The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between mothers' parenting efficacy and parenting behaviors, home environment, and preschool children's learning behaviors. The participants consisted of 244 preschool children and their mothers in Seoul and GyeongGi-Do. The children's teachers rated the learning behaviors of each child whose mother returned our questionnaire. The collected data were subjected to general descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's productive correlation. Results showed that learning behaviors of preschool children were affected by their sex, age, and mother's education. In addition, there were negative relationships between mothers' parenting efficacy, parenting behaviors, and learning behaviors of preschool children.

This study investigated the relationships among marital conflict, child-rearing stress, and affection-rejection parenting for mothers of preschoolers. The subjects were 208 mothers who lived with at least one preschooler in Daegu or Gyeongbuk Province. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, and single and multiple regression, using SPSS Win 15.0. The results were as follows. (1) Mothers' marital conflict was negatively associated with affection parenting. However, the negative influence of mothers' marital conflict on affection parenting was mediated by child-rearing stress. (2) Mothers' marital conflict was positively associated with rejection parenting. However, the positive influence of mothers' marital conflict on rejection parenting was partially mediated by child-rearing stress.

이 연구는 한국계 이민자 가정과 백인가정 사이의 부모의 행동적 심리적 통제와 아동의 정서적 행복감에 관한 차이를 알아보기 위해 실시하였다. 미국 시애틀 지역의 8에서 9세 사이의 자녀를 둔 31한국계 가정과 31백인 가정이 연구에 참여하였다. 각 각의 부모들과 자녀들에게 질문지를 실시하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. Acceptance/rejection and control 질문지 결과는 한국계 이민자 가정의 아버지들이 백인 아버지들보다 자녀들에게 전반적으로 더 많은 통제와 공격적 양육태도를 보여주었다. Child Regulation Index결과, 한국계 어머니들도 자녀들에게 더 많은 행동조절 지시를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해 아동들의 심리내적인 정서를 알아보기 위해 실시한 Reynolds child depression scale에서 한국계 이민자 가정 아동들이 백인 부모의 자녀들보다 자기 자신에 대해 덜 행복하게 느끼고 있음을 보고하였다. 특히 전체적으로 어머니들의 통제가 아동의 심리내적 정서와 관계가 있음이 확인되었고, 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 부모의 심리적 행동적 통제와 아동의 정서적 행복감에 대해 논의하였다.

This study focused on the importance of the attachment/caregiving system at a dyadic level, and examined relationships between maternal representations of caregiving, maternal caregiving behavior, and child attachment. Seventy-five middle-class mothers and their preschool children(ages 3-4) participated in the study. Results indicated a strong correspondence between maternal representations of caregiving and maternal caregiving behavior at the secure/insecure and ordered/disordered level. The correspondence between maternal representations of caregiving and their preschooler's attachment, and between maternal caregiving behavior and their preschooler's attachment at the secure/insecure level were also strong. The correspondence between maternal representations of caregiving and their preschooler's attachment was mediated by maternal caregiving behavior.

본 연구는 자녀가치의 매개효과를 중심으로 어머니의 원가족 경험이 양육태도에 미치는 영향을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 만3세-5세 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 247명을 대상으로 원가족 경험, 양육태도, 자녀가치 척도로 구성된 질문지를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 원가족 경험은 자녀가치에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 둘째, 어머니의 자녀가치 역시 양육행동에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 원가족 경험은 양육태도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자녀가치는 원가족 경험과 양육태도 간 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 원가족 경험에 대한 긍정적 인식이 높을수록 긍정적 자녀가치를 갖게되고, 자녀가치는 곧 양육태도에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 긍정적 자녀가치를 형성할 수 있는 다각적 방안과 체계적인 지원이 필요하며 공동양육자인 아버지에 대한 고찰이 필요하다.
