Development of a Safety Assessment Method using Detailed Structural Analysis for Iron-Manufacturing Plant Structures (상세구조해석을 이용한 제철설비구조물 안전성 평가 기술개발)

  • Up to date, the life extension of industrial plant structures has been strongly required in the field of iron-manufacturing company, atomic or power generation company and so on. Fault monitoring, maintenance of aging structural components, safety assessment and residual life prediction may be recognized as typical and/or practical methods in terms of life extension methods. Based on the construction of damage scenario, precise analysis method and development of the risk or reliability assessment, a number of studies have been carried out in this viewpoint. In conjunction with the finite element analysis technique, a practical procedure for the safety assessment of iron-manufacturing plant structures was developed in this paper with a particular interest in furnace. By virtue of the detailed finite element analyses for blust furnace under an operational condition, the validity of the proposed procedure for safety assessment was presented.

  • The span deflection among the monitoring items of bridge measurement system in real time is representative behaviour and important index of superstructure condition. the limit of span deflection in Standard Specifications for Highway Bridge in Korea has been applied to the method that is making the management-criteria for span deflection in bridge measurement system. But the limit concern mainly serviceability of divers. So it is difficult to find the safety factor of the limit from the viewpoint of bridge safety. This study estimated the safety factor of the limit of span-deflection in Standard Specifications for Highway Bridge in Korea from the viewpoint of bridge safety by the indoor structural test.

  • 본 논문에서는 설계 하중에 지배되는 구조물에 있어서, 입력 파라미터들의 불확실성을 표준편차와 패턴의 변동, 두 차원에서 접근, 처리할 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위해서 구조물에 입력으로 작용하는 하중 패턴의 결정과 구조물의 형상의 진화를 동시에 고려할 수 있는 Co-Evolutionary Structural Design framework라 명명한 새로운 구조 설계 방식을 개발하였다. 공학자의 직관과 경험 의존적인 하중을 대상으로 최적화된 구조물은, 성능에 완벽한 안전을 보장해 줄 수 없으며, 이에 관한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 주어진 상황 속에서 다양한 하중이 작용하더라도 안전할 수 있는 구조물의 설계 방식에 관해서 설명한다. 본 프레임워크는 연성을 가지는 두 Disciplinary Modules, 즉 구조 형상설계와 하중설계로 이루어지며 하중에 관한 DB로 연결되어 순차적인 MDO 설계과정을 거치게 된다. 두 Discipline은 설계과정을 거치면서 상호 견제의 틀 속에서 진화하며 기존 방식과 달리 극한 하중 패턴을 스스로 찾아서 설계 반영하는 특징을 가진다. 본 접근 방식의 유용성을 평가하기 위해서 10-bar truss 구조물과 Jacket-Type 구조물로 테스트해 보았다.

  • This paper introduces the architecture of OUTPUT module that is suitable using in safety related system having SIL4 and proposes the quantitative target that is required for OUTPUT module. Especially, only output type that is made up Relay output signal and analog signal among various output ways is applied in output module that is a part of safety related system. The FMEA(Failure Modes and Effect Analysis), FTA(Fault Tree Analysis) are used as analysis method. As a result, it proposes to the architecture and failure frequency of the Output module that is used in SIL4 safety related system.

  • The road luminaires have been treated as subsidiary electric apparatuses in the road although they are indispensable facilities which people use the road safely. Because of this misunderstanding, there are not many researches on luminaire supports against the wind loads. Therefore, a typhoon has overturned or damaged many luminaire supports without having sufficient structural safeties. The purpose of this study is to review the current design criteria and to suggest the improvement of design methods based on the structural safety and compatible with the site conditions of luminaire supports. The stress concentration around the inspection hole, which causes the collapse of luminaire supports, is analyzed and stress reduction method is suggested with the improved design methods.

  • 최근 이상기후의 영향으로 특정지역 중심의 국지성 집중호우 발생 빈도가 증가하고 있으며, 집중강우의 영향으로 하천의 범람 사고 또한 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 이와 관련하여, 본 연구에서는 수문시설의 안전성 확보를 위해, 기후변화 측면에서 현재 운영 중인 안전점검 및 정밀안전진단 세부지침의 개선 사항을 검토하고, 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 먼저 본 연구에서는 수문시설의 안전성평가 실시 현황, 현장적용 사례 및 평가기준 비교 검토를 통해 개선사항을 도출하고자 하였으며, 검토된 결과는 다음과 같다. 시설물의 안전성 평가는 선택적으로 수행할 수 있도록 규정하고 있어, 주기적 평가가 수반되지 않고 있으며, 최근 수위 변동에 대한 시설의 안전성 확보여부가 확인되고 있지 않은 실정이다. 또한 수문시설의 조작대 접근성 및 문비 구조검토 안전성 평가는 설계 당시의 홍수위를 기반으로 한 평가항목으로, 하천의 홍수위 상승에 취약적 요소가 내재되어 있으며, 수문시설의 기존 평가체계에서는 시설물의 기능적 특성에 따른 평가결과를 확인하기 어렵다는 한계점이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 조작대 접근성, 내하력 및 문비 구조검토 안전성 평가 항목 외에 추가적으로 홍수조절능력에 대한 안전성평가 항목의 신설의 필요성과 기준을 마련하고, 수문시설의 기능적 특성을 고려한 단계별 평가 체계를 구축하였다.

A Complementary Analysis for the Structural Safety Evaluation of the Spent Nuclear Fuel Disposal Canister for the Pressurized Water Reactor (가압경수로(PWR)용 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조적 안전성 평가 보완 해석)

  • A structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister for the pressurized water reactor(PWR) for about 10,000 years long term deposition at a 500m deep granitic bedrock repository has been developed. However this developed structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister is too heavy to handle without any structural safety problem. Hence a lighter structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister which is easy to handle has been tried to develop very much. One of the reasons which made the structural model heavy is considered to be due to the severe adaptation of the design conditions like external loads and safety factor etc. to the canister design. Hence a complementary analysis to alleviate such severe design conditions is required for the reduction of the canister weight. In this study, a complementary structural analysis for the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister is carried out changing the design conditions such as external loads and safety factors to recalculate the design parameters like diameter and thickness etc. of the canister. The complementary analysis results shows that the diameter of canister can be shortened from 122cm to 102cm to reduce the weight of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister.

Development of Foundation Structure for 8MW Offshore Wind Turbine on Soft Clay Layer (점토층 지반에 설치 가능한 8MW급 해상풍력발전기 하부구조물 개발)

  • The construction of new renewable energy facilities is steadily increasing every year. In particular, the offshore wind farm market, which has abundant development scalability and a high production coefficient, is growing rapidly. The southwest sea has the highest possible offshore wind power potential, and related projects are to be promoted. This study presents a basic design procedure by the EUROCODE and considers structural safety in the development of an effective of shore wind foundation in the clay layer. In a previous study, the wind power generator of 5MW class was the main target, but the 8MW of wind turbine generator, which meets the technical trend of the wind turbine market in the Southwest sea, was selected as the standard model. Furthermore, a foundation that fulfills the geological conditions of the Southwest sea was developed. The structural safety of this foundation was verified using finite element method. Moreover, structural safety was secured by proper reinforcement from the initial design. Based on the results of this study, structural safety check for various types of foundations is possible in the future. Additionally, specialized structural design and evaluation guidance were also established.
