저가 고효율 실리콘계 (protocrystalline Si/$\mu$c-Si:H) 적층형 박막 태양전지 개발

  • 비정질 실리콘 태양전지 대신에 열화가 더 적은 프로터결정 실리콘(pc-Si:H)을 상층전지 흡수층으로 사용한 고효율 실리콘계 적층형(pc-Si:H/$\mu$c-Si:H) 박막 태양전지를 개발하였다. 우선, 높은 전도도와 넓은 에너지 밴드갭 특성을 갖는 p-a-SiC:H 박막을 개발하였고, p/i 계면의 특성 향상을 위해 p-nc-SiC:H 완충층을 개발하였다. 프로터결정 실리콘 다층막을 제작하고 FTIR, 평면 TEM, 단면 TEM 측정을 통해 프로터결정 실리콘 다층막의 우수한 열화 특성의 원인을 규명하였다. 적층형 태양전지의 성능향상을 위해 n-p-p 구조의 터널접합을 제안, 제작하고 특성을 분석하였으며, pc-Si:H/a-Si:H 적층형 태양전지에 적용하여 성능향상을 이루었다. 양질의 하층전지용 마이크로결정 실리콘 박막을 증착하기 위하여 광CVD법과 플라즈마CVD법을 결합한 2단계 마이크로결정 실리콘 증착법을 개발하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 구조물 상치에 에어챔버를 설치하여 챔버 내부의 공기주입량에 따라 흘수심을 조절 할 수 있는 유공 및 투수성부유식방파제를 사용하였으며, 부유식방파제의 흘수심구간에 유공을 두어 내부의 흐름에 따른 에너지소산 효과를 수리모형실험을 통하여 분석하였다. 기존 연구에 의하여 선행되어진 부유식방파제의 형상은 구조물 제체의 입사면과 투과면이 막힌 형태의 연구가 대다수였으나, 계류라인의 장력에 따른 부체의 안정성을 고려하여 본 수리모형실험에서는 입사면 흘수심구간과 투과면 흘수심구간에 유공 및 투수층을 두어 진행하는 입사파랑을 일부 흡수하도록 하였다. 또한, 부유식방파제 흘수심단면의 내부에서 흐름변화에 의한 에너지소산 효과와 입사면과 투과면의 유공률 변화에 따른 방파성능을 무공 부유식방파제와 비교하며 효율성을 분석하였다.

  • 전열교환기는 최근 대형건물 및 생산공장 등의 에너지 다소비 장소의 공기조화설비의 에너지 절감기기로서 크게 각광 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 특히 알루미늄 박판에 실리카-겔 분말을 코팅한 Honey comb형 로터는 현열 및 잠열 즉 전열을 흡수할 수 있어 폐에너지 회수용 전열교환기의 전열소자로서 점차 이용되고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 현재까지 전열교환기의 핵심부품인 상기 로터를 전량 수입에 의존하여 왔다. 본 연구에서는 백륜공업(주)와 공동출연으로 실리카-겔 분말 코팅된 알루미늄 소재 박판만 수입하여 성형공정 기술을 개선, 향상시켜 국산로터의 시제품을 제작하고 그 성능을 시험하여 수입로터와 비교, 평가하였다. 연구결과, 국산개발 알루미늄 로터 시제품의 전열효율이 수입로터 보다 급배기 조건에 따라 1~5%정도 향상되었다. 또한 알루미늄 로터의 최적운전조건(11-13 r.p.m) 및 급배기 공기량비에 대한 적정조건도 연구결과로 얻어졌다.

Study on Absorption Characteristics of $CO_2$ in Aqueous Alkanolamine Solutions (알카놀아민 수용액을 이용한 이산화탄소 흡수특성 연구)

  • Increase of $CO_2$ by using fossil fuels makes mainly global warming and the international efforts to reduce the $CO_2$ emission is being promoted. Absorption process using aqueous alkanolamine solution to remove acid components in the mixed gases has been used commercially. This method was used to remove $CO_2$ in the flue gas in recent years. $CO_2$ Absorption characteristics of several aqueous alkanolamine solutions such as MEA, DEA and AMP was studied by measuring vapor-liquid-equilibrium(VLE) and absorption velocity in this study. VLE measuring equipment, shell and reactor type, was used to acquire VLE data, equilibrium $CO_2$ pressure(${P_{CO_2}}^*$) and time at each pulse gas input. We also acquired the $CO_2$ absorption velocity by measuring the time to arrive the VLE at $40{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ and first gas input. The $CO_2$ absorption capacity of MEA 10wt% solution was higher than two alkanolamine solutions at $40^{\circ}C$ and the equilibrium $CO_2$ loading was 0.5. Absorption capacity was excellent as follows; AMP>DEA>MEA. But absorption velocity was fast as follows; MEA>AMP>DEA. Though good absorbent was considered by many variables, absorption velocity and capacity was more important factor.

  • Daegu Solar Power Tower Plant of a 200 kW thermal capacity uses an open air receiver. An air receiver is generally based on the volumetric receiver concept with porous ceramic absorbers. Because absorber material is important in the volumetric receiver, ceramic materials with excellent thermal conductivity, high solar absorptivity and good thermal stability have been researched. KIER also developed SiC honeycomb absorber modules and evaluated performance of the modules at the KIER solar furnace. For performance evaluation, we made an open volumetric receiver containing the modules and measured the outlet temperature and the efficiency. It is demonstrated that performance of the KIER absorber is comparable to that of a reference absorber developed by DLR.

Effect of Bead Shape in Aluminum Crash Box for Effective Impact Energy Absorption Under Low- Velocity Impact Condition (저속충돌조건에서 효과적인 충돌에너지흡수를 위한 알루미늄 크래쉬 박스의 비드형상 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the bead shape on the crash performance of an aluminum crash box under a low-velocity impact condition. The initial peak load and impact energy absorption of a crash box with three types of bead shapes-edge concave, surface convex, and surface concave type-were studied through an FE analysis and an experiment. In addition, the effects of the bead shapes on the crash performance of the crash box were verified through a low-velocity-impact test with a front side member assembled with an aluminum crash box. The initial peak load of the surface-concave-type crash box was reduced by the bead, and therefore, deformation of the front side member at initial contact could be prevented. Furthermore, there was no deformation of the front side member after the impact test because the crash box with a surface-concave-type bead absorbed all the impact energy.

A Preliminary Study on the Structural Performance of the Bumper-Beams for High-Strength Steel Applications (고장력강판 적용을 위한 자동차 범퍼빔 구조성능의 기초연구)

  • Consistent efforts have been made to reduce the weight of automotive parts by using lightweight materials. This has resulted in the replacement of conventional steels in car body structures with high-strength steels, and the current usage rate has reached 50%. This study examines the structural stiffness and energy absorption capability of bumper beams made of high-strength steels. New types of bumper beam cross sections are proposed.The structural stiffness and maximum bending force were computed via finite element analysis as about 25tons and 7.5tons/mm, and there were no significant differences among the proposedcross sections. Dynamic analysis was also carried out to investigate the energy absorption capabilities of the bumper beams, and the effects of materials and thickness reduction were analyzed. High-strength steel can be used to achieve weight reduction with comparable structural performance to conventional bumper beams.

  • This study was conducted to improve the operating conditions of an adsorption tower filled with potassium impregnated activated carbon for high hydrogen sulfide capture capacity. Heat treatment modified the surface properties of activated carbon, and ultimately determined its adsorption capacity. The activated carbon doped with potassium showed 57 times more adsorption at room temperature than that of using the raw adsorbent. It is believed that uniform pore formation and strong bonding of the potassium on the surface of carbon contributed to the chemical and physical absorption of hydrogen sulfide. The SEM analysis on the surface structure of various commercial carbons showed that the modification of surface properties through the heat treatment generated the destruction of pore structures resulted in the decrease of the absorption performance. The pressure drop across the activated carbon bed was closely related with the grain size and shape. The optimum size of irregularly shaped activated carbon granules was 2~4 mesh indicating economical feasibility.

  • To investigate the effects of the number of multiple-cycles and $SO_2$ concentration on $CO_2$ absorption characteristics by means of limestone, $CO_2$ capture capacity has been measured in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor (0.1m 1.D., 1.17m high). Danyang limestone was used as a $CO_2$ sorbent and the number of cycles $(\~10th\;cycle)$ and $SO_2$ concentrations (0, 2000, 4000 ppm) were considered as variables. The measured $CO_2$ capture capacity decreased as the number of cycles increased and it showed $50\%$ or initial value after 10 cycles. Moreover, $CO_2$ rapture capacity decreased with 501 concentrations. For three different $SO_2$ concentrations, the total CaO utilization was almost the same but $SO_2$ capture capacity increased and $CO_2$ capture capacity decreased as $SO_2$ concentration increased. These results suggest that $SO_2$ capture reaction is predominant over $CO_2$ capture reaction in the simultaneous $CO_2/SO_2$ capture conditions.
