A Study on Personal Information Hacking using Domestic Search Engines (국내 검색엔진을 이용한 개인정보 해킹에 관한 연구)

  • ARecent advances of network technologies and internet infrastructures construct a fast and useful information-oriented society. However, these nay infringe on privacy and expose sensitive information such as user id, secret number and credit card number. Therefore, we need countermeasures for solving these problems. In this paper we try to hack personal information using Google and domestic search engines, Naver and Empas. After analyze the result, we suggest solutions to prevent personal information hacking based on these search engines.

An Analysis of Success Factors in Internet Shopping Malls (인터넷 쇼핑몰구축의 성공요인에 대한 분석)

  • The main purpose of this research is to show Internet shopping mall the strategic way with the analysis of success factors in Internet shopping malls. To achieve the above purpose, the success factors and variables were defined by the survey of the reference. Sample malls for the research un selected of shopping malls registered in yahoo, Lycos, Empas and Hanmir regardless of their type and class, and did an online-survey of their operation. From the above method, the following results are deduced. First, there are five factors in the success of Internet shopping malls: the effectiveness of customer management the effectiveness of marketing. the competitiveness of product-sales, the convenience of use, the credibility of product. Second, the effectiveness of marketing is positively related to the number of member, visitors, and sales. Third, the credibility of product is negatively related to the number of member, visitors, and sales. At the end, the number of member and visitor are positively related to sales. This result could provide the managers with highly relevant managerial issues. The implication of the study are discussed and futher research directions are proposed.

  • The representative example of the business model on internet environment, the business of the Naver, Empas and Google which provides information retrieval service is the internet portal. The portal sites provide information retrieval service which provides users information what they want to find, that is a huge social contribution. The portal site which provides a search service leads much problems. Consequently, the regulation against information retrieval is asserted powerfully in spite of the public interest. Namely, the regulation regarding the search business owner is tried. Finally, portal business owner puts the social responsibility as OSP. But, there is a doubt that portal business owner who has much problem which occurred on the portal site indirectly has responsibility directly. That is duty on portal site owner the censorship on the contents transferred. So, this thesis researches on the social critical opinion relating with a information retrieval from the legal side against the problem of the Internet.

PAPR Reduction using Pre-emphasis and Clipping in OFDM Communication System

  • DFDM is a good candidate for beyond-3G high-speed wireless communication application because of the robustness to the intersymbol interference and multipath fading. However. an OFDM signal has a serious problem of the high PAPR, which results in the significant nonlinear distortion when it passes through a nonlinear high power amplifier. We propose a new PAPR reduction method using pre-emphasis and clipping. Via the proposed method, the OFDM output signal can have a low PAPR and BER improvement. Then. de-emphasis process is requisite in OFDM receiver. PAPR is reduced to about 5.7 ㏈ at the CCDF= 10$\^$-3/ when the subcarrier number is 16, QPSK modulation is used. pre-emphasis change point Is 3/9 of the peak amplitude of the IFFT output and clipping level is 11 in the IFFT output amplitude. The required SNR at BER=10$\^$-3/ the proposed system is improved by 2 dB than that of the original OFDM system.

A Quantitative Analysis of Classification Classes and Classified Information Resources of Directory (디렉터리 서비스 분류항목 및 정보자원의 계량적 분석)

  • This study analyzes the classification schemes and classified information resources of the directory services provided by major web portals to complement keyword-based retrieval. Specifically, this study intends to quantitatively analyze the topic categories, the information resources by subject, and the information resources classified by the topic categories of three directories, Yahoo, Naver, and Empas. The result of this analysis reveals some differences among directory services. Overall, these directories show different ratios of referred categories to original categories depending on the subject area, and the categories regarded as format-based show the highest proportion of referred categories. In terms of the total amount of classified information resources, Yahoo has the largest number of resources. The directories compared have different amounts of resources depending on the subject area. The quantitative analysis of resources classified by the specific category is performed on the class of 'News & Media'. The result reveals that Naver and Empas contain overly specified categories compared to Yahoo, as far as the number of information resources categorized is concerned. Comparing the depth of the categories assigned by the three directories to the same information resources, it is found that, on average, Yahoo assigns one-step further segmented divisions than the other two directories to the identical resources.

The Investigation of Current Information Regarding Renal Diseases in Mass Media (대중매체를 통한 신장 관련 정보 제공 실태에 대한 고찰)

  • Purpose: We often have patients who acquired incorrect medical information from the mass media. The purpose of this study was to evaluate credibility of articles in newspapers and medical counseling on websites about renal diseases. Methods: Kidney information was searched in 6 newspapers for the past 10 years, and 4 portal websites and 17 internet health counseling sites for the past 5 years. We classified them according to information providers and evaluated credibility by giving points 3, 2, 1 to correct, mostly correct but ambiguous, and incorrect contents, respectively. We compared the credibility of the groups with each other. Results: Sixty four articles from newspapers, and 789 and 506 medical counselings from portal websites and internet health counseling sites were selected, respectively. The kidney information providers in newspapers were medical journalists(doctors)(31.2%), kidney specialists(doctors)(23.4%) and so on. The consultants in the portal sites were doctors(49.1%)and anonymous reporters (49.9%). In internet health counseling sites, 91% of the consultants were doctors. All articles in the newspapers were credible. Doctors' answers were more credible than nonphysicians'(P=0.005) and anonymous contributors(P<0.001) in portal sites. In health counseling sites, doctors answered more reliably than nonphysicians. Conclusion: The kidney information in newspapers was credible. It is important for questioners to confirm the type of consultants in websites. We suggest that doctors, especially kidney specialists need to increase their roles in offering information to mass media.
