균질혼합압축점화기관에서 n-부탄 연료의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of n-Butane for a Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Engine)

  • This paper describes the characteristics of n-Butane fuel for the homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine for a new concept. HCCI engines are being considered as a future alternative for diesel and gasoline engines. From the experimental observations, the effect of n-Butane fuel in HCCI engine on CO, HC and NOx are analysed. The objective of this paper is to clear the effects of equivalence ratio and inlet temperature with n-Butane on the HCCI. For this purpose, a 4-cylinder, compression ignition engine was converted into a HCCI engine This work has been run with n-butane fuel at a constant speed.

수소첨가 CNG기관의 성능 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance and Emission Characteristics with Hydrogen Enrichment in a CNG Engine)

  • Recent research has focused on alternative fuel to improve engine performance and to comply with emission regulation. Finding an alternative fuel and reducing environment pollution are the main goals for future internal combustion engines. The purpose of this study is to obtain low-emission and high-efficiency by hydrogen enriched CNG fuel in SI engine and is to clarify the effects of hydrogen enrichment in CNG fuelled engine on exhaust emission and performance. An experimental study was carried out to obtain fundamental data for performance and emission characteristics of hydrogen enrichment in SI engine. The experiment was conducted at 2500 rpm, bmep 2 bar, 4 bar conditions while CNG fuel was mixed with 10, 20 and 30% hydrogen blends. From the experimental results, combustion duration was shortened due to rapid flame propagation velocity of hydrogen and these were attributed to the burning velocity increasing exponentially with increasing hydrogen blending ratio. Hydrogen has much wider flammable limit than methane, gasoline and the minimum ignition energy is about an order of magnitude lower than for other combustion. By adding hydrogen, $CO_2$ and HC were reduced. However, $NO_X$ was increased dut to high rate of heat release for hydrogen substitutions.

  • 본 논문은 R290, R600a, R1270과 같은 탄화수소계 냉매를 사용하는 냉동사이클의 효율에 대한 흡입관 열교환기의 영향을 고려하였다. 이러한 흡입관 열교환기는 냉동시스템의 성능을 향상시킬 수도 있지만, 성능을 저하시킬 수도 있다. 본 논문에서는 흡입관 열교환기를 가진 냉동사이클의 성능 특성을 파악하기 위해서 정상상태의 수학적 모델을 사용하였다. 그리고 탄화수소계 냉매유량, 흡입관 열교환기의 내관 직경, 길이, 유용도 등과 같은 운전조건의 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과는 흡입관 열교환기의 내관 직경, 길이, 유용도, 탄화수소계 냉매의 질량유량은 냉동사이클의 상대냉동능력지수, 냉동능력, 압축일량에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이러한 영향을 상세히 파악하여, 흡입관 열교환기를 설치한 탄화수소계 냉매용 증기압축식 냉동사이클을 설계할 필요가 있다.

  • The reciprocating type hydrogen compressor has a pulsation due to the reciprocative characteristics which results in noise and vibration. Snubber is installed for the relaxation of pulsation, but it causes reduction of compressor efficiency because of pressure loss. Five types of snubber were modeled for the numerical investigation of the effect of the relative position of inlet and outlet and buffer angle on the pulsation amplitude and pressure loss. MSC/NASTRAN is used as a numerical tool to identify the vibration characteristic of each type. Frequency responses in forced vibration mode are compared for various cases and buffer angles.

  • Coal oil is widely used as a home heating fuel for portable and installed coal oil heaters. Today, Coal oil is widely used as fuel for jet engines and some rocket engines in several grades. This paper describes the performance characteristics according to the compression ratio of spark ignition engine fuelled with coal oil. As a result, the following knowledge is obtained: As the compression ratio is decreased, there is an increase in torque, indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP), heat release rate, and brake thermal efficiency. Higher compression ratio of the engine decreases the ignition delay period, combustion period, and cooling loss.

  • In this work, a study for the reduction of the electric power consumption has been estimated in main air compressors in the air separation unit through cryogenic distillation columns with PRO/II with PROVISION V10.2 at AVEVA company. Both required LNG mass flow rate and cold heat contained in 1 ton of LNG were also predicted using Peng-Robinson equation of state with Twu's new alpha function. Through this work, we concluded that 32.33-48.69% of electric power could be saved by using LNG cold heat.

  • The reciprocating type hydrogen compressor is occurred by the pulsation from the mechanism and this pulsation is make much noise and vibration. Therefor snubber is installed for pulsation decreasing. The five type snubber models were designed for increasing pulsation amplitude reduction and decreasing pressure loss in snubber considering output pipe location as design value. And the pressure flued analysis is carried by CFD. In this paper, each type snubber according CFD result are analyzed by the MSC/NASTRAN to identify the vibration characteristic of each type. The vibration results are compared with CFD results.

  • There are several types of compressors which are appropriate for hydrogen gas station. Metal diaphragm type of hydrogen compressor is the one of them, a use in which satisfies the requirements of maintaining gas purity and producing high pressure over 700 bar. The objective of this study is to investigate an characteristics of compression as bulk modulus of oil varies. Three cases of bulk modulus ranging from $2{\times}10^9$, $4.52{\times}10^9$ and $7{\times}10^9$ were studied through FSI (Fluid Structure Interaction) analysis. Gas pressure, oil pressure and deflection degree of diaphragm were analysed during a certain period of compression process. Highest pressure and deflection were found in the condition of high bulk modulus of $7{\times}10^9$.

  • Diaphragm compressors are used for a hydrogen compression because it can achieve high gas pressure with high purity. But diaphragm's lifetime may depend on the shape of the cavity and deflection from fluctuation the pressure change, which is necessary to monitored. In this study, the gas and hydraulic oil pressure in the cavity were measured as piston speed varies for diaphragm compressor. The results show pressure change quantities were reduced and maximum pressure points are delayed as the piston moves faster. And the hydraulic pressure were elevated as gas pressure elevated. And the compression period was more faster than expansion period.
