Development of Intelligent Multi-Agent in the Game Environment (게임 환경에서의 지능형 다중 에이전트 개발)

  • Recently, research on the multi-agent system is developed actively in the various fields, especially on the control of complex system and optimization. In this study, we develop a multi-agent system for NPC simulation in game environment. The purpose of the development is to support quick and precise decision by inferencing the situation of the dynamic discrete domain, and to support an optimization process of the agent system. Our approach employed Petri-net as a basic agent model to simplify structure of the system, and used fuzzy inference engine to support decision making in various situation. Our experimentation describes situation of the virtual battlefield between the NPCs, which are divided two groups, such as fuzzy rule based agent and automata based agent. We calculate the percentage of winning and survival rate from the several simulations, and the result describes that the fuzzy rule based agent showed better performance than the automata based agent.

  • It is necessary to establish a system suitable for the driving vehicle so that it can effectively search for and modify various data anywhere and anytime by effectively linking communication with the computer system in the running vehicle and to control the equipment properly for smooth operation on a limited platform do. Also, vehicle CAN communication is used to extract system engine information, and data is transmitted using ZigBee for this information transmission. Therefore, OBD-II protocol, which is provided by the vehicle itself, is used for vehicle CAN to obtain vehicle status information and exhaust gas using various sensor information of the vehicle and O2 sensor value, and transmits it to the ZigBee main control system. In this study, we implemented a system that can reduce the battery load damage to the maximum by reducing the power consumption to the maximum, and to monitor the internal state of the vehicle through ZigBee communication with the embedded system for low power vehicles.

Effects of Intake Gas Mixture Cooling on Enhancement of The Maximum Brake Power in a 2.4 L Hydrogen Spark-ignition Engine (수소 내연기관의 흡기 냉각 방법에 따른 최고 출력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Since hydrogen has the lower minimum ignition energy than that of gasoline, hydrogen could be also appropriate for the IC engine systems. However, due to the low ignition energy, there might be a 'back-fire' and 'pre-ignition' problems with hydrogen SI(Spark-ignition) combustion. In this research, cooling effects of intake gas mixture on the improvement of the maximum power output were evaluated in a 2.4 L SI engine. There were two ways to cool intake gas mixtures. The first one was cooling intake fresh air by adjusting inter-cooler system after turbocharger. The other one was cooling hydrogen fuel before supplying by using heat ex-changer. Cooling hydrogen was performed under natural aspired condition. The result showed that cooling fresh air from 40 ℃ to 20~30 ℃ improved the maximum brake power up to 6.5~8.6 % and cooling hydrogen fuel as -6 ℃ enhanced the maximum brake power likewise.

  • With the increasing trend of making manufacturing system intelligent and autonomous, the introduction of robot-assist automation, like machine tending system for automated operation of CNC machine tools, is being actively carried out at many industrial sites. Most important part of this intelligent system to install machine tending system, is interface programming between the CNC machine tools and the industrial robot. Despite this importance, however, the machine tending system has many setup problems. it is necessary for difficult re-program of both controllers whenever a new CNC machine tool or robot is introduced. And, the helps of external engineers is required even though trivial changes due to the complex structure of the machine tending system. Authors of this paper introduces the integrated system of the interface between heterogeneous CNC machine tools and industrial robots. In addition, the digital twin implemented inside the machine tool controller enable shop-floor operators to change the interface programming easily. To implement this system, an integrated development environment for 1) an intelligent HMI platform that provide standardized interfaces to heterogeneous CNC machine tools and 2) a robot platform developing application software of various robots, was established. For easy un-tact environment, this paper explain the development of 3) a game-engine based web program of controlling and monitoring machine tending system remotely.

Speed Control of Marine Gas Turbine Engine using Nonlinear PID Controller (비선형 PID 제어기를 이용한 선박용 가스터빈 엔진의 속도 제어)

  • A gas turbine engine plays an important role as a prime mover that is used in the marine transportation field as well as the space/aviation and power plant fields. However, it has a complicated structure and there is a time delay element in the combustion process. Therefore, an elaborate mathematical model needs to be developed to control a gas turbine engine. In this study, a modeling technique for a gas generator, a PLA actuator, and a metering valve, which are major components of a gas turbine engine, is explained. In addition, sub-models are obtained at several operating points in a steady state based on the trial running data of a gas turbine engine, and a method for controlling the engine speed is proposed by designing an NPID controller for each sub-model. The proposed NPID controller uses three kinds of gains that are implemented with a nonlinear function. The parameters of the NPID controller are tuned using real-coded genetic algorithms in terms of minimizing the objective function. The validity of the proposed method is examined by applying to a gas turbine engine and by conducting a simulation.

Effect of Control Method and Plunger Profile of Variable Valve on Flow Control of a Liquid Rocket Engine (액체로켓엔진의 유량조절에 가변밸브의 조절기법과 플런저 형상이 미치는 영향)

  • Dynamic characteristics of a flow control valve, which plays an important role in thrust and O/F control of liquid rocket engines, have been analyzed by the AMESim simulator modeling. The speed control method was proposed for the control of the flow valve equipped with a BLDC motor. The experimental results demonstrated the feasibility of systematical application as well as the performance of the speed control method. Moreover, the speed control method for BLDC motor is much simpler than the P control method in complex flow systems. With the speed control method, the control flow characteristics were evaluated according to plunger shapes. Consequently, same plunger shape proved to be more efficient in the mixture ratio control operated by two flow valves. It was also shown that the appropriate modification of plunger shapes could reduce the mixture ratio perturbation by 0.5%.

Improved DC-DC Bidirectional Converter (개선된 DC-DC 양방향 컨버터)

  • Since the introduction of electronically controlled engines and electric propulsion ships, the need for an uninterruptible power supply for emergency power supply devices that use batteries has gained importance. The bidirectional converter in such emergency power supply devices is a crucial component. This paper proposes, a topology for an improved DC-DC bidirectional converter that is characterized by a high voltage conversion ratio and low voltage stress of switches. To confirm the performance of the converter, a computer simulation was executed with PSIM software. The conversion ratio of the proposed converter was found to be four times higher than the conventional boost converter in step-up mode and one-fourth that of the conventional buck converter in step-down mode, and the voltage stress of the switches was one-fourth of the high-side voltage. Moreover, the proposed converter was confirmed to be able to distribute equal currents between two interleaved modules without using any extra current-sharing control method because of the charge balance of its blocking capacitors.

Evaluation of the Shock Resistance of a Gas Turbine Package (가스터빈 패키지 내충격 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the shock resistance of a gas turbine package subjected to a shock load caused by non-contact underwater explosion was investigated using numerical analysis. To perform shock analysis, the time-history shock load was calculated according to BV-043 (German Navy Regulation). The direct transient response analysis in the time domain for the simplified Whole Engine Model (WEM) was performed using the calculated shock load. In addition, the structural integrity of a detailed model was evaluated by considering the shock load transferred to each component. As a result, it was confirmed that the safety factor was at least 1.0 as compared with the reference stress. Finally, the structural and functional integrity of the Engine Management System (EMS) of the gas turbine package was verified through an actual shock test.

  • Presently, It is required to change convergence the role of hardware system and software technology that promoted trust of In-Vehicle for integrated complex system visibility evaluation. There is possibility for the period system can invoke unpredictable confusing blank state. The blank state systems have ecosystem characteristics that are supplied, maintained and operated through the complex interactions of technology and culture. Using universal middleware can support the life-cycle model and increase the visibility of complex systems and prepare for confusing situations. In this study, based on universal middleware, data and service dynamic standardized modules were evaluated to support stable system visibility platform. The system visibility module consists of Intelligent Pervasive Cloud module, Memorial Service module and Life Cycler connection module. In addition, the analysis results are supported by various network application service standards through platform independent system and architecture.

  • It is very important to remove the noise levels made by an electric home appliance and machines they are located in the auditory region. The noise of ship engine room is known as it is not easy to lower so the working environment of the engine room is the worst condition because the improvement for the noise seemed insignificant and the hearing loss is occurred. As the monitoring equipment and an intelligent control system are improved rapidly the main engine of the ship can be enclosed with an acoustic barrier and any other absorbtion equipment. In this study, the sound absorbtion barrier is experimentally researched by change the volume and the length of the neck for the Helmholtz resonator as the resonator can absorb the noise effectively.
