  • The eco-design in modem fashion is mixed with a well-being trend that combines functionality and ethics with technology to suggest a new fashion style for the $21^{st}$ century. This study analyzes the colors of the eco-design in the current fashion trends and identifies the eco-friendly color images that suggest directions for eco-design. The results of this study are as follows. First, the eco-design is an ethical design concept of the ecological value. It can be classified into the functional efficiency in the multi-functionality the sustainability, the recycling capability, the trends for health and craftsmanship, according to various suggestions by eco-design related theorists. Second, the eco-colors shown in the fashion trend follow the order of YR, R, Y, N, and B, with the order of the pale, grayish, light grayish and dull tones. Third, the hue trends of eco-colors each eco-type are focused on R, YR, and Y. With regards to the tones, the functional efficiency, the multi-functional capability, and the sustainability are shown in the neutral tone, while the recycling capability is shown in the grayish tone and the trends pursuing health and craftsmanship are shown in the pale tone.

Content analysis and statistical analysis using SPSS will be conducted for data analysis. The results of the research are as follows. First, the change difference according to the year of the eco fashion design. The focus was on, the natural image (from 2006 to 2008), the romantic image (from 2008 to 2009), and vintage, multi, and modern (from 2010). It was noticeable that the forms, colors, and materials changed simultaneously with the various images. The changing progress of eco fashion design was on the design changes according to fashion image changes. Second, after an examination of the characteristic difference of eco fashion designs according to seasons, the difference was shown as a natural and romantic image in the S/S season as well the vintage and classical image focused on the F/W season. It is figurative that S/S season shows a romantic image as well as magnifies a sportive image that is natural and active. Multi, natural and vintage images mostly appeared for the F/W season. • This paper aimed to find out the eco-friendly approach enabling to directly print patterns and dye colors on fabrics using leaves of plants. In the research process, I found out the 'eco-printing' which could effectively express unique colors and patterns of plants. While eco-printing can design the patterns and colors of plants in nature using the leaves of plant(Eucalyptus), it is difficult to implement because it is not systematically and academically investigated including the dictionary definition in Korea until now. Thus, I tried to define the eco-printing and natural dyeing using leaves or flowers of plants enabling to get natural patterns and colors and do the experimental research and production using the leaves of Eucalyptus. The leaves of Eucalyptus were arranged on a wool scarf and a silk scarf, tied and applied pressure to them and made pigments penetrate into fabrics by heating or steaming them. This approach is to directly print the patterns using the shapes of plants on fabrics unlike the existing approaches dyeing by extracting dyeing solution from natural materials. Furthermore, the change of colors was attempted by using the color fixers. In accordance with the results of this experimental research, the scarf design differentiated from the existing products could be acquired. It was identified that eco-printing could induce the color variables depending on the conditions of each material and environment. For improving the color variables, various kinds of fabrics and divers kinds of materials which can be easily acquired in a daily life will be investigated and compared. Furthermore, it is expected that the experimental research and production techniques on eco-printing be utilized when starting natural dyeing and the scope of natural dyeing be more expanded.

  • This study attempted to investigate present condition and product planning of global eco-fashion brands that harmonize fashion and sustainability. As research subjects, this study selected 97 oversea fashion brands mentioned in books related to eco-fashion, Black(2011), Brown(2010), Fuad-luke(2009). As for research methods, materials and ethical practices of these selected 97 brands through literature data and their internet site homepages. This study analyzed oversea eco-brands collected 26 British brands, 22 American brands, 36 European brands such as Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Finland and so on, except Britain and 13 other regions including Japan, India, Canada, Mexico, and New zealand. In conclusion, the product planning characteristics of these oversea eco-fashion brands can be summarized as follows; community and fair trade, ecological and slow design, recycle, reuse, redesign, and new eco-models. Firstly, brands of 'community and fair trade' manufactured products through fair trade and local community's artisan by ethical practices with organic fabrics. Secondly, brands of 'ecological and slow design' pursued timeless design and multi-functional design as luxury eco-fashion styles. They used organic textiles, hemp, bamboo, soya, tencell, sea cell, and self-sustaining plants. Thirdly, brands of 'recycle, reuse, redesign' aimed for upcycling high-end fashion and used vintage clothes, textile scraps, PET, parachutes, tires, safety belts, advertising banner and so on. In addition, brands of 'new models as eco-fashion' suggested zero-waste cutting, recycling over-printing technology, new sustainable business model, and ethical practices in the supply chain of the fashion industry.

  • Ecodesign is specific process integrating environmental aspect as a cost, quality, function into the stage of product development. Ecodesign is one of importance elements for sustainable development, a lot of company and institute have been tried to integrate environmental aspect into the stage of product development. But there's almost no endeavor to improve environmental aspects of electrical moto unit in korea. In this research, LCA was conducted for identifying environmental key issue of EMU. Also EQFD was conducted for analysis of stakeholder requirements. Combining each results from LCA and EQFD by using environmental strategy. Advancing to measure, task from environmental strategy. Finally, EMU was redesigned and we took ecology profile of redesigned EMU including eco-efficiency.

  • This study examines the development of knitwear design using environmentally friendly Hanji (Korean traditional handmade paper) yarn. While its environmentally friendly features make Hanji yarn suitable for eco-fashion design, Hanji products, generally produced in limited quantities, are highly unlikely to become a commercial success due to their high prices. Therefore, a new technology allowing the production of low-cost Hanji yarn is in high demand, as is its application across multiple products in addition to knitwear. The significance of this study lies in that it suggests ways to design knitwear which reflect the versatility of modern eco-fashion to meet the needs of consumers. This study presents knitwear designs, specifically party wear and everyday fashion, that utilize the advantages of Hanji yarn and represent 2013 S/S color trends. Two outfits will be featured - one for women in their 20s and 30s and the other for women in their 30s and 40s. Also, this paper includes a literature review and an accounting of online research on Hanji yarn and eco-fashion designs.
