다기공 연삭숫돌의 단속비에 의한 표면특성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Surface Characteristics According to intermittent Ratio of Discontinuous Grinding Wheel with Multi-Porous Grooves)

  • Crinding of stainless steel, aluminium alloy, copper alloy, and titanium alloy are difficult to obtain high quality finish, because they have the mechanical properties such as low hardness, high toughness. The low hardness and the high toughness result in the loading of wheel and the poor surface finish. In order to perform the grinding operations for these sorts of materials easily, the discontinuous grinding wheel wiht multi-porous grooves has been newly developed. The multi-porous grooves inthe discontinuous grinding wheel were formed during grinding wheel manufacturing process. In this paper, discontinuous grinding wheels having intermittent ratio 0.66, 0.81 and number of grooves 18,32 have been manufactured and grinding surface characteristics of these grinding wheels for SUS304 have been analyzed. Discontinuous grinding temperature according to intermittent ratiohas been also estimated by simulation. The discontinuous grinding wheels increase the grinding performance considerably. It is desirable to use the discontinuous grinding wheel in grinding the materials with high efficiency and accuracy.

  • 최근에 상품의 국제경쟁력 강화를 위해서 생산공정 시간의 단축과전문 기능인력의 부족에 대응하는 중소로 트의 다품종 생산 합리화가 기계 제조업 전체에 확산되어 가고 있다. 본 연구에서는 연삭기용 유정압 주 축의 일반적인 형태인 전부, 후부 유정압 베어링의 장착구조 대신에 기존의 정, 동특성을 유지하면서 저가의 전부 유정압베어링과 후부 Angular Contact Ball Bearing의 복합배열 구조를 제시하고 이때의 정적, 동적 성능을 이론적으로 비교, 평가하였다.

  • In this study an experimental investigation was conducted to find the grinding characteristics of ceramics, as compared to STDll and SUS304 materials. The grinding force and the microscopic observation of the workpieces were obtained in surface grinding. It has been found that the grinding force of ceramics is relatively low as compared to that of steels and that CBN wheel has an excellent performance.

  • In discontinuous wheel grinding, temperature is different form conventional grinding. The characteristics of discontinuous grinding with respect to various slotted wheel were compared with those of general grinding. Thermal conditions vary with intermittent ratio, direction of fluid supply for discontinous wheel. According to three direction of grinding fluid supply and intermittent ratio,temperature and surface roughness were analyzed.

  • Sapphire have been ground by the ultra-precision surface grinder having a glass -ceramic spindle of extremely-low thermal expansion with various cup-type resinoid-bonded diamond wheels of #400-#3000 in grain size. Sapphire can be ground in the ductile mode. And also, the surface roughness and grinding conditions has been clarified. The smooth surface of Sapphire less than 1nm RMS, 1nm Ra can be obtained by the ultra-precision grinding without any polishing Process.

  • Grinding machine rotating at high speed express the unbalance by the spindle and the weight of grinding wheel. Therefore, the parts requiring a precision processing for grinding machine need acutely to establish of automatic balancer. But the more wheel speed increases the more vibration amplitude increases, surface roughness show the satisfactory according to increase of the wheel speed. Surface roughness of the occasion installing the automatic balancer made better than an occasion no installing the automatic balancer.

  • An experimental study on the grinding temperature and Acoustic Emission(AE) signals due to the different shapes of wheel was conducted. The grinding characteristics by slotted shapes of wheel changed by width and helical angle, were compared with those by general one. Lower grinding temperature was obtained for 30$^{\circ}$ helical angle with 10mm width, Root Mean Square(RMS) values of AE signals were higher for slotted wheel rather than general one.

  • In order to meet the industrial requirement, precision grinding with brush tool has been applied. To analyze the brush tool characteristics, several parameters including numbers of brush string installed in a single holder, depth of cut and brush length have been changed. Several data from various source were acquired using AE, acceleration and tool dynamometer during the process. Consistent results revealing certain trend with respect to each process condition were observed.

  • The surface roughness of workpiece is reduced during spark-out. The reduction of roughness is a benefit of spark-out, but spark-out lowers productivity. The characteristics of spark-out are different to those of plunge grinding to which feed is applied. This difference is due to overlapping cutting during spark-out. Effect of spark-out is in proportion to volume of grain wear. This phenomenon is due to different overlapping area. Dressing interval can be enlarged by spark-out, when volume of grain wear is large. In this study, the characteristic of spark-out was studied by spark-out obserbation in various grinding conditions. For this purpose thrust force, spark-out time and surface roughness of workpiece were experimentally investigated in various grinding conditions.
