Hand-Gesture Dialing System for Safe Driving (안전성 확보를 위한 손동작 전화 다이얼링 시스템)

  • There are still problems have to solve for safety of driving comparing to the upgraded convenience of advanced vehicle. Most traffic accident is by uncareful driving cause of interface operations which are directive reasons of it in controlling the complicate multimedia device. According to interesting in smart automobile, various approaches for safe driving have been studied. The current multimedia interface embedded in vehicle is lacking the safety due to loss the sense and operation capacity by instantaneous view movement. In this paper, we propose a safe dialing system for safe driving to control dial and search dictionary by hand-gesture. The proposed system improved the user convenience and safety in automobile operation using intuitive gesture and TTS(Text to Speech).

Study on the Safe use of the Chemical Extinguishing Agent (화학물질 소화약제 안전한 사용에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the recent serious disaster cases of chemical extinguishing agent poisoning and suffocation investigated by KOSHA and proposed the safe use of chemical substances, including the chemical extinguishing agent. An analysis of the statistical figures an increase in the number and variations of chemical poisoning and suffocation cases in industry between 2011~2016 increased. Unlike other physical accidents, chemical accidents are very high in severity and it is difficult to identify the chemical hazard and risk. To prevent chemical disasters, it is essential to develop and use an easy chemical risk assessment tool. For the safe use of chemical substances, in which it is difficult to carry out hazard identification and risk assessments, this thesis presents the useful chemical recognition and risk assessment tools, CHEM-i and CHARM developed by KOSHA.

  • In order for preemptive response and prevention against disasters, it is necessary to systematically collect, preserve, manage, and utilize the information resources of records related with disaster safety. Therefore, this study analyzed the types and status of text-based document archives among the records information resources which were published and produced by the disaster safety-related institutions via online. Detail types analysis of disasters in document archives also was conducted. Based on filed interviews, the actual users' requirements for the disaster safety information archives are converged. The ultimate goal of this study is to establish a basis for building of disaster safety information archives by deriving improved management strategies of disaster safety records resources.

Safety Awareness of High School Students, Disaster Safety Education and First Aid Knowledge (고등학생의 안전의식, 재난안전교육 및 응급처치 지식)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the safety consciousness of high school students, disaster safety education, and the degree of first aid knowledge and to understand the relationship between safety consciousness and first aid knowledge. The subjects were 293 male students attending third grade of high school at G city and analyzed using SPSS 21.0 from March 19, 2018 to March 28, 2018. The results of the study showed that the correctness rate of first aid knowledge was 40.15% and that the relationship between safety consciousness and subcategories of first aid knowledge was significant(r=-.131, p=.025), respiratory and circulatory system(r=.213, p<.001), dressing and bandages(r=.156, p=.008). The purpose of this study is to contribute to the utilization of the basic knowledge of the curriculum to cultivate the ability to cope with safety accidents and to develop and evaluate educational programs to improve the level of first aid.

고리 1호기 계속운전 추진 현황

  • 고리 1호기는 한국에서 최초로 규제 기관에 계속운전을 신청한 원전이다. 2007년 6월에 설계 수명 기간 만료가 되는 고리 1호기는 규제 기관으로부터 계속운전(Continued Operation)에 대한 안전성 심사를 받고 있다. 한수원은 고리 1호기 계속운전 승인을 금년 12월에 받기 위해 최선을 다하고 있으며 지역 주민의 사회적 수용성 확보를 위해 노력중이다. 고리 1호기의 계속운전 기간 동안 안전성을 평가하고 정리한 안전성평가보고서를 한수원은 2006년 6월에 정부에 제출하였다. 고리 1호기는 웨스팅하우스의 2루프 가압경수로이다. 이와 동일한 원전인 일본의 미하마 1,2호기와 겐까이1호기가 계속운전중이며, 미국의 기네이와 포인트 비치 1,2호기가 계속운전 승인을 받았다. 제출한 안전성평가보고서에 대해 한국원자력안전기술원이 심사중이며, 해외 원전과 같이 계속운전을 할 수 있을 것으로 예상하고 있다. 또한 계속운전을 위한 사회적 수용성(Public Acceptance) 확보는 설비의 철저한 안전성 확보 및 지역 주민의 공감대 형성을 통해서 이루어질 것이다. 설계 수명 이후 원자력발전소를 계속 운전하는 것은 이미 선진국에서 시행되고 있다. 2007년 3월 기준으로 미국에서 48기가 운영 허가 갱신 승인을 받았고, 영국은 8기, 일본은 12기가 계속운전중이다. 고리 1호기 성능 지표를 개선시키기 위해서 한수원은 증기발생기, 저압 터빈, 원자로 냉각재 펌프 내장품, 주변압기, 주발전기 등을 교체하였으며, 수명관리 연구, 주기적안전성 평가, 환경 영향 평가를 수행하였다. 2005년 9월에는 미국의 운영 허가 갱신 제도를 참조하여 원자력법이 개정되었다. 이에 한수원은 개정된 원자력법에 맞추어 주기적 안전성평가, 주요 기기에 대한 수명 평가 및 방사능 환경 영향평가를 하였다. 이 세가지 보고서들로 구성된 안전성평가보고서를 2006년 6월에 규제 기관에 제출하였다. 계속운전은 한국을 비롯하여 부존 자원이 부족한 국가들에게는 에너지 자원의 효율적 활용 및 온실 가스 배출을 고려할 때 반드시 필요한 것이다.

  • Based on the Internet of Things technology, one of the core technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, our Ministry of Defense is also pushing to establish M-IoT in defense area to improve management efficiency, innovate military culture and strengthen military power. However, devices connected to the Military Internet of Things can be easily exposed to various of cyber threats as most of them are developed and with a focus on improving sensing and communication skills that collect and transmit data. And it is not easy to uniquely identify the numerous heterogeneous devices, and to establish a secure communication channel between devices or between devices and management servers. In this paper, based on PUF technology, we propose a novel key management scheme that can uniquely identify the various devices, and generate the secret keys needed for the establishment of a secure communication channel using non-replicable information generated by the PUF. We also analyze the efficiency of our proposed scheme through comparison with existing key management scheme and verify the logic and security using BAN Logic.

Considerable Factors and Disaster/Safety Content Application of Virtual Reality Technology (가상현실 재난안전 콘텐츠 적용 및 고려요소)

  • Since disaster-safety accidents cause serious damage to human life and property, preparations and responses have been critically challenged by the country and industry. Recently, the government and industry have recognized its importance and are seeking solutions to the causes of disasters in various ways. If virtual reality technology is actively used, it will be easier to prepare and train for disasters, as the social costs will be reduced. However, academic research on this has not been actively studied. In particular, it seems difficult to seek data that comprehensively analyzes or organizes disaster-safety with virtual reality contents. In this paper, we analyze the current status of domestic and overseas focused on virtual reality disaster/safety contents, examine its characteristics, and point out the direction required for advanced service in the future. To this end, the implications of the numerical data of the accident type have been derived, and the direction of development of public institutions, academic research, and industry have also been investigated. Finally, technical considerations are presented as well.

  • Negligent accidents in urban railway station not only give damages to users but also cause avoidance of public transport usage. This study aims to identify design factors in designing urban railway station for reducing and preventing negligent accidents in the station. Especially this study identifies design factors from the perspectives of universal design concept which is for all persons. This study classified negligent accidents in urban railway stations, analysed degree of danger and identified the causes of accidents. Then this study identified universal design factors based on the results of analysis on the priority of accident factors relating to negligent accidents. The results of this study can be utilized as basic data in designing urban railway station for reducing and preventing negligent accident in urban railway station.

Methodology for Evaluating Real-time Rear-end Collision Risks based on Vehicle Trajectory Data Extracted from Video Image Tracking (영상기반 실시간 후미추돌 위험도 분석기법 개발)

  • An innovative feature of this study is to propose a methodology for evaluating safety performance in real time based on vehicle trajectory data extracted from video images. The essence of evaluating safety performance is to capture unsafe car-following events between individual vehicles traveling surveillance area. The proposed methodology applied two indices including real-time safety index (RSI) based on the concept of safe stopping distance and time-to-collision (TTC) to the evaluation of safety performance. It is believed that outcomes would be greatly utilized in developing a new generation of video images processing (VIP) based traffic detection systems capable of producing safety performance measurements. Relevant technical challenges for such detection systems are also discussed.

Development of an Evaluation Index for Identifying Freeway Traffic Safety Based on Integrating RWIS and VDS Data (기상 및 교통 자료를 이용한 교통류 안전성 판단 지표 개발)

  • This study proposes a novel performance measure, which is referred to as Hazardous Spacing Index (HSI), to be used for evaluating safety of traffic stream on freeways. The basic principle of the proposed methodology is to investigate whether drivers would have sufficient stopping sight distance (SSD) under limited visibility conditions to eliminate rear-end crash potentials at every time step. Both Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) and Vehicle Detection Systems (VDS) data were used to derive visibility distance (VD) and SSD, respectively. Moreover, the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) method was adopted to predict both VD and SSD in estimating predictive HSIs, which would be used to trigger advanced warning information to encourage safer driving. The outcome of this study is also expected to be used for monitoring freeway traffic stream in terms of safety.
