Rust of Belamcanda chinensis Caused by Puccinia belamcandae (Puccinia belamcandae에 의한 범부체 녹병)

  • Rust disease was occurred on blackberry lily (Belamcanda chinensis) in several farmer's fields located in Heohwa-myon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam province in Korea. The typical symptoms of the disease appeared as small, yellowish spot on leaves at first. The spots then turned brown, their edges rised slightly, and powdery mass of yellow or yellowish green spores appeared on the lesions. Severely infected leaves were blighted and eventually died. Urediniospores were yellow or yellowish brown in color, globoid to ovoid in shape and $21{\sim}46{\times}18{\sim}38\;{\mu}m$ in size. Teliospores were brown in color, oblong or clavate in shape and $32{\sim}64{\times}12{\sim}26\;{\mu}m$ in size. The causal fungus was identified as Puccinia belamcandae based on morphological characteristics and host specificity. This is the first report on the rust of B. chinensis caused by P. belamcandae in Korea.

Natural Dyeing Fabrics with Serratuls coronate var. insularis Kitamura (산비장이(Serratuls coronate var. insularis Kitamura)를 이용한 직물의 천연염색)

  • In this thesis, we took some stalks, flowers, and leaves of the Serratuls coronate var. insularis which are able to propagate as mass n our wild to extract the dyeing solution, and cotton and silk were dyed using them in many different conditions. Silk was dyed darker than cotton. We found there was not a big difference between silk and cotton in the given condition considering 'Y' values vs. dyeing temperature. There was a rapid decreasing of 'Y' values after one to two hours and almost all of dyeing was completed at these times. We found there was a dyeing acceleration at the higher dyeing density and the lower 'Y' value. If the density was low, dyeing attachment was reduced by dyeing ability via the density of liquid in both plants. Silk was affected higher by mordant dyes in both plants. Fe and Cu had an effect by mordant dyes slightly an Serratuls coronate var. insularis.

  • The goal of this study was to investigate the microbiological characteristics of the ethanol-producing wild yeast, Aureobasidium pullulans P-1, isolated from flowers growing near the Yedang reservoir, Chungnam province, Korea, and in addition, to optimize its fermentation ability for the production of Makgeolli. A. pullulans P-1 was oval-shaped, and formed ascospores and pseudomycelium. The P-1 strain was a halophilic and sugar tolerant yeast which grew in 15% NaCl and 50% glucose-containing yeast extract-peptone-dextrose media. The P-1 strain was also resistant to 20% ethanol. Changes of the physicochemical properties during Makgeolli fermentation by A. pullulans P-1 were investigated. A maximum of 8.45% ethanol was obtained when a mixture of cooked rice, 150% water, and 35% ipguk per cooked rice was fermented by 5% A. pullulans P-1 culture broth at $25^{\circ}C$ for 10 days. Antihypertensive angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory activity in the Makgeolli ferment produced by A. pullulans P-1 reached a high of 71.1% after 10 days.

  • 관상용, 식용 및 약용으로도 이용되는 석죽목 석죽과의 여러해살이풀인 오랑캐장구채는 국내에서는 중부 이북지방의 유용 자생식물로 조경산업에의 이용가치가 크나, 이용성 증대 등을 위한 재배기술은 미흡하다. 지피식물용 재배조건의 구축을 위하여 2017년 7월 31일부터 10월 9일까지 약 10주간 본 연구를 수행하였다. 실험재료로 종자에서 육묘한 유묘를 사용하였으며, 유묘의 소질, 이식조건 및 재배관리에 대한 생육의 영향을 조사하였다. 유묘의 소질로는 162구 트레이에서 cell당 4립씩 파종하여 육묘된 유묘가 초장 및 건물중이 높았고, 특히 4립 파종구는 마디수를 제외한 생육량이 다른 처리구에 비해 유의적으로 큰 차이가 있었다. 경제성을 고려할 때, 상토는 혼합비료(N-P-K) $300-200-200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$가 첨가된 마사토:피트모스(3:1) 혼용토를 충진한 처리구가 효과적이었다. 또한, 코트비료의 기비처리는 포트당 20알 처리구에서 지하부 생체중이 무거웠으나, 엽면적 등 다른 생육량을 고려할 때 기비하지 않은 처리가 효과적이다. 재배관리에 있어서 차광처리는 습기 등의 환경에 약한 유묘의 특성상 차광하지 않고 배치하는 것이 모든 생육량이 높았다. 이식 후에는 추비처리를 하는 것이 효과적이며, 추비농도는 엽수 등을 고려할 때 $500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ hyponex이 적합하였다.

A Study on Utilization of Mixed Wild Flowers as a Silage Materials (Silage 재료로서 혼합 야생화의 이용에 관한 연구)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the quality of wild flowers and mixed wild flower silages. Silage materials employed ochardgrass and mixed wild flower (orchardgrass, white clover, Achillea sibirica Ledeb., Coreopsistinctoria Nutt., Rudbeckiabicolor Nutt., Centaureacyanus L.). Six kilograms of silage materials cut from each treatment were divided into 3 containers, packed by vacuum, and fermented for 40 days. The orchardgrass silage showed significantly higher contents of crude protein than that of mixed wild flower silage. But the neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber contents of orchardgrass silage were significantly lower than those of mixed wild flower silage. pH and butyric acid of orchardgrass silage were significantly lower than those of mixed wild flower silage, and significantly higher in lactic acid contents. It appears that water soluble carbohydrates needs to be supplemented, being grounded on the results above, into wild flower materials both with high fiber materials and with low substances which need lactic acid fermentation.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the combination of proper culture medium for differentiation culture of Chrysanthemum zawadskii var. latilobum KITAMURA. The combinations of culture medium were consisted with an inorganic materials such as vermiculite, perlite, saprolite, sand and upland top soil, and with an organic materials such as peat-moss, leaf mold and compost. For the plant growth characteristics, the plant height, number of tiller, root length and root weight in the combination of leaf mold was relatively great as compared to the treatment with peat-moss and compost. It was considered that humus might be contributed to improve the physical properties of soil as well as the sequential nutrient supply. For the combination of peat-moss, the plant growth was not good because of not sufficient nutrient supply, Also, the plant growth in the treatment of compost was so bad because of enhancement of culture medium pH 8.9 and increasement of phosphorous content.

Isolation and Physiological Functionality of Yeasts from Wild Flowers in Seonyudo of Gogunsanyeoldo, Jeollabuk-do, Korea (전라북도 고군산열도의 선유도 일대 야생화들로부터 효모의 분리 및 생리기능성)

  • Sixty one yeast strains of 21 species were isolated from wild flowers in Gogunsanyeoldo, including Seonyudo of Jeollabuk-do, Korea, and identified by comparison of nucleotide sequences for PCR-amplified D1/D2 region of 26S rDNA using BLAST. Among them, Cryptococcus sp. including C. aureus SY1-4 were found to be dominant, and Metschnikowia sp. including M. reukaufii SY20-1 and Rhodotnula sp. such as R. ingeniosa SY1-1 were also abundantly isolated. Some physiological functionalities of the culture broth and cell-free extracts from 61 yeast strains were determined. Supernatant from Metschnilowia reukaufii SY44-6 showed anti-gout xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity of 49.6% and whitening tyrosinase inhibitory activity of 38.4%, respectively.

  • 4231년 농림부산림국에서 송충구제책으로 경기도 임업시험장에서 인공배양한 No.7호균외 수종을 사용할 계획인바 비에 대한 임업시험장 시험보고에 의하면 핵균은 송충에 대하여 맹독성이지마는 잠아에 대하여서는 기독성이 경미하다는 보고 이였으므로 양잠가에 대한 의문을 풀기 위하여 송충 및 잠아에 대한 전염성의 강약을 비교 시험하여 그 독성정도를 구명코저 함. 1. 경기도 임업시험장 연구보고 제1호에 기재된 No.7 호균의 시험성적과 본시험성적과를 대조하면 그 이병률은 일정한 경향을 표시치 않으며 다소 상치된 결과이었다. 즉 별표에 의하면 송충은 72~100% 잠아에 있어서는 4289년도에 0~2% 4290년도이 0~20%였으나 본시험결과 (표 1,2,3)는 송충은 표준구에 6.6% 처리구에 13.3~20%이고 잠아는 5~50%의 이병률이였다. 따라서 송충에는 그 감염도가 높으며 잠아는 그 감염도자 낮다고하는 근거를 인정키 난하다. 2. 본시험에 공시된 접종균 No.7호균은 경기도 임업시험장에서 호칭하는 황황강균(Insarica farinosa)이 었으나 핵균 배양시에 이균이 침입된 관계인지는 모르나 본시험에서 폐사를 검정한 결과 백강균(Botrytis Bassiana)이였다. 따라서 No.7호균에 대한 순도가 의심되며 시험결과의 정확을 기할수가없었다. 3. 경기도 임업시험장연구보고 제1호에 접수된 양년간시검성적에 의하면 경화병균 28종중 가장 이병률이 낮다고하는 No.7호균이 본시험결과에서 잠아에 5~50%의 이병률을 나타내는것으로 보아 소위 경기도 임업시험장에서 순수분리한 균은 어느것이라도 송충에 접종하여 산지에 산포하면 그 균이 중간기생 (인교목, 직교목)을 통하여 야생화되어서 더욱 잠아에 대한 전염력을 강렬하게됨으로 양잠상 위험할것이다. 일본의 소산씨 문헌(경기도 임업시험장도서관)에 의하면 야생혼충에서 전염되는 경화병균의 독성은 잠아에 대하여 강력하다는 점과 $\ulcorner$잠업지조선$\lrcorner$제11호에 전라남도 원잠종제조소 강본태대랑씨의 시험성적(참고문헌)이 이를 여실히 입증하는 바이다.   • The effect of cultural media and growth regulators on multiple plant regeneration from leaf explants of Heloniopsis orientalis (Thunb.) Tanaka was evaluated. The highest percentage of shoot and root formation were 20 and 30% on MS medium treated at 3.0 mg $l^{-1}$ of zeatin, respectively. Also 67 and 33% of high shoot formation appeared on 1/2 MS and 5 culture medium treated at zeatin 1.0 and 3.0 mg $l^{-1}$ respectively. With MS treated at 0.5 mg $l^{-1}$ of 2,4-D 1/2 MS and B5 culture media treated at each 1.0 and 3.0 mg $l^{-1}$ of zeatin the highest ratios of plant produced were 100, 280 and 310 % respectively relative to the other treatments. Generally, there was highest possibility for multiple propagation of Heloniopsis orientalis (Thunb.) C. Tanaka with B5 culture media supplemented 3.0 mg $l^{-1}$ of zeatin.
