多孔性 금속의 소성역학

  • 소결 금속(sintered metal)은 기공(pore)의 존재로 성형에 있어서 체적변화를 유발하므로 이제까지 사용되어오던 체적변화를 유발하므로 이제까지 사용되어오던 일반 소성이론(conventional plasticity theory)은 적용할 수 없기 때문에 소결금속에 대한 소성이론을 정립해 오고 있다. 그 발달 과정을 보면 미국과 일본에서 각각 독자적인 방법으로 진행되었는데 미국에서는 Kuhn씨가 포아숀 비(.nu.)를 정의하여 실험적으로 구하고 이것을 기초로 하여 항복조건을 정립하고 응력과 변형도율과의 관계를 유도해 냄과 동시에 알루미늄 분말 소결원판 단조에 적용하여 그 실용성을 예시하였다. 한편 일본에서는 교오토오 대학의 Shima, Oyane등이 연구 정립한 것으로서 다공정 금속과 그 본금속의 항복 응력비와 정수압의 항복 응력에 대한 영향도를 정의하여 실험을 통하여 결정한 다음 항복조건을 만들고 이로부터 응력과 변형율과의 관계, 등가 변형율을 유도하였고 이를 폐금형 압축시험에 적용하였다.

  • A design system of dies for hot extrusion of structural shapes such as Z' s, L' s, T' s, U' s and H' s from aluminum alloys was developed in this study. The developed design system of dies is based of established die design rule system. The design rules for die design are obtained from the handbooks, plasticity theories and relevant references. The environment of the system is AutoCAD and AutoLISP, the graphic programming language was used for the configuration of the system. This system includes five major modules such as section shape design module, die opening number module. die opening layout module, die correction module and die bearing design module that are used to determine design variables. This system would be used to design of dies for hot extrusion from aluminum alloys and widely used in manufacturing course..

응고 시뮬레이션에 의한 박육 알루미늄 다이캐스팅 금형 방안의 최적화 (Optimization of the Thin-walled Aluminum Die Casting Die Design by Solidification Simulation)

  • Thin-walled die casting of aluminum notebook computer housing with less than 1mm thickness was investigated by using computational solidification simulation and actual casting experiment. Three different types of gate design, finger, tangential and split type, were used and the results showed that sound thin-walled die casting was possible with tangential and split type gating design because those gates allowed aluminum melt flowed into the thin-wall cavity uniformly and split type gating system was preferable gating design than tangential type at the point of view of soundness of casting and distortion generated after solidification. Also, solidification simulation agreed well with the actual die-casting and the casting showed no casting defect and distortion.

  • Recently, many researches on the development of super-hydrophobic and anti-reflective surfaces have been concentrated on the fabrication of nano-patterned products. The nano-patterned mold is a key to replicate nano-patterned products by mass production techniques such as injection molding and UV molding. The present paper proposes fabricating nano-patterned mold with cost-effective method. The nano-pattern molded was fabricated by electroforming the anodic aluminum oxide template without E-beam lithography. The final mold with nano-patterns showed the pores with the diameter of $100{\sim}120$ nm and the height of 150 nm was fabricated.

  • The RP&M (Rapid prototyping and Manufacturing) is the most appropriate technology for the small-lot production system, in which the production cycle is getting shorter owing to various needs from consumers. In this paper, RP&M is applied to a casting process. A casting process has a merit of being able to reflect complicated shapes at one time. But it has not been applied to the precision industry because of bad quality on surface. So we will improve characteristics of aluminum casting process using vacuum sealed casting process and porous ceramic mold which is made by slurry casting process.

알루미늄 합금의 중력금형주조 시 진공감압을 이용한 충전성 개선 (Improvement of Mold Filling in Aluminum Gravity Die Casting by Vacuum Suction)

  • Vacuum suction is applied to the mold during pouring in the inclined gravity die casting to remove defects such as misrun and gas porosity in the brake master cylinder. Casting defects are observed after solidification and their cause is analyzed by using the calculated results with commercial solidification and flow analysis code(ZCAST). The optimum vacuum suction is -2 cmHg, and when the start time of vacuum suction is 3 seconds after pouring, better filled result is obtained by holding it for 15 seconds. Reproducibility test under the optimum conditions attained from the above pouring tests is performed, and it is confirmed that these pouring conditions can be applied to the mass production immediately.

  • Recently, many researches on the development of super-hydrophobic surface have been concentrated on the fabrication of nano-patterned products. Nano-patterned mold is a key to replicate nano-patterned products by mass production process such as injection molding and UV molding. The present paper proposes the new fabricating method of nano-patterned mold at low cost. The nano-patterned mold was fabricated by electroforming the anodic aluminum oxide membrane filled with UV curable resin in nano-hole by capillary phenomenon. As a result, the final mold with nano-patterns which have the holes with the diameter of 100~200 nm was fabricated. Furthermore, the UV-molded products with clear nano- patterns which have the pillars with the diameter of 100~200nm were achieved.

  • We carry out non-steady state finite element simulation of a porthole extrusion process for manufacturing a radiation pipe under isothermal assumption. It is assumed that welding takes place at the moment that the material contacts the plane of symmetry. Welding phenomena are revealed by observing the contacting mechanism of the material passed through the portholes. It is emphasized that mesh density control and intelligent remeshing during welding process govern the solution accuracy and the program applicability. AFDEX 3D is employed.

  • The RP&M(Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing) is the most appropriate technology for the small-lot production system, in which the production cycle is getting shorter owing to various needs from consumers. Recently RP products which are made of plastics, wax, and paper are used to verify the design of samples. But these products cannot be applied to the real mold because the strength enough to be a mold cannot be given by soft materials such as plastics. So RP products are copied to AFR(Al powder Filled Resin) molds or metal molds, which is called the RP&M. In this paper, RP&M is applied to a casting process. A porous casting mold, which is made from ceramic powder and binder, is used for rapid tooling of aluminum shoes molds.

자동차용피스톤의 제조기술에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Manufacturing Technology of an Engine Piston)

  • In this paper, an experimental study has been carried out to develop an aluminum forged piston which has good mechanical properties. Through the experiment, the cavity filling, microstructure and mechanical properties of the final product are investigated with respect to chosen process parameters, which are die shape, heat-treatment condition and preform shape. The mechanical properties of the forged piston are compared with these of the cast piston. As the results, an appropriate die-shape is obtained to produce a perfect piston. The suitable heat-treatment condition and preform-shape are found to good hardness and minute microstructure in the forged piston. And we could obtain the mechanical properties(tensile strength, elongation and hardness) of the forged piston are superior to these of the cast piston.
