denitrification rate was 6.7% of reduction but T-P removal rate was increased by addition of Alum.

A Fuel Cell Generation Modeling and Interconnected Signal Analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC (연료전지 발전시스템의 PSCAD/EMTDC 모델링 및 계통연계에 따른 전력신호 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The fuel cell generation convert fuel source, and gas directly to electricity in an electro-chemical process. Unlike traditional and conventional turbine engines, the process of fuel cell generation do not burn the fuel and run pistons or shafts, and it has not revolutionary machine, so have fewer efficiency losses, low emissions and no noisy moving parts. A high power density allows fuel cells to be relatively compact source of electric power, beneficial in application with space constraints. In this system, the fuel cell itself is nearly small-sized by other components of the system such as the fuel reformer and power inverter. So, the fuel cell energy's stationary fuel cells produce reliable electrical power for commercial and industrial companies as well as utilities. In this paper, a fuel cell system has been modeled using PSCAD/EMTDC to analyze its electric signals and characteristics. Also the power quality of the fuel cell system has been evaluated and the problems which can be occurred during its operation have been studied by modeling it more detailed. Particularly, we have placed great importance on its power quality and signal characteristics when it is connected with a power grid.

A Study on the Treatment of Wastewater from Ion Removal Process for Purifying Electrocoat Paint in the Bath by Use of Reverse Osmosis (역삼투압을 이용한 전착도료 정제공정폐수처리에 관한 연구)

  • To treat effectively EDIR (electrodeposition ion removal) wastewater in terms of CO$_{Mn}$ 1,500~2,000 ppm generated from aluminum painting process, a RO (reverse osmosis) process was designed and installed to recover and reuse the concentrated solvent sent back to the electrocodeposition tank while the permeate reused as rinse water. A RO system in which three polyamide-spiral wound modules ($102\Phi \times 1,016L$ mm) connnected in series had been running to treat 20 m$^3$ in waste volume in 3 days batch operation at the condition of system recovery of 30 %, applied pressure 11.5 $kg_f/cm^2$ and room temperature. During 42 hours continuous operation leading to 5-fold decrease in waste volume, nearly constant permeation flux of 390 l/m$^2$-hr was maintained and the permeate with average CO$_{Mn}$, 300 ppm was obtained which could be used for washing the remaining paint solution in ion-exchange tower instead of demineralized water. Also COD$_{Mn}$ rejection as a function of running time was observed to be in the range of 78~87 % and the observed solvent rejections for ethyl cellusolve, buthyl cellusolve and n-butanol were 79 %, 87 % and 70 %, respectively.

임진강대 석류석의 성장과 다변형작용의 시간적-공간적 관계

  • 임진강대의 변성이질암은 전형적인 바로비안형 변성분대를 보이며, 남쪽으로 갈수록 변성도가 증가하여 석류석$\longrightarrow$십자석$\longrightarrow$남정석 대를 정의한다. 우리는 반상변정의 성장과 여러번에 걸친 광역변형작용의 연관성을 밝히기 위해 광물의 반응관계와 성장순서 그리고 미구조(microstructure)를 -특히 석류석에 대해서- 연구하였다. 임진강대는 크게 세 번에 걸쳐 변형작용을 받은 것으로 해석된다: (1) 지각 두께의 증가에 수반된 압축변형작용 (D$_{n-1}$), (2) 주 엽리(Sn)를 만든 변형작용(Dn), 그리고 (3) 연성전단작용에 수반된 신장변형작용(D$_{n+1}$ ). 석류석대의 석류석 반상변정에서는 약간 휘어진 포유물 궤적(inclusion trail)이 주 엽리면에 대해 연속적이며, 이는 Dn과 동시기에 반상변정이 생성되었음을 지시한다. 이러한 석류석은 녹니석과 백운모로 구성된 주 엽리를 치환하면서 자라기 때문에, 녹니석+백운모+석영=석류석+흑운모+$H_2O$의 반응에 의해 만들어진 것으로 해석된다. 석류석 자형변정(idioblast)이 주 엽리를 자르면서 성장하기도 하는데, 이는 Dn 이후에도 석류석이 후구조(post-tectonic) 광물로 성장했음을 지시한다. 또한, 이러한 석류석은 흑운모를 치환하기 때문에, 동구조(syn-tectonic) 석류석의 생성반응에서와는 달리 흑운모가 반응물임을 알 수 있다. 한편, 십자석대의 석류석은 포유물 궤적에 의해 정의되는 S$_{n-1}$면이 주 엽리면과 사각을 이루며 단속적이기 때문에, D$_{n-1}$과 Dn 사이에 자란 것으로 해석된다. 이와는 대조적으로 십자석은 주 엽리를 치환하면서 자라고 있어서 Dn과 동시기 혹은 Dn 이후에 자랐을 것으로 해석된다..의 환경문제를 발생하지 않으며, 공정액에 첨가제를 투입하지 않으므로 순환형 친환경공정으로 각광받을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 고온, 고농도의 NaOH 수용액의 처리에 적합한 막소재와 발생될 수 있는 제반 문제점 등을 파악하였고, 장기간의 실험을 거쳐 최적 투과 압력(Trans membrane pressue), 세정 조건 및 주기, 막재질에 있어서 보강하여야 할 Point, 최적 운전 조건들을 토출해 내었고, 향후 실제 Plant에 적용할 계획이다.는 양적으로 다른 두 가지의 유사한 마그마가 수반된 것으로 추정된다. 것으로 추정된다.를 사용하지 않음으로써 효과적이고 만족할 만한 심근보호 효과를 보였다.를 보였다.4주까지에서는 비교적 폐포는 정상적 구조를 유지하면서 부분적으로 소폐동맥 중막의 비후와 간질에 호산구 침윤의 소견이 특징적으로 관찰되었다. 결론: 분리 폐 관류는 정맥주입 방법에 비해 고농도의 cisplatin 투여로 인한 다른 장기에서의 농도 증가 없이 폐 조직에 약 50배 정도의 고농도 cisplatin을 투여할 수 있었으며, 또한 분리 폐 관류 시 cisplatin에 의한 직접적 폐 독성은 발견되지 않았다이 낮았으나 통계학적 의의는 없었다[10.0%(4/40) : 8.2%(20/244), p>0.05]. 결론: 비디오흉강경술에서 재발을 낮추기 위해 수술시 폐야 전체를 관찰하여 존재하는 폐기포를 놓치지 않는 것이 중요하며, 폐기포를 확인하지 못한 경우와 이차성 자연기흉에 대해서는 흉막유착술에 더 세심한 주의가 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다. 비디오흉강경수술은 통증이 적고, 입원기간이 짧고, 사회로의 복귀가 빠르며, 고위험군에 적용할 수 있고, 무엇보다도 미용상의 이점이 크다는 면에서 자연기흉에 대해 유용한 치료방법임에는 틀림이 없으나 개흉술에 비해 재발율이 높고 비용이 비싸다는 문제가 제기되고 있는 만큼 더 세심한 주의와 장기 추적관찰이 필요하리라 사료된다.전 도부타민 심초음파는 관상동맥우회로술 후

Development of Vehicle Arrival Time Prediction Algorithm Based on a Demand Volume (교통수요 기반의 도착예정시간 산출 알고리즘 개발)

  • The information on travel time in providing the information of traffic to drivers is one of the most important data to control a traffic congestion efficiently. Especially, this information is the major element of route choice of drivers, and based on the premise that it has the high degree of confidence in real situation. This study developed a vehicle arrival time prediction algorithm called as "VAT-DV" for 6 corridors in total 6.1Km of "Nam-san area trffic information system" in order to give an information of congestion to drivers using VMS, ARS, and WEB. The spatial scope of this study is 2.5km~3km sections of each corridor, but there are various situations of traffic flow in a short period because they have signalized intersections in a departure point and an arrival point of each corridor, so they have almost characteristics of interrupted and uninterrupted traffic flow. The algorithm uses the information on a demand volume and a queue length. The demand volume is estimated from density of each points based on the Greenburg model, and the queue length is from the density and speed of each point. In order to settle the variation of the unit time, the result of this algorithm is strategically regulated by importing the AVI(Automatic Vehicle Identification), one of the number plate matching methods. In this study, the AVI travel time information is composed by Hybrid Model in order to use it as the basic parameter to make one travel time in a day using ILD to classify the characteristics of the traffic flow along the queue length. According to the result of this study, in congestion situation, this algorithm has about more than 84% degree of accuracy. Specially, the result of providing the information of "Nam-san area traffic information system" shows that 72.6% of drivers are available.

The Development of N2O Emission Factor at Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator (도시고형폐기물 소각시설의 N2O 배출계수 개발)

  • In this study, nitrous oxide ($N_2O$) emission concentration was measured 3 times continuously for 24 hours from August 27, 2018 to October 22, 2018 and non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) spectrometer was used to calculate $N_2O$ concentration of exhaust gas from municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerator. As a result of $N_2O$ emission characteristics, it is estimated that $N_2O$ emission concentration is due to the difference of furnace temperature, oxygen concentration rather than the chemical component of waste. The measured $N_2O$ emission concentration of MSW incinerator was obtained in the range of 53.6 ~ 59.5 ppm and the total average concentration was measured 55.6 ppm. Therefore, the amount of $N_2O$ emissions calculated from the $N_2O$ concentration was $98.05kg\;day^{-1}$ on average and the amount of $N_2O$ distribution in the range of $90.41{\sim}108.44kg\;day^{-1}$ was obtained. As a result, the $N_2O$ emission factor of the MSW incinerator was estimated to be $1,066.13g_{N_2O}\;ton_{waste^{-1}}$. The estimated $N_2O$ emission factor of the MSW incinerator was 20 times higher than calculated emission factor used in the Tier 2 method. Consequently, it is considered that the method of calculating the amount of $N_2O$ emission in the MSW incineration facilities using waste type and incineration amount needs to be supplemented to ensure accuracy.

Effects of Cu and K Addition on Catalytic Activity for Fe-based Fischer-Tropsch Reaction (Fe계 Fischer-Tropsch 반응에서 촉매활성에 대한 Cu와 K의 첨가 효과)

  • Effects of the Cu and K addition and the reduction condition of Fe-based catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch reaction are studied in a continuous flow reactor in this research. The catalysts for the reaction were prepared by homogeneous precipitation followed by incipient wetness impregnation. Physicochemical properties of the $Al_2O_3$ supported Fe-based catalysts are characterized by various methods including X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperature programmed reduction (TPR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Catalytic activities and stabilities of the Fe/Cu/K catalyst are investigated in time-on-stream for an extended reaction time over 216 h. It is found that a reduction of the catalysts using a mixture of CO and $H_2$ can promote their catalytic activities, attributed to the iron carbides formed on the catalysts surface by X-ray diffraction analysis. The addition of Cu induces a fast stabilization of the reaction reducing the time to reach at the steady state by enhancement of catalytic reduction. The addition of K to the catalysts increases the CO conversion, while the physical stability of catalyst decreases with potassium loading up to 5%. The Fe/Cu (5%)/K (1%) catalyst shows an enhanced long term stability for the Fischer-Tropsch reaction under the practical reaction condition, displaying about 15% decrease in the CO conversion after 120 h of the operation.

A Study on Microorganism Dominant Species in Bench-scale Shipboard STP Using Combined SBR and MBR Process (SBR 및 MBR 복합공정을 적용한 Bench-scale Shipboard STP에서의 미생물 우점종에 관한 연구)

  • International Maritime Organization (IMO) is one of the most effective organizations in evolving international law for the protection and conservation of the marine environment. The IMO, MARPOL(Marine Pollution) 73/78 contains six Annexes that provide an overarching framework for the objectives of the international marine pollution. Annex IV was regulated by 64 th resolution in 2012 to control sea pollution from sewage. In 2014 large-scale wastewater treatment and nutrient removal device was developed with a grant from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. A combined new process of Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR) and Membrane Bioreactor(MBR) was developed to overcome the pollution caused by shipboard sewage. In the present study, shipboard sewage wastewater was treated by mixing and aeration cycle in the newly developed SBR process. Furthermore, during analysis by NGS technique(Macrogen Co., Ltd.), dominant species of bacteria were found in the aeration tank of the Bench-scale wastewater treatment facility. Bacteroidetes and Gammaproteobacteria accounted for 27.1 % of the aerobicbacteria and 16.8 % of the anaerobicbacteria, respectively. Microorganisms play a vital role in shipboard wastewater treatment. A further detailed study is required to understand the precise role of the microorganisms in the wastewater treatment.
