Development of a Safe Driving Management System (안전운전 관리시스템 개발)

  • Dangerous driving is a major cause of traffic accidents in Korea. It becomes more serious for commercial vehicles due to higher fatality rates. The Safe Driving Management System (SDMS), developed in this research, is a comprehensive solution that monitors and stores driving conditions of vehicles, detects dangerous driving situations, and analyzes the results in real time. The Safe Driving Management System consists of a vehicle movement information controller, a dangerous driving detection algorithm and a vehicle movement data report and analysis program. The dangerous driving detection algorithm detects and classifies dangerous driving conditions into representative cases such as sudden acceleration, sudden braking, sudden lane change, and sudden turning. Both computer simulation and vehicle test have been conducted to develop and verify the algorithm. The Safe Driving Management System has been implemented on commercial buses to verify its reliability and objectivity. It is expected that the system can contribute to prevention of traffic accidents, systemization of safe driving management and reduction of commercial vehicle operation costs.

Ideal MHD Beta Limit for Optimum Stable Operation of Axisymmetric Tokamak Reactor with a Circular Cross Section (원형 단면을 가진 축대칭형 토카막 핵융합로의 최적운전을 위한 이상적 자기유체역학 안전성을 유지하는 베타값의 최대한계)

  • A method for determining the optimum ideal MHD $\beta$limit and the operation conditions is presented for an axisymmetric tokamak reactor with a circular cross section. The $\beta$limit is calculated under the constraints of ideal MHD instability criteria with varying the operation conditions which depend on the toroidal current density distributions. Semiempirical laws deduced from experimental observations are used for the toroidal current density distributions. Analytic derivations of various equations required to determine the $\beta$limit are carried out from the empirical equations. Various distributions of the $\beta$limit are obtained by the numerical calculations for different distributions of the toroidal current density. The resulting values of the maximum $\beta$limited by ideal MHD instabilities are expressed by a scaling law in terms of the tokamak geometry and the safety factor.

  • Pumps are used widely in feed water, cooling & heating system and process line of industrial and construction fields. They consume nearly 20% of the each nation's total electrical energy. But The management of pump energy wasn't controlled well. Their loss of energy is huge if they have been operated at low efficiency. The first buying cost of pump is small compare to the power consumption of pump, so we can recommend the suitable replace time and best operating condition of parts and pump to measure the pump efficiency. Pump efficiency is usually measured according to the two methods which they are called thermodynamic method and traditional technique. And we measured the pump efficiency using two methods using potable pump efficiency measurement device and compared the results with the real performance curve offered from pump maker.

Development of a Methodology for Detecting Intentional Aggressive Driving Events Using Multi-agent Driving Simulations (Multi-agent 주행 시뮬레이션을 이용한 운전자 주행패턴을 반영한 공격운전 검지기법 개발)

  • Intentional aggressive driving (IAD) is defined as a hazardous driving event that the aggressive driver intentionally threatens neighbor drivers with abrupt longitudinal and lateral maneuvering. This study developed a methodology for detecting IAD events based on the analysis of interactions between aggressive driver and normal driver. Three major aggressive events including rear-close following, side-close driving, and sudden deceleration were analyzed to develop the algorithm. Then, driving simulation experiments were conducted using a multi-agent driving simulator to obtain data to be used for the development of the detection algorithm. In order to detect the driver's intention to attack, a relative evaluation index (Erratic Driving Index, EDI) reflecting the driving pattern was derived. The derived IAD event detection algorithm utilizes both the existing absolute detection method and the relative detection method. It is expected that the proposed methodology can be effectively used for detecting IAD events in support of in-vehicle data recorder technology in practice.

  • Considering the domestic traffic environment and the increase of traffic accidents, we have been asked to exactly analyze the main causes of accidents for the accident-experienced drivers to be rehabilitated. In this thesis we present the development process and results of a driving simulator using the IPDE method in the interest of safe driving and driving rehabilitation. Through this Driving simulation development the rehabilitated driver has the possibility of experiencing the real driving situation with the driving aptitude and examines the reasons of accidents. Through the examinations the driver has the chance to correct the deformities of driving by choosing the explanatory scenes, and through this process the driver is able to develop the capability to react in the real situation. However this driving simulation system is one of the best developed, depending on weather and road condition the braking distance may change. Therefore the fuzzy rule and neural network have been used in this thesis to solve previously mentioned problem. The simulation exactly calculated the road and weather conditions to adjust the breaking intensity.

  • To ensure safer road conditions, understanding the human factors influencing driving behavior is crucial. However, there are many difficulties in deriving the characteristics of individual human factors that affect actual driving behaviors. Therefore, this study analyzes self-reported dangerous-driving propensities in order to explore potential correlations with drivers' behaviors. The goal is to propose a method for assessing driving tendencies based on varying traffic scenarios. The study employed a questionnaire to gauge participants' propensity to drive dangerously, utilizing a simulator to analyze their driving behaviors. The aim is to determine any notable connections between dangerous-driving propensity and specific driving behaviors. Results indicate that individuals exhibiting a high propensity for reckless driving, as identified by the Korean DBQ, tend to drive at higher speeds and display more aggressive acceleration patterns. These findings contribute to a potential method for assessing reckless driving drivers.

  • According to the accident statistics published by the National Police Agency in 2007, the number of commercial vehicle(city, suburb and other buses) accidents consumes 3.5 percent of the total number of traffic accidents in this year. Since the commercial vehicles are responsible for not only the drivers but also the passengers, it leads more serious social and economic problems. There have been various forms of systems such as a digital speedometer or a black box to meet the social requirement for reducing traffic accidents and safe driving. however the system based on the data after accident control the driver by analyze dangerous drive behaviors, so there is a limit to control driver in real-time. Also speedometer currently managed provide the driver warning information in real-time, but using only the speed of vehicle and RPM information regardless of actual dangerous drive behaviors, disappear the effectiveness. In this study performed a simulation for drivers in general using a simulator programed with dangerous driving types we had developed in the previous study and judging the types. It'd be more effective system to provide the drivers warning information using weight valued in this study. However in this study is limited to apply weight as a result of simulation of drivers in general in actual situation should be made up the deficit based on information of driving type of actual commercial vehicles.

  • 원자력안전위원회는 12월 8일 제62회 원자력안전위원회를 개최하고, '제2차('17~'21년) 원자력안전종합계획안'에 대한 심의를 거쳐 동 계획을 확정하였다. 제2차 종합계획은 '국민이 공감하는 원자력 안전, 방사선 위험으로부터 안전한 사회'를 비전으로 원자력, 방사선 및 핵안보 등 분야별 안전 강화를 위한 7대 전략 21개 중점 추진 과제를 포함하고 있다. 주요 내용은 ${\triangle}$정상 운전부터 중대사고까지 원전의 안전 관리 강화, ${\triangle}$정보 공개 소통을 통한 투명성 제고, ${\triangle}$해체 사용후핵연료 등 원자력산업의 후행주기 안전 관리 체계 구축, ${\triangle}$지진 등 재난대비 및 방사능 비상 대응 체계의 실효성 제고, ${\triangle}$핵안보 핵비확산체제의 국제사회 선도, ${\triangle}$환경 변화에 대응한 선제적 방사선 안전 관리, ${\triangle}$R&D, 인력 양성, 국제 협력 인프라 확충 등이다. 원자력안전종합계획은 "원자력안전법"에 근거하여 5년 단위로 수립되는 원자력 및 방사선 안전 관련 최상위 국가 계획이다.

WH형 원전 노심운전분석 지원 시스템 개발

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 WH형 원전에서 노심운전분석 코드를 각 원전의 인접한 전산소의 주전산기에 설치하고, 단말기를 이용한 on-line 작업으로 수행하는 현행 노심분석 업무를 개선하기 위하여 PC용 INCORE 코드를 개발하였고, 이를 바탕으로 동일 윈도우 통합환경에서 INCORE 코드 운영에 필요한 모든 기능과 노내 출력분포 분석을 위한 발전소 운영절차 기능을 통합한 WINCORE(Windows program for INCORE) 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템을 이용함으로써 측정 현장에서 직접적인 자료처리, 분석계산 및 기술지침서 안전제한치 만족여부 결정을 통하여 노심관리 업무의 효율성을 제고할 수 있다.

  • 「9ㆍ10월 교통사고예방의 달」을 맞이하여 본협회에서는 9월 25,26일 양일간 치안본부와 한국도로 공사의 후원을 얻어 경부고속도로상 (하행선 79km지점, 망향휴게소)에서, 타이어 정비불량으로 인한 교통사고를 미연에 방지하고 동시에 고속도로를 운행하는 운전기사들에게 타이어 안전사용관리에 대하여 올바른 인식과 이해를 시키고자 타이어 무료점검을 실시하였다. 이번 타이어 점검에는 본협회, 회원사, 치안본부, 한국도로공사 등 직원 20여명과 Service Car 3대가 동원되어 타이어의 마모한계, 편마모, 이상마모, 공기압, 외상 등을 비롯하여 못ㆍ쇠붙이ㆍ유리조각 등일 찔려있는지의 여부를 정확히 검사ㆍ점검하며 결과는 점검 카드에 기재하여 운전기사들에게 알려주며 정비를 필요로 하는 타이어는 정비직원이 즉시 정비해주었다.
