Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the application of microbial fuel cells (MFCs) to the wastewater treatment systems employed in the Living Building Challenge. Methods: I reviewed a range of information on decentralized wastewater treatment technologies such as composting toilets, constructed wetlands, recirculating biofilters, membrane bioreactors, and MFCs. Results: The Living Building Challenge is a set of standards to make buildings more eco-friendly using renewable resources and self-treating water systems. Although there are various decentralized wastewater treatment technologies available, MFCs have been considered an attractive future option for a decentralized system as used in the Living Building Challenge. MFCs can directly convert substrate energy to electricity with high conversion efficiency at ambient and even at low temperatures. MFCs do not require energy input for aeration if using open-air cathodes. Moreover, MFCs have the potential for widespread application in locations lacking water and electrical infrastructure Conclusions: This paper demonstrated the feasibility of MFCs as a novel decentralized wastewater treatment system employed in the Living Building Challenge.

A test stand was developed to measure static performance of a reciprocating engine on the ground, related to the small aircraft being developed by KARI. The test stand consists of an apparatus to install and operate a pusher-type propulsion system and a data acquisition system to process many performance parameters including engine torque and propeller thrust as well as monitoring of the engine operations. First, the performance data from the basic operation tests were compared with the original engine data so the capacity of the test stand was verified. Engine performance tests were carried out with various test conditions through three stages, and it was measured and analyzed that the manifold pressure, the torque, and the back pressure of the engine, and the static thrust of the propeller.
This survey was conducted to know the post-harvest bulk treatment system for barley, The tendency of barley-bulk treatment in 4 RPC was gradually increased up to 4,458 ton in 2001, but after that time, the amounts was decreased 1,0731on in 2003. There was the big difference on the circulated and the continued systems that was the kinds of drying system they use. The barleys, the harvest and the conveyance method was different on RPCs. Naked barley was only treated, and $90\%$ barley was harvested by the consignment in J RPC, otherwise unhulled barley was treated, and there did not used the consignment in S RPC. Small and mulit combine was used to harvest, and the ratio of bulk was up to $90\%$ in J RPC, but small combine was only used and ratio of bulk was at most $5\%$ in S RPC. It was sell by 1kg in polished and 40kg unpolished barley around year in J RPC, but it was sell by bulk to september in S RPC.

Recently, the resource depletion and climate change problem caused by the massive usage of fossil fuels for electric power generation has become a critical issue worldwide. According to this issue, interest in renewable energy resources that can replace fossil fuels is increasing. Especially, photovoltaic power has gaining much attention because there is no risk of resource exhaustion compared to other energy resources and there are low restrictions on installation of photovoltaic system. In order to use the power generated by the photovoltaic system efficiently, a more accurate photovoltaic power forecasting model is required. So far, even though many machine learning and deep learning-based photovoltaic power forecasting models have been proposed, they showed limited success in terms of interpretability. Deep learning-based forecasting models have the disadvantage of being difficult to explain how the forecasting results are derived. To solve this problem, many studies are being conducted on explainable artificial intelligence technique. The reliability of the model can be secured if it is possible to interpret how the model derives the results. Also, the model can be improved to increase the forecasting accuracy based on the analysis results. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an explainable photovoltaic power forecasting scheme based on BiLSTM (Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory) and SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations).
The purpose of this study was tried to evaluate the filling sodium states inside the fuel rod of sodium-cooled fast reactor by digital medical X-ray. We used the diagnostic X-ray generators in digital radiography (DR). This study have found the optimal conditions by changing the effective focal spot size of X-ray tube and post-processing of the DR method with a tungsten edge plate in order to ensure excellent sharpness At this time, the sharpness and resolution were evaluated using the MTF (modulation transfer function). As a result, this study obtained a spatial resolution of 3.871 lp/mm (0.1 MTF), 3.290 lp/mm (0.5 MTF) when implemented the contrast strengthen post-processing in small focal spot. In this research, the result is able to evaluate the level of sodium inside the fuel rod by using the diagnostic X-ray generators in medical digital radiographic images.

This study was investigated to determine the combustion characteristics, decomposition efficiency, and the flue gas concentrations after combustion in the high temperature reactor($1,250{\sim}1,400^{\circ}C$, 1 atm) for the liquid wastes(waste oil and waste solvent) generated from the industrial complex. The concentration of nitrogen oxide(NOx) is decreased and the synthetic gas is increased when the mass ratio of $O_2$/waste is about 1.53 because the reaction condition was changed to reduction state. And BTEXs(benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene) are decomposed more than 99.99%. If the highly concentrated liquid waste (waste oil and waste solvent) is treated under the operating conditions suggested by this study, our treatment method for the liquid waste was found to be proper because of the contaminants emission concentration is very low. In addition, the synthetic gas after combustion can be used as an alternative fuel.

The interest on the recovery of thermal energy using the waste has been rising to solve the problems of continuous increase of waste generation and the depletion of the fossil fuel recently. The incineration has been used most popularly as a treatment process of the waste for the energy recovery. However, it is expected that incineration and design cost will increase in the treatment of air contaminant emitted from incinerator. This research has simulated the actual incinerator and the flue gas treatment system using the Aspen plus which is the software to simulate the chemical process. The incineration process is composed of the 1st and 2nd combustor to burn the waste, SNCR process to reduce the $NO_x$ using the urea, and the steam generation process to save the energy during incineration. The $Ca(OH)_2$ slurry was used as an acid gas (HCl, $SO_2$) treatment materials and the removal efficiency for the products from the neutralization of acid gas in SDA and combustion ash was simulated at the bag filter. The simulation result has been corresponded with the treatment efficiency of emitted gas from the actual industrial waste incinerator and it is presumed to be used to forecast the efficiencies of flue gas treatment system in the future.

The quantity of research on microbial fuel cells has been rapidly increasing. Microbial fuel cells are unique in their ability to utilize microorganisms and to generate electricity from sewage, pig excrement, and other wastewaters which include organic matter. This system can directly produce electrical energy without an inefficient energy conversion step. However, with MFCs maximum power production is limited by several factors such as activation losses, ohmic losses, and mass transfer losses in cathodes. Therefore, electron acceptors such as nitrate and ferric ion in the cathodes were utilized to improve the cathode reaction rate because the cathode reaction is very important for electricity production. When 100 mM nitrate as an electron acceptor was fed into cathodes, the current in single-cathode and dual-cathode MFCs was noted as $3.24{\pm}0.06$ mA and $4.41{\pm}0.08$ mA, respectively. These values were similar to when air-saturated water was fed into the cathodes. One hundred mM nitrate as an electron acceptor in the cathode compartments did not affect an increase in current generation. However, when ferric ion was used as an electron acceptor the current increased by $6.90{\pm}0.36$ mA and $6.67{\pm}0.33$ mA, in the single-cathode and dual-cathode microbial fuel cells, respectively. These values, in single-cathode and dual-cathode microbial fuel cells, represent an increase of 67.1% and 17.6%, respectively. Furthermore, when supplied with ferric ion without air, the current was higher than that of only air-saturated water. In this study, we attempted to reveal an inexpensive and readily available electron acceptor which can replace platinum in cathodes to improve current generation by increasing the cathode reaction rate.

Volatile organic compounds(VOCs) are regarded as a harmful cause substance not only causing air pollutions but also causing global warming phenomenon. For this reason, VOCs are managed politically to reduce emissions by each country. In particular, the vapor from the gas station contains VOCs which is harmful to the human body such as carcinogens benzene and pollute the atmosphere, the Ministry of Environment defined every gas station must install vapor recovery equipment to recover volatile organic compounds. Recently, there are many accidents caused by existing vapor treatment methods, the liquefaction recovery technology is getting the spotlight to cool the vapor at the field. However, because the liquefaction recovery technology have risks of fire or explosion in accordance with temperature, the real time monitoring is critical factor. In this paper, we implement an Android-based monitoring application for liquified vapor recovery device which attached sensor module for temperature and power to monitoring real time information.
