  • Ubiquitous Computing owes Internet and development of computer network and appeared. RFID (Radio frequency Identification) technology is noted by point technology to realize this. However, PML that present in Auto-lD Center is defined point part to describe information of object, and necessary part is to use defining extension separately in actuality application. So that can define object type that can be used for electron tag data processing in RFID application service because do fetters to Auto-lD Center's PML Core in this treatise hereupon and apply in physical distribution circulation service field, designed object information data model.

  • Cellular phones have been popularized and some of them even have access to the Internet. But the utilization of mobile phones has not been for education but only focused on particular services due to the text-based low capacity. This thesis proposes a multimedia education system using cell phones with SMIL. We can decrease the size of the parser and refute the resources of CPU by designing SMIL tag only, which is needed for multimedia education. In addition, the macro method for producing information for lectures will make possible decreased transmission quantity of multimedia contents and increased transmission efficiency. This will lead to overcoming the matter of insufficient CPU and memory, which is common to most mobile phone terminals.

A Path Partitioning Technique for Indexing XML Data (XML 데이타 색인을 위한 경로 분할 기법)

  • Query languages for XML use paths in a data graph to represent queries. Actually, paths in a data graph are used as a basic constructor of an XML query. User can write more expressive Queries by using Patterns (e.g. regular expressions) for paths. There are many identical paths in a data graph because of the feature of semi-structured data. Current researches for indexing XML utilize identical paths in a data graph, but such an index can grow larger than source data graph and cannot guarantee efficient access path. In this paper we propose a partitioning technique that can partition all the paths in a data graph. We develop an index graph that can find appropriate partitions for a path query efficiently. The size of our index graph can be adjusted regardless of the source data. So, we can significantly improve the cost for index graph traversals. In the performance study, we show our index much faster than other graph based indexes.

  • Most approaches for extracting hypernyms of a noun from its definitions in an MRD rely on lexical patterns compiled by human experts. Not only these approaches require high cost for compiling lexical patterns but also it is very difficult for human experts to compile a set of lexical patterns with a broad-coverage because in natural languages there are various expressions which represent same concept. To alleviate these problems, this paper proposes a new method for extracting hypernyms of a noun from its definitions in an MRD. In proposed approach, we use only syntactic (part-of-speech) patterns instead of lexical patterns in identifying hypernyms to reduce the number of patterns with keeping their coverage broad. Our experiment has shown that the classification accuracy of the proposed method is 92.37% which is significantly much better than that of previous approaches.

  • With the rapid development of wired or wireless Internet, various kinds of resource constrained mobile devices, such as cellular phone, PDA, homepad, smart phone, handhold PC, and so on, have been emerging into personal or commercial usages. Most software to be embedded into those devices has been forced to have the characteristic of flexibility rather than the fixedness which was an inherent property of embedded system. It means that recent technologies require the flexible embedding into the variety of resource constrained mobile devices. A document processor for XML which has been positioned as a standard mark-up language for information representation on the Web, is one of the essential software to be embedded into those devices for browsing the information. In this paper, a framework for configurable XML processor called EmXJ is designed and implemented for flexible embedding into various types of resource constrained mobile devices, and its advantages are compared to conventional XML processors.

  • This article intends to shed a light on the British architect Arthur S. Dixon (1856-1929). He is largely regarded as a pioneer of the English Art and Craft Movement, yet his works are not widely known nor carefully studied. In search of Dixon's architectural characteristics, this paper examined three notable buildings that he designed at the turn of the nineteenth century; Birmingham Guildhall, St. Andrews church and St. Basil's Church. These buildings were erected relatively early in his career as an architect, although he never fully immersed into the profession due to his commitment in family business management. His architectural design shows unique qualities of Art and Craft movement in terms of use of material, spatial arrangement, techniques, and craftsmanship while employing Romanesque as most relevant historic style for ecclesiastical purposes.

  • Due to COVID-19, the importance of non-face-to-face counseling is increasing as the face-to-face counseling method has progressed to non-face-to-face counseling. The advantage of non-face-to-face counseling is that it can be consulted online anytime, anywhere and is safe from COVID-19. However, it is difficult to understand the client's mind because it is difficult to communicate with non-verbal expressions. Therefore, it is important to recognize emotions by accurately analyzing text and voice in order to understand the client's mind well during non-face-to-face counseling. Therefore, in this paper, text data is vectorized using FastText after separating consonants, and voice data is vectorized by extracting features using Log Mel Spectrogram and MFCC respectively. We propose a multi-emotion recognition model that recognizes five emotions using vectorized data using an LSTM model. Multi-emotion recognition is calculated using RMSE. As a result of the experiment, the RMSE of the proposed model was 0.2174, which was the lowest error compared to the model using text and voice data, respectively.

Korean Traditional Music Melody Generator using Artificial Intelligence (인공지능을 이용한 국악 멜로디 생성기에 관한 연구)

  • In the field of music, various AI composition methods using machine learning have recently been attempted. However, most of this research has been centered on Western music, and little research has been done on Korean traditional music. Therefore, in this paper, we will create a data set of Korean traditional music, create a melody using three algorithms based on the data set, and compare the results. Three models were selected based on the similarity between language and music, LSTM, Music Transformer and Self Attention. Using each of the three models, a melody generator was modeled and trained to generate melodies. As a result of user evaluation, the Self Attention method showed higher preference than the other methods. Data set is very important in AI composition. For this, a Korean traditional music data set was created, and AI composition was attempted with various algorithms, and this is expected to be helpful in future research on AI composition for Korean traditional music.

Characteristics of Plastic Concept of Minimalism in Comtemporary Landscape Design (현대조경설계에서 미니멀리즘의 조형개념 특성)

  • In landscape architecture, the pursuit of pluralism requires diverse expression based on cultural and philosophical differences. Landscape architects impart social purposes and spatial relationships to the contemporary generation by providing particular environments that reflect the culture of the day. Particularly, landscape architects reflect contemporary art in their design works and express the characteristics of the arts of the day in real spaces. Historically they have sought motives from all fields of art. The plastic concept in landscape design is based specifically on paintings that directly influence spatial composition. Minimalism in landscape architecture contributes to the formation of artistic characteristics that can be explained to improve artistry in landscapes as aesthetic objects, which were eliminated in the modernist era, and to realize contemporary art. By interpretively studying design works, therefore, this study reveals plastic concepts' influence on landscape design affected by minimalist art. The characteristics of plastic concepts in minimalist landscape design can be summarized as follows. First, the reduction of Minimalist Landscape is meant for viewers to immediately understand a work's identity and to easily perceive its intention by using design language implied by the pure geometric forms such as circles, triangles and squares. Second, the extension intends to seek internal order by connecting design elements mutually and externally to provide visual direction by adopting linear expression. Third, the flatness that defines meaningless space tends to overlay additional elements on a flattened site to induce the perception of a sequence of landscapes and to patternize pavement to improve its visual image. Finally, seriality has two characteristics: to make centrality in space and to compose by repeating formative elements and materials based on the pursuit of a site's totality, rather than an individual space's originality.

A Study on Performance Evaluation of Hidden Markov Network Speech Recognition System (Hidden Markov Network 음성인식 시스템의 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we carried out the performance evaluation of HM-Net(Hidden Markov Network) speech recognition system for Korean speech databases. We adopted to construct acoustic models using the HM-Nets modified by HMMs(Hidden Markov Models), which are widely used as the statistical modeling methods. HM-Nets are carried out the state splitting for contextual and temporal domain by PDT-SSS(Phonetic Decision Tree-based Successive State Splitting) algorithm, which is modified the original SSS algorithm. Especially it adopted the phonetic decision tree to effectively express the context information not appear in training speech data on contextual domain state splitting. In case of temporal domain state splitting, to effectively represent information of each phoneme maintenance in the state splitting is carried out, and then the optimal model network of triphone types are constructed by in the parameter. Speech recognition was performed using the one-pass Viterbi beam search algorithm with phone-pair/word-pair grammar for phoneme/word recognition, respectively and using the multi-pass search algorithm with n-gram language models for sentence recognition. The tree-structured lexicon was used in order to decrease the number of nodes by sharing the same prefixes among words. In this paper, the performance evaluation of HM-Net speech recognition system is carried out for various recognition conditions. Through the experiments, we verified that it has very superior recognition performance compared with the previous introduced recognition system.
