Effect of Solvent on the Dispersion Stability of CaCO3 Pigment (CaCO3 안료의 분산 안정성에 대한 용제의 영향)

  • The effect of solvent on the dispersion stability of $CaCO_3$ pigment in various solvents and resin solutions has been studied using Dynometer. Dispersion stability can be estimated in a relatively short time by means of Dynometer and the solubility parameter, ${\delta}$, of $CaCO_3$ determined from dispersion stability was 11.62(${\delta}_d=8.04$, ${\delta}_p=5.05$, ${\delta}_h=6.70$). The solvent showing weaker interaction with pigment increased the adsorption of resin on to the pigment, resulting in higher dispersion stability in resin solution. It was found that the rheological properties and dispersion stability of pigmented resin solution were depending strongly on the solvent added in small amount in the formulation.

Assessment of Channel Stability with Groynes (수제 설치에 의한 하도 안정성 평가)

  • This study investigates channel stabilities with groynes by developing the assessment of it and applying a 2-dimensional numerical model, which simulates flow and sediment transport with various flows in the channel. Evaluation inventories are composed of five items, which are width to depth ratio, sinuosity, bed slopes, velocities in the flow flied, Shields number with discharges and geomorphic characteristics in the study reach. The channel stability is evaluated by applying the evaluation indicators to the channel with and without groynes in the study reach between Dalseong-weir and Gangjeonggoryeong-weir in the Nakdong river. Width to depth ratio, sinuosity, and bed slopes, which are index of river characteristics, little affect the channel stability. However, velocities in the flow flied, and Shields number, which is dimensionless tractive, near the banks of the channel strongly affect the stability. The evaluation values of the stability in the channel on the left and right banks decrease as the number of groynes increase in both the left and right banks, which means that the bank stability increases with the groynes.

A Study on the Evaluation of Cosmetic Stability of Broccoli Extracts (브로콜리 추출물의 화장품 안정성 평가 연구)

  • This study compared antioxidant activity through DPPH radical scavenging activity of broccoli extract, low temperature (5℃ or less), and high temperature (50℃ or higher) storage conditions. As a result of the experiment, high DPPH radical scavenging activity of 95.5% was confirmed at 1% concentration of broccoli extract, and antioxidant power was maintained at a high level even under storage conditions due to temperature changes. Even cream containing 5% broccoli extract has been confirmed to maintain safety and stability in both preparation stability, discoloration and odor change, pH, and primary adhesion tests. Through these studies, it has been confirmed that broccoli extract is a safe and effective cosmetic material for the skin through high antioxidant activity and antioxidant power maintenance due to temperature changes.

  • While shield tunneling has demonstrated stability in international cases, the new Austrian tunneling method (NATM) encounters challenges in urban environments with shallow cover, weathered ground, and high groundwater levels. This paper introduces two typical collapse scenarios observed in urban areas, specifically within weathered bedrock and uncemented sandy soil layers. The collapses are analyzed using six stability evaluation methods, and the results are synthesized to assess the excavation face stability through a hexagonal diagram. The study finds a consistent agreement between the analysis results of the two collapsed tunnel sites and the evaluation outcomes. The employment of the stability evaluation diagram, a comprehensive method that considers the ground characteristics of the target tunnel, proves crucial for ensuring barrier stability during the tunnel design stage. This method is essential for a holistic evaluation, especially when addressing challenging ground conditions in urban settings.

Establishment of Tailing Disposal Scenario in Open-Pit and Surface Pillar Stability Analysis (노천채굴적 내 광미 적치 시나리오 구축 및 천반 수평필러 안정성 분석)

  • Utilization of completed open-pit for mining waste disposal is an alternative method of tailing storage facility (TSF), which can minimize the area and cost required for the installation of TSF. However, long-term tailing disposal into open-pit has a potential risk of reducing mechanical stability of surrounding rock mass by acting as an additional load. In this research, a realistic open-pit tailing disposal scenario of 60,400 hours was established based on the case of Marymia gold mine, Australia. Mechanical stability of surface pillar between open-pit and underground stope was analyzed numerically by using Sigma/W, under different stope geometry and rock mass conditions. Simulation results showed that long-term tailing disposal into open-pit can significantly increase the failure probability of surface piller. This result suggests that mechanical stability of mine geometry should be conducted beforehand of open-pit tailing disposal.

Studies on Characteristics and Stability of Anthocyanin Pigment Extracted from Korean Purple - Fleshed Potatoes (한국산 유색감자 색소의 특성 및 안정성에 관한 연구)

  • Effects of pH, sugar, ascorbic acid, organic acids and light sources on the stability of anthocyanin pigment extracted from Korean purple-fleshed potatoes (PL-6, PL-28, PL-31 and Jasim) were studied. The pH had remarkable influence on the color stability of anthocyanin pigment. With increasing pH, the color gradually fades as colorless pseudobases are formed. In acidic pH, anthocyanin was stable, but with increasing pH the color gradually changed to colorless. The addition of sugar decrease in color stability of the pigment during storage period. The most of organic acids, such as a tartaric, citric and succinic acids, were found to improve the stability of the pigment, while malic and malonic acid reduced the stability of the pigment. The addition of ascorbic acid considerable decreased in anthocyanin pigment stability, but the effect was not decreased by adding thiourea. The effect of light sources such as a darkroom, a fluorescent light, and sunlight, reduced gradually the stability of anthocyanin pigment. Therefore the pigment degradation could be minimized by shielding the light from the pigment.

  • 본 연구에서는 유속과 압력등이 시간과 위치의 함수로 표현되는 비정상 유체 가 흐를 때 그 유동 특성이 파이프계에 미치는 영향을 고찰하기 위해 비정상 유동을 포함한 파이프계의 운동방정식을 유도하고 유동 변수가 파이프계의 안정성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다.

  • 유전자 재조합 균주의 발효에 있어서 플라스미드의 안정성과 발효공정의 최적화에 대해 개략적으로 서술하였다. 클론된 DNA의 발현은 플라스미드의 안정성을 크게 저해하며, 저하된 플라스미드의 안정성은 재조합 균주의 생산성을 많이 떨어뜨린다. 최적 발효 조건은 각각의 숙주-벡터 시스템, 사용한 배지, 생성물 등에 따라 크게 변한다. 동일한 숙주-벡터 시스템의 경우도, 사용하는 배지에 따라 온도, 희석률 또는 성장속도에 의존하는 정도가 달라지고 또 최적값도 다 변한다. 또한 발효조건의 최적화가 균체 내 플라스미드의 자기복제,mRNA로의 전사, 단백질로의 translation, 더 나아가 미생물 전체의 생리와 밀접하게 관련이 있다.

  • 옻나무 분말을 급여(4%, 4개월간)한 한우육으로 육포를 제조시 육포의 육색과 지질산화 안정성에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, $37^{\circ}C$에서 5주간 저장 중 옻나무분말 급여육의 육포가 대조구에 비해 저장초기동안 지질산화에 대해 높은 안정성을 보였으며 육색에서도 저장기간 내내 높은 적색도를 보여 아질산염의 감소를 꾀할 수 있으리라 사료된다.

Safety Verification Method Based on Fault Tree Analysis (FTA를 이용한 안전성 검증에 대한 고찰)

  • 객체 지향 설계 명세를 대상으로한 시스템의 안전성에 대한 검사를 하여, 표(Table)조작에 기초한 검증법을 제안하였다[4]. 제안한 검증법에서는 전문 분야별로 준비된 안정성 기준(Safety Standard)과 노우하우(Knowhow)를 이용하여, 안전성에 관한 이벤트(Event)와 액션(Action)의 관계표를 작성하였다. 그러나, 많은 실제 개발 현장에서는 실제 존재하는 안전성 기준의 부족 등으로 인하여, 이러한 검증법의 기용이 어렵다는 문제점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 신뢰성 분석의 한 방법인 FTA(Fault Tree Analysis)의 FT(Fault Tree)도를 이용한 안정성 체크리스트(Check list)를 작성하여, 이를 바탕으로 관계표를 작성하는 새로운 방법을 제안하고자 한다.
