  • 에너지 절약 최적화를 위한 녹색 기술개발은 지속가능경제와 화석연료 사용에 의한 부작용을 최소화하기 위한 전세계적 화두로 대두되고 있다. 중소기업은 다양한 품목에서 자체적인 생산활동을 수행하며 대기업 제품에 사용되는 부품을 실질적으로 공급하고 전체 근로자의 85%이상을 고용하는 등 국가적인 부가가치 창출에 큰 역할을 수행하고 있으나, 인적자원과 관리 인프라의 부족과 부재로 인해 체계적인 에너지 관리를 통한 에너지 사용 절감을 위한 최적화 활동 수행에 한계점을 가지고 있다. 그러나, 향후 직접적인 에너지 절감을 통한 원가 경쟁력 향상은 물론 향후 탄소 거래제와 생산 공정과 결과물에 대한 정량적인 탄소배출량 관리제도의 법제화에 대비하여 이러한 제한상황에 대한 해결안 제시가 절실하게 요구되고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 서해안 산업단지를 대상으로 한국산업기술대학교 전력저감센터에서 개발중인 중소기업을 위한 energy saving management system (ESMS)에 대해 기술한다. ESMS는 개별 공장에서 소비되는 전체전력과 대표 부하에서의 소비전력의 전력품질과 현황을 모니터링하고 부하특성에 맞는 전력저감 메커니즘을 제공한다. 또한 자체적인 과거 소비전력 경향과 광역 공단의 전체 소비 데이터와의 비교 데이터를 통해 자체적인 전력 소비 현황 및 절감대책을 수립하도록 지원한다.

A Study on the Quality Analysis of Biodiesel for Ship's Fuel Utilization (바이오디젤의 선박 연료 활용을 위한 품질 분석)

  • Biodiesel is known as an environmentally friendly neutral fuel, and a policy of obligatory mixing of a certain ratio is implemented on land. In this study, to verify the feasibility of using biodiesel as a ship fuel, component analysis, metal corrosion test, and storage stability test were performed on the mixing ratios of 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, and 20 % of marine diesel and biodiesel. Component analysis evaluated a total of eight factors including density, kinematic viscosity and flash point according to ISO 8217:2017 standards and the reliability of biodiesel through metal corrosion tests and storage stability tests under atmosphere temperature and harsh conditions (60 ℃) for 180 days. Results demonstrate that component analysis satisfied the ISO 8217:2017 standard in all biodiesel mixing ratios. Furthermore, as the biodiesel mixing ratio increased, the kinematic viscosity, density, and acid value increased and the sulfur content decreased. Metal corrosion rarely occurred in the case of carbon steel, iron, aluminum, and nickel, whereas in the case of copper, corrosion occurred under the influence of oxygen-rich biodiesel under the harsh conditions (60 ℃) of 20 % biodiesel mixture. As for storage stability, discoloration, sludge formation, and fuel separation were not visually confirmed.

  • The automatic inspection system is developed for the formed end part of automotive fuel pipe. The developed system has functions of outer diameter and formed end length measurement by LVDT(linear variable differential transformer) together with burr cleaning of automotive fuel pipe. The measured data are managed and controlled in real time by embedded SPC(statistical process control) program. The system is composed of mechanical part, electronic part and developed software system. These three parts operate automatically by mutual communication with each other. The developed system showed good results in finding inferior goods and efficiency improvement of the fuel pipe production line. It also eliminated the unreliable manual inspection processes and improved the confidence of product quality.

Determination of fuel marker in petroleum products using GC-MS (GC-MS를 이용한 석유제품 중의 식별제 분석)

  • There are several types of petroleum products used for the fuel oil, according to their respective quality standards, grades and usage. Depending on the degree of oil tax rate by country, even the same petroleum products will have price gap. The illegal mixing of cheap petroleum products, which are subject to the lower tax rate, with relatively expensive transportation fuel causes problems such as tax evasion, environmental pollution and vehicle breakdown. In order to prevent illicit production and mixing of these different petroleum products, a small amount of markers are legally added to specific petroleum products. In Korea, markers are introduced and used to prevent illegal activity that kerosene used as fuel for house and commercial boiler are mixed with automotive diesel fuels, and marker contents are analyzed to use UV-Vis spectrophotometer and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). In this study, we have developed a method to qualitatively and quantitatively determine the marker added to petroleum products by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) without adding developing reagent or sample pre-treatments.

Quality Monitoring for Domestic Distributing Engine Oil (국내 유통 엔진오일 품질 모니터링)

  • The vehicle lubricant has captured 35% of the total lubricant market while the engine oil possessed 77% of the vehicle lubricant market in Korea. The suitable quality management of circulating engine oil is thus required for the driver and engine protection. But, KS and synthetic engine oil products (containing over 30% synthetic oil) are exempt to any quality inspections under Petroleum and Alternative Fuel Business Act. In this study, our research group investigated the quality monitoring of 30 kinds of domestic distributing synthetic engine oils. Two kinds of the engine oil showed an off specification from the test results; one engine oil is an imported and the other is a KS synthetic one. Also, the pattern of engine oils were analyzed using SIMDIST (simulated distillation) and the most engine oils had a broad carbon number spectrum, which is a typical of mineral oils except several imported products. Thus, we concluded that relevant laws for the proper quality management of synthetic oils and KS products are needed to be established for preventing consumer's damages.

The Status of Production and Usage of Bio-Jet Fuel (바이오항공유 생산 및 사용현황)

  • The usage of jet fuel has been increasing with increasing passenger and logistics movements under globalization. CO2, which is the main global warming gas from aircraft, was charged about 3.5% of total global CO2 emissions and 12% of transportation fuel emissions. For these reasons, a lot of governments and the international civil aviation organization (ICAO) are trying to reduce CO2 emissions via the introduction of bio-jet fuel. In this paper, we showed the jet fuel properties, specifications, and presentative production methods of bio-jet fuel such as alcohol to jet (ATJ), oil to jet (OTJ), gas to jet (GTJ) and sugar to jet (STJ). Also, we described the status of global and domestic bio-jet fuel usage and the policy plan for efficient distribution.

Study on Characteristics of Change of Physical/Chemical property of Refined Fuel Oil(Reduced-pressure) by Mixing with By-product Fuel Oil(No. 2) (부생연료유(2호) 혼합에 따른 정제연료유(감압)의 물성 변화 특성 연구)

  • In addition to responding to the environmental pollution caused by fossil fuels, the enforcement of Renewable Fuel Standard(RFS) system has increased the utilization of renewable energy such as refined fuels oil. The by-product fuel oil(No. 2) and the refined fuel oil(reduced-pressure) are strictly regulated by the domestic legislation and the chemical property changes of the refined fuel oil(reduced-pressure) mixed with the by-product fuel oil(No. 2) were analyzed. As a result of analyzing the physical properties of refined fuel oil(reduced pressure) obtained by mixing 1 : 1 of by-product fuel oil(No. 2), it satisfied the quality standards stipulated by the domestic Enforcement Decree of the Wastes Control Act. However, the results of the additional tests related to the fuel showed a high aromatic content. The high content of aromatic in a fuel is likely to cause the soot and ehaust emission gas during the combustion of the used equipment.

  • 앞으로 글로벌 시장에 진입할 수 있는 작물보호 신물질 개발을 위해서는 기술 난이도가 크면서 파급성 및 경제성을 갖는 친환경 신규작용점 탐색과 독창적 Scaffold를 갖는 후보물질 또는 천연물소재 발굴에 주력해야 하며, 이를 지원하는 HTS, 화합물은행 및 천연물은행 활용 분자설계 및 최적화 합성기술 등 후보물질 발굴 핵심 기술개발에 국가적인 지원이 지속적이고 장기간에 걸쳐 이루어져야 한다. 고품질의 식량생산 관리기술은 물론 석유대체 에너지 확보를 위한 농작물 바이오매스(작물, 사료, 바이오연료 등) 생산관리기술로서, 그린바이오기반(Target 효소, 천연물소 재탐색응용) 저탄소 녹색성장을 실현시키기 위한 친환경적인 생화학 작물보호제 개발이 필요하다. 또한 인구 증가와 유가상승 등 전 세계적인 경제위기 극복과 이산화탄소 증가에 따른 온난화 등 지구환경보존의 중요성이 크게 증가되면서 안전한 먹거리 생산과 환경오염을 최소화하는 지속적 생산체제를 갖추기 위하여 LOHAS (Lifestyle Of Health And Sustainability) 트랜드가 최근 농업의 화두로 떠오르고 있다. 이를 만족시키기 위하여 OECD를 중심으로 하는 선진 국가들은 기존 작물보호제의 사용을 5년 이내에 현재 사용량의 절반 이하로 감소시키고자 하고 있는데, 특히 지속적 재배와 국민건강 보호를 위한 LOHAS 농작물의 생산이 매년 50-100억불로 성장하고 있다. 이러한 추세는 2017년까지 그 성장세가 계속 지속될 것으로 예상되고 있어 미생물/생화학 중심의 바이오작물보호제의 개발은 LOHAS 트랜드를 충족시킬 수 있는 유력한 수단으로 인식되고 있다.

A study on the change effect of emission regulation mode on vehicle emission gas (배기가스 규제 모드 변화가 차량 배기가스에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been studied on the exhaust and greenhouse gas emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research has brought forward two main issues : exhaust emissions (regulated and non-regulated emissions, PM particle matter) and greenhouse gases of vehicle. Exhaust emissions and greenhouse gases of automotive had many problem such as the cause of ambient pollution, health effects. In order to reduce these emissions, many countries are regulating new exhaust gas test modes. Worldwide harmonized light-duty vehicle test procedure (WLTP) for emission certification has been developed in WP.29 forum in UNECE since 2007. This test procedure was applied to domestic light duty diesel vehicles at the same time as Europe. The air pollutant emissions from light-duty vehicles are regulated by the weight per distance, which the driving cycles can affect the results. Exhaust emissions of vehicle varies substantially based on climate conditions, and driving habits. Extreme outside temperatures tend to increasing the emissions, because more fuel must be used to heat or cool the cabin. Also, high driving speeds increases the emissions because of the energy required to overcome increased drag. Compared with gradual vehicle acceleration, rapid vehicle acceleration increases the emissions. Additional devices (air-conditioner and heater) and road inclines also increases the emissions. In this study, three light-duty vehicles were tested with WLTP, NEDC, and FTP-75, which are used to regulate the emissions of light-duty vehicles, and how much emissions can be affected by different driving cycles. The emissions gas have not shown statistically meaningful difference. The maximum emission gas have been found in low speed phase of WLTP which is mainly caused by cooled engine conditions. The amount of emission gas in cooled engine condition is much different as test vehicles. It means different technical solution requires in this aspect to cope with WLTP driving cycle.
