Performance Analysis of Futurebus+ based Multiprocessor Systems with MESI Cache Coherence Protocol (MESI 캐쉬 코히어런스 프로토콜을 사용하는 Futurebus+ 기반 멀티프로세서 시스템의 성능 평가)

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a Futurebus based multiprocessor system with MESI cache coherence protocol for four bus transaction types. Graphical symbols and compiler of SLAM II are used in modeling and simulation. A steady-state probability of each state for MESI protocol is computed by a Markov chain. The probability of each state is used as an input value for a correct simulation. Processor utilization, memory utilization, bus utilization, and the waiting time for bus arbitration are measured in terms of the number of processors, the hit ratio of cache memory, the probability of internal operation, and bus bandwidth.

  • The enterprise service network is composed of internet, intranet and DMZ. The design rationale of Mobile IP is providing of seamless mobility transparency without regarding to the type of network topology and services. However, Mobile IP specification does not include the mobility support in case of using VPN environment and define the access scenarios to get into the VPN intranet without disturbing existing security policy. In this paper, we propose an authentication method using AAA infrastructure and keying material exchange to enable an user in internet to be able to access the intranet through the VPN gateway. Finally, performance analysis for the proposed scheme is provided.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient variable-length radix-8/4/2 FFT architecture for OFDM systems. The FFT processor is based on radix-8 FFT algorithm and also supports radix-4 or radix-2 FFT computation. We are using efficient "In-place" memory access method to maintain conflict-free data access and minimize memory size. Also we replace a very large lookup table with a twiddle factor generator which consumes less area then a ROM-based lookup table. The proposed FFT processor performs variable-length FFT including 64, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096 and 8192 points which cover all the required FFT lengths used in 802.11a, 802.16a, DAB, DVB-T, VDSL and ADSL.

  • While dCollections of Korea have been initiated by a government for metadata harvesting, institutional repositories of Japan have been managed as instituion's independent tool for not only collectiong, archiving and distributing their intellecture assets, but also realizing open access. This study analyzes IRDB of Japanese statistically for understanding features of institutional repositories and by clustering the repository on the basis of types of contents, the differences have been brightened. According to analysis result, Japanese repository contains diverse types of contents, such as journal articles;scholarly papers, text books and technical reports. etc. and clustered by five distinguished group with different contents type.

  • With the rapid and broad changes of information media and information environment the traditional libraries have been evolving into the digital libraries. An analysis for the Planning and realization of the electronic resource management system was carried out to establish the various electronic resources in the digital library, the first in Korea. The study targeted from electronic journals, web-based databases, e-books, and to open access resources. The focus of the analysis lies in the Providing practical integrated electronic resource management for digital librarian based on the framework of effective Electronic Resource Management Initiative(ERMI) of Digital Library Federation(DLF) with network and electronic resource description. The analyses included life-cycle, subscription models, coverages. types of information provider for electronic resources. and system organization for implementation of electronic resource management system.

  • ISO/IEC 15938-1(MPEG-7 Systems)에서는 멀티미디어 컨텐츠에 대한 메타데이터의 효율적인 전송과 저장을 위한 이진 표현 방법인 BiM(binary format for MPEC-7)을 제공한다. 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 기술(description)하는 메타데이터의 텍스트 표현은 대체로 많은 저장 용량과 전송 리소스를 요구하기 때문에 효율적인 압축을 위해서는 이진 형식으로의 변환이 요구된다. 또한 텍스트 형식은 방송 환경과 같은 스트리밍 전송에는 적절하지 못한 단점이 있다. BiM은 컨텐츠에 대한 기술을 전체 또는 2개 이상의 AU(access units) 단위로 분할하며 부호화하는 방법을 지원함으로써 스트리밍 전송을 가능하게 한다. 이러한 구조는 이진 포맷 형태로 표현되는 헤더를 가지는 패킷 기반 형태이며, 융통성이 있는 전송 순서를 제공한다. 또한, 비트 스트림의 전체를 해석(parsing)하지 않고 랜덤 엑세스 기능을 제공하는 장점이 있다. BiM이 지닌 이러한 장점들로 인하여 현재 방송산업계를 중심으로 메타데이터를 방송에 활용하기 위한 기술을 표준화하는 국제 민간 표준화 기구인 TV-Anytime 포럼에서는 방송 컨텐츠에 대한 메타데이터의 압축에 관한 요구사항을 만족하는 하나의 방법으로 BiM을 고려하고 있다 본 논문에서는 이러한 MPEG-7 시스템의 BiM을 소개하고, 이를 이용하여 TV-Anytime 포럼의 메타데이터를 이진 포맷으로 부호화한 실험과 그 결과를 기술한다.

  • In this paper, for useful administration of the data which have ambiguities meaningfully and hard to treat, a new relation database model using an integrated fuzzy sets and rough sets relational database one. After proposing Fuzzy-rough relational database model on the base of integrated Fuzzy and Rough sets, Application of the examples of arithmetic is analyzed through the Access DBMS and the visual basic by composing and representing database based on fuzzy and rough sets which are characterized as fuzzy sets and rough sets on Pentium computer(166Mhz). This paper was induced to reduce the data incompleteness.

  • Wi-Fi defines the procedure to search an AP, authenticate both station and AP, and associate the new BSS or ESS which enables the link layer handoff. One of the problems for hotspot service of Wi-Fi is "passing-object", Wi-Fi describes the messages exchanges between two neighboring APs in BSS or ESS. If the station passes through the neighboring APs before completing link-layer handoff, the path where the tunneled packets should be sent is lost. In this paper, we propose to integrate the positioning entity in a service domain to keep track the high-speed movement.

  • In video-on-demand systems, movies are striped across the disks of the array in a video server to support multiple access. The blocks of the movies have to be placed carefully on the disks of the array in a video server in order to avoid load imbalance across these disks as well as to achieve maximum utilization of both space and bandwidth of these disks. This paper proposes a movie placement method called the GARR (group-alternation round-robin) that is based on the dynamic disk striping method considering the popularity of movie. The GARR uses group-alternation as movie selection policy and round-robin as data placement policy, where group-alternation allocates popular movie and unpopular movie groups to disks alternately. The performance of the GARR is evaluated by simulations.

  • Recently, software programming method based on EJB for object oriented software design and implement has been used frequently. Usually, case that use permanent data that use Database in EJB base application is most. Part connected with Database-Access that take charge in Entity Bean class of server side creation program. In this paper using J2EE relationship DAO pattern class each separate. This is no much difference with existent pattern method, but in same pattern common classes are designed so that composition may be possible. And as well as use Entity Bean class that created each DBMS classes are different, is doing Rata Source so that connection work is available without alteration or creation of additional program in several DBMS environments.
