Self Generable Conditionally Anonymous Authentication System for VANET (VANET를 위한 차량자체생성 조건부익명 인증시스템)

  • Messages exchanged among vehicles must be authenticated in order to provide collision avoidance and cooperative driving services in VANET. However, digitally signing the messages can violate the privacy of users. Therefore, we require authentication systems that can provide conditional anonymity. Recently, Zhang et al. proposed conditionally anonymous authentication system for VANET using tamper-resistant hardware. In their system, vehicles can generate identity-based public keys by themselves and use them to sign messages. Moreover, they use batch verification to effectively verify signed messages. In this paper, we provide amelioration to Zhang et al.'s system in the following respects. First, we use a more efficient probabilistic signature scheme. Second, unlike Zhang et al., we use a security proven batch verification scheme. We also provide effective solutions for key revocation and anonymity revocation problems.

  • A ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance System) for the safe driving is an important area in autonumous car. Specially, a ADAS software using an image sensors attached in previous car is low in building cost, and utilizes for various purpose. A algorithm for detecting the break-lamp from the tail-lamp of preceding vehicle is proposed in this paper. This method can perceive the driving condition of preceding vehicle. Proposed method uses the YOLO techinicque that has a excellent performance in object tracing from real scene, and extracts the intensity variable region of break-lamp from HSV image of detected vehicle ROI(Region Of Interest). After detecting the candidate region of break-lamp, each isolated region is labeled. The break-lamp region is detected finally by using the proposed selective-attention model that percieves the shape-similarity of labeled candidate region. In order to evaluate the performance of the preceding vehicle break-lamp detection system implemented in this paper, we applied our system to the various driving images. As a results, implemented system showed successful results.

  • This study is a study on System On Chip (SOC) that implements virtual engine sound in electric vehicles without engines, and realizes vivid engine sound by combining Adaptive Difference PCM (ADPCM) method and frequency modulation method for satisfaction of driver's needs and safety of pedestrians. In addition, by proposing an electronic sound synthesis algorithm applying Musical Instrument Didital Interface (MIDI), an engine sound synthesis method and a constitutive model of an engine sound generation system are presented. In order to satisfy both drivers and pedestrians, this study uses Controller Area Network (CAN) communication to receive information such as Revolution Per Minute (RPM), vehicle speed, accelerator pedal depressed amount, torque, etc., transmitted according to the driver's driving habits, and then modulates the frequency according to the appropriate preset parameters We implemented an interaction algorithm that accurately reflects the intention of the system and driver by using interpolation for the system, ADPCM algorithm for reducing the amount of information, and MIDI format information for making engine sound easier.

A study of Battery User Pattern Change tracking method using Linear Regression and ARIMA Model (선형회귀 및 ARIMA 모델을 이용한 배터리 사용자 패턴 변화 추적 연구)

  • This paper addresses the safety concern that the SOH of batteries in electric vehicles decreases sharply when drivers change or their driving patterns change. Such a change can overload the battery, reduce the battery life, and induce safety issues. This paper aims to present the SOH as the changes on a dashboard of an electric vehicle in real-time in response to user pattern changes. As part of the training process I used battery data among the datasets provided by NASA, and built models incorporating linear regression and ARIMA, and predicted new battery data that contained user changes based on previously trained models. Therefore, as a result of the prediction, the linear regression is better at predicting some changes in SOH based on the user's pattern change if we have more battery datasets with a wide range of independent values. The ARIMA model can be used if we only have battery datasets with SOH data.

Development of Algorithms for Four-quadrant Gate System and Obstacle Detection Systems at Crossings (철도건널목 지장물·진입위반차량 검지시스템 및 4분할 차단 알고리즘 개발)

  • This research revealed the operation problems of the current crossing control systems through inspecting and testing the obstacle detection systems and gate control systems for the crossings. To resolve the problems of the crossing control systems, this research developed new algorithms of four-quadrant gate system and obstacle detection systems combing the functions of rasar sensors and magnetic sensors and tested the reliability of the systems. Currently, the obstacle detection systems and gate control systems controls approaching and departing traffic by simply detecting vehicles and obstacles but do not consider traffic movements at the crossings. In addition, they do not make signal cooperation for gate controls. As a result, such inefficient crossing controls result in unsafe gate controls for drivers. Therefore, the newly developed crossing control systems through this study will provide more effective crossing control services with more strengthen information cooperation within control systems. Besides they will help to reduce train crashes at the crossings by gate control systems considering various driving behaviors.

Study of performance improvement in bench scale auxiliary bioelectrochemical anaerobic digestion for application suitability verification (보조 미생물전기화학적 혐기성소화의 적용적합성 검증을 위한 bench scale에서의 성능향상 연구)

  • 오늘날 급격한 인구증가 및 도시화로 인해 음식물류 폐기물 발생량이 크게 증가하였으며, 음식물류 폐기물에서 발생되는 음폐수의 적절한 처리방안에 대한 관심이 증가하였다. 혐기성 소화(Anaerobic digestion; AD)는 음폐수의 바람직한 처리방법으로 알려졌지만, 긴 처리기간 및 공정 불안정 등의 문제로 개선이 필요하며, 그 중 기존 AD에 보조 반응조를 추가한 보조 미생물전기화학적 혐기성소화(Auxiliary bioelectrochemical anaerobic digestion; ABEAD)가 적절한 개선방안으로 제시되었다. 하지만 아직 20 L 이상 용량에서의 연구는 이뤄지지 않았으며, 따라서 본 연구에서는 100 L의 용량에서 ABEAD의 성능향상을 평가하고 규모증가에 따른 성능변화를 비교하였다. 반응조는 AD와 ABEAD로 구성되었다. 유효용량 100 L, 유기물부하율 4 kg/m3/d, HRT 20 days 및 중온소화(35℃) 조건으로 운전하였으며, AD는 기계적 교반, ABEAD는 기계적 교반 및 펌프를 통한 bulk 용액 순환이 이뤄졌다. ABEAD의 전극재질은 SUS304를 사용하였고, 0.4V의 전압을 공급하였다. 성능비교는 pH, 휘발성지방산(Volatile fatty acids; VFAs), 유기물제거율 및 메탄 생성량을 비교해 수행하였다. 실험결과 AD는 pH 및 VFAs가 각각 평균 7.37 및 3,880 mg/L, ABEAD는 각각 평균 7.5 및 2,870 mg/L로 VFAs의 빠른 처리를 통해 공정안전성 향상되었고, 유기물제거율 및 메탄생성량의 경우 AD는 각각 평균 65.8 % 및 85.1 L/d, ABEAD는 각각 평균 76.1 % 및 108.1 L/d로 유기물의 빠른 처리 및 메탄전환이 이루어져 비교적 큰 규모에서도 ABEAD의 성능향상이 나타남을 확인하였다. 또한 이전 소규모 연구들과 비교를 통해 규모에 따른 성능향상폭을 비교했을 때에도 큰 차이가 나지 않는 것으로 판단되며, 따라서 ABEAD는 BEAD 기술의 상용화 및 적용에 적합한 것으로 사료된다.

A Probability Model based on Counting Method to Improve Broadcast Reliability over VANET (차량이동통신용 브로드캐스트의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 확률 모델)

  • The reliability of broadcasting over vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) is one of the most critical factors for driving safety applications. There exists limitations to improve the reliability of broadcast transmissions in saturated VANETs where previous proposals in literature tackle the problem by heuristically adapting the size of the contention window (CW). This paper considers improving the reliability by proposing a new probability model based on the counting methods of permutations and combinations, which counts all the possible cases of broadcast failures in a single-hop broadcast transmission for a given CW. From the model, we calculate the best CW size given the number of contention nodes, which significantly improves the reliability and satisfying the timely dissemination of emergency broadcasting messages. Through extensive VANET simulations with varying densities, we show that our model maintains near 100 percent success rate for single-hop broadcast as well as multi-hop broadcast (e.g. 40 hops) and achieves minimal broadcast delay.

Psychological Literature on Driving Behavior to Review the Studies of Traffic Psychology since 2004 in Korea (교통행동 연구의 경향성 분석을 위한 문헌고찰 - 2004년 이후 한국교통심리학의 연구경향분석)

  • This study analysed the published papers dealing with traffic behaviors since 2004 in south Korea. The following information was coded for each papers; year of publication, source, authors, main topic, and subtopic. The annual numbers of publication in 2004 and 2005 showed 6 articles and 7 articles. Since 2006, The annual numbers were increasing more than 10 papers. It means that the researches on traffic behavior were rich. The driver was main topic of 73.2% of articles. Cognition & Perception, Fatigue and Stress, and Alcohol were the main interest sub-topics dealing with main topic driver. Elderly driver was 10.4%, the interest in elderly drivers grew with population aging. And the dominant publications were Journal of traffic safety research, Journal of Korean Psychology Association, and Journal of the Koean Data Analysis Society with 60% of all articles for last 10 years.

Analysis of Insulation Life Loss due to Fault Occurrence of TP Cable for HVDC Systems (고장 발생에 따른 HVDC 시스템용 TP 케이블의 절연체 수명 손실 분석)

  • In order to safely use thermoplastic (TP) cables in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, it is necessary to analyze the life loss rate of the cable due to system fault that may occur during operation through various research and tests. In this paper, we analyzed the insulation life loss rate of TP cable according to the type of faults that may occur during HVDC system operation. Electric power due to fault was applied to the TP cable model, and the life loss rate of the insulator was analyzed by applying the Arrhenius-Inverse Power Model (IPM) based on the analysis results through the 2D finite element method. As a result of the analysis, the life loss rate of the insulator was highly influenced by the electric field strength, and the loss rate was highest inside the insulator when a fault occurred. These results can be used as important characteristics in the early design stage for commercialization of TP cables.

Design of a Wireless Monitoring System for Analyzing the Usage Characteristics of Lithium-ion Batteries (리튬이온 배터리의 사용 특성 분석을 위한 무선 모니터링 시스템 설계)

  • Various monitoring systems are in operation in large-scale production facilities such as Yeosu Industrial Complex and the power equipment for operating these systems uses protective devices with built-in low-power lithium-ion batteries to cope with poor environments. In this study, a wireless monitoring system was designed and implemented to analyze the usage characteristics of these lithium-ion batteries. By using the system, the temperature and humidity of the protective device including the battery, gas generation due to charging and discharging of the battery within the protective device, and changes in battery characteristics can be monitored wirelessly at all times. Through this system, the stable management and power supply of batteries required for monitoring devices in industrial complexes are provided, thereby contributing to the establishment of an efficient operation and management system for factory production facilities.
