  • The computer programming education is very important to study the related subjects in computer science, and also in the technology education for the students finding employment. In this paper, we develop the assessment metrics to evaluate and apply the textual and visual programming in the computer education. Also, we analyze the validity for the programming languages and tools for the education and getting job of students, and choose the appropriate programming language/tool for programming education. And, we develop the curriculum for programming education, finally apply and analyze in computer education of university. Especially, we compare and analyze the effectiveness for the text based programming language(JAVA) and visual programming language/environment(LabVIEW) in the area of embedded/mobile/Web programming fields which are necessary in the related industry to the recent trend of IT technology.

Korean Automated Scoring System for Supply-Type Items using Semi-Supervised Learning (준지도학습 방법을 이용한 한국어 서답형 문항 자동채점 시스템)

  • 서답형 문항은 학생들의 종합적인 사고능력을 판단하는데 매우 유용하지만 채점할 때, 시간과 비용이 매우 많이 소요되고 채점자의 공정성을 확보해야 하는 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제를 개선하기 위해 본 논문에서는 서답형 문항에 대한 자동채점 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 크게 언어 처리 단계와 채점 단계로 나뉜다. 첫 번째로 언어 처리 단계에서는 형태소 분석과 같은 한국어 정보처리 시스템을 이용하여 학생들의 답안을 분석한다. 두 번째로 채점 단계를 진행하는데 이 단계는 아래와 같은 순서로 진행된다. 1) 첫 번째 단계에서 분석 결과가 완전히 일치하는 답안들을 하나의 유형으로 간주하여 각 유형에 속한 답안의 빈도수가 높은 순서대로 정렬하여 인간 채점자가 고빈도 학생 답안을 수동으로 채점한다. 2) 현재까지 채점된 결과와 모범답안을 학습말뭉치로 간주하여 자질 추출 및 자질 가중치 학습을 수행한다. 3) 2)의 학습 결과를 토대로 미채점 답안들을 군집화하여 분류한다. 4) 분류된 결과 중에서 신뢰성이 높은 채점 답안에 대해서 인간 채점자가 확인하고 학습말뭉치에 추가한다. 5) 이와 같은 방법으로 미채점 답안이 존재하지 않을 때까지 반복한다. 제안된 시스템을 평가하기 위해서 2013년 학업성취도 평가의 사회(중3) 및 국어(고2) 과목의 서답형 문항을 사용하였다. 각 과목에서 1000개의 학생 답안을 추출하여 채점시간과 정확률을 평가하였다. 채점시간을 전체적으로 약 80% 이상 줄일 수 있었고 채점 정확률은 사회 및 국어 과목에 대해 각각 98.7%와 97.2%로 나타났다. 앞으로 자동 채점 시스템의 성능을 개선하고 인간 채점자의 집중도를 높일 수 있도록 인터페이스를 개선한다면 국가수준의 대단위 평가에 충분히 활용할 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.

An Exploratory Study on Advertising Effectiveness Using Linguistic Analysis: Focused on KLIWC (언어분석을 이용한 광고효과 탐색연구 : KLIWC를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of measuring advertising effectiveness through the ad evaluation text. The 384 university students were asked to evaluate the positive and negative evaluation ads of high and low involvement products by self-report method and to write ad evaluation text online. The written ad evaluation text were analyzed by KLIWC and to examine the difference between the comment of positive and negative advertising. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, there were differences between positive and negative ads in 17 psychosocial variables. Second, there were differences between positive and negative ads in 9 linguistic variables. Third, there was a significant correlation between KLIWC variables(Positive & negative emotions, inhibition, conviction, physical condition & function and sleep/dreams) and advertising effect variables. This study suggests that the advertising evaluation comment reflects the consumer's psychological reaction to advertising and the possibility of measuring the advertising effectiveness using advertising evaluation text.

Development of the Balanced Language Education Program Model -on the basis of young children in low-income families participating in Dream Start- (균형적 언어교육 프로그램 모형 개발 -드림스타트 저소득 가정 유아를 대상으로-)

  • This study aims to develop and apply the language education program model - based on balanced language education approach - on development of literacy of young children in low-income families, specially participating in Dream Start public welfare service. Development of this languge education program was based on the basic view and characteristis of balanced language education. It was progressed in accordance with Analyze-Design-Develop-implement-Evaluate(ADDIE), which is an widely-used instructional design model. Educational contents including reading skills of picture books based on whole language approach and well-structured reading and writing sequences, teaching and learning method including the principles and the strategies and teaching and learning systematic evaluation method are proposed in viewpoint of balanced language teaching approach. The application of the program was conducted targeting 20 young children participating in Dream Start welfare service from June 2015 until early November. To evaluate the effectiveness of this program, word reading inspection and nonsense word reading inspection developed by Ko, Yeon-Kyung(2002) were performed. The reflective thinking journal of visiting teachers and the satisfaction reported by parents were analysed in the qualitative research method. As a result, reading skills of young children were improved. The superiority of the program - prefernce for the picture book, interests in written languages, effectiveness of individualized language education method - was demonstrated by qualitative analysis of reflective journal. This study has the significance on presenting the executable language education model for literacy development of young children in low-income families based on balanced language education approach.

Meta-analysis of the effectiveness of speech processing analysis methods: Focus on phonological encoding, phonological short-term memory, articulation transcoding (메타분석을 통한 말 처리 분석방법의 효과 연구: 음운부호화, 음운단기기억, 조음전환을 중심으로)

  • This study aimed to establish evaluation methods for the speech processing stages of phonological encoding, phonological short-term memory, and articulation transcoding from a psycholinguistic perspective. A meta-analysis of 21 studies published between 2000 and 2024, involving 1,442 participants, was conducted. Participants were divided into six groups: general, dyslexia, speech sound disorder, language delay, apraxia+aphasia, and childhood apraxia of speech. The analysis revealed effect sizes of g=.46 for phonological encoding errors, g=.57 for phonological short-term memory errors, and g=.63 for articulation transition errors. These results suggest that substitution errors, order and repetition errors, and phoneme addition and voicing substitution errors are key indicators for assessing these abilities. This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of speech and language disorders by providing a methodological framework for evaluating speech processing stages and a detailed analysis of error characteristics. Future research should involve non-word repetition tasks across various speech and language disorder groups to further validate these methods, offering valuable data for the assessment and treatment of these disorders.

Recognition and Evaluation of Efficient Language Analysis Unit for Korean (한국어에서 실용적 언어분석 단위의 인식과 평가)

  • In this paper, we observe the differences between linguistic and computational aspect in the automatic processing of languages which are dominant representation method for information in the Internet. For efficient information retrieval, information extraction and machine translation from the massive documents, we investigate analysis units for morphology analysis, syntactic analysis and semantic analysis. and propose the syntactic longest analysis unit rather than morphological unit based on linguistics. Also, by evaluating with massive documents, we show that the proposed analysis units can be used for the constraint which can reduce the ambiguity occurring in the language processing.

  • 차세대정보컴퓨팅 개발사업 협의회에서 주최하고 한국어 정보처리 원천기술 연구개발 사업단에서 주관하는 2018 차세정 언어처리 경진대회가 개최되었다. "한국어 자동 띄어쓰기"와 "한국어 복합명사 분해"의 두 태스크로 진행되었고 각각 4팀, 2팀이 참가하였다. 주최 측에서 제공한 데이터만을 활용하는 closed 트랙과 각 참가팀이 추가 데이터를 활용하는 open 트랙으로 구분하여 평가하였다.

Auditory and Language Training Service Model and Serious Game Contents Design for the hearing-impaired (청각장애인을 위한 청능훈련 서비스모델 및 기능성 게임콘텐츠 설계)

  • Auditory and language train for the hearing-impaired is an essential course improving conversational capability with non-deaf and accompanying the financial burden and the physical fatigue of parents or a teacher. To reduce these problems, web-based training contents have been developed. But these contents have been developed without consideration of individual difference such as various levels of residual hearing and the learning capability of hearing-impaired. Therefore, it is important that appropriate training progress for each hearing-impaired should be designed by evaluating and analyzing the personal status, residual hearing, learning capability and training achievement. This paper suggests auditory and language training service model for the hearing-impaired, which is planning and managing an auditory and learning training based on personal evaluation. In addition, this paper suggests a design method for a serious game content planing based on this service model.
