지역기술시대 우리 손으로 열어야

  • 일본은 80년대 초부터 범국가적으로 자역기술 진흥에 힘을 기울려 전 국토가 첨단기술화하는 고도의 정보사회로 치닫고 있다. 세계적으로 어떤 지역이 기술로 개발되고 그 기술을 중심으로 한 산업지역으로 발전한 사례를 많이 볼 수 있다. 미국의 경우 반도체 공업이 일어난 실리콘밸리를 비롯해 일본의 쓰구바연구학원도시 등을 들 수 있다. 최근 우리나라도 과기처에서 '과학기술특별법'제정을 추진하고 있으며 과총에서도 과학기술봉사단을 발족시켜 앞으로의 활약이 기대된다.

  • 과학만국박람회${\ulcorner}$쓰꾸바'85${\lrcorner}$가 개막되었다. 3월 17일부터 9월 16일까지 6개월간 일본의 연구학원 도시 쓰꾸바시에서 화려하게 펼쳐진 이 전시회는 ${\ulcorner}$인간$\cdot$환경과 과학기술${\lrcorner}$을 주제로 한 세계 최초의 첨단과학축제로 세계각국의 관심이 집중되고 있다. 동경에서 동북쪽으로 60km떨어진 이바라기현 가스미가우라만 평야의 30만평에 건설된 전시장에는 일본의 대기업$\cdot$그룹 28개와 우리나라를 비롯한 47개국과 37개 각종 국제기관이 참여, 열띤 첨단과학기술 경연을 벌이고 있다. 쓰꾸바의 하늘에 태극기를 휘날리며 연일 초만원으로 인기를 독점하고 있는 한국관을 소개한다.

An Econometric Analysis of Mitigating Urban Heat Island Effect with Urban Forest (계량경제적 접근을 통한 도시림의 도시열섬 완화효과 분석)

  • This study was conducted to identify the relationship between urban heat island effect and forest, analyzing electricity consumption model and temperature change model. Electricity consumption model was adopted to clarify a role of forests in alleviating the heat island effect at the national scale, while temperature change model was adopted to clarify a role of forests in mitigating urban heat island effect on metropolis with using econometric analysis. The analysis results from both models clearly show a negative correlation between the urban forests within living areas and heat island effect. In particular, when urban forests within living area per person increases by $1m^2$, the average municipal electricity consumption decreases by 0.02MWh and the summer daytime temperature for metropolitan cities decreases by $1.15^{\circ}C$.

  • This study presents projections of future extreme climate over the Korean Peninsula (KP), using bias-corrected data from multiple regional climate model (RCM) simulations in CORDEX-EA Phase 2 project. In order to confirm difference according to degree of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, high GHG path of SSP5-8.5 and low GHG path of SSP1-2.6 scenario are used. Under SSP5-8.5 scenario, mean temperature and precipitation over KP are projected to increase by 6.38℃ and 20.56%, respectively, in 2081~2100 years compared to 1995~2014 years. Projected changes in extreme climate suggest that intensity indices of extreme temperatures would increase by 6.41℃ to 8.18℃ and precipitation by 24.75% to 33.74%, being bigger increase than their mean values. Both of frequency indices of the extreme climate and consecutive indices of extreme precipitation are also projected to increase. But the projected changes in extreme indices vary regionally. Under SSP1-2.6 scenario, the extreme climate indices would increase less than SSP5-8.5 scenario. In other words, temperature (precipitation) intensity indices would increase 2.63℃ to 3.12℃ (14.09% to 16.07%). And there is expected to be relationship between mean precipitation and warming, which mean precipitation would increase as warming with bigger relationship in northern KP (4.08% ℃-1) than southern KP (3.53% ℃-1) under SSP5-8.5 scenario. The projected relationship, however, is not significant for extreme precipitation. It seems because of complex characteristics of extreme precipitation from summer monsoon and typhoon over KP.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the experiences and subjective opinions of urban agriculture in order to explore ways to vitalize urban agriculture. More specifically, we divides environmental value into three categories of ecology, landscape, and participation, and defines a function of urban agriculture to improve environmental values related to the three categories mentioned above. The main results of the empirical analysis using the survey data are summarized as follows. First, the probability of gathering information about urban agriculture is higher in metropolitan cities than small cities, and the larger the residence size, the higher the probability of actual urban agriculture participation. Second, the positive response rate was high for the three categories of urban agriculture, while the negative response rate was high for the surrounding environment. The implications derived from the analysis are as follows. First, the opposite results of experiences of urban agriculture suggests that local governments should further promote urban agriculture-based investment policies. In addition, these policies need to be preceded by analysis of the characteristics of population groups in the region Also, it is necessary to improve the environment through urban agriculture.

A Study on the Characteristics of PM1.0 Chemical Components Using a Real-time Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (실시간 에어로졸 질량분석기를 이용한 PM1.0의 화학적성분의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics of oxidation and chemical composition of PM in winter season, 2017 at Incheon area. The mean concentration of air pollutants were $46{\pm}22{\mu}g/m^3-PM_{10}$, $29{\pm}18{\mu}g/m^3/-PM_{2.5}$, $5{\pm}3ppb-SO_2$, $0.56{\pm}0.24ppm-CO$, $21{\pm}13ppb-O_3$ and $28{\pm}17ppb-NO_2$, respectively. The dominant ion of the $PM_{1.0}$ chemical component were organic with $3.2{\mu}g/m^3$ and nitrate with $1.9{\mu}g/m^3$. The day and night variation of the $PM_{1.0}$ chemical components was higher in nighttime than those of daytime. The averaged nitrate oxidation rate (SOR) was 0.06 and sulfate oxidation rate was 0.11 during the field campaign. In the high mass loading period, nitrate oxidation rate (NOR) was up to 0.6 and also the nitrate in $PM_{1.0}$ was increased. The averaged ratio of $NO_x/SO_2$ was 8.7 and nitrate/sulfate was 3.1, respectively. In this results, the nitrate component in $PM_{1.0}$ was influenced by NOx from the stationary source as power plant and the mobile source around the measurement site.

북경, 상해, 홍콩 시장 한우고기 가격경쟁력 분석: 2015년, 2021년 시장조사 결과 비교

  • 현재 우리나라 한우고기 가격은 코로나 19상황, 아프리카 돼지열병 발생, 쇠고기 수급부족 등 내외부적인 환경적인 문제로 인하여 급상승하고 있다. 한우고기 수출은 2015년 홍콩을 시작으로 마카오, 캄보디아 등으로 수출 영토가 넓어졌지만 수출량은 2018년을 정점으로 감소하고 있는 추세이다. 이런 상황에서 우리나라 한우고기의 활성화를 위해 수출전략을 재검토해야할 시점이 온 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 2015년 우리나라 한우고기의 첫 수출 이후 7년이 흐르고 한우산업의 불확실성이 증가하고 있는 현 시점에서 북경, 상해, 홍콩 3개 도시를 대상으로 쇠고기 시장조사 실시를 통해 우리나라 한우고기의 가격경쟁력을 비교·분석 하였다. 그 결과, 한우고기 가격 급상승에도 불구하고 북경, 상해, 홍콩 3개 도시에서 가격경쟁력이 확보된 것으로 나타났다.

The Advanced Bias Correction Method based on Quantile Mapping for Long-Range Ensemble Climate Prediction for Improved Applicability in the Agriculture Field (농업적 활용성 제고를 위한 분위사상법 기반의 앙상블 장기기후예측자료 보정방법 개선연구)

  • The optimization of long-range ensemble climate prediction for rice phenology model with advanced bias correction method is conducted. The daily long-range forecast(6-month) of mean/ minimum/maximum temperature and observation of January to October during 1991-2021 is collected for rice phenology prediction. In this study, the concept of "buffer period" is newly introduced to reduce the problem after bias correction by quantile mapping with constructing the transfer function by month, which evokes the discontinuity at the borders of each month. The four experiments with different lengths of buffer periods(5, 10, 15, 20 days) are implemented, and the best combinations of buffer periods are selected per month and variable. As a result, it is found that root mean square error(RMSE) of temperatures decreases in the range of 4.51 to 15.37%. Furthermore, this improvement of climatic variables quality is linked to the performance of the rice phenology model, thereby reducing RMSE in every rice phenology step at more than 75~100% of Automated Synoptic Observing System stations. Our results indicate the possibility and added values of interdisciplinary study between atmospheric and agriculture sciences.
