Developing a Vehicle Classification Algorithm Based on the Trend Line to Vehicle Lengths and Wheelbases (차량길이와 축거의 추세선을 이용한 차종분류 알고리즘 개발)

  • In order to observe the impact of a type of vehicles for traffic flows and pavement, vehicle classifications is conducted. Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs provides 12-type vehicle classifications on National expressways, National highways, and Provincial roads. Current AVC (Automatic Vehicle Classification) devices decide vehicle types comparing measurements of vehicle lengths, wheelbases, overhangs etc. to a reference table including those of all types of models. This study developed an algorithm for macroscopic vehicle classification which is less sensitive to tuning sensors and updating the reference table. For those characteristics, trend lines in vehicle lengths and wheelbases are employed. To assess the algorithm developed, vehicle lengths and wheelbases were collected from an AVC device. In this experiment, this algorithm showed the accuracy of 88.2 % compared to true values obtained from video replaying. Our efforts in this study are expected to contribute to developing devices for macroscopic vehicle classification.

  • Due to the development of advanced technology, a lot of digital radiographic equipment has been developed, which is very helpful for accurate diagnosis and treatment, and it is very important to train personnel who have acquired professional knowledge in order to use it safely and effectively. Students are exposed to the risk of radiation exposure in radiography training using diagnostic X-ray equipment, and some educational institutions do not use X-ray equipment due to management difficulties in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act. As a solution to this, this study developed a medical radiation simulator for education that does not generate radiation by using a vision sensor and self-developed software. Through this, educational institutions can reduce the burden of administrative implementation according to the law, and students can obtain a high level of educational effects in a healthy practice environment without radiation exposure.

  • 현재 하천에서 유량을 측정하는 가장 일반적인 장비는 ADCP(Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler)이다. ADCP는 일정 수심이 확보되는 곳에서는 보트에 장착하여 효율적으로 정확한 유량을 측정하고 있다고 알려져 있다. ADCP의 활용성이 증가함에 따라 측정결과의 신뢰성을 표현하는 방법에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있으며, 프랑스에서는 해외 전문가들을 초청하여 동일한 현장에서 ADCP의 유량을 측정하고 해당 결과를 비교하여 ADCP의 측정정확도에 대한 분석을 수행하고자 하였고, 국내에서도 이와 동일한 방식으로 홍수통제소가 주관하여 국내 유량조사기관들의ADCP를 이용해 장비에 대한 검정과 측정유량에 대한 정확도를 확인하고자 하였다. 해당 방식은 장비들간의 측정결과를 이용하여 이상치를 나타내는 장비에 대해서는 검토가 가능하나, 측정결과에 어떠한 요인들이 측정정확도에 영향을 발생시키는지에 대한 분석을 하기 에는 한계점이 있다. ISO에서는 일반적으로 이루어지는 측정에 대하여 GUM 표준안을 기반으로 하여 측정불확도를 산정하도록 권장하고 있으며, 유량분야의 위원회인 TC 113에서도 GUM을 이용하도록 권장하고 있다(ISO 25377, 2020). 하지만 ADCP를 이용하여 유량을 계산하는 방식이 매우 복잡하고, 이를 GUM에 적용하여 유량측정의 불확도를 산정하기에는 복잡하고 많은 계산식이 필요하기 때문에 이를 계산할 수 있는 도구가 없다면 일반적인 측정자가 불확도를 산정하기에는 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 수행되었던 연구성과들을 종합하여 ADCP의 유량 측정불확도를 산정하는 과정을 프로그램화하고 쉽게 계산할 수 있도록 AQUA(ADCP discharge(Q) Uncertainty Assessment)라는 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. AQUA는 C#을 기반으로 국내에서 일반적으로 사용하고 있는 Sontek사와 TRDI사의 ADCP의 측정결과를 불러올 수 있도록 개발되었다. 해당 소프트웨어를 이용하여 다양한 사용자들이 사용하고 이를 통해 현재 개발된 소프트웨어의 사용성을 보완한다면, 실무에서도 쉽게 ADCP의 측정불확도를 산정할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Analyzing Technology Competitiveness by Country in the Semiconductor Cleaning Equipment Sector Using Quantitative Indices and Co-Classification Network (특허의 정량적 지표와 동시분류 네트워크를 활용한 반도체 세정장비 분야 국가별 기술경쟁력 분석)

  • Despite its matchless position in the global semiconductor industry, Korea has not distinguished itself in the semiconductor equipment sector. Semiconductor cleaning equipment is one of the semiconductor fabrication equipment, and it is expected to be more important along with the advancement of semiconductor fabrication processes. This study attempts to analyze technology competitiveness of major countries in the sector including Korea, and explore specialty sub-areas of the countries. For this purpose, we collected patents of semiconductor cleaning equipment during the last 10 years from the US patent database, and implemented quantitative patent analysis and co-classification network analysis. The result shows that, the US and Japan have been leading the technological progress in this sector, and Korea's competitiveness has lagged behind not only the leading countries but also its competitors and even latecomers. Therefore, intensive R&D and developing technological capabilities are needed for advancing the country's competitiveness in the sector.

  • Crack sealing automation machines' have been continually developed since the early 1990's because of the effectiveness of crack sealing that would be able to improve safety, quality and productivity. It has been considered challenging problem to detect crack network in pavement which includes noise (oil marks, skid marks, previously sealed cracks and inherent noise). It is required to develop crack network mapping and modeling algorithm in order to accurately inject sealant along to the middle of cut crack network. The primary objective of this study is to propose a crack network mapping and modeling algorithm using neural network for improving the accuracy of the algorithm used in the APCS. It is anticipated that the effective use of the proposed algorithms would be able to reduce error rate in image processing for detecting, mapping and modeling crack network as well as improving quality and productivity compared to existing vision algorithms.

Development of a trench shield machine for the near-surface railway construction (저심도 철도 건설을 위한 트렌치 쉴드 장비 개발연구)

  • In this paper, the development of trench shield machine for near-surface railway construction were presented. The Near-surface railway can be constructed by cut and cover construction method, because it is installed at the depth of 5~7 m below roads. The cut and cover construction method mostly use temporary supports. The limitation of the cut and cover method is high installation cost and long construction period. To overcome these disadvantages, development of the trench shield machine is proposed and expected to shorten the construction time and cost of near-surface railway system. The sliding retaining wall of trench shield equipment replaces the role of temporary support (solider piles and lagging) and excavator equiped to the bottom front of the machine shorten the excavation time. This paper deals with design of the bit attached to the excavator and required capacity of the motor.

Utilization of a Smart Glass for Improving Data Interface During the Earthwork Operation (토공작업의 데이터 교환 개선을 위한 스마트 글래스 활용)

  • Earthwork is to level or excavate the ground to provide a space for installing structures. A large number of construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, and dump trucks are put into the earthwork operation. The equipment operators need to constantly communicate with each other during the operation. In the earthwork operation, therefore, the process should be analyzed on the equipment operation to improve the effectiveness of communication. The objective of this study is to understand the earthwork process, and improve the effectiveness of data interface by adopting the smart glass technology. In the study, the general process of earthwork is modeled using a process diagram. The data that is generated during the process is modeled using a class diagram. A database is developed to store and reuse the data. The smart glass technology is adopted to develop a data interface during the earthwork operation. The result of the prototype showed that the technology can improve the data interface during excavation overcoming the shortcomings of hand or sound signals.

A study on Profile Measurement for Railway Wheels using High Speed Camera and Vision Technology (고속 하이비젼 카메라 기술을 이용한 철도차량 차륜형상 측정에 관한 연구)

  • Maintenance and repair devices used for the inspection of the main parts of domestic railway vehicles have been imported from abroad. Especially, one of the representative domestic devices, the 'Wheel Profile Inspector System (WPIS)', was made by benchmarking foreign devices; this vehicle has been operated in the field. However, problems such as the reliability and performance of the WPIS in operation have appeared. In this study, in order to improve the precision and reliability of the WPIS for maintenance and inspection of railway vehicle wheels, the researchers improved the railway vehicle's WPIS by applying high-speed vision camera technology and an optimized image algorithm. The test results show that the reliability of the developed WPIS improved by approximately 10.4% compared to that of the conventional system.

A methodology for an effective utilization of construction equipment for highway construction projects (도로공사 공정계획을 위한 공정 로직 및 건설장비 효율화 방안)

  • Highway construction is a combination of linear, repetitive, and highly equipment intensive operations. Various types of construction equipment are deployed to ensure undisrupted performance of construction, and thus productivity improvement and cost-saving can be achieved through well-thought-out planning. The selection of construction equipment is dependent upon construction sequence, site conditions, and construction methods. In the process of planning, management should consider various types of construction methods per each type of construction operation. Also, management should map out proper construction equipment operation plan that takes the construction duration and cost measures into consideration. However, limited availability of historic data from the similar types of operations has been a stumbling block to proper construction planning, making the operations performed based upon experience and intuition guided by rules-of-thumb. As a consequence, the planing phase rarely provided an adequate validity in the implementation phase. The researchers developed a process logic for each construction type that management can utilize from early phase of highway construction planning process. Moreover, derived the construction equipment combination optimized for efficiency by using the process simulation technique. The developed method is expected to be useful for the decision-making process that aims to evaluate efficiency of various process plans and to ensure optimal selection of construction equipment for highway construction projects.

연안 항해 중소형 선박을 위한 운영 및 유지보수(O&M) 지원 서비스 아키텍처 설계

  • 차도선과 같은 연안 화물 여객선에는 필수 탑재 항해통신장비 이외에 유지보수 지원이나 운항 효율 향상을 위한 장비는 거의 탑재 되어 있지 않은 상황으로 ICT 기술 기반 운영 및 유지보수(O&M, operating and maintenance) 지원 서비스 제공 시스템 도입이 필요하다. 이에 중소형 선박 기자재의 데이터 수집, 통합, 분석을 통해 선박 관리, 유지보수 지원, 운항 모니터링 등의 스마트 O&M 서비스를 제공하기 위한 시스템의 개발을 진행 중에 있다. 개발하는 시스템은 빅데이터 분석 기술, 모바일 어플리케이션 개발 기술, 증강현실(AR) 기술을 기반으로 선박을 구성하는 요소의 상태 모니터링, 최적 관리, 원격 유지보수 지원 등의 서비스를 제공할 예정이다. 또한, 클라우드 기반 육해상 통합 O&M 서비스 지원 시스템의 개발을 통해 선단 단위 분석, 중소형 해운선사 소모품 관리 및 운영 지원 등 종합적인 부가 서비스를 제공하는 것이 목적이다. 이러한 시스템의 개발이 완료되면, 실선 시험을 통해 개발 시스템과 서비스의 유용성을 검증할 계획이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 O&M 지원을 위한 시스템에 관해 소개하고, 앞서 언급한 각종 서비스를 제공하기 위한 선박 및 육상 측 구성요소 정의와 서비스 아키텍처의 설계에 관한 내용을 다룬다.
