Basic Experiment on Rehabilitation of Upper-Limb Motor Function Using Haptic-Device System (햅틱 장치를 이용한 상지 운동기능 장애인의 재활치료에 관한 기초 실험)

  • Rehabilitation exercises must maintain a patient's interest and permit a quantitative evaluation of the rehabilitation. We have developed a haptic-device system. When users move a grip, the haptic device provides a virtual force that either assists the movement of their arm or working against it. To investigate the functional effect of this system in a rehabilitation program, we used for five subjects with motor-function disorders and measured the grip position, velocity, force exerted on the grip, and EMG activities during a reaching task of one subject. The accuracy of the grip position, velocity and trajectories patterns were similar for all the subjects. The results suggested that the EMG activities were improved by applying the virtual force to the grip. These results can be used for the development of rehabilitation programs and evaluation methods.

A Multivariate Analysis of Korean Professional Players Salary (한국 프로스포츠 선수들의 연봉에 대한 다변량적 분석)

  • We analyzed Korean professional basketball and baseball players salary under the assumption that it depends on the personal records and contribution to the team in the previous year. We extensively used data visualization tools to check the relationship among the variables, to find outliers and to do model diagnostics. We used multiple linear regression and regression tree to fit the model and used cross-validation to find an optimal model. We check the relationship between variables carefully and chose a set of variables for the stepwise regression instead of using all variables. We found that points per game, number of assists, number of free throw successes, career are important variables for the basketball players. For the baseball pitchers, career, number of strike-outs per 9 innings, ERA, number of homeruns are important variables. For the baseball hitters, career, number of hits, FA are important variables.

A Study of Aggressive Driver Detection Combining Machine Learning Model and Questionnaire Approaches (기계학습 모델과 설문결과를 융합한 공격적 성향 운전자 탐색 연구)

  • In this paper, correlation analysis was performed between questionnaire and machine learning based aggressive tendency measurements. this study is part of a aggressive driver detection using machine learning and questionnaire. To collect two types tendency from questionnaire and measurements system, we constructed experiments environments and acquired the data from 30 drivers. In experiment, the machine learning based aggressive tendency measurements system was designed using a driver behavior detection model. And the model was constructed using accelerate and brake position data and hidden markov model method through supervised learning. We performed a correlation analysis between two types tendency using Pearson method. The result was represented to high correlation. The results will be utilize for fusing questionnaire and machine learning. Furthermore, It is verified that the machine learning based aggressive tendency is unique to each driver. The aggressive tendency of driver will be utilized as measurements for advanced driver assistance system such as attention assist, driver identification and anti-theft system.

Estimating the determinants of victory and defeat through analyzing records of Korean pro-basketball (한국남자프로농구 경기기록 분석을 통한 승패결정요인 추정: 2010-2011시즌, 2011-2012시즌 정규리그 기록 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the determinants of victory and defeat through analyzing records of Korean men pro-basketball. Statistical models of victory and defeat were established by collecting present basketball records (2010-2011, 2011-2012 season). Korea Basketball League (KBL) informs records of every pro-basketball game data. The six offence variables (2P%, 3P%, FT%, OR, AS, TO), and the four defense variables (DR, ST, GD, BS) were used in this study. PASW program was used for logistic regression and Answer Tree program was used for the decision tree. All significance levels were set at .05. Major results were as follows. In the logistic regression, 2P%, 3P%, and TO were three offense variables significantly affecting victory and defeat, and DR, ST, and BS were three significant defense variables. Offensive variables 2P%, 3P%, TO, and AS are used in constructing the decision tree. The highest percentage of victory was 80.85% when 2P% was in 51%-58%, 3P% was more than 31 percent, and TO was less than 11 times. In the decision tree of the defence variables, the highest percentage of victory was 94.12% when DR was more than 24, ST was more than six, and BS was more than two times.

Change of Refractive Index and Residual Stresses of Ta2O5 Thin Film Prepared by Dual Ion Beam Sputtering Deposition as the Substrate Temperature and Assist ion Beam Energy (이중 이온빔으로 제작한 Ta2O5 박막의 기판 온도 및 보조 이온빔 에너지에 따른 굴절률과 판류응력의 변화)

  • The optical properties and intrinsic stress of $Ta_{2}O_{5}$ thin films deposited by Dual ion-Beam Sputtering: (DIBS) and Single ion-Beam Sputtering (SIBS) were studied as a function of the substrate temperature and assist ion beam voltage. The refractive index showed the maximum value (n = 2.144) at $150^{circ}C$ in the SIBS process. When the substrate temperature has above $150^{circ}C$ in the SIBS process the refractive index decreased. In the DIBS process, the increase of the substrate temperature affected the increase of the refractive index at a maximum value (n = 2.1117, at $200^{circ}C$). The low temperature process $(<100^{circ}C)$ can greatly reduce residual stress with the assist ion gun, but the high temperature process was unaffected. As the assist ion beam voltage increase from 250 to 350 V the refractive index increased to 2.185. However, the refractive index was decreased at the range of 350-650 V, As the assist ion beam voltage increased, the stress of the deposited film decreased to 0.1834 GPa at 650 V.

  • This study was conducted seven times from 2007 to the 2019 Women's World Handball Championships to analyze and strengthen the strength of the Korean women's handball team through the analysis of the top five countries' strengths. Among the 41 national teams participating in the World Women's Handball Championship, a total of five national teams, including the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Spain, and France, were selected for the final study. Among the records provided by the International Handball Federation (IHF), the ranking was selected by analyzing the competition records of 41 participating countries, and technical statistics and frequency analysis were conducted using the SPSS/PC+ Ver21.0 program. based on the accumulated records of the top five women's handball competitions, handball attack and defense strategies that can make up for the inferiority in future physical conditions are needed and detailed follow-up studies are needed. Also, we hope to use it as a basic resource for improving the performance of Korean women's handball players and to play a key role in enhancing the level of women's handball at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

  • In order to evaluate the performance of TAS applied to the hybrid vehicle of the soft belt driven, acceleration performance and fuel consumption performance is to be superior to the existing vehicle. The key components of belt driven TAS(Torque Assist System), such as the engine, the motor and the battery, The key components of the driven belt TAS, such as the engine, the motor, and the battery, have a significant impact on fuel consumption performance of the vehicle. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency at the point of view based on the overall system, the study of the power distribution algorithm for controlling the main source powers is necessary. In this paper, we propose the power distribution algorithm, applied the homogeneous analysis method in terms of fuel equivalent, for minimizing the fuel consumption. We have confirmed that the proposed algorithm is contribute to improving the fuel consumption performance satisfied the constraints considering the vehicle status information and the required power through the control parameters to minimize the fuel consumption of the engine. The optimization process of the proposed driving strategy can reduce the trial and error in the research and development process and monitor the characteristics of the control parameter quickly and accurately. Therefore, it can be utilized as a way to derive the operational strategy to minimize the fuel consumption.

The identification of optimal data range for the discrimination between won and lost

  • Performance indicators have often investigated and developed in order to identify foundational elements and factors for an enhancement of performance in sports. In order to identify the valid performance indicators it is important that the indicators used within a performance analysis system discriminate between the winning and losing performances within a match (Hughes and Bartlett, 2002). However, the performance indicators proposed in research studies on basketball performance have not been used for real-time analysis and feedback within a coaching context. Such real-time support for the coach and players has been described within research on other sports (Choi et al., 2004; O'Donoghue, 2001; Palmer et al., 1997). Within the process of real-time feedback, the identification of relevant performance indicators that distinguish winning and losing performances should be the first stage of the development of a real-time analysis system. Therefore, this study investigated the differences between winning and losing teams in terms of a set of performance indicators gathered during the analysis of 10 English National Basketball League matches. Winning and losing teams were compared using whole match data (N=10) as well as individual quarters (N=40). A series of Wilcoxon Signed Ranks tests was used to identify the relevant performance indicators that discriminate between winning and losing performers within whole matches and individual quarters. The tests found that 3 point shots made (p<0.05) and Assists (p<0.05) were significantly different between winning and losing teams within matches. However, 2 point shots made (p<0.05), 2 point shots attempted (P<0.05), percentages of 2 point shots scored (p<0.05), 3 point shots made (p<0.05), Defensive Rebounds (p<0.05) and Assists (p<0.05) were significantly different between winning and losing performance within quarters. The analysis task should be based on relevant performance indicators which explain the current performances to performance analysts and coaches. Within a real-time analysis and feedback scenario, this will have the additional benefit of supporting a decision based on immediate performance within the most recent quarter. Consequently, the real-time analysis system would use performance indicators which have the property of construct validity to support the decisions of the coach.
